Ahava Love Letter - "Israeli-Arab Conflict"

Ahava Love Letter
 “Crash Course on Israeli-Arab Conflict”
“…I will make you fruitful and numerous. I will make
of you a group of peoples; and I will give this land to
your descendants to possess forever.’ Gen. 48:4 CJB
Dear family of friends,

A recent e-mail is circulating, and because of the accurate statements given, I wanted to share it with you.
In an interview with British television during the retaliation against Hamas' shelling of Israel, Prime Minister of Israel Benjamin Netanyahu was asked: "How come so many more Palestinians have been killed in this conflict than Israelis?"
Netanyahu: "Are you sure that you want to start asking in that direction?"
Interviewer: (Falling into the trap) “Why not?”
Netanyahu: "Because in World War II more Germans were killed than British and Americans combined, but there is no doubt in anyone's mind that the war was caused by Germany 's aggression. And in response to
the German blitz on London , the British wiped out the entire city of Dresden , burning to death more German civilians than the number of people killed in Hiroshima.  Moreover, I could remind you that in 1944, when the R.A.F. tried to bomb the Gestapo Headquarters in Copenhagen , some of the bombs missed their target and fell on a Danish children's hospital, killing 83 little children. Perhaps you have another question?"

In another interview Benjamin Netanyahu was asked about Israel 's occupation of Arab lands. His response was, "It's our land." The reporter was stunned - please read below "It's our land..."-- important information since fair and accurate reporting from the media is sorely lacking, and facts are often lost in the jumble.
"Crash Course on the Arab Israeli Conflict"--compiled by a Christian university professor:
1. Nationhood and Jerusalem: Israel became a nation in 1312 BCE, two thousand years before the rise of
Islam.

2. Arab refugees in Israel began identifying themselves as part of a Palestinian people in 1967, two decades after the establishment of the modern State of Israel.
3. Since the Jewish conquest in 1272 BCE, the Jews have had dominion over the land for one thousand years with a continuous presence in the land for the past 3,300 years.
4. The only Arab dominion since the conquest in 635 CE lasted no more than 22 years.
5. For over 3,300 years, Jerusalem has been the Jewish capital. Jerusalem has never been the capital of any Arab or Muslim entity. Even when the Jordanians occupied Jerusalem , they never sought to make it their capital, and Arab leaders did not come to visit.

6. Jerusalem is mentioned over 700 times in Tanach, the Jewish Holy Scriptures. Jerusalem is not mentioned once in the Koran.
7. King David founded the city of Jerusalem. Mohammed never came to Jerusalem.
8. Jews pray facing Jerusalem. Muslims pray with their backs toward Jerusalem.
9. Arab and Jewish Refugees: in 1948 the Arab refugees were encouraged to leave Israel by Arab leaders promising to purge the land of Jews. Sixty-eight percent left without ever seeing an Israeli soldier.
10. The Jewish refugees were forced to flee from Arab lands due to Arab brutality, persecution and pogroms.
11. The number of Arab refugees who left Israel in 1948 is estimated to be around 630,000. The number of Jewish refugees from Arab lands is estimated to be the same.
12. Arab refugees were INTENTIONALLY not absorbed or integrated into the Arab lands to which they fled, despite the vast Arab territory. Out of the 100,000,000 refugees since World War II, theirs is the only refugee group in the world that has never been absorbed or integrated into their own people's lands. Jewish refugees were completely absorbed into Israel, a country no larger than the state of New Jersey.
13. The Arab-Israeli Conflict: the Arabs are represented by eight separate nations, not including the Palestinians. There is only one Jewish nation. The Arab nations initiated all five wars and lost. Israel defended itself each time and won.
14. The PLO's Charter still calls for the destruction of the State of Israel . Israel has given the Palestinians most of the West Bank land, autonomy under the Palestinian Authority, and has supplied them.
15. Under Jordanian rule, Jewish holy sites were desecrated and the Jews were denied access to places of worship. Under Israeli rule, all Muslim and Christian sites have been preserved and made accessible to people of all faiths.
16. The UN Record on Israel and the Arabs: of the 175 Security Council resolutions passed before 1990, 97 were directed against Israel.
17. Of the 690 General Assembly resolutions voted on before 1990, 429 were directed against Israel.
18. The UN was silent while 58 Jerusalem Synagogues were destroyed by the Jordanians.
19. The UN was silent while the Jordanians systematically desecrated the ancient Jewish cemetery on the Mount of Olives.
20. The UN was silent while the Jordanians enforced an apartheid-like policy of preventing Jews from visiting the Temple Mount and the Western Wall.
These are incredible times. We have to ask what our role should be. What will we tell our grandchildren about what we did when there was a turning point in Jewish destiny, an opportunity to make a difference?
We stand for Israel.

Ahava Love Letter - "ABC's of Marriage"

Ahava Love Letter
 “ABC’s of Marriage”
“Marriage should be honored by everyone.” (Heb. 13:4)
Dear family of friends,

Marriage was ordained by the Lord. It is not a man-made institution, whereby we are the ones who decide what marriage is or isn’t. The Lord has already decided that, and we are the wise ones if we follow His plan.
Those whom He has blessed to join in the union of marriage will find His purposes in it, if the foundation is properly laid. Thus I share on the “ABC’s” of marriage.
Jesus is the “Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End” (Rev. 1:8). He is the “Author and Finisher” (Heb. 12:2) of our faith. He is the “A”. To have a successful marriage, we have to start at the main foundational point. We must start with “A”, Who is the Lord.
The next step in having a successful marriage is to be yoked equally together (2 Cor. 6:14) As a declaration of our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, each in the marriage must have declared publicly that they know Him, that they have repented of their sins, accepted His forgiveness, and have demonstrated that belief publicly in water baptism, the “B” portion of the foundation.
Placing this “brick” in the building will help sustain a long-lasting relationship founded on the Rock. When the floods come, when the temptations arise, when the winds blow hard, this foundational brick will help sustain them through the trials that will come.
Once the first two segments are in place by each partner, the next important cementing ingredient is covenant, the big “C”. Covenant is the everlasting commitment each will make to each other, knowing that they are making this life-long union before and with the Lord. When this three strand cord is in place, the trust in His word, as written in Ecclesiastes 4:12, “Though one may be overpowered by another, two can withstand him. And a threefold cord is not quickly broken” will hold strong.
Covenant is the solid commitment each makes to each other, to no longer live for one self, but to make the sacrifice necessary to live for the other. The marriage covenant, having been made, says to each other that “until death do us part” we will remain in the marriage for His purposes and will.
When the initial “ABC’s” for the foundation have thus been laid, the “D” word is not given any place to be considered at any point. Divorce is not a “plan B” option. It will not be a choice to be considered. The couple fully understands that whatever it takes, must be taken to assure the lasting union. They will work out whatever obstacles come their way, and forces that would storm against them. With His grace continually working in their relationship, the marriage union will endure.
Keeping these three foundational stones in place will maintain the covenant vows we made to our spouse, whether for the first time or the last time.
By knowing the Alpha and the Omega is Lord in each life, and that He is the One who will sustain us “for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness or in health, to love and to cherish 'till death do us part”, gives us the hope, love and faith for all times.
