“It’s time to let go.” Steve Martin, Love For His People ministry

May 30, 2022 Love For His People in Charlotte, North Carolina, USA

Greetings to my family and friends of Love For His People.

While many of us have enjoyed some time off to commemorate Memorial Day here in the USA, I believe the Lord wants to encourage you yet again to fully trust Him for your future, and step out in faith to what He has been calling you to do. He has never stopped working out His plans and purposes for the nations.

The time is short. We don’t have decades to do what the Lord wants us to do now. Please read my message below to find out more.

Ahava and shalom,

Steve Martin

P.S. Do you like the videos David Peterman and I have been sharing with you? Let us know! We hope to do more on a regular basis as the Lord gives us messages.

It’s Time To Let Go

“We must work the works of Him who sent Me as long as it is day; night is coming when no one can work.” John 9:4, NASU

Back in 2010, I was getting a real sense from the Lord that I was to quit my third job with an international ministry. To start our own vineyard.

I had been “crying out to the Lord” for many years while laboring in the other vineyards of well-known ministries (24 total years in fact), and yet while I truly appreciated that honor of service, this cry in my heart was to have my own ministry. I know some of you can relate to that.

When I got the courage to do so and prayed long and hard for the faith to step out and jump off the cliff, I shared it with my good wife, Laurie, who at that time had already walked with me for 33 years. It had been a long and weary road, moving from Iowa to Illinois, to Michigan, to Florida, and then finally to our home of 26 years now in Charlotte, North Carolina. With four kids being raised as best we knew how we sought Him continually for direction and wisdom. By now the Lord Jesus Christ had taken us to that point of decision.

Would we walk in further faith? Would we step out in the courage we really didn’t know fully it would take? Would we believe God for provision and protection, while anticipating lack at some point along the way?

The decision was made. As Iceman (Val Kilmer) told Maverick (Tom Cruise) in the latest Tom Cruise movie (May 2022) “Top Gun: Maverick”, “It’s time to let go.”

I gave my usual 6-month notice that I was leaving. The time would be July 1, 2010. I was 55 years old at that time when we formed Love For His People ministry. It had encouraged me that Derek Prince was also 55 when he started Derek Prince Ministries, originally known as Derek Prince Publications, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Yes, I always gave a 6-month notice to help those I was departing from staff to find another replacement or prepare in another way for my not being there. In my world, it was the proper thing to do, in integrity and commitment to not ever burn bridges. Ever.

Making that decision was not easy, in both the natural and the spiritual realms. Making $70,000 a year, having four weeks’ guaranteed vacation time, fully paid medical insurance, and being the head of a ministry in the USA that was well-established took faith. Oh, how I prayed for more of it.

And so did my good wife.

But I knew if I was to stay on in that “comfortable” position I would have not walked in faith. I would have disobeyed the Lord. I would have let His best for me and her go on by, to only walk in a mediocre Christian life. I didn’t want that. Neither did He for us.

This morning, May 30, 2022, I was texting with someone close to me. In fact, we have known each other for over 63 years. As I was responding to something they wrote, I strongly felt the Lord give me this word for them as a couple.

“The Lord continues to set you two up for dynamic leadership in your area. Building on the solid foundation He has laid in your hearts and entire beings over the years. Prepare for more. Free yourselves up from things that others can do so you have more time to do fully what you two have been called to do. The time is short. We all need to focus more fully on leading, directing, and teaching.”

The Lord has given me spiritual gifts to share, and as I do those gifts grow in power and accuracy. This was one of those times I felt from the Holy Spirit that it was from Him directly for them.

There are some of you whom the Lord has been quietly speaking to you about leaving behind something you have hung onto for years, so He can give you another glass to fill up with new grace, new realms of authority, new adventures, new measures of faith and power that you too have secretly in your heart only dreamed of.

But “Guess what?” as my grandson Levi likes to say. Our Lord has MORE for you. But you need to believe, ask for more faith, and step out. Do it. Trust Him to meet all the needs which He certainly can.

You may be fearful. You may have doubts, You may not want to step on the “I don’t know where this road will take me” path.

But be as Indiana Jones and make that first step onto the unseen to cross over. The Lord is waiting for you to do it. So do it!

And as a sidenote. In 2011, my first full year in that walk of faith, my income went from $70,000 a year to $11,000. (Laurie’s $14,000 earned from her part-time job continued.) I have our 2009-2011 federal and state income tax reports to prove it. But you need to also know…the Lord every month and since then had covered our mortgage payment (and our home of 26 years was paid off in full last May 2021), loans on our two cars, food on the table daily…

Our God is Faithful. Derek Prince taught me that. That banner, “Our God is Faithful”, still hangs large as ever on the Derek Prince Ministries publications warehouse wall that I put up in 2004.

If you sense the Holy Spirit moving in your spirit, and you too have been longing for something more, as my good friend Morris Ruddick loves to write about, then do something about it. Step out in faith.

“But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.” Hebrews 11:6, NKJV

The time is short. We can’t be fooling around with whether we will obey the Lord or not. This world needs to hear from the Lord in order to walk in His ways. You have been given that opportunity to do so. He is calling you to do so.

Do what He has been calling you to do. It’s time to let go.

Message #82 in this series – in the year of our Lord 05.30.2022 – “It’s Time To Let Go” – Monday, 5:54 am in Charlotte, NC USA

NEWEST BOOK!

ENCOURAGEMENT – FIRST FROM JERUSALEM, ISRAEL, AND THEN FROM CHARLOTTE, NORTH CAROLINA, USA

In April 2022 my good friend David Peterman of Lancaster, South Carolina, and I took an Ahava Adventure (“love” in Hebrew) back to Jerusalem as soon as the skies and the Land of Israel opened up again. During those 10 days the Lord Yeshua, Jesus Christ, gave me words to share, which I wrote down each day to share with others. These make up the first part of this book.

The next section is comprised of messages inspired by the Holy Spirit from our home in Charlotte, North Carolina, beginning before and after the Israel trip. As the Lord would give me a prophetic word, I would start writing and He would further expand on it. Thus those words are written in the major section of this book.

Everyone needs encouragement. Every day. All the negative news spewed out from social media platforms and airwaves needs to be offset by the good news the Lord Jesus (Yeshua) brings to us. From the time He walked the streets of Jerusalem in the first century, to today in this 21st Century, He shares love from heaven and from this home in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Until He returns soon, may these messages uplift your spirit, reveal more of His heart, and sustain you as you walk daily in the direction the Holy Spirit gives with the grace and provision that comes with His presence.

“Fight the good fight” – ‘A Quiet Place of Rest’

“Fight the good fight” – ‘A Quiet Place of Rest’

May 9, 2022 Love For His People ministry in Charlotte, NC USA

“Fight the good fight of faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called.”1 Timothy 6:12

Historically, when navies were engaged in combat and one of the sides had reached a point of surrender, the common practice was to lower the flag (the ‘colors’) that identified the ship. Lowering the flag was equivalent to conceding defeat. But sometimes the ship’s captain would declare he had no intention of surrendering. In order to formalize commitment in a visible way, he would give the order to “nail the colors to the mast.” In other words, he was taking away all options of the flag being lowered. It was instead to be hammered into the ship’s very structure, impossible to be removed.

The battle would be fought and won, or all on board would die in the attempt.

C.T. Studd, A British missionary in the late 1800s and early 1900s, used this word picture in urging believers to commit themselves unreservedly to the call of Christ, no matter how difficult the work or what obstacles might be encountered: ‘Nail the colors to the mast! That is the right thing to do, and therefore, that is what we must do, and do it now. What colors? The colors of Christ, the work he has given us to do. Christ wants not nibblers of the possible but grabbers of the impossible, by faith in the omnipotence, Fidelity, and wisdom of the Almighty Savior ‘

As believers in Jesus Christ for today, it is time for us to decide. Against all opposition and unpopularity, we must “nail the colors to the mast, and “declaring a loyalty to God and His Word, reaffirming our whole-hearted commitment to live for His glory and fulfilling His calling. No turning back.

Point Wipeout Just The Beginning Of A Historic Financial Nightmare? – Michael Snyder

The Stock Market Is Crashing! Is This 1,000 Point Wipeout Just The Beginning Of A Historic Financial Nightmare? – Michael Snyder

Posted: 05 May 2022 02:26 PM PDT

Is this “the Big One”?  On Wednesday, I warned that the Federal Reserve had made a “colossal mistake” when it increased its benchmark interest rate by 50 basis points, and it looks like investors on Wall Street fully agree.  We just witnessed one of the largest single day stock market crashes in history, and of course this comes at a time when stock prices had already fallen quite dramatically.  Even before the carnage on Thursday, stocks were off to their worst start to a year in decades.  So will things settle down soon, or is this the beginning of a truly historic stock market collapse?

Millions of Americans better hope that it is the former, because trillions upon trillions of dollars in paper wealth is on the line.

I have always warned my readers that you only make money in the stock market if you get out in time.

It doesn’t matter if you were holding certain stocks when they soared to all-time record highs.  What is going to determine if you make a profit or not is when you choose to sell.

And markets tend to go down a whole lot faster than they go up.

On Thursday, the Dow was down more than 1,000 points, the S&P 500 plunged more than 3.5 percent, and the Nasdaq got absolutely crushed

The Dow Jones Industrial Average lost 1,063 points, or 3.12%, to close at 32,997.97. The tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite fell 4.99% to finish at 12,317.69, its lowest closing level since November 2020. Both of those losses were the worst single-day drops since 2020.

The S&P 500 fell 3.56% to 4,146.87, marking its second worst day of the year.

The reason why the Nasdaq plummeted so dramatically was because tech stocks were in “free fall mode” once again

Large tech stocks were under pressure, with Facebook-parent Meta Platforms and Amazon falling 6.8% and 7.6%, respectively. Microsoft dropped 4.4%. Salesforce tumbled 7.1%. Apple sank 5.6%.

If you think that those numbers are bad, just look at what happened to Etsy and eBay

Etsy and eBay dropped 16.8% and 11.7%, respectively, after issuing weaker-than-expected revenue guidance. Shopify fell nearly 15% after missing estimates on the top and bottom lines.

The declines dragged Nasdaq to its worst day in nearly two years.

We have seen other bad days on Wall Street in recent years, but this definitely feels different.

I think that Kim Forrest has done a better job than anyone else of summarizing what we just witnessed

“I expected some selloff, but the great puking that’s happening, I didn’t expect,” said Kim Forrest, founder and chief investment officer at Bokeh Capital Partners. “Is this capitulation? I remember what capitulation feels like — this kind of feels like capitulation, when everything, even the good names, are getting barfed out.”

I could not have said it better myself.

So precisely what was the trigger that prompted this rush for the exits?

Well, a lot of analysts are pointing to the Fed’s decision to raise interest rates on Wednesday.  Here is one example

“It’s going to be incredibly difficult for the Fed to normalize interest rates without having a negative impact on growth and earnings,” said Paul Nolte, portfolio manager at Kingsview Investment Management. “So stock prices are too high if we’re going to see a flattening or a decline in earnings per share.”

Because there is so much leverage in the market right now, rapid declines could precipitate wave after wave of forced selling.

In fact, it appears that this is already happening to a certain degree.

Ultimately, it certainly won’t take too much to turn this “market slide” into a “market avalanche”.

Meanwhile, we continue to get more indications that the U.S. economy as a whole is really slowing down.  On Thursday, we learned that worker productivity declined “at its fastest pace in nearly 75 years” during the first quarter…

Worker productivity fell to start 2022 at its fastest pace in nearly 75 years while labor costs soared as the U.S. struggled with surging Covid cases, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported Thursday.

Nonfarm productivity, a measure of output against hours worked, declined 7.5% from January through March, the biggest fall since the third quarter of 1947.

At the same time, we continue to get more bad news on the inflation front.

One of the largest meatpackers in the western hemisphere is warning that steaks and burgers will get even more expensive in the months ahead…

Beef will be getting even more expensive at U.S. grocery stores in the months ahead, according to one of the country’s biggest meatpackers.

National Beef Co., controlled by the Brazilian giant Marfrig Global Foods, sees relatively stable margins in the next two quarters, according to Tim Klein, who heads Marfrig’s U.S. operations. That means even though their costs to buy cattle are increasing, the company will ultimately be able to pass that on to consumers in the form of pricier steaks and burgers.

And the rapidly rising cost of fertilizer will inevitably make trips to the grocery store much more painful later this year…

A fertilizer shortage is putting the food supply at risk.

Fertilizer prices have tripled from where they were in 2021 and it’s forcing Mid-Michigan farmers to change how they grow their crops.

“You’re cutting off one hand to save the other,” said Seth Cords.

So many things are simultaneously going wrong, and the outlook for the second half of this year is exceedingly bleak.

But for a long time stock prices were able to defy economic reality.

Even though economic conditions were rapidly deteriorating all around us, investors just continued to party on as stock prices just kept going higher and higher.

Of course now everything has changed.

Trillions of dollars in paper wealth has already been wiped out, and trillions more will likely be wiped out in the days ahead.

But Wall Street doesn’t even realize that what we have been through so far is just a warm up act.

Much more difficult days are coming, and eventually we will see financial disaster on a scale that is absolutely unprecedented in our history.

Hopefully that time can be put off for as long as possible.

But the clock is ticking, and what happened on Thursday should be a major league wake up call for all of us.
