‘Our duty to future generations’ - Outgoing Mossad chief Barnea says 'time to complete job in Iran’ All Israel News

Outgoing Mossad chief David Barnea said he believes the overthrow the Iranian regime is “a possible and achievable goal,” calling it an obligation for future generations.

Barnea spoke at the change of command ceremony Monday evening, which was attended by various Israeli leaders and politicians, including Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and President Isaac Herzog.

During his remarks, Barnea spoke of his work to thwart the Iranian regime from acquiring nuclear weapons and the outstanding threat posed by its leaders.

“I pledged that Iran will never have nuclear weapons,” Barnea stated. “Today, when the Iranian regime is weakened, challenged and more vulnerable, it is time to complete the task and to get revenge on the regime that has set its sights on destroying us.”

“We are in the midst of a historic and important campaign,” Barnea continued. “I believed, and I still believe, that changing the reality in Iran by changing the regime is a possible and achievable goal.”

Barnea said the toppling of the Islamic Republic’s regime remains “our duty to future generations.”

“It is a possible mission, and it is clear that this will require determination, patience and adherence to the goal,” Barnea emphasized. “This is our duty to future generations. This mission must remain at the top of our priorities.”

While Barnea publicly thanked Netanyahu for his “bold decisions” which enabled Israel to achieve surprising upsets against Iran, Netanyahu revealed that it was Barnea who pushed to carry out the pager attack against Hezbollah and the assassination of long-time leader Sheikh Hassan Nasrallah.

Both moves contributed to the collapse of the Assad regime in Syria and the weakening of the Iranian axis.

Netanyahu thanked Barnea for his 30 years of service in the Mossad and the “notable successes and achievements” of the past couple of years.

“Great things were accomplished during your tenure,” Netanyahu told Barnea. “This farewell event seals your tenure at the helm of the Mossad. These have been five intense and dramatic years - some of the most fateful years in our history.”

“Thank you for 30 years of dedicated service in the Mossad, and special thanks for the past few years, which have yielded notable successes and achievements for the benefit of Israel's security,” Netanyahu continued.

Netanyahu spoke about the pager operation, which he called "a major turning point in the campaign," telling Barnea, "You stood firm against the skeptics when you showed me what was expected to happen.”

According to him, Barnea was one who persistently pushed for more operations, believing Israel had a strategic opportunity.

“The pagers, the elimination of Nasrallah, which you also stood firm on, the severe blow to Hezbollah's leadership, and the subsequent collapse of the Assad regime in Syria - are milestones in the process of crushing the Iranian axis of evil,” Netanyahu said. “The Mossad's miraculous capabilities combined with the IDF's tremendous capabilities brought us to the peak of our power.”

Netanyahu also spoke of the collapse of the regime, saying, "Anyone who plots evil against Israel will know that his plots will fail. The price he will pay will be extremely heavy. The price that Iran has already paid is very heavy. The foundations of this regime of terror in Iran have been cracked. It will not return to what it was, and I tell you - it will eventually fall.”

Herzog also spoke, praising the Mossad’s achievements under Barnea, noting that he built extensive intelligence partnerships and deepened its operational capabilities inside Iran.

The change-of-command ceremony was also attended by incoming Mossad Chief Roman Gofman, whose appointment Barnea had opposed.

Barnea turned to Gofman, wishing him success, and stating, “Your success is the success of the Mossad and the success of the State of Israel. The Mossad you receive is a powerful organization, sharp-minded, creative and determined to achieve every task. The women and men of the Mossad will stand side by side with you in the face of the many challenges, and I am sure that together, you will continue to turn imagination into reality, set bold goals and achieve them for the sake of Israel's security.”

"The Lord directs our steps." Message by Steve Martin

The Lord directs my steps.

The Lord promises to walk with us. He directs our steps as we commit ourselves to His plans and purposes.

On my way to Texas, June 1, 2026, at the Charlotte North Carolina Delta counter, a nice, short black lady, named Brenda, came up to me at the kiosk and helped me tremendously. This was at the start of my month-long journey to be with three from Jerusalem, Christian Friends of Israel staff.

She got my luggage all set to eliminate the bag fees I had already pre-paid (guitar at $100!); signed me up for a special card to eliminate any future luggage fees; went and got my boarding passes through Atlanta to Dallas; and put “Expedite” on my 2 checked bags.

She asked about my trip to Texas so I told her, and then showed her photos of Jerusalem. She praised the Lord.

And then she proceeded to tell me of her family. So I prayed for her right by the  counter as people walked by.

And SHE was then blessed. Yeah Lord!

“Remembrance, Multiply, Educate, Bless, and have return” - prophetic word

Prophetic word from Jeremy Lopez to Steve Martin July 7, 2025

Note: I believe in receiving personal, prophetic words. I encourage you to also do, as they hopefully are given to you by respected, anointed prophetic people using the gift of prophecy.

“Remembrance, Multiply, Educate, Bless, and have return”

“Son, I want you to know something that in this hour I am calling you to call back your

resources. You have a lot of resources in you, you have a lot of knowledge in you, and son I am

taking you back, believe it or not, I am taking you back to the past. I am taking you back to the

place in the past where there were things you utilized that were empowering to you and I am

bringing those things back up to the surface for you.

Meaning there is some knowledge and education you once had that you don’t utilize anymore but

I am going to see to it that you are going to use that again because I have great plans for you to

begin to start bringing more of your knowledge and wisdom up to the surface.

In this hour you will begin to find yourself in a place where these things will start coming back

up to you and you will begin to understand more about you utilizing your whole brain. I am

going to cause all your knowledge and wisdom to be utilized in this hour because there is

strategies that need to be given.

There are so many things you have with inside you that need to be given out to people. In this

season you will begin to find yourself in a place where literally people begin to say, “Do you

remember what you told me a couple of years ago” and you are going to say, “Actually I do

remember.”

You are going to have such a mind of remembrance, a mind of remembrance. I am going to cause

you to remember to remember to remember. What that means to you is that I am going to cause

you to begin to go back and remember things from years ago. Even some things from your

childhood, I am going to cause you to remember. Nothing bad by far but all good. Because that’s

how sharp a brain I am bringing to you.

I am giving a sharp mind of things that you won’t forget about.

I am going to cause you to use your mind for many years to come on strategies but also know

how to begin to divide things, knowing how to begin to multiply things. Knowing how to begin

to bring additions to things.

We are not talking about mathematics; we are talking about the game of life. The game of life

where you will find yourself at a place where you will begin to know how to divide, you will

know how to add things to people’s lives. You will know how to subtract and pull things out of

people’s lives that don’t need to be there. You will find that where you will begin to try to help

people and teach them how to multiply. Multiply their seed for sowing. Multiply their money.

2

Multiply their anointing. Multiply their relationship with God. Multiply their prayer life with

God.

You will teach people all these different techniques because you have wisdom in you to know

how to cipher through what is blocking them, and yet what is needing to be released in them.

This is an hour where I am going to cause even the working of your hands to be anointed. I will

cause the working of your hands to be anointed. Anointed with power.

You are anointed. You are anointed to break yokes off of work places, and even your finances.

In this hour you will see that I will literally break a pattern that has been a cycle over your

finances for a number of years. I am going to break that cycle this hour to where you are able to

see the power of multiplication, the power of productivity.

In this season get ready to see things beginning to change with you and beginning to see even

changes and siftings going on with relationships around you of people you are going to begin to

empower because you are going to give them knowledge and it’s going to begin to cause them to

reward you back and bless you back.

So, get ready to see these things happen. Because as you bless others you are going to see a

multitude of people come back to bless you as well.

Get ready to see these things begin to happen for truly you are in the right season where things

are ripe and ready for harvest.

Last season was not the best for you. You didn’t see a whole lot of productivity. But in this

season I will cause things to be ripe and ready for harvest.”

After 44 years, Israel recaptures Beaufort Castle – Why the Crusader fortress is a strategic stronghold in southern Lebanon J. Micah Hancock | Published: May 31, 2026

After 44 years, Israel recaptures Beaufort Castle – Why the Crusader fortress is a strategic stronghold in southern Lebanon J. Micah Hancock |

Following the IDF's announcement of the capture of Beaufort Castle this morning, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called it “a dramatic change” in Israel’s policy regarding Lebanon.

“Last night, our heroic fighters captured the Beaufort castle. They proudly raised the flag of the State of Israel and the flag of the Golani Brigade there,” Netanyahu told the Israeli public.

“I remind you that 44 years ago, this place was a symbol of a heroic battle by our fighters, but it was also a symbol of deep division among us,” Netanyahu continued, referring to the IDF's capture of the fort during Israel’s 1982 incursion into southern Lebanon, which was launched to combat Palestinian militant groups operating from the area.

“Today, we returned to Beaufort differently,” Netanyahu said. “We returned united, determined, and stronger than ever.”

The prime minister said that since the start of the Oct. 7 war, Israel has “eliminated 8,000 Hezbollah terrorists.” He said that 3,000 of those Hezbollah operatives were killed during Operation Roaring Lion, with 700 eliminated in the past month alone.

“This is more than everyone we eliminated during the Second Lebanon War,” he stated, referring to Israel’s conflict against Hezbollah in 2006.

“Our forces have crossed the Litani River. They took dominant terrain. They captured the Beaufort ridge,” the prime minister stated. “And now my instruction is to deepen and expand our hold on places that were under Hezbollah's control.”

“The capture of Beaufort is a dramatic stage and a dramatic change in the policy we are leading,” he continued. “We have broken the barrier of fear. We are taking the initiative, we are operating on all fronts – in Syria, in Gaza, in Lebanon; we have established security zones beyond our borders to protect our communities.”

Netanyahu also promised to bring security to the northern communities, saying, "It will take time, but we will complete the mission.”

Defense Minister Israel Katz also mentioned the history of Beaufort Castle, noting the IDF Golani Brigade’s work in capturing it 44 years later.

“I salute the Golani fighters and all IDF fighters who wrote another chapter of Israeli heroism in the place where our heroes fell for the homeland,” Katz wrote on his social media account.

The recapture of the historical site raises the question: What makes Beaufort Castle so strategically important?

The IDF first seized the fortress on June 6, 1982, after Palestinian militants had occupied it. In the early 1980s, thePalestine Liberation Organization (PLO) took control of the castle and used it to launch attacks into Israeli territory as part of its insurgency campaign. When Israel launched Operation Peace for Galilee, marking the start of the First Lebanon War, the IDF conducted a large-scale assault to seize the fortress and the surrounding high ground as part of its opening maneuvers.

While ultimately successful, the attack led to the death of six IDF soldiers, including officers, who were among the Golani forces assigned to capture the fort.

The fortress, a Crusader castle, features natural defenses and is situated atop the rocky Beaufort Ridge, making it an ideal defensive position.

Sitting at more than 700 meters (2,300 feet) above sea level, control of Beaufort provides Israeli forces a critical observation point over most of southern Lebanon and northern Israel. The castle is located about two kilometers from the town of Arnon in southern Lebanon, and directly overlooks the Israeli community of Metula, less than 4 kilometers (2.5 miles) away.

From the walls of the fort, soldiers can see into the Hula Valley and the Galilee plains, in Israel, as well as much of the Litani River and the Nabatieh–Marjayoun corridor in Lebanon, making it an ideal location for surveillance and reconnaissance.

This geographical position has given the castle strategic importance for centuries, making it the focus of repeated battles and military fortifications.

In addition, the fortress, just a few kilometers from the city of Nabatieh – which the IDF describes as a Hezbollah stronghold in southern Lebanon – holds symbolic significance because it was previously captured and occupied by Israeli forces for many years.

After securing the removal of most of the Palestinian militant groups from Beirut, Israel withdrew to the South Lebanon Security Zone, which it maintained until 2000.

Israel ultimately withdrew from Beaufort Castle and the nearby fortifications it had built as part of its withdrawal from southern Lebanon in 2000. This withdrawal was seen as a victory by Hezbollah and is cited as a reason for the group's confidence and standing, encouraging further attacks on northern Israeli communities that eventually led to the 2006 Second Lebanon War.
