It was in the context of these ponderings that He brought a Scripture to mind that filled up all those needy places in my heart with His sweet love:
I could see my sister being held close to His heart, embraced by the love of the Shepherd, and it was such a comfort to know He is with her and will never leave her or forsake her. This goes for all of us. We are His lambs.
The Scripture says that He actually gathers us up. He sees us out here in this alien world. He knows that we are engaging in the spiritual battles that come with this part of the journey to the perfect eternal Kingdom. He gives us strength and power in these challenges. We defeat demons in the spiritual realm as we trust Him.
Trusting in God is a powerful, demon-demolishing weapon. These battles that seem so heinous are many times given to us so that we can wield His weapons of warfare in a realm we cannot see, for His purposes.
Those little lambs gathered up by our great Shepherd Himself know both the battles and the comfort of being held in the arms of God. This is the gift in the midst of the battles – deep intimacy with God.
He restores us there and speaks tenderly of things to come. He holds us close to His very heart. We can hear His heartbeat. We are beginning to get in sync with eternity. To know Him is eternal life.
Another blessing is that we are all in this flock, the flock of the great Shepherd. We are not alone. We belong to each other and to Him, together. He says that it is His good pleasure to give us the Kingdom. We are headed for Glory, building up the highway to the eternal Kingdom.
Yeshua told us that in this world we would have tribulation, but to be of good cheer because He has overcome the world. That’s a promise, Little Lamb, loved and cherished by God.
There are many trials along the way, but He has overcome them all. While we are “in process”, we receive comfort from the God of all comfort as He gathers us up in His arms and lets us hear His heartbeat.
