Israel announces attack on Syria
Monday, July 04, 2016 | Israel Today Staff
The IDF spokesman Monday reported attacks on two Syrian military targets in response to cross-border fire adjacent to Israel’s northern security fence. Two Syrian Army targets were identified and direct artillery strikes were recorded and the targets were destroyed.
Although the Syrian fire did not endanger local residents or security forces, the IDF stated it is "determined to respond to any irregular incident."
The spokesman noted that Israel has no intention of interfering in the Syrian civil war. The the locations of the fire from Syria nor the Israeli response were not reported.
In an unusual move Israel only announced the IDF response a day after the incident.
