LoveMusic! - I Surrender - Hillsong Worship

I Surrender
Hillsong Worship

Nov. 3, 2017

Greetings to all who like LoveMusic! (And if you don't yet, you will.)

Hillsong Worship has been a real force in the Christian worship genre for a long time now, considering decades is long by our history timeline.

With Darlene Zschech  blazing the trail from Australia, beginning in 1987, Hillsongs has been producing great worship songs. Many of these are sung every Sunday, and Monday-Saturday around the world through all media.

Here is a bit of Darlene's story:

"In 1980, when Zschech was 15, her father rededicated his life to Christ and began taking her to church, where she also became a committed Christian and met her future husband, Mark Zschech. When they married, her husband suggested that they move from Brisbane to Sydney, which was confirmed at a small church they were visiting one Sunday when the guest speaker said in the middle of his sermon, "This doesn't happen to me very often, but whatever it is you two prayed last night, God says do it now." They began attending Hills Christian Life Centre, which would become Hillsong Church.
Zschech sang jingles for a number of international companies including McDonald'sKFC and Coca-Cola,until she eventually joined the staff of Hillsong Church after penning "Shout to the Lord". She released a vinyl album in 1987 called "Make the Choice" and a cassette album in 1993 called Pearls & Gold.
Zschech and her husband have three daughters, Amy, Chloe and Zoe. In 2000 she had a miscarriage after 12 weeks.[10]

Shout to the Lord was nominated as Album of the Year for the 1997 Dove Awards and was nominated as Song of the Year for the 1998 Dove Awards. In 2000, Zschech received a Dove Award nomination for Songwriter of the Year and received the International Award for influence in praise and worship." Wikepedia

Darlene doesn't sing on this one, I Surrender, but carrying on her passion and grace are those who followed her lead. This is another song that has come forth from these who continue to carry His love, compassion and hope to the nations from the Land Down Under.
We love Hillsong Worship and the good people of Australia!
Be blessed in you worship of the Lord Jesus today.

Why These Closing Churches Are Fueling the Charismatic Movement

Church closings are nothing new in Britain.
In the past six years, 168 Church of England churches have closed, along with 500 Methodist and 100 Roman Catholic churches.
"Christianity in Britain has seen a relentless decline for over 100 years," says Linda Woodhead, a sociologist at Lancaster University.
Visitors to Britain are often shocked when they see the state of some of this nation's once-proud church buildings.
But for every Anglican church that has closed over the past six years, more than three Pentecostal or charismatic churches have taken their place, according to an analysis by The Times of London.
These Pentecostal and charismatic churches are drawing young, black, Asian and mixed-race people.
Pentecostalism is one of the fastest-growing movements in world Christendom, with an estimated 500 million followers.
"A century ago the face of European Christianity could have been labeled as white, but now it is increasingly becoming multicolored," said Israel Olofinjana, a Nigerian-born minister in London told the Times.
While aging Church of England congregations decline, charismatic churches thrive.
Hillsong Church London holds four services, attended by 8,000 people, every Sunday at the Dominion Theatre.
"It feels like God's nightclub, with love songs to Jesus," said one young African after attending an evening service.
Christians from Eastern Europe, especially Poland, where Catholic roots run deep, are among the participants. And their enthusiasm is contagious.
"There's been a seismic shift," said Robert Beckford, a professor of theology at Canterbury Christ Church University. "Christianity in Britain has become much more ethnically diverse as a result of migration from West Africa, Eastern Europe and, to a degree, Latin America."
Elizabeth Oldfield, director at Theos, one of England's leading think tanks, told The Times: "Church structures have to take immigration much more seriously. They're having to listen to people on the ground that are joining the churches in quite large numbers, speaking a different language, perhaps coming from different forms of worship and working to bring change. It is shaking the church up."
The Pentecostal growth is bringing renewed hope to many.
"I am optimistic that we will see this nation come back to God," said Pastor Agu Irukwu of the Redeemed Christian Church of God. The group, founded in Nigeria, now has 600 congregations across England.

Global Christian broadcast leader TBN has announced that it is partnering with Hillsong Church, the world's leading creator of inspirational, life-changing praise and worship music, in the June 15 launch of an innovative addition to faith-and-family television, the Hillsong Channel. The 24-hour network—with a planned distribution footprint including broadcast, cable and nearly a dozen satellites around the world—will combine the best in cutting-edge worship from the most gifted singers, songwriters and musicians, with dynamic ministry from internationally acclaimed pastors and teachers.
TBN Chairman Matthew Crouch noted that each week tens of millions of individuals in churches around the world praise God to the impacting music of Hillsong Worship. "We are excited and honored to welcome the Hillsong Channel as the newest member of the Trinity Broadcasting Family of Networks," he said. "This powerful new praise and worship network will offer an amazing opportunity for us to reach a whole new generation of viewers with the message of hope and grace as we partner with the most iconic and far-reaching presence in contemporary Christian music."
Viewers of the Hillsong Channel will have 24-7 front-row access to all the best from Hillsong's popular international conferences, along with dynamic worship from gifted groups, singers and songwriters such as Hillsong United, Young and Free, Reuben Morgan, Joel Houston and many others. There will also be plenty of life-changing teaching from internationally acclaimed Christian leaders like Hillsong Senior Pastor Brian Houston and his wife, Bobbi Houston, whose "Sisterhood" outreach is inspiring and equipping a generation of women to walk in their God-ordained destiny.
Over the past several years, Hillsong Church has expanded dramatically from its flagship location in Sydney, Australia, to an increasing number of vibrant congregations in such key cities as London, Paris, Stockholm, Cape Town, Buenos Aires, New York, Phoenix and Los Angeles—making Hillsong's worship and ministry truly international in flavor and perspective.
Pastor Brian Houston said that with the launch of the Hillsong Channel, millions of viewers around the world will have access to the life-transforming worship and ministry that are the recognized hallmark of Hillsong Church. "This new aspect of the Hillsong global vision is unlike anything we have launched up to this point," he said. "It'll be a continuous, 24-7 feed that will be exalting Jesus and empowering people for every part of life."
Matthew Crouch said that additional information will become available in the weeks ahead of the network's planned June 15 official launch. "We're encouraging everyone to stay tuned as we prepare to introduce what we believe is one of the most exciting positive broadcast additions to come along in recent history," he said. "We think it's going to help broaden the scope and outreach of faith-and-family television worldwide."

Hillsong Pastor Brian Houston Re-Affirms Stance on Gay Marriage

Hillsong Pastor Re-Affirms Stance
on Gay Marriage

Brian Houston, pastor of Hillsong Church in Sydney, Australia, has issued a statement re-affirming his traditional position on same-sex marriage.
Houston's reaction follows his appearance Thursday at a news conference in New York City that gave rise to media reports suggesting Houston had a "shift in tone on gay marriage."
The mega-church pastor was in New York for a Hillsong conference at Madison Square Garden.
"I encourage people not to assume a media headline accurately represents what I said at a recent press conference. Nowhere in my answer did I diminish biblical truth or suggest that I or Hillsong Church supported gay marriage," Houston said in a statement published by theChristian Post
"I challenge people to read what I actually said rather than what was reported that I said," he continued. "My personal view on the subject of homosexuality would line up with most traditionally held Christian views. I believe the writings of Paul are clear on this subject."
Hillsong Church operates 12 campuses around the world, including facilities in Los Angeles and New York City, where gay marriage is legal.
"I was asked a question on how the Church can stay relevant in the context of gay marriage being legal in the two states of the USA where we have campuses. My answer was simply an admission of reality -- no more and no less. I explained that this struggle for relevance was vexing as we did not want to become ostracized by a world that needs Christ," Houston said.
"I made the point that public statements condemning people will place a barrier between the Church and the world (and I note that Jesus came to save and not to condemn), which is why at Hillsong we don't want to reduce the real issues in people's lives to a sound bite."
"This -- like many other issues, is a conversation the Church needs to have and we are all on a journey as we grapple with the question of merging biblical truth with a changing world," he concluded.
