At sundown Tuesday, Yom Kippur - the Jewish Day of Atonement - began. It is a solemn day of introspection - where there is a ban on eating, drinking and the wearing of leather shoes among others. But it is also known as the Sabbath of Sabbaths - and is a festival day. Why festive? Perhaps, because it's an appreciation of the opportunity that we have been given - to live as free human beings under the umbrella of God.
In addition, as you will see in the video, the people of the Carolinas need all the help they can get to try and overcome the devastation wrought by Hurricane Florence.
