Over the weekend, The New York Times caused an uproar of anger on social media after it published an op-ed showcasing a report that detailed the happiest of American wives identify as religious conservatives.
"It turns out that the happiest of all wives in America are religious conservatives, followed by their religious progressive counterparts," The New York Times Opinion wrote in a tweet.
The study was conducted by three professors, W. Bradford Wilcox, professor of sociology at the University of Virginia; Jason S. Carroll, a professor of marriage and family studies at Brigham Young University; and Laurie DeRose, an adjunct lecturer in the sociology department at Georgetown University.

It is good for brethren to dwell together, and so we did, and so we shall continue to as much as we possibly can. Chaim Malespin, the Director of the Aliyah Return Center near Tiberias, Israel in the Galilee region came to the Charlotte, NC area for several days. He had an interview with Sid Roth's It's Supernatural, has an upcoming public event with the Highway To Zion ministry (see below for Friday's gathering info where all are welcome), and met with these men pictured, coming from five churches and ministries in the Charlotte, NC/Fort Mill, SC areas.
After my wife Laurie and I spent three days May 3-5, 2019, at the Aliyah Return Center, missing Chaim with him being out of the country, I had the great joy of meeting him today. Though I was at the Jerusalem Aliyah Conference in October 2018 where I first heard Chaim speak, it wasn't until now that we actually met. What a connection in the Lord.
Jew and Gentile - coming together for the Lord's purposes to be fulfilled in the end of times!

Last May, a handful of people gathered near the National Mall in Washington, D.C., to share how Christ set them free from homosexuality.
On May 25, they'll meet again. This time, they'll have hundreds added to their ranks proclaiming that freedom is possible.
Charisma News spoke with several "Overcomers," that is, men and women who have left homosexuality, including Freedom March Founder Jeffrey McCall. You can listen to their stories by clicking on the podcasts at the end of the article.
Since 2018's inaugural march, the group led a rally in Los Angeles and has two planned in St. Paul and Orlando in addition to D.C.
As for D.C.'s second march, McCall shared how the movement has shifted in the last year and what he expects in a few weeks.
Charisma News: How are you feeling now that you're approaching the anniversary of the original Freedom March?
Jeffrey McCall: I am so excited. The first Freedom March actually landed on my birthday last year, so every year for my birthday, I get to celebrate the birthday of the Freedom March. It's just so exciting to see how much the Freedom March has grown. I can't believe just how close it has brought people from all over the country. It's created the "Freedom Family" with overcomers uniting from all over the country.
CN: How has the movement changed over the last year?
JM: The movement has grown so much. We are just continuing to share the testimonies of people who have left LGBTQ lifestyles to follow Jesus. We continue this movement, but with new people getting to share every year.
CN: What have you changed about your tactics in planning/executing the march?
JM: We have changed the march to have more testimonies together in between worship and opened up time at the end to minister to the people.
CN: Why hold Freedom Marches in multiple locations?
JM: It was actually M.J. Nixon's idea to travel and take the March from D.C. to other cities. We thought it was a great idea to pull people together for cities in their states to host a Freedom March and publicly proclaim Jesus in their own areas.
CN: What miracles are you seeing on the front lines?
JM: We are seeing miracles. People from all over this country are leaving LGBTQ lifestyles to follow Jesus Christ. When they see us, what we're doing and standing for, it shows them the power of God and that He wants us too.
CN: How are you battling principalities in cities like D.C., LA, St. Paul and Orlando?
JM: When we come united, it's like the power of the blood of Jesus goes before us, and principalities can't do anything. Whether we contend in cities with spiritual powers or not, we know that we have the victory, and we walk in with our heads high knowing Jesus chose us, and we walk out of that city knowing we have accomplished what God destined us to do in that city.
CN: What are your goals for this year's marches?
JM: My goals for this year's Freedom March is to grow and have more of the body of Christ to come out and support us! We want all brothers and sisters in Christ to come hear the stories and to unify with us in marching, proclaiming, 'Jesus is Lord'!
CN: What has the Holy Spirit told you about this upcoming march?
JM: The Holy Spirit has shown me these three marches this year—D.C., St. Paul and Orlando—will really put the Freedom March on the map. It will have really explosively grown this year and will begin the revival that will occur in the LGBTQ community!
CN: How has the Holy Spirit fulfilled previous dreams/visions about the marches?
JM: The Holy Spirit has truly fulfilled the dream of what I saw the march becoming. It's been awesome because I received a word that people would come alongside me and help me, and that word came true! Without the Freedom March board, it would not be what it has become today. It's been amazing teamwork!
CN: How can people get involved?
JM: People can get involved by helping us with donations and prayers. We have to raise a lot of money to put these things together. We actually have all the people we need to fulfill these marches; we just need financial support. We would also like people to keep us covered in prayers. Our website is info@freedomtomarch.com; we also have a "Freedom March" Facebook page.
CN: What else would you like to add?
JM: We are all so honored to share what Jesus has done in our lives. We all left the LGBTQ life to follow Jesus, and our surrender is producing great fruit for the kingdom of God. We are so excited that many more are coming out and experiencing the freedom from sexual bondage that only Jesus can give. He is a chain breaker, and He has paid for all to be free! So we hope everyone comes out and supports what we are doing!
Join us in Washington, D.C., May 25; St. Paul, Minnesota, June 23; and Orlando on Sept. 14.

Can you name the major west coast city that has become a rotting, decaying hellhole and is being completely overwhelmed by rats, drugs, crime, piles of garbage and hordes of homeless people? Of course San Francisco, Portland, Seattle, “all of them” and “any of them” would all be correct answers, but in this article we are going to talk about Los Angeles.
Once upon a time, millions of young Americans flocked to “sunny L.A.” in order to experience “the California Dream”, but these days Los Angeles seems to be on the cutting edge of many of our most critical societal problems. L.A. has been known for Hollywood, the porn industry and world-class traffic congestion, but now it is also becoming famous for “rat-infested piles of rotting garbage”…
Rat-infested piles of rotting garbage left uncollected by the city of Los Angeles, even after promises to clean it up, are fueling concerns about a new epidemic after last year’s record number of flea-borne typhus cases.
Even the city’s most notorious trash pile, located between downtown LA’s busy Fashion and Produce districts, continues to be a magnet for rats after it was cleaned up months ago. The rodents can carry typhus-infected fleas, which can spread the disease to humans through bacteria rubbed into the eyes or cuts and scrapes on the skin, resulting in severe flu-like symptoms.
Today, approximately 18.7 million people live in the Los Angeles metropolitan area, and many fear that the rat population may exceed the human population at this point.
When garbage and filth are everywhere, rats can breed exceedingly quickly. In fact, under ideal conditions, two rats can become 482 million rats in just three years.
But in Los Angeles, the I-Team learned there is no plan or program to control the growing rat population that feasts at trash piles like the one on Ceres Avenue.
“It’s something that we’ll look into,” said Pepe Garica, of Los Angeles’ bureau of sanitation.
Officials at Los Angeles’ City Hall are considering ripping all of the building’s carpets up, as rats and fleas are said to be running riot in its halls.
A motion was filed by Council President Herb Wesson on Wednesday to enact the much needed makeover amid a typhus outbreak in the downtown area.
Wesson said a city employee had contracted the deadly bacterial disease at work, and now he’s urging officials to investigate the ‘scope’ of the long-running pest problem at the council building.
Meanwhile, the homeless population continues to multiply as well.
Nearly 15,000 homeless encampment cleanups were conducted last year in Los Angeles, a process that begins with officers clearing people from the area before sanitation workers remove trash and other items.
The cleanups cost taxpayers millions of dollars, but some residents who live near the encampments said they are usually repopulated soon after sanitation crews are done. It’s a seemingly endless cycle that leads neighbors to ask whether there are better ways to spend that tax money.
In other words, Los Angeles is cleaning up an average of 41 homeless encampments every single day.
Overall, Los Angeles spent a whopping 619 million dollars on the homeless problem last year, but it just continues to get even worse.
Of course wherever there is homelessness there is crime, and those that live in downtown L.A. are getting fed up…
“Everyone living, working in, or visiting downtown has noticed the rapidly deteriorating conditions,” downtown resident Catherine Tomiczek told the committee. She said a friend was beaten and robbed on the street and a neighbor was stabbed in her building.
Councilman Paul Krekorian, who heads the committee, said he would request the information sought by the group. Major crimes downtown increased 6.7 percent this year compared with the same period in 2018, according to LAPD crime data through April 13.
Much of the violent crime is fueled by the drug trade, and according to DEA agent Bob Thomas Los Angeles is definitely a national hub for drug activity…
In a middle class neighborhood in Los Angeles a house is surrounded by crime tape. A young man had lost his life to drugs inside.
It’s happened a record 72,000 times last year in the United States and Los Angeles is a big part of the problem.
“Drug cartels send their stuff to LA, where it’s distributed across the nation,” DEA agent Bob Thomas said.
Further up the California coastline, northern California is being absolutely overwhelmed by a meth epidemic that is completely out of control. Just consider these shocking numbers…
Since 2011, emergency room visits related to meth in San Francisco have jumped 600% to 1,965 visits in 2016, the last year for which ER data is available. Admissions to the hospital are up 400% to 193, according to city public health data. And at San Francisco General Hospital, of 7,000 annual psychiatric emergency visits last year, 47% were people who were not necessarily mentally ill — they were high on meth.
“As California goes, so goes the nation” is a phrase that people like to use, but we better hope that it isn’t true, because California is going down the toilet.
And as our planet continues to become increasingly unstable, scientists assure us that it is only a matter of time before “the Big One” hits the state. Earlier today, northern California was shaken by a magnitude 3.8 earthquake, and one of these days a truly catastrophic quake is coming.
In recent years, approximately five million people have packed up and moved to another state, and you can’t really blame them for leaving.
At this point I can’t really think of any reason why anyone would want to live in California.
Can you?
Four years ago, a Christian high school junior was compelled by her teacher at La Plata High School in La Plata, Md., to recall the Islamic conversion creed – the Shahada – as part of a written assignment. She was required to write the Islamic creed, "There is no god but Allah, and Muhammad is the messenger of Allah."
The World History course also taught that "Most Muslims' faith is stronger than the average Christian's."
Caleigh Wood refused to complete the assignment, believing that is it is a sin to profess by word or in writing, that there is any other god except the Christian God.
School officials refused to let her opt out of the course, and as a result she received a lower percentage grade for the course, but that did not affect her letter grade.
The Thomas More Law Center (TMLC) on behalf of the Wood family filed a lawsuit, claiming the school had violated the First Amendment Establishment Clause and the girl's right not to be forced to profess faith in another religion. Both the Federal District Court and the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals ruled in favor of the high school's Islamic curriculum.
Now, the TMLC has appealed the case to the Supreme Court asking the high court to decide whether any legal basis exists to allow public schools to discriminate against Christianity while at the same time promoting Islam.
"Under the guise of teaching history or social studies, public schools across America are promoting the religion of Islam in ways that would never be tolerated for Christianity or any other religion," TMLC President and Chief Counsel Richard Thompson said in a statement. "I'm not aware of any school which has forced a Muslim student to write the Lord's Prayer or John 3:16: 'For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.'"
Using a Powerpoint presentation in the class, the students at the school were also taught:
Islam is a peaceful religion
Jihad is a "personal struggle in devotion to Islam, especially involving spiritual discipline."
"To Muslims, Allah is the same God that is worshiped in Christianity and Judaism."
"Men are the managers of the affairs of women" and "Righteous women are therefore obedient."
"Many public schools have become a hotbed of Islamic propaganda," Thompson continued. "Teaching Islam in schools has gone far beyond a basic history lesson. Prompted by zealous Islamic activism and emboldened by confusing court decisions, schools are now bending over backward to promote Islam while at the same time denigrate Christianity."
"We are asking the Supreme Court to provide the necessary legal guidance to resolve the insidious discrimination against Christians in our public schools," he concluded.
