"Passage" by Morris Ruddick

Morris Ruddick, author of "The Joseph Anointing" - Denver, CO

Passages

It’s about the turning points, the hurdles and pressures incorporated in pivotal passages of time, as our journeys are released from an old season, to embrace the realities and challenges of the new one.

There’s something about these turning points that deserve a closer look. The change requires awareness and preparation. Jesus spent three intense years preparing His disciples for the incredible passage that would follow His resurrection with the subsequent impartation of the Holy Spirit.

Yet, there were those, like the Pharisees who resisted the passage, seeking to undermine it. Those like Judas whose perspective, despite his proximity to Jesus, caused him to totally miss what was transpiring right before him. And those simply who took a little longer in their grasp of it all.

Overriding the status quo with well-meaning intentions can be a challenge in recognizing the peripheries of God’s process ….in the recovery of all things.

We’re at another such juncture. It involves the need to face the passages head-on. To resist and overcome the spiritual static. Passages are wrought with turbulence and uncertainty. Given the right priorities, balance in these spiritual passages can require navigating the age-old narrow corridor between life and death ….as we confront the challenges and reach, to embrace the new horizons that will unveil the opportunity of the season.

Resisting the Opportunity
Despite what might be valid reasons, gaps have always existed in how the generations view the world around them. The conflict in this passage is nothing new. The intensity is. Superficially, what for some can seem a reflection of discord, historically have proven to be the glimmers and then the birthings of significant change.

Jesus’ earthly ministry not only consistently pointed to this big-picture perspective, but was the focus He gave in preparing His disciples and followers with the dynamics needed to embrace these passages and new season.

Getting beyond the superficialities and discord lies in the wisdom and strength needed to process change. Change being driven by the interacting dynamics that geopolitics, culture, technologies and economies have on societies, over time. Recognizing the difference between annoying short term events and the focus needed for long term solutions is the perspective from-on-High that shaped David’s leadership as King ….in gleaning the wisdom from the sons of Issachar, who understood the times, to know what to do.

Again, there is nothing new in this phenomenon. It has been at play in ages past during the many instances of severe conflict and chaos that accompany the passages of seasons, detailed in key times outlined in Scripture.

Seeing Beyond the Shadows
I have been at the forefront of those describing the Middle Ages as the Dark Ages. In many ways they did reflect dark parameters and spiritual misfires impeding the process. Yet in others, God’s plan was still ahead of the power curve, with these times representing a significant passage into unfolding developments.

Morris Bishop, a man considered an expert on the Middle Ages, details these interacting changes in his compelling history of “The Middle Ages.” Despite the dynamics that have given these centuries the dark-ages label, the big-picture dynamics ….cultural, technological and economic ….that took root in the Middle Ages were dramatic.

While the Pharisees were largely blind to such big-picture dynamics, their efforts to maintain the status quo and their resistance to change served to distort the shorter-term, within-a-generation changes.

These shorter-term responses to change encountered in life are highlighted by the role of family have shaped the outlooks of emerging generations. Likewise, mentors are normally, or should be those whose grasp of the big-picture is more prescient than those struggling to adjust to the challenges of the journey. Gail Sheehy, in her initial book on these interim responses to change, “Passages,” notes transcendent wisdom needed for navigating generational changes. Her message has been tagged by the New York Times as being one of the ten most influential books on their list.

Bearing on this premise to understand the times, to know what to do, reflecting enduring, ageless wisdom, Scripture amazingly goes even further than the insights of these authors, in defining the complexities of life and culture.

Preparing for Change
Additionally, it raises the bar in pointing to this age-old source of chaos and conflict, noting the prescient impact that the simplicity that faith, with the potential influence of community and prayer can have on geopolitics, culture, technology and economies..

So it is that preparing for change begins with those we choose to align with, in accomplishing what we reach for, in our purpose-in-life.

It points to those we want alongside us, when the battle becomes fierce. Simultaneously, it points to those whose track records and propensity toward evil require more than prayer, but whose influence needs to be avoided. Paul consistently pointed to and stood against such ones, especially those within the household of faith, who sought to undermine his agendas.

Combat tends to heighten what needs to operate when discerning between the phonies, the glory-hounds ….and those who uphold the standard, who can be counted on. Honor and integrity are at the core of distinguishing those who can be counted on, when it matters.

For the phonies and glory-hounds, in different, subtle ways, the focus tends to be on themselves. The glory-hounds get others unnecessarily hurt, the phonies can’t be relied on. Each fall short on issues of trust outside the intent of their own imbalanced fears and cravings.

Discerning the Game-Changers. So, of the more subtle catalysts underpinning the advancements of history to be found in Scripture are the relationships that might be described as those “forged by God.” These are ones that incorporate both leadership and the prophetic insight that grasps the needed response to significant passages of time..

Game-changer relationships are those like Moses and Joshua; and those of Paul and Barnabas whose alliances triggered the exponential of God’s intent. When God forges relationships, they count. Tangible fruit results when God becomes a part of the intensity and intentionality of those who wield His power, tipping the balance of the power shifts.

Game-changers being recognized also by the higher standard consistently upheld. Even more, when the status quo is being challenged and God is releasing a new thing. This was very much the case with Moses and Joshua, as well as Paul and Barnabas as they navigated and navigated the passages into new seasons.

The Pause of Consecration
Simultaneously, in fully facing times of change and birthing, it may be that the most spiritual thing needed in the passage is to hold steady. Holding steady may mean doing nothing. David’s chief misfire in finding relief in going over to the Philistines almost resulted in the loss of everything, in the time just prior to the passage when he was anointed king. Fortunately, he looked to the Lord, being reminded of God’s intentionality in the recovery of all things.

Solomon suggested the critical importance of gaining the wisdom to do the right thing at the right time. Such wisdom may require a pause, a pause of consecration, not unlike what Joshua called for prior to the amazing unfolding of events that followed Israel’s entrance into the Promised Land.
“For there is a proper time and procedure for every matter, though a person’s trouble is heavy upon them.” Eccl 8:6

One of the more subtle challenges facing believers during such passages of time is becoming so fixed on former strategies that the shifts in focus and direction are missed. It requires a high-level of stewardship, especially for those inclined to be doers. It is the stewardship in not getting stuck or getting the cart before the horse, so to speak.

Peter, whose impetuousness was both his strength and weakness finally got this right as he recognized the essence of what we are stewarding is the unfolding of God’s prophetic grace, an admonition to keep our efforts focused within the sphere of our gifting.
“Just as each one has received a gift, so minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.” 1 Peter 4:10

Indeed, it is the stewardship of His grace, through the strategic application of the gifts. Paul elaborates on the critical matter of this consecrated approach to our assignments, more so, as we encounter these passages giving birth to matters derived from the Father’s authority alone. Without this focus, we face being snared by the judgment that overshadowed the Pharisees and Judases.
“That is why many of you are weak and ill, and some have died.” 1 Cor 11:30

The Fear of God
The Lord spoke a very unusual word to Moses when He told him that He had made him like God to Pharaoh.

The power of God cannot be wielded without the fear of God. Yet Pharaoh’s contention was unwisely fueled as a contest, representing the mode that the voices of the dark side tend toward, even in this hour. The fear of God triggering for them both the challenge and the delusion, that they might somehow outwit it.

All of which underscores the significant need for consecration. As we face the current stage in the passage we’re now navigating, may the Lord grant us to wisdom and grace to:

  • Consistently and wisely discern God operating outside the box of our thinking
  • To be alert in discerning the set-times Father has established by His own authority
  • To discern God’s heart in bearing the burdens of ones He has connected us with
  • May Father confirm HIS many Words to us, manifesting them in and thru us
  • May our gifts and anointing be used to enhance the gaps for those assigned us
  • May our health and strength be restored to the health and strength of Caleb
  • May our thinking and prayers reflect “loving not our lives unto death”
  • When Jesus returns may He find faith in our homes, our family lines, our seed!!!

The Heart-cry. A passage in Proverbs 3 captures the depth of the needed heart-cry in navigating this passage between seasons.
“By his divine revelation he broke open the hidden fountains of the deep, bringing secret springs to the surface as the mist of the night dripped down from heaven. Never drift off course from these two goals for in life: to walk in wisdom and to discover discernment. Don’t ever forget how they empower you. For they strengthen you inside and out and inspire you to do what’s right; you will be energized and refreshed by the healing they bring. They give you living hope to guide you, and not one of life’s tests will cause you to stumble. You will sleep like a baby, safe and sound—your rest will be sweet and secure. You will not be subject to terror, for it will not terrify you. Nor will the disrespectful be able to push you aside, because God is your confidence in times of crisis, keeping your heart at rest in every situation.” Prov 3:20-26

Birth Pangs by Morris Ruddick

Birth-Pangs

Birth-Pangs by Morris Ruddick

Over the ages there has always been the game-changers, those whose impact has risen above the ordinary. But then, there have been those, who in giving birth to what they were called to do, have paid the ultimate cost. Not in vain, their lives have contributed to making the difference in the progression of this age-old conflict. Revelations points to them as those “who loved not their lives unto death.”

As we approach these days described as the beginning of birth-pains, or as the King James and New King James translate as the beginning of sorrows, Jesus pointed to a need for something more. It reflects an intentionality, a level of devotion and dedication needed among the elect. A reflection of overcompensating by staying consecrated and operating in His rest. When this dynamic manifests within the community, it releases a groundswell of the supernatural.

Community consecration, electrifies the process and the power; charging the spiritual atmosphere and triggering God’s wonders. Accompanying its impact are the birth-pangs of not just a new season, but the threshold of a new age. All combined, it begins releasing evidence of the high-point developments described in Revelations, the tipping of the scales, in this age-old clash between good and evil.

It was not so many years ago that I was acquainted with a man of God who was just such a game-changer. I had the highest respect and admiration for who was, as a unique voice for the Kingdom-thinking required for the age now before us. This man was prematurely killed in a plane crash.

Times and Dimensions Beyond the Ordinary
His message, his faith and the life he lived were over-to-top. On the two occasions, I had the honor of ministering on the same platform in which Myles Munroe was the featured speaker. We got to know one another and found we thought a lot alike. On one occasion, he called me forward to minister alongside him.

The tragedy of his death followed unusual opportunity and success. It reflected deep penetration into seemingly impenetrable lairs of darkness. Explaining this success, I remember him humbly telling me how God had given him a strategy to enable him to have the finances to minister to poor, remote communities around the world, that didn’t have the financial means to bring in special speakers, no less ones with the anointing and authority needed to confront the levels of entrenched darkness holding them captive. Myles did so at his own expense.

Considering that he had over a million on his mailing list, the strategy followed the thought that if only 10 percent gave a dollar a month, it would have a major impact on his revenue stream. With his dollar a month appeal, even more came forth.

What began unfolding quickly became incredible opportunity. Employing a private jet, the opportunity was enabled for his team to travel to remote areas. It was a genuine incursion into regions long considered the unchallenged domain of deep darkness, with amazing spiritual awakenings that resulted. And with his wife Ruth at his side, he pushed hard in capitalizing on this opportunity.

Yet, being acquainted with a range of prayer strategies employed by ministries making tangible Kingdom inroads into the deeper lairs of darkness, in retrospect, it wasn’t enough. The reality and need to overcompensate in intentionality requires more than the glow associated with preliminary success.

The deadliness of the backlash struck when returning to his home-base in the Bahamas during a storm. His jet came in too low and crashed. The world was cheated of his foresight and impact from this prescient Kingdom voice. It was later learned that the overworked pilots had miscalculated a most basic premise learned in flight training, for the field elevation needed in their landing.

When Standard Operating Procedures Require More
The story of Myles Munroe is a story that has happened over the ages all too often to ones like him. It reflects those emerging above the chaos and fray, with voices that penetrate the darkness, often impacting deep darkness.

So then, with evidence of that occurring and even amassing in recent months, it is time to pause, to reconsider priorities and the need to gather, to reconsecrate. To start reaching for that dimension labeled as “something more.”

Most recently, it was Charlie Kirk. There have been others. During biblical times, the book of Hebrews notes ones of their stature, whose voices provoked backlash that resulted in:
“…mockings and scourgings, of chains and imprisonment. They were stoned, sawn in two, tempted, slain with the sword. They wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins, destitute, afflicted, tormented— of whom the world was not worthy. Heb 11:36-38

The radical change that came to Paul the apostle’s life resulted in him reaching hard and reaching high. With reason, he wisely notes the costs involved in being a game-changer, one who ushers in these birth-pangs.
We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed—always carrying about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body.2 Cor 4:8-10

Concluding this observation, Paul states that despite these costs, we are not to lose heart. Nevertheless, in an atmosphere with such extreme realities and costs, pressing forward offers strong reason for reflection and for those who are especially wise, for introspection.

James warned that the standard required of being a voice for God is high. Especially when the clamor is intense. Yet even Jesus refused to allow the conflict to digress into a debate. Paul got it right in pointing to the demonstration of the Spirit in power.
“And my speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, that your faith should not be in the wisdom of men but in the power of God.” I Cor 2:4-5

Birth-Pangs and God Arising
The story of Job illustrates the birth-pangs tied to when only God’s intervention will do. We’re at the door of that threshold.

The story of Job reflects the cost tied to God arising and the season changing. Job grappled with a number of serious issues confronting a man of his stature and community influence. The stance, the loss and challenge had relational roots, with it being only the tip of the iceberg.

The underlying issues ranged from the trivia of the backbiting of those Job presumed to be friends, to him having to intervene with sacrifices for the unrighteous behavior of his party-prone kids. Along with the toxic response of his wife when the bottom dropped out, once God unveiled His intent for Job, their future ties with Job were either eliminated or left to the discretion of Job’s prayers.

A pretty heavy judgment for the indiscretion of failing to recognize the stature of Job, whose role had buoyed their own standing, in the season-change upon them.

Lures, Blind-Spots and Signs of the Times
Now, at issue, in this current emerging season, as we engage with the standard noted in Revelation, is the spiritual alertness to avoid the debilitating lures that come from the love of the world, the lust of the flesh and the pride of life. Not unlike the wayward and vocal members of Job’s family and friends, they represent the lures, the blind-spots to becoming casualties for the wrong reasons.

So, it is not without precedent that our journey of life holds before us what God posed to the Jews in Deuteronomy 30, that of traversing that narrow corridor between life and death.

While Jesus’ Matthew 24 description of the beginning of birth pains becomes far more explicit, He highlights the indicators, whereas Ezekiel (38) gives additional insight into matters of timing, the principality-source and the bottom-line intent of Israel’s destruction.

Matthew 24 points to there being wars and rumors of wars, earthquakes and violent shifts in the earth, increased lawlessness and deception, accompanied by growing hatred and persecution of any who identify as God’s people, along with the many of those sufficiently blinded by the love of the world, the lust of the flesh or the pride of life ….that the overwhelming nature of the atmosphere would result in their faith growing cold.

The revealing glimpse Ezekiel had into these “times of birthing” specifically begins with a time of peace for Israel, followed by Magog’s surprise initiative against them, all of which will initiate an overwhelming response from on-High.

Staying Focused as Change Takes Root
Regardless of the interpretation of where we currently find ourselves on this timeline, it is clear that the season of birth-pangs has begun. As the signs of persecution and anti-Semitism gain traction, the impact will extend from the game-changers, to all who are known by His name. All.

Wisdom shouts for the need to compensate, giving focus to the steps required from being overwhelmed. A response that must begin with avoiding isolation.

Simultaneously, intentionally staying focused requires protecting yourself from the distortions and hype of the fray. This ranges from the rants so prevalent in “breaking news” and across social media, with the lures of finger pointing, history revisionism and speculative eschatology.

Each spewing hatred, uncertainty, fear and unrest. Each being distractions from the needed focus described in Revelations in facing these days by the blood of the Lamb, the word of their testimony and loving not their lives unto death. Each being key.

At the crux of this ministry is the reach and wisdom “to understand the times, to know what to do.” Having personally reached the juncture of being an octogenarian, wisdom shouts to keep your hand to the plow and avoid presumption. It demands an outlook that considers anything developing beyond such a sharp focus should be considered a gift of God.

Intentionality with Equalizing and Overcoming
So, in facing the birth-pangs, the issue demands being intentional about the focus. Again, it includes avoiding being overwhelmed. It involves staying connected. And proactively pushing yourself back from the fray. Giving heed to embracing the mindset and attitude that manifests with priority given to embracing the blood of the Lamb, the word of your testimony …..and loving not your life unto death.

Intentionality. It’s worth checking yourself, simply considering what intentionality your life reflects.

These words from the resurrected Jesus in Revelation do contain the elements applied efficiently and strategically, by believers in post-1975 Vietnam after losing their freedoms. With great impact on the course of their nation, through simple gatherings of what proved to be “birthing-prayer” efforts, these desperate believers responded with a model needed for the times ahead.

The blood of the Lamb gives sharp focus to Jesus’ sacrificial death in making the atonement needed for Life in the crucible of this conflict. The power and cleansing is in the blood. The ancient, eternal blood covenant. Representing one of those spiritual mysteries that wields authority and power, it has ties to the Christian practice of the Lord’s Supper, the Jewish Passover and the Abrahamic covenant of bread and wine that took place with Melchizedek.

The word of our testimony is simply always being prepared with the answer to why our life of faith must be so intentional. I recall years ago, despite all the experiences and revelations that Paul had, that he never got over His encounter with the resurrected Jesus on the road to Damascus. The game-changing role that his life reflected, always came back to the testimony of what it was that changed him.

And then, it involves the perspective of the cause …..of loving not your life unto death. I’ve expressed before that people may live for a vision, but will die for a cause. The reality of our journey with God must always have its focus on our undivided love and devotion for the Lord, not the journey.

Preparing the Spiritual Atmosphere by Morris Ruddick

Preparing the Spiritual Atmosphere by Morris Ruddick

With spiritual maturity will come responsibility. With responsibility will come conflict. And yet, spiritual maturity and responsibility, more often will begin with conflict.

God’s original assignment for man was that of dominion. From the time of the Fall, through the ages, to the glimpse of the climax seen by John on Patmos, the trajectory for God’s people has been that of restoration. A trajectory historically accompanied by ample conflict.

It is the restoration of the beacon flowing ….with what it means to be a culture within a culture. It is the authority and anointing that accompanies maturity. It releases the power to embrace the responsibility.

And it requires the preparation to enable the Lord to do His part in taking the offensive ….in the strategic change of restoration in this age-old conflict. The process of this mandate was captured uniquely during a time of conflict with the words God imparted to Jeremiah:
“You are my battle-axe and weapon of war. Through you, I will break nations in pieces. Through you, I will destroy kingdoms and strongholds. And I will repay Babylon and Chaldea.” Jer 51:20, 24

This dramatic assignment conforms with those gleaned by Isaiah, Ezekiel and Daniel ….along with the prophetic highlights imparted to John by Jesus of the final conflict when God’s people make their final stand against the prince of darkness.

This execution of this dual-thrust of God and His people …..merging the authority and anointing of God’s people taking their stand …..with the unlimited power from on High, requires the preparation of the spiritual atmosphere.

When the Authority and Anointing Combine with Unity
This preparation was captured, as the leadership and generation-changed, with the Lord’s instructions to Joshua before taking the offensive in entering the promised land.

The time when Joshua replaced Moses was dramatic. With the extended judgment having passed, with the exception of Joshua and Caleb, it comprised a new and very eager generation. The words, engendering expectation and faith, that came from the Lord were strong and direct. It was time. The Lord was about to demonstrate His awesome power in fulfilling His promises. But there were conditions to be met by God’s people.

The people faced a time of getting ready, meaningfully preparing for a season beyond their expectations. Overshadowing the readiness task was its link to preparing the spiritual atmosphere.

Through consecration, they were about to become a part of change so powerful, it would impact everything in the path before them. THe words of Joshua that the Lord was about to do wonders among them, fails to fully capture the realities they were about to encounter. They had heard about the parting of the Red Sea. But this would be beyond anything they had ever experienced.

The cost began with their preparation …..the consecration. This preparation, together with God’s power, would lead into taking the actions that would electrify and change the spiritual atmosphere ….and release wonders.
“So consecrate yourselves, for the Lord will do wonders among you.” Joshua 3:5

Consecrate means to set apart; to be devoted irrevocably to God, to His Holy purposes. It entails ridding oneself ….which ranges from mind-sets to behaviors ….of anything contrary to one’s identity-in-God and the divine assignment at hand.

This dynamic of preparation is twofold. First it took place not just on an individual and tribal basis, but on a national basis. AND this generation of Israel was “all-in.”
“So they answered Joshua, saying, “All that you command us we will do, and wherever you send us we will go. Just as we heeded Moses in all things, so we will heed you. Only the LORD your God be with you, as He was with Moses. Whoever rebels against your command and does not heed your words, in all that you command him, shall be put to death. Only be strong and of good courage.” Joshua 1:16-18

Secondly, the preparation was short-lived. It was the spiritual re-boot needed to move forward in taking the action needed to align with the thrust intended by the Spirit of the Lord.

The Cost for God’s Purpose of Restoration
Understanding God’s age-old pattern of restoration helps in grasping the focus of the assignment for God’s people with priorities that come from on High, from age to age. It reflects the dynamic that has taken place from Moses to Joshua to David ….to the climax of the confrontations of evil in John’s Revelations.

The significance in the preparation in each of these head-on confrontations with evil …..is that they would begin with changing the spiritual atmosphere.

It is preparation that is not designed to take on a life of its own, but rather to prepare for action. Action that will not presume, but be accompanied by the evidence of “wonders” from on-High. The preparation is accompanied by the commitment needed …..to avoid the love of the world, the lust of the flesh and the pride of life.

Perhaps a glimmer of insight might be found in the circumstances faced by believers who reside in today’s Iran …whose lives have aligned with living according to the standard expressed in John of “the blood of the Lamb and the word of their testimony, loving their lives not unto death.”

Pretty severe? When it is recognized that the destination intended by the subtleties of darkness is death, it is not. Joshua outlined the practicalities:
“Only be strong and very courageous, that you may observe to do according to all the law which Moses My servant commanded you; do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may prosper wherever you go. This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.” Joshua 1:7-8

The Stance that Releases God’s Wonders
“Being all-in” takes strength and courage to adhere to the standard, as well as the discipline needed to ensure it is maintained as the top-of-mind priority. It also entails the cost of one’s identity in the Lord being sufficient to becoming a specific target ….and the process admonished in John that goes with embracing the blood of the Lamb with the word of their testimony …that of loving not their lives unto death.

Maintaining such a stance engenders being released into a place under the shadow of His wings. AND with that, an authority that accompanies the assignment. As the dynamic manifests and takes root, it captures the attention of that “great cloud of witnesses” described in the Book of Hebrews.

Despite a world that views priorities and issues through the lens of geopolitics, the focus from on-High represents something far greater, yet far more subtle. That priority is the cause of freedom. Genuine freedom underscores the Jewish Torah message and the principles in governing and operating a God-centric society. Freedom bears significance in God’s “order,” a matter deemed worth fighting for, despite our misplaced loss of the significance of God’s order in the Hebrew word “shalom” or peace.

Recent Generation Examples of Atmosphere Change
Changing the spiritual atmosphere, as indicated by the admonition to consecrate, begins with the household of faith. But it doesn’t stop there. It gleans the instructions for moving into action. The only question then is what does that action, that culture-penetrating action from on-high look like in a twenty-first century world.

Perhaps we can gain insight from a review of what we would call “moves of God” that have taken place in the last generation. There has been one factor tied to each that has accompanied this reach for consecration. Likewise, in each instance there has been a correlation between these moves of God and a significant advancement of what God has been doing in modern-day Israel. These developments have been noted in previous posts for SIGN, yet are worthy of even closer examination.

The first took place in 1948 when, with amazing circumstances, against all odds in a time of war, this age-old process of restoration resulted in, once again within the Land promised to Abraham, of Israel becoming a nation. Just as amazingly, in that same year, in the US alone, 250 healing ministries began gaining attention ….with the restoration of the supernatural that was being demonstrated, having not been seen for some time even close to this level.

Then in another time of conflict in Israel, in 1967, Israel regained control of Jerusalem. Similarly, two key dynamics were underway within the Church. There was a massive move of God among Jews coming to the Lord ….yet uniquely maintaining their Jewish identities in a movement being labeled as the Messianic Jewish revival.

Simultaneously and accompanied by some overlap was the Jesus movement and restoration of the gifts of the Spirit within the Church that began being referred to as the Charismatic Renewal. Since that time, the Messianic Jewish congregations in the US have grown from a mere handful to over a thousand, with its spread manifesting internationally. In Israel, the call of Aliyah that began in those days has resulted in a third generation of an Israeli Messianic Jewish community, now being over 30,000.

The Subtle Catalyst for Birthing and Change
The thread that has accompanied each of these developments has been the groundswell of independent and coordinated prayer movements.

Today, many are now pointing to the October 7th conflict and the resulting war with Iran as being the flashpoint for this next step of restoration from on-High. Never has there been a time in this last generation when the call to prepare, to consecrate for what the Lord is about to do, been more critical.

Globally, a mosaic of Kingdom-initiatives are in the birthing stages. Globally, the prayer movements that accompanied the birth of Israel and then Israel regaining control of Jerusalem are gaining in unity. It represents a groundswell from nations from across sub-Haharan Afrika to nations across Asia ….each monitoring news developments regarding what God has been doing in the restoration of Israel.

The thrust of this ministry has long been in understanding the times, to know what to do. In paying heed to this focus, it is a time when those prepared, consecrated …..and gathering to pray …..would begin to recognize the authority they wield to change the spiritual atmosphere ….for what the Lord is about to do.

Gaining Clarity, Focus and Momentum
Likewise, it is a time to recognize and bypass the mounting, seductive distractions to gain clarity and unity in mobilizing the strategic prayer-initiatives being birthed globally.

These prayer-initiatives target the parallel move of God of restoration that the Lord is doing simultaneously in Israel and within the Church. The “next-step” of restoration from on-High from the steps the Lord has already orchestrated in 1948 and 1967 following the dramatic outcomes of the military conflicts that Israel underwent in those days.

In discerning these next steps, many have begun pointing to a massive move of Aliyah, the return of the Jews to their homeland, and I wouldn’t disagree. It will be a part. But there is more. Much more and we need to be focused, consecrated and mobilized.

While the events of 1948 and 1967 have manifested with a keen role played by the Church in the US, what is before us will also, but will shift globally to incorporate key roles played by the emergence of the persecuted and oppressed in the Church’s move of restoration.

So, as these days unfold, it is a time to be living consecrated lifestyles, to be giving keen heed to the regular practice of communion, to giving pause in praying for those who have spitefully used and been the persecutors. Doing so will release the clarity needed for the big-picture as this grand-strategy of mobilization conforms to what the Lord will be doing from on-High. It’s a time to bypass personal tripping points in order to penetrate and take authority over the shadows concealed by darkness. It’s a time to run, not walk in being connected, whether in going two-by-two or in gathering to pray with interactive, small prayer groups.

The Apostle Paul wrote the Ephesians about the correlation between spiritual maturity, this momentum and each one doing his part. As God spoke to Jeremiah of those things He would do through Jeremiah ….to break nations in pieces, destroy kingdoms and strongholds, with those wonders being established, there would come a time when He would sovereignly deal with Babylon and Chaldea, the age-old princes behind the world’s and darkness’ powers. It all begins with “so consecrate yourselves,” as we prepare the spiritual atmosphere for what He is about to do.
