Women, Rise Up at This Prophetic Crossroads! - ANNA AQUINO CHARISMA NEWS

Women, Rise Up at This Prophetic Crossroads!

ANNA AQUINO  CHARISMA NEWS
If you haven't realized it yet, we stand at a crossroads in our culture. Look at any statistic and you will find a dramatic decline of values in our society. Though I could tell you of a list of reasons as to what has contributed to this decline, its effects on our generation are unmistakable and undeniable.
One of the things that concern me is a rise in an extreme form of feminism. I applaud women taking their place in our culture. I applaud them to find their voice. The #MeToo Movement isn't all bad. People need to tell their stories. However, turning to man-hating and man-devouring isn't the answer either. We as women need to take a stand in our society, but we need to fight alongside with our men. We don't need to destroy them. As I began to pray about this some time ago, there were two biblical figures I felt led to discuss regarding this issue.
The story of Delilah can be found in Judges 16. It takes place in the Valley of Sorek, which means the "valley of choice." The Bible says that the "lords of the Philistines" (Judg. 16:5a, NKJV) came to her because they had realized that Samson was in love with her.
She was a prostitute. I would love to know her backstory. The "lords" of the Philistines were meant to be like "kings or princes" of the time. They would have been people with a lot of influence. They gave her 1100 pieces of silver to sell Samson out to them. (This is equivalent of about $8,000). She did what was asked of her. This story has always made me laugh at how gullible Samson was. A man in love doesn't really think things through. He made some unwise choices trusting her, and was ultimately captured as a result. There were so many things Delilah could have done. How different would the story be had she have told those "princes" she wouldn't trap Samson? But she didn't do this. How differently would this story have turned out had she stood up to the culture? She was obviously all about her own personal gain. She was the linchpin that led to Samson's demise.

In contrast, the story of Deborah is remarkable. This woman was amazing. Her story can be found in Judges 4-5. She was one of the judges of Israel who used to sit under palm trees while the people of Israel came to her to judge matters. I love the fact that she has a reputation for her wisdom. I would love to hear her backstory too. She was so well-respected that Barak, the commander of the army, wouldn't go into battle unless she came with them. She didn't stay under that palm tree. That woman went into battle and helped Israel. Deborah was fierce. She was a warrior. She wasn't attacking her men. She was fighting alongside of them. They were rising up a banner to fight together.
When God formed Eve, he made her from Adam's rib. She was not fashioned out of a piece of skull or a piece of foot. She was formed out of his side. The idea that we as women need to be over men or under men is completely unbiblical and delusional. If we want to see our culture begin to return to God, we as women need to rise up and take our place. We are not the head. We are not to be downtrodden.
If we want our society to shift back to biblical principles, then everyone, male and female, needs to engage in the culture. We cannot stay seated under our palm trees eating dates. We cannot sit idly by as the enemy of God's people continues to attack on every side. We cannot stay safe in our four church walls and think that somehow our society will miraculously shift. We must pray. We must engage. We must take a stand. It's time for women to raise up a standard. Who is with me?

Lives Laid Down - Now Think On This by Steve Martin

Lives Laid Down

Now Think On This
Steve Martin

“By this we know love, because He laid down His life for us. And we also ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.” (1 John 3:16-17 NKJV)

After recently gotten back from Israel, the Land which the Lord has prophetically brought His chosen people back to, I have been contemplating on some of what I experienced. Seeing, hearing, feeling and touching what He has done there is simply miraculous. The Jews truly are becoming a light to the nations, as He said He would make them.

"I am God. I have called you to live right and well.
I have taken responsibility for you, kept you safe.
I have set you among my people to bind them to me,
and provided you as a lighthouse to the nations,
To make a start at bringing people into the open, into light:
opening blind eyes,
releasing prisoners from dungeons,
emptying the dark prisons.”
(Isaiah 42:6-7 THE MESSAGE)

One amazing sight that touched me over and over again was to see in action the mothers of Israel raising their children. Now I am not saying this just because we are close to Mother’s Day here in the USA. I am writing this because many have lost something when it comes to family, and need encouragement to walk in the truth.

By the mercy and grace of God over these many centuries, the Jewish people have kept, and continue to keep, what the Lord had intended from the beginning. When He created and ordained husbands and wives, to be fathers and mothers, He knew only the existence of love and sacrificial life, as lives laid down, would be the bedrock to have families flourish, and raise children unto Him.

One family I spent time with there in the Jerusalem area was celebrating their child’s first birthday. Now that is a great thing for those of us who have had a child, or a grandchild, and have done that. The first birthday is always really special.

But when it is the ninth child that has come out of the marriage covenant of man and woman, that simply is God. Fulfilling the word, “God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. God blessed them; and God said to them, " Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it…” (Genesis 1:27-28 NASU) is the very first commandment given to mankind.

In much of today’s society we have almost reached the point where we scorn those who, as man and woman, do get married, have children, and spend a great portion of their lives raising them.  Day in and day out, by so often laying down their own wants, pleasures and pursuits, these who do as the Lord has directed, are giving themselves to their children. Even more so, seeing these Jewish mothers giving so much of themselves by raising their children, makes one again thank God that there are still ones fulfilling His purpose and plan, walking them out in reality, within families.

Women who choose to do this – biblically marrying and having children, raising them with all they have - are to be the most highly commended among mankind.

My own mother, Lila Martin Parker, now reaching an age a bit beyond 80, still gives of herself for her eight children that she and Dad raised, and the many, many grandchildren that followed. Over those decades, much sacrifice, much heart, soul and body were totally given to do this marvelous life act – to give out so her children and their children could receive.

And my own good wife Laurie, herself the mother of four, lives daily to bless her children ongoing. And now also, with her seven grandchildren, is seeing part of her life’s generational reward come through them.

Indeed, let us honor and bless all mothers, these admirably women of God, who are truly walking out His divine will. I so do myself.

Happy Mother’s Day!
