Standing With Israel

Why Christians Need to Cover Mike Pence in Prayer This Week

United States Vice President Mike Pence will travel to the Middle East Jan. 19-23, with other stops in Egypt and Jordan to meet with their leaders.
In Israel on the last two days of the trip, the vice president is scheduled to meet jointly with Prime Minister Netanyahu and President Reuven Rivlin, and to address the Knesset. He also is scheduled to visit the Western Wall and Yad Vashem.
Palestinian leaders refuse to meet with Pence in the wake of President Donald Trump's recognition last month of Jerusalem as Israel's capital. Pence postponed a planned mid-December visit to Israel so he could preside over the vote on a tax overhaul favored by Trump.
The original trip had included meetings in Bethlehem with Palestinian Authority officials. On the newly scheduled trip, prior to visiting Israel, Pence will meet in Egypt on Jan. 20, 2018, with President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi and in Jordan on Jan. 21, 2018, with King Abdullah II. At President Trump's direction, the vice president is traveling to the Middle East to reaffirm the commitment to work with the USA's allies in the region to defeat radicalism that threatens future generations. The vice president is looking forward to meeting with the leaders of Egypt, Jordan, and Israel to discuss ways to work together to fight terrorism and improve our national security," according to JTA.
Once again, please pray for visiting Pence. May his words be God-given and anointed with wisdom. Intercede for traveling mercies, divine protection and a sense of welcome in his travels.

It Is Being Reported That Donald Trump May Recognize Jerusalem As The Capital Of Israel In December - Michael Snyder THE ECONOMIC COLLAPSE BLOG

Posted: 01 Dec 2017 Michael Snyder  THE ECONOMIC COLLAPSE BLOG

Is President Trump about to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel?   If so, this would be one of the most historic events to happen in the Middle East in a very long time.

Needless to say, the government of Israel would be absolutely thrilled by such a move, while the Palestinians and Israel’s neighbors would not be pleased at all.  In fact, some Palestinians have suggested that if the Trump administration actually moves the U.S. embassy to Jerusalem that it could spark widespread violence or even war.

But Donald Trump promised that he would recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel during the campaign, and it looks like he intends to keep his word
A senior U.S. administration official said on Thursday that President Donald Trump is considering recognizing Jerusalem as the capital of the State of Israel without moving the embassy to the Israeli capital, at least for the time being.
Trump wants the recognition of Jerusalem to be a gift to Israel on the occasion of its 70th Independence Day, and he may even announce this recognition by means of a statement to be made by Vice President Mike Pence, who will visit Israel in December.
Pence will be visiting Israel this month, and he is scheduled to deliver an address to the Knesset.  If the Trump administration is going to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, it is believed that it may happen at that time.

Israel became a nation in 1948, and so 2018 will be Israel’s 70th anniversary.  There will be independence celebrations throughout the year, and recognizing Jerusalem as Israel’s capital as we approach this highly significant time would be considered a great gift to the Jewish people.

For the moment, however, the Trump administration will not be moving the U.S. embassy to Jerusalem.  The White House recognizes that such a move could spark violence in the region, and so administration officials are treading carefully
President Donald Trump and his senior aides are mulling a plan to eventually move the U.S. Embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, a decision that could derail Trump’s attempts to restart peace talks between the Israelis and the Palestinians.
A leading option under consideration: temporarily keeping the U.S. embassy in Tel Aviv while also outlining a longer-term strategy to begin the process of moving the embassy to Jerusalem, according to two administration officials. The plan is meant to strike a middle ground on the politically treacherous issue.
We shall see how this plays out, but Vice-President Mike Pence sure sounds optimistic that moving the embassy will actually happen.  Earlier this week, he posted the following message on Twitter
While for the past 20 years, Congress and successive administrations have expressed a willingness to move our embassy, @POTUS Trump is actively considering when and how to move the American Embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.
Of course moving the embassy would have very serious ramifications, and without a doubt many those surrounding Trump are advising against such a move
American intelligence circles may caution Trump against the move, warning of the security-related ramifications that could ensue and danger that it could pose to American embassies around the world.
Rumors of Trump’s planned announcement were met with warnings from Jordan’s King Abdullah II, who said during a visit to the US that “the transfer of the American embassy to Jerusalem at this stage will have repercussions in the Palestinian, Arab and Islamic scene.”
I will be even more blunt.  If the U.S. embassy is moved to Jerusalem, there will definitely be violence, and it could potentially move us closer to armed conflict in the Middle East.
But U.S. policy should never be dictated by threats of violence.  Moving the U.S. embassy to Jerusalem is the right thing to do, and we cannot allow anyone to intimidate us.  In 1995, Congress passed a law that requires the U.S. embassy to be moved to Jerusalem, but ever since then presidents have used “waivers” to delay the move.

The current “waiver” expires on December 1st, and Trump is expected to sign another one at that time.

But even if the U.S. embassy is not moved to Jerusalem any time soon, the truth is that the next major war in the Middle East seems to be getting closer with each passing day.  Just check out some of the things that have happened over the past week…

-Saudi Arabia just intercepted another ballistic missile that was fired from Yemen.  The civil war in Yemen is essentially a proxy war between Saudi Arabia and Iran, and the Saudis hold the Iranians directly responsible whenever a missile is fired toward their territory.

-China has announced that they will be sending “elite troops” into Syria to fight alongside the Syrian army in the ongoing civil war that is raging there.

-Just a few days ago, the Pentagon acknowledged that there are approximately 2,000 U.S. troops currently in Syria working with forces that would like to overthrow the Syrian government.

The Middle East is a tinderbox that could literally erupt at any moment.  Most Americans have absolutely no idea how close we are to a major regional war, and let us pray that one does not happen any time soon.

Mike Pence: 'It Is Impossible Not to Also See the Hands From Heaven' - ECI CHARISMA NEWS

Vice President Mike Pence

European Coalition for Israel has been part of a consortium of Jewish organizations that hosted the 70th anniversary of U.N. General Assembly Resolution 181 at the Queens Museum in New York, which in 1947 was the headquarters of the newly created United Nations. U.N. General Assembly Resolution 181, also called the U.N. Partition Plan, called for the creation of a Jewish state in the land of Israel alongside an Arab state.
But in speeches from U.S. Vice President Mike Pence, Israeli Ambassador to the U.N. Danny Danon, Ambassador Ronald Lauder from the World Jewish Congress and Israeli Minister Yisrael Katz it was made clear that it was not the U.N. who created the Jewish state, but the Jewish people themselves.
"The United Nations did not create the Jewish state, they simply reaffirmed the natural and irrevocable rights of the Jewish people to their own state in their historical homeland," U.S. Vice President Mike Pence pointed out at the event.
"Israel did not need a resolution to call for its existence, because its right to exist is self-evident and timeless," Pence said.
Ambassador Ronald Lauder from the World Jewish Congress reminded the audience that Jews had been living in Judea for eight centuries before they were dispersed from the land by the Romans in 135 AD.
"We know who we are and we know where we came from. This is why we are called Jews. These historical facts cannot be changed by any new UNESCO resolutions or others who try to deny our history," he said.
Permanent Representative of Israel to the U.N., Ambassador Danny Danon thanked the 33 nations that voted for U.N. General Assembly Resolution 181 in 1947 but went on to say that today Israel has diplomatic relations with over 160 nations.
"Today there are peace treaties with former enemies such as Egypt and Jordan and growing relations with many other Arab countries, especially in the Gulf region."
Each speaker quoted from the Bible in explaining how the miracle of 1947 was possible.
"While Israel was built by human hands, it is impossible not to also see the hands from heaven," Mike Pence said.
Ambassador Danon called the U.N. vote on Nov. 29 "the longest three minutes in Jewish history" but saw the results as a fulfillment of Bible prophecy, which speaks of a time when the Jews will return to Israel.
European Coalition for Israel was part of the organizing committee behind the event, which was hosted by the Israeli permanent representation to the U.N. ECI was represented by Founding Director Tomas Sandell, ECI Director of U.N. Affairs Gregory Lafitte and Honorary Chairman J. Rudolf Geigy.
"Our presence here today as the only non-Jewish organization in the hosting committee is important in that it shows that support for the State of Israel extends beyond the Jewish world," Tomas Sandell explained.
"U.N. General Assembly Resolution 181 is a historical achievement that we can be truly proud of." While the Jewish people did not receive all that had been promised to them by the international community in 1920, it re-affirmed the right to self-determination of the Jewish people in their historical homeland.
"The singular message from this commemoration is that the Jewish people said yes to peace and co-existence already in 1947 and have continued to do so for the last 70 years."
"It is now high time that also the enemies of the Jewish state recognize that Israel is here to stay and come back to the negotiating table."

CBN's Pat and Gordon Robertson, David Brody, Named Among Most Influential Evangelicals in America - CBN News

CBN's Pat and Gordon Robertson, David Brody, Named Among Most Influential Evangelicals in America
CBN News 11-18-2017

On Saturday, Newsmax.com released its top 100 picks for the most influential evangelicals in America today.
The conservative website pointed out that the evangelicals on their list come from many different Christian denominations, but they all have a common belief in the holiness of scripture and the centrality of faith in Jesus Christ for their lives.
The list includes the vice president of the U.S., actors, authors, pastors, TV reality stars, evangelists, Hollywood producers and ministry leaders.
Pat Robertson, the founder of the Christian Broadcasting Network and the host of CBN's The 700 Club was named number 5 on the list. He also founded the International Family Entertainment Inc. (ABC Family Channel, now Freeform), and the American Center for Law and Justice, among other organizations, and is an important voice for conservative Christianity in the United States.
Gordon Robertson, the chief executive officer of CBN, and son of Pat Robertson was listed at number 15. Robertson often hosts The 700 Club as a fill-in for his father when needed. He's also an executive producer for the show and produces the CBN children's animated series Superbook.
CBN News' Chief Political Correspondent David Brody was recognized at number 27 on the list.  Brody's book on President Trump's spirituality is getting ready to go to press. He also launched the political talk show Faith Nation seen on Facebook Live Wednesdays from CBN's Washington bureau. He's often a regular guest on other news networks  called on to talk about faith and politics.
Listed as the top two American evangelical influencers were Billy Graham and his son, Franklin.  Although the elder Graham has slowed down in his active ministry, Newsmax reports, he's built his legacy as America's greatest preacher. He will turn 100 next year.
Following in his father's footsteps, Franklin Graham founded his own influential ministry, Samaritan's Purse, and preaches the gospel of Jesus Christ to millions through the ministry and his own evangelism rallies.
Vice President Mike Pence, the former Indiana governor, was named at number 9 on the list. Political analysts have said he was chosen by President Trump to be his running mate because of his traditional Christian conservatism.
Also making the list at number 51 was Phil Robertson, TV reality star and the head of the Robertson family.  His Duck Commander company was the subject of the hit TV series Duck Dynasty. Robertson serves as an elder at the White's Ferry Road Church of Christ in West Monroe, Louisiana. He has been very outspoken about his faith in the media.
Tim Tebow also made the list at number 56. Tebow, the former Heisman Trophy winner and NFL quarterback, now plays in the outfield for a New York Mets minor league baseball team. He took a lot of hits in his professional football career because of his bold stand for his Christian faith. He has also written several books and supported organizations like Cure International.
Other notable evangelicals named to the list include Stephen Curtis Chapman, Andy Crouch, Rick Warren, Beth Moore and actor Kirk Cameron.
