Huckabee Tops Latest Social Media Ranking for TV Personalities

COLBY MAY  CHARISMA NEWS
TBN's own Mike Huckabee has landed at the top of the Hollywood Reporter's latest ranking for TV personalities on social media.
The entertainment and media website's "Top TV Personalities" ranks TV's most popular celebrities on social media, blending their engagement on Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, and Google Plus along with their increase in social media fans and followers.

Hollywood Reporter
explained that, for the purposes of its ranking, TV personalities are defined as "performers primarily known for their appearances on their own TV series, including hosts of entertainment/news shows."

Huckabee, the former Arkansas governor and presidential candidate, is the host of TBN's popular weekly entertainment and talk show Huckabee (airing Saturdays at 8 p.m. ET), which is taped before a live audience each week in Nashville. Since its launch in 2017, Huckabee guests have included newsmakers, leading political pundits and commentators, A-list entertainers and musicians, as well as everyday individuals with inspiring stories from across America. The lead guest for the premiere Huckabee show on October 7 was President Donald Trump.

In the latest ranking, Huckabee, who boasts one million followers on Twitter, came in ahead of the likes of CNN news anchor Jake Tapper, MSNBC host Chris Hayes, CBS' Late Show host Stephen Colbert and comedian/television host Steve Harvey, who ranked second through fifth, respectively.

Another TBN personality, Mike Rowe, host of the weekly TBN show Somebody's Gotta Do It (airing Saturdays at 9 p.m. ET) came in at No. 10 in this month's "Top TV Personalities" ranking.

Former Radical Muslim Issues Urgent Prayer Alert as Iran Burns - TBN/Charisma News

Reza Safa

Join us on our podcast each weekday for an interesting story, well told, from Charisma News. Listen at charismapodcastnetwork.com.

Iranian-American Pastor Reza Safa, a former radical Muslim and founder of the Farsi-language Christian network TBN Nejat Television, has issued an urgent request for Christians around the world to pray for Iran and its people as political unrest rages in the Muslim-controlled nation. Since Dec. 28, tens of thousands of Iranian citizens have taken to the streets of the northern city of Mashhad and elsewhere to protest political oppression, with at least 20 individuals killed in violence.
Safa, whose TBN affiliate network reaches deep into Iran with the gospel message, noted that the protests mark the second time in less than 10 years the people of Iran have risen up against the nation's oppressive Islamic government, which first gained control with the overthrow of Shah Reza Pahlavi in 1979. "For the past 39 years, the Islamic regime has done nothing but oppress the people of Iran," said Safa. "The Iranian people are fed up with the government's corruption and its squandering of the nation's wealth to fund terrorism abroad."
Iran's economy is in shambles, with an unemployment rate that Iran's Interior Ministry estimates may be as high as 60 percent in some areas of the country. Safa said that young people under 30, a demographic that constitutes more than half of Iran's population, are particularly affected, which has helped to fuel the anger against the government.
"In Iran today the people have virtually no freedom," said Safa. "Even the way they dress publicly is controlled by the government. So now, for the second time since 2009, the people have taken to the streets in cities across Iran to protest against economic hardship and political repression."
However, he added, there is a major difference this time around. "Today in Iran the gospel is going forward as never before," said Safa. "Through outlets like TBN Nejat Television, the message of salvation through Jesus is impacting literally every major population center across the nation—despite aggressive efforts by Iran's government to stop it. Over the past several years, countless thousands of Iranians have come to faith in Christ, so that today the nation of Iran is poised for positive change."
Safa emphasized the importance of Christians around the world joining together in spirit to pray for the people of Iran at this crucial time. "It is important to think in terms of the church and salvation of souls when we read historical events and political changes," he said. "I believe that God is preparing an army of ex-Muslims to evangelize the Islamic world in the days ahead. If this is the time for a political change in Iran, our prayers today need to be that a proper and right government is established in this nation and people loved by God. Will you join me in interceding on behalf of Iran and its people?"

Mike Huckabee Fiercely Defends 'God's Land' - CHARISMA NEWS DAVE BOHON

Mike Huckabee Fiercely Defends 'God's Land'

Tonight, Aug.10, former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee joins a round table of experts on Trinity Broadcasting Network's flagship talk show Praise to address a topic that is important to millions of individuals around the world: Why Israel Matters.
"It's indisputable that this land is God's land, and it's His land because He chose it," said Huckabee, speaking from TBN's Jerusalem studio. "It's the one piece of real estate that He put His finger on and said, 'Mine.'" He added that when people ask why the tiny Middle Eastern nation is so important, he answers that "it's important because God made it important. It's not important because the United Nations has something to say. It's not important because certain people have fought over it. The importance of it comes from God's designation."
Joining Gov. Huckabee and TBN's Matt and Laurie Crouch for this special program from the heart of Israel are: Samuel Smadja, Israeli native, Messianic pastor and noted Holy Land tour organizer; longtime friend of Israel Mike Hayes from Churches in Covenant International; and Christians United for Israel's Erick Stakelbeck, host of The Watchman With Erick Stakelbeck, airing exclusively on TBN.
Stakelbeck, an in-demand expert on the Middle East, pointed out that the Jewish state is the only example of a free democracy in the Middle East. "Whereas our brothers and sisters in Christ are being beheaded elsewhere in this region, they have freedom of worship right here in Israel, where the Christian population is actually growing." He added that the most important reason for individuals and nations to stand with Israel "is very simple: God says we should. There's no grey area there. God says in Genesis, 'I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse those who curse you'" (see Gen. 27:29).
As an exciting extra, this Praise program, taped during TBN's Holy Land tour with Hillsong Worship, includes Gov. Huckabee's announcement that he will host an exclusive weekend talk show on TBN beginning this fall. "I'm truly amped about the fact that, starting sometime this fall, there will be a Huckabee show on Trinity Broadcasting Network," said the governor, adding that "it's going to be an exciting opportunity to tell great stories about America and about great people. It's going to be inspirational, informational, edifying, and uplifting—something you don't see on a lot of typical television shows anymore. It's a joy to be part of the TBN family, and I'm excited about it."
Don't miss this special TBN Praise tonight at 8 p.m. Eastern / 7 p.m. Central, exclusively on TBN. Find out where TBN is airing near you with our channel finder, or watch TBN on our livestream here.

Nearly 3,000 Surrender to the Holy Spirit as Greg Laurie Proclaims the Truth

Join us on our podcast each weekday for an interesting story, well told, from Charisma News. Listen at charismapodcastnetwork.com.

Nearly 3,000 attendees accepted Christ at Greg Laurie's Harvest Crusade Sunday night. But that number could be vastly short of the real salvation tally, as the event was broadcast across the world via TBN.
"The clock is ticking, and before you know it, life could end," Laurie warned thousands gathered in the University of Phoenix stadium. "How do you know you're going to live to be an old man or an old woman? ... It's not guaranteed," Laurie told the 38,000 gathered and millions more who tuned in to the live broadcast from TBN and Facebook live.
"There's an afterlife, and according to the Bible, there's two options: heaven or hell," he continued. "Smoking or non-smoking, if you will. Know this: The last thing that God wants is for any man or woman, created in His image to spend eternity in hell. Hell wasn't made for people; hell was made for the devil and his angels.
"You can be a good person and go to hell and you can be a bad person and go to heaven. Heaven isn't for good people. Heaven is for forgiven people.
"Come with your sins, come with your problems, come with your questions, come as you are. He will forgive you, He will accept you, and He will change you. Just admit you need God, say you're a sinner...you can come back to the Lord," Laurie continued, according to The Gospel Herald.
His message resonated.
"Thank you Pastor Greg for an amazing night," one person posted to Facebook. "I still can't stop crying after seeing all those people come forward. Thank you for caring, thank you for sharing Gods word and all you do."
Another person writes: "Great message last night and a blessing to see all who now have hope and gave their life to Christ. Thank you pastor GREG."
Says another: "YES! THANK YOU, JESUS!!! I watched Harvest on TBN last night. Such a blessing to see so many people come forward! Loved your prodigal son sermon too! Keep shining for Jesus, Pastor Greg. You're [sic] testimony and walk with the Lord has encouraged me tremendously throughout my 20 years of being saved!!! Thank you for your faithfulness in spreading the gospel!!!"

Global Christian broadcast leader TBN has announced that it is partnering with Hillsong Church, the world's leading creator of inspirational, life-changing praise and worship music, in the June 15 launch of an innovative addition to faith-and-family television, the Hillsong Channel. The 24-hour network—with a planned distribution footprint including broadcast, cable and nearly a dozen satellites around the world—will combine the best in cutting-edge worship from the most gifted singers, songwriters and musicians, with dynamic ministry from internationally acclaimed pastors and teachers.
TBN Chairman Matthew Crouch noted that each week tens of millions of individuals in churches around the world praise God to the impacting music of Hillsong Worship. "We are excited and honored to welcome the Hillsong Channel as the newest member of the Trinity Broadcasting Family of Networks," he said. "This powerful new praise and worship network will offer an amazing opportunity for us to reach a whole new generation of viewers with the message of hope and grace as we partner with the most iconic and far-reaching presence in contemporary Christian music."
Viewers of the Hillsong Channel will have 24-7 front-row access to all the best from Hillsong's popular international conferences, along with dynamic worship from gifted groups, singers and songwriters such as Hillsong United, Young and Free, Reuben Morgan, Joel Houston and many others. There will also be plenty of life-changing teaching from internationally acclaimed Christian leaders like Hillsong Senior Pastor Brian Houston and his wife, Bobbi Houston, whose "Sisterhood" outreach is inspiring and equipping a generation of women to walk in their God-ordained destiny.
Over the past several years, Hillsong Church has expanded dramatically from its flagship location in Sydney, Australia, to an increasing number of vibrant congregations in such key cities as London, Paris, Stockholm, Cape Town, Buenos Aires, New York, Phoenix and Los Angeles—making Hillsong's worship and ministry truly international in flavor and perspective.
Pastor Brian Houston said that with the launch of the Hillsong Channel, millions of viewers around the world will have access to the life-transforming worship and ministry that are the recognized hallmark of Hillsong Church. "This new aspect of the Hillsong global vision is unlike anything we have launched up to this point," he said. "It'll be a continuous, 24-7 feed that will be exalting Jesus and empowering people for every part of life."
Matthew Crouch said that additional information will become available in the weeks ahead of the network's planned June 15 official launch. "We're encouraging everyone to stay tuned as we prepare to introduce what we believe is one of the most exciting positive broadcast additions to come along in recent history," he said. Christian leaders across denominations are offering their condolences to the family and honoring the memory of the Christian television pioneer.

“I am deeply thankful for life of Paul Crouch Sr. and his passionate work sharing the gospel around the world through media. Our prayers are with the entire Crouch family during this time of loss.”

He and the TBN family have been longtime friends and supporters of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association and Samaritan’s Purse."
Military Bible Association
Dr. Crouch had a passion for missions to the military, such that he visited the troops in Baghdad and invited military personnel on the air at TBN, which encompasses 26 global networks and affiliates around the world.
One such guest was retired U.S. Army Chaplain (Maj.) Jim Linzey, who recalls the honor of being with Dr. Crouch on Behind the Scenes and when singing on TBN with the Vanguard Chorale when he was a student at Southern California College:
"Dr. Crouch was a deeply spiritual man and extremely professional. He was absolutely a delight to be with and discuss anything in front of the camera. I appreciated the opportunity to talk about military ministry in the Middle East."
Linzey also opened the Praise the Lord program with prayer at Dr. Crouch's invitation.
GEB America
“The ministry of Paul Crouch Sr. is truly remarkable,” says GEB America President Ossie Mills. "GEB America founder and chancellor of the university that bears his name, Oral Roberts, was a pioneer in Christian television. Without a doubt, Paul Sr. took that concept to the next level and beyond.
“The entire family of networks of TBN throughout the world has and continues to impact the entire world for Jesus Christ. We are so deeply grateful for Paul Sr. allowing God to use his life to send His message of hope into homes everywhere. The GEB America family is praying for Jan, Paul Jr., Matt and their entire family and celebrates his life with them.”

Editor's Note: I watched TBN a lot during the '80's and beyond. We have much gratitude for the pioneering and courageous spirit Paul Crouch shared during his lifetime here on earth. Enjoy heaven for eternity Paul!

Paul Franklin Crouch, co-founder of Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN), is dead at age 79, reported his grandson Brandon Crouch on Saturday.

TBN's official Facebook page later released the announcement about Crouch's death: "Dr Paul F Crouch passed into the presence of the Lord on November 30, 2013. We are grateful for the life of this amazing servant of God. Please pray for the Crouch family during this time. #paulcrouch #tbn""Today, my grandfather, #PaulCrouchSr went home to be with Jesus in heaven. Thank you for your prayers…" Brandon Crouch tweeted.

Crouch was born March 30, 1934 in St. Joseph, Mo., and is the son of Assemblies of God missionaries. His father died when he was seven-years-old, and he was raised by his mother and grandparents. He has a degree in theology from Central Bible Institute and Seminary in Springfield, Mo., and an honorary Doctor of Laws degree from Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Okla., among other honorary doctorates.

He met his wife, Janice Bethany Crouch, in 1957 and they married in Missouri. They have two sons: Paul Crouch Jr. and Matthew Crouch.

Crouch Sr., co-founder along with his wife, Jan, of the world's largest Christian-owned cable station, had been treated for chronic heart problems for over a decade and had received a pacemaker in 2012, TBN revealed earlier this year.

Crouch was hospitalized on Oct. 22 in Dallas, Texas, and returned home to California in early November. On Nov. 5, TBN released a statement by TBN attorney and spokesman Colby May that said doctors had taken Crouch off the ventilator and he was breathing on his own.

Two years earlier in September 2011, Crouch was also hospitalized for congestive heart failure. It was during this time that Crouch allegedly wrote a letter identifying that he wanted his son Matthew Crouch to take over the position of president of TBN. Then Paul Crouch Jr., who was presumed the heir of TBN, suddenly announced in October 2011 that he would leave TBN to pursue other ministry opportunities.

In recent years, the Crouch and TBN have been embroiled in family lawsuits, with their granddaughter Brittany Koper, former director of finance and human resources, filing a lawsuit saying that the family was distributing more than $50 million for luxury goods, such as jets, estates, and vehicles, to company directors. When Koper refused to keep quiet about the illegal money use, she was fired and allegedly threatened with physical and lethal violence. Her uncle, Joseph McVeigh, who never worked for TBN, filed another lawsuit against TBN at the Orange County Superior Court in early 2012, saying that TBN was maliciously targeting him as part of a "campaign of retaliation" against Koper.

With TBN officially announcing Crouch Sr.'s death on its Facebook page, within less than 20 minutes of the posting there were more than 450 comments, pledging to pray for the Crouch family and offering condolences.

"My prayers are with Jan and everyone in the family. So sad b/c I thought he was doing better. Now he is doing MUCH better. He opened his eyes to see Jesus! WOW!" posted someone identified as Kathy Boulter.

While someone identified as Apostle Doreen Thornton wrote, "Dr. Paul Crouch is loved and will be missed, he was an amazing obedient servant that gave God all that he had, and I am sure great is his reward. God bless the Crouch family you are in my prayers."

And a Jefferson Elicerio Viloria posted, "I really admired this guy..he had his critics, though, although not perfect, and who is, i regard him as a true man of God. I will miss him because i always enjoyed his enthusiasm on TV....God bless the Crouch family."
