Famed Life-Long Atheist Baptized at 85 Years Old: ‘This Took Too Long’
09-30-2018
In response to the “gnawing pain in my heart and soul about the meaning of life,” Australia’s former
governor-general, Bill Hayden, a life-long atheist, was recently baptized at the age of 85.

After living a great deal of his life in denial of the Creator, the former politician renounced his atheism
and joined the Catholic Church. He said witnessing so many selfless acts of compassion by Christians
over his lifetime — as well as a season of reflection following a stroke — inspired his decision.

According to The Catholic Leader, Hayden was baptized at St. Mary’s Church in Ipswich, near
Brisbane, on Sept. 9. He said at the time, “This took too long, and now I am going to be devoted. From
this day forward, I’m going to vouch for God.”

Hayden told The Australian he “always regarded” himself as a “fellow traveler with Catholicism,”
even declaring he was Catholic on official forms, though he never made a public commitment to the
faith.

“I would go to Mass every Sunday and then go to benediction when I was a teenager,” he said. “I didn’t
know that I wasn’t officially a Catholic, and found that out only later, when my sister did the family
history.”

Ultimately, after his stroke in 2014, the former governor-general said he discovered “more to life than
just me.” He continued, “I had to make a dedication of myself for the good of others, before God. I felt
that strongly.”

The Catholic priest who baptized Hayden, Father Peter Dillon, said the well-known lawmaker had a
change of heart several months ago. “It was a big thing for him … an act of submission to the fact that there was no denying for him that
God is real and he had come to discover that,” the priest explained.

Hayden noted he was prompted to finally turn to God after a hospital visit from Sister of Mercy Angela
Mary Doyle, a 93-year-old nun famous for her work with the poor. Hayden said he “always felt
embraced and loved by her Christian example.”

“Dallas [his wife], our daughter Ingrid and I recently visited Sister Angela Mary in the Mater Hospital
where she was a patient,” he recalled. “The next morning I woke with the strong sense that I had been
in the presence of a holy woman. So after dwelling on these things I found my way back to the core of
those beliefs — the Church.”

Many women of faith, including sexual assault survivors, found Thursday's Senate hearing testimony
by Dr. Christine Ford and Judge Brett Kavanaugh deeply troubling. Their posts on social media spoke
of inner turmoil no matter their political persuasion.

Author and speaker Mary DeMuth has written about her sexual assault as a child and said Ford's
recollection of laughter during her attempted rape brought her to tears.

"I am crying right now," she tweeted Thursday. "I remember that too – the bantering, the joking, the

“They were laughing with each other, two friends having a really good time with one another.” I am
crying right now. #KavanaughHearings I remember that too, the bantering, the joking, the lackadaisical

Southern Baptist leader and survivor Trillia Newbell tweeted, "I'm surprised by how hard it is to watch
this hearing."

I'm surprised by how hard it is to watch this hearing. Praying for others who are likely struggling too.
May God bring peace, comfort, and healing where needed.

Former prosecutor and sexual abuse expert Boz Tchividjian said the testimony created a painful day for
many survivors. "May these amazing souls be comforted and loved by those around them," he tweeted.

Boz Tchividjian@BozT

This has been a very painful day for many survivors having been triggered by what they witnessed in a
Senate hearing room. May these amazing souls be comforted and loved by those around them...and
may they end this difficult day with hope for tomorrow.

Likewise, Bible study speaker and assault survivor Beth Moore said, "A lot of people feeling stripped
bare today. Your kindness and compassion even toward matters you don't fully understand could be a
blanket to somebody. It's a cold world. Warm it up a little."

Christian publisher and abuse survivor Jennifer Lyell talked about three things people have done that
helped her over the years: believing her story and telling her so, telling her they were sorry and not
changing how they treated her.

With the rise of the #MeToo movement and the #ChurchToo movement, awareness of sexual abuse is
growing in the pews and affecting how people of faith view abuse survivors, be they in their church or
a Senate hearing room.

The Southern Baptist Executive Committee recently announced it will spend $250,000 for a sexual
abuse advisory study.

And two-thirds of Protestant pastors surveyed in a LifeWay Research study said sexual and domestic
violence affects their congregations. Eighty-five percent said they had heard of #MeToo and three-
quarters said they knew someone who had been sexually harassed.

One in five also said they personally had experienced domestic or sexual violence.

Keys to Lighting a Revival Fire in Your Heart That Won't Go Out

PAT AND KAREN SCHATZLINE  CHARISMA NEWS
The world is not looking for a space heater with which to warm their toes, but rather a bonfire that warms their inner man. We must be God's embers that restart the brushfire of revival. Hebrews 12:28-29 tells us, "Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be moved, let us be gracious, by which we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear. For our God is a consuming fire."
God has called us to burn for Him! Will you? This will require that our lamps stay trimmed and burning in expectation of His return (see Matt. 25:1-13). It is time to be a spectacle for God. John Wesley once said, "Catch on fire, and others will love to come watch you burn." We are called to be the burning ones! The world is looking for a light that will shine in the darkness. Jesus said, "Neither do men light a candle and put it under a basket, but on a candlestick. And it gives light to all that are in the house" (Matt. 5:15,). We must let our light shine, and we must allow His fire to burn up everything that isn't like Him.
When we meet God at the altar, the fire of God we encounter there is all-consuming. When Elijah confronted the prophets of Baal on Mount Carmel, the Bible says the fire fell and burned up everything—including the dust on the altar (1 Kings 18:38). When God's fire falls on us, it will consume everything, including the areas of our life where dust has accumulated. The Bible speaks of the refiner's fire in Malachi 3:2. This is a fire that is hotter than any other fire. It has the ability to burn away impurities and bring forth uncorrupted gold. The fire of God does the same thing in us. Job said, "But he knows where I am going. And when he tests me, I will come out as pure as gold" (Job 23:10, NLT). On the altar, God will purify you and prepare you to shine for Him.
If you long to burn for God, you must decide that sin is offensive and that you will march toward holiness. It is time to awaken to the call of God. It is time for us to draw a line in the dust of our lives. The kingdom of God is not about words but a demonstration of His power (1 Cor. 4:20). How long will we waver between two opinions? The shame Jesus suffered on the cross must be met with the hunger of the righteous and the redeemed.

Many of us in the church have prayed for revival, but we often do not realize that with revival comes Satan's attack. The New Testament church must rise to the occasion and stand firm. Yet with increased wickedness in the land also comes increased grace to stand against it! (See Rom. 5:20). Will history declare, "This was the church's finest hour"? Or will the world only remember what the media and the anti-church culture has said of us—that the church was filled with bloated, egotistical, money-hungry, self-righteous people who professed a faith they failed to demonstrate?
May the latter never be so! May we always be known as those who walked in love, truth, power, and freedom. Jesus told us how we should be remembered: "A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another" (John 13:34-35, NIV). Let us make it our mission to keep one hand on the cross and the other snatching the lost from the fire so that the church will never slide into oblivion! We must keep marching toward the gates of hell. We must keep pursuing the lost. We must never, ever give up on the least of these. We are called to stand between the living and the dead and break the curses (Num. 16:48). The epitaph of today's church shall never read, "The once-lost-and-now-found forgot to give away the truth that delivered them from darkness, thus their light no longer burns n a dark world."
May the church never have a tombstone, but rather always burn a neon sign that lights up the caverns of darkness, the foggy streets of eternity, the forests of fear, and the oceans of obscurity. His light should shine brightly, declaring, "Jesus Christ is Lord, and He came to seek and to save that which was lost" (see Luke 19:10).
This is the hour in which men must once again crawl off the altar of repentance and burn with a fire that cannot be extinguished. May eternity say of us, "These were the ones who grabbed hold of the altar and held on to that which released them from the weight of their sin and pain! These are the ones who with unabated breath labored in the fields that were white unto harvest."
Let us now make ready, for the battle is beginning and the salute of the righteous must be to welcome the king of kings as we wave good-bye to the opinions of finite man. This is the hour in which our hearts will be judged not by our works but by whether we truly understand that we possess Christ in us, the hope of glory!
Your voice matters now more than ever. Will you speak up? Dare we say to our kids that our nation was destroyed because we who called ourselves believers in Jesus were not willing to pay the price for speaking up? Will they look back and say that we were loud for the wrong reasons and cowered in the harvest season? We must speak up before we miss our moment. Let history declare that we were those who chose holiness over heathenism and purpose over procrastination. This is our now! We must rise up and lead a Holy Spirit revolution.

ANALYSIS: New Revelations Prove Netanyahu Right on Iran's Nuclear Program - Yochanan Visser ISRAEL TODAY

ANALYSIS: New Revelations Prove Netanyahu Right on Iran's Nuclear Program

Sunday, September 30, 2018 |  Yochanan Visser  ISRAEL TODAY
On Friday, Iran responded to the speech Israeli Prime Minister Benyamin Netanyahu gave during the annual General Assembly of the United Nations in New York City in which he revealed Iran has another never disclosed nuclear site in its capital Tehran.
Netanyahu said a secret nuclear warehouse inside Tehran contained 300 tons of nuclear-related material and demanded the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) immediately examined the evidence Israel has in its possession.
The Israeli PM also said Iran had recently spread 15 kilograms of radioactive material around Tehran last month to in an effort to hide its activities in the facility.
When Israel shared this information with the IAEA recently the nuclear watchdog did nothing according to an unnamed Israel official who spoke with TV Channel 10 in the country.
The Mossad, Israel’s Spy Agency, knows exactly what is stored in the facility the official said just like it knew what was in the secret nuclear archive in Tehran where Israel stole Iran’s nuclear secrets on January 31 this year.
Iran now says Netanyahu’s claims were “baseless and ridiculous” according to Bahran Qassemi, the spokesman of the Iranian Foreign Ministry.
Javad Zariff, Iran’s Foreign Minister called Netanyahu’s presentation at the UNGA “an arts and craft show” meant to obfuscate Israel has his own secret nuclear secret and undeclared actual atomic arsenal a reference to what Israel calls its life insurance.
Israel’s estimated sixty-five to eighty-five warheads, according to a Rand Corporation study are meant as the ultimate defensive weapon in case the country is threatened with annihilation, however.
Israel has, furthermore, repeatedly promised it would never be the first country to introduce nuclear weapons in the Middle East.
Iran, on the other hand, is aggressively exporting the Islamic Revolution to other parts of the Middle East and is the world’s leading sponsor of terrorism.
The Islamic Republic is not only using words to threaten Israel with destruction but is actively working on the annihilation of the Jewish state which it calls a cancer tumor which must be removed.
In addition, Iran is causing mayhem in several Arab countries such as Yemen, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Syria and Lebanon which was the first Arab country to become an Iranian satellite state.
Netanyahu’s revelations at the UNGA followed recent information about how Iran continues to deceive the world about its nuclear weapons program which is still in place until this very day despite the 2015 landmark-nuclear deal between the Islamic Republic and six world powers.
This was revealed by Israeli investigative journalist Ronen Bergman, the writer of the 2009 book “The Secret War with Iran”, in a Hebrew language article which was published on September 7.
In the article, which was based on original Iranian documents, Bergman revealed that the material the Mossad seized during the daring raid in Tehran earlier this year clearly showed that Iran has never stopped working on the development of a nuclear weapon.
Officially the Islamic Republic stopped its nuclear weapons program dubbed ‘AMAD’ in 2003 when the US army invaded Iraq in March 2003 and the regime in Tehran thought it would be next in line.
Bergman wrote that the Mossad had observed the warehouse in Tehran for more than one year and knew exactly what was stored there.
When a team of dozens of Mossad agents broke into the facility they knew which of the 32 giants safes contained the most relevant information about the AMAD project and its secret successor ‘project Sfand’.
The Sfand project, which was headed by nuclear scientist Fakhri Zada, was started in the fall of 2003.
Zada received a letter from Abassi-Duwani, another Iranian nuclear expert, who advised Zada to publish the parts of the atomic project that were peaceful in character in order to deceive the international community.
Abassi-Dawani wrote that neutron research should be kept secret because it would reveal that Iran continued research for the development of a nuclear weapon.
The Mossad also seized a letter written by then-Iranian Defense Minister Simhani which stated that Sfand would include: project Serab 1, a facility for an underground test with an atomic bomb and Serab 2 and 3, facilities for the production and integration of a nuclear warhead for the Shihab 3 ballistic missile.
The leaders of the Sfand project, which was a direct result of a decision by Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Al Khamenei, also decided to deny the IAEA access to military facilities where Iran was conducting work on its nuclear weapons program.
For this reason, Iran initially denied IAEA inspectors access to the military base near Parchin where the Islamic Republic was suspected of having conducted tests with detonators for nuclear warheads in special tubes.
When the IAEA was finally granted access to Parchin the Iranians had removed virtually all evidence their nuclear activities there.
Bergman now published so-called selfies of Iranian nuclear scientists standing next to two different kinds of test chambers for the detonators at Parchin.
“Presumably none of the photographers imagined that his pictures would ever reach Israel," Bergman wrote, adding that the photos he had seen proved beyond doubt that Iran had lied about the military dimensions of its nuclear program.
The Mossad material also proved Iran had lied about equipment for neutron research which it said was not in its possession and about its possession of a sophisticated camera that could capture the moment of the chain reaction that leads to the detonation of an atomic bomb.
The 55,000 pages and 182 disks stolen by the Mossad contained further evidence that Iran was actually developing a nuclear weapon in underground bunkers and with equipment that the Islamic Republic had always claimed was not in its possession.
“The bottom line of the material is clear and sharp and indisputable: it is a mega-scam in which senior Iranian officials and hundreds of people participated for years," Bergman wrote.
"For two decades Iran denied that it had a military nuclear project. But the contents of the safes brought to Israel tell a different, completely opposite, and undeniable story: For years, Iran has been conducting a covert nuclear project aimed at producing five nuclear bombs," he asserted.
Both Bergman, who has contacts within the Mossad and other Israeli intelligence services, and the Israeli government are convinced the Sfand project continued after the implementation of the nuclear deal between Iran and six world powers, in 2016.
Iran’s mega-scam started in 1987 when Khamenei, during a secret meeting of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran ordered the development of a nuclear weapon because of “external threats.”
“The little we can do to stand up to this danger is to make our enemies aware that we can defend ourselves. Accordingly, any step we take here will serve the defense of our nation and your revolution. With this aim in mind, you must work hard and fast,” Khamenei said at the time.

Israel - Prime Minister Addresses General Debate, 73rd Session

United Nations

Published on Sep 27, 2018

Benjamin Netanyahu, Prime Minister of the State of Israel, addresses the general debate of the 73rd Session of the General Assembly of the UN (New York, 25 September - 01 October 2018).
Speaking at the 73rd gathering of the world leaders this week at the United Nations in New York, Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu claimed that Israel has discovered ‘Iran’s secret atomic warehouse,” which contained as much as 300 tons of nuclear related equipment and material.” Standing at the podium of the General Assembly Israel’s Prime Minister showed images of alleged nuclear sites in Teheran, Iran, as well as one showing alleged Hezbollah’s “missile convergent sites along Beirut’s international airport” in Lebanon. Netanyahu addressed directly Iran’s government and said “we will continue to act against you in Syria, we will act against you in Lebanon, we will act against you in Iraq, we will act against you wherever and whenever we must act to defend our state and to defend our people.” He also said “I want to use this opportunity to express Israel’s appreciation to President Trump and Ambassador Haley for the unwavering support they provided Israel at the United Nations.” The United States recently pulled out of the UN Human Rights Council, claiming the “bias against Israel” at the Council and stop funding the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees. ---------------------------------------- Watch General Debate of the General Assembly (in original language) https://unwebtv.live/73_UNGA_FL
