Greetings to you once again.


You are not abnormal. Don't let the enemy or anyone else make you believe that. My new message below brings encouragement that we often need.

You Are Not Abnormal

 

But you are the ones chosen by God, chosen for the high calling of priestly work, chosen to be a holy people, God’s instruments to do his work and speak out for him, to tell others of the night-and-day difference he made for you—from nothing to something, from rejected to accepted.”

1 Peter 2:9-10 The Message

 

There are times when we think we are the only ones experiencing a trial, a bad moment, a situation that no one else has had or has gone through before. 

 

You are not abnormal. We are often in spiritual warfare. Where do you think Satan and his demons always attack first? The marriage. The family. The mission. The Lord’s chosen ones, in Israel and throughout the nations.

 

The Word tells us, prophetically, that in these last days we will experience trials, tribulations, roadblocks, temptations, and ongoing attempts by our enemy to curtail us from completing the mission set before us. Our enemy is not brilliant, but he is not dumb either. He has had enough experience to know what will keep us from pressing on, if we fall to his schemes.

 

A well-known prophetic man once said, “There are the three things that will be set before you in temptations. Gold, glory, or girls.” He was right.


(Or as Scripture puts it, in 1 John 2:16, "For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes and the boastful pride of life, is not from the Father, but is from the world.")

 

It is supernaturally natural for those who are seeking to hear and obey the call of the Lord Jesus (Yeshua), as He leads us through His Holy Spirit (Ruach HaKodesh), to be opposed by the one who hates God the Father and all those who are His children, Jew and Gentile. And if he can’t get you in one area, he will use another. Or those close to you, who may be more vulnerable.

 

Is it no surprise then that we, Laurie and I, have been warned by those abiding in Israel and others who have gone before, to be “prayed up” with intercessors covering our backs, as we go forward into His call and purpose for Israel.


“Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might. Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places


Therefore, take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist on the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm.  Stand firm therefore, having belted your waist with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having strapped on your feet the preparation of the gospel of peace; in addition to all, taking up the shield of faith with which you will be able to extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one And take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.


With every prayer and request, pray at all times in the Spirit, and with this in view, be alert with all perseverance and every request for all the saints,” Ephesians 6:10-18, NASB


As you too face opposition in your own daily walk, call upon the Name of the Lord, and as I often say, and you can too, “My times are in Your hands.” Lead us and protect us, Lord.

 

We can thus press forward and complete the assignments He has given to each of us with faith and courage.

Having given 39 years so far (and this being my 39th book!) to loving and supporting the Chosen People, as the Living God of Israel so ordained throughout the Bible of Christians and the Jewish people, it is proper and time to publish.


Sharing this book, containing some of my experiences in Jerusalem and all of Israel, is a joy, and also a promise to always stand with Israel. I know it will stir your heart as He reveals more of His plans for all.

"Call It What It Is" - Steve Martin, Love For His People Ministry


Call It What It Is

For I do not understand what I am doing; for I am not practicing what I want to do, but I do the very thing I hate.” Romans 7:15, NASB

As a rule, Americans today no longer call “sin” sin. Even in the Christian churches, we have developed another name for it, such as “a mistake,” “I failed,” “it is because of my parents,” or whatever other excuse we use to cover up sin.

We even go back to the old standby, which Adam used. “She made me do it.” That really doesn’t work if you want to stay married for long. (I have learned that these past 47 years.)

In May of 2025, I repented, publicly on Facebook (the new “women at the well” gathering place) of my sin of gluttony. Sure, I could have blamed my 220 pounds I carried, on a male frame of 5’9 ½”, on heritage, depressive “comfort food” eating, or just plain laziness. Besides, “that guy” is heavier than I am, so no big deal”, as I compared myself to others.

People even tried to provide an excuse for me, or comfort me, saying to try this or that diet; that it is not you, “it is the food we eat”. (Maybe, but still not the root cause.)

But the Lord looks at the heart. He knows our hearts. And He loves us too much to leave us in our sin, which brings us down, tears us apart, keeps us from walking in His plans and purposes for each of our lives. We will not be able to complete the mission He has for us, and desire to reveal to us daily, if we allow sin to hold us back, keep us unfit (physically and spiritually), and keep making excuses for that which we may actually hate, but can’t stop.

As Paul himself said, in Romans 17:17-20, “But I need something more! For if I know the law but still can’t keep it, and if the power of sin within me keeps sabotaging my best intentions, I obviously need help! I realize that I don’t have what it takes. I can will it, but I can’t do it. I decide to do good, but I don’t really do it; I choose not to do bad, but then I do it anyway. My decisions, such as they are, don’t result in actions. Something has gone wrong deep within me, and it gets the better of me every time." The Message

I repented, and I am glad I did. By His forgiveness and grace, I am now under 200 pounds since my return from Israel in May 2025. I will keep going. I am on a mission for God, and I need to be fit to accomplish it.

I hope you are, too. Complete the call He has on your life by being in good health, both spiritually and physically.

Greetings to you once again.


We just returned from a trip to St. Augustine, Florida, to spend time with our oldest son, Josh, on his 47th birthday, and his family, as well as my beautiful wife, Laurie's, 66th birthday (on the same day!) I always look forward to sharing a new message, photos, and a video or two with you. This week is no exception.


My message, "Live Generously," is to encourage you to live a life where you give freely and often, whether it's your time, love, funds, or even your prayers for others. It pleases the heart of our Lord Jesus (Yeshua) and His Father. There will be a follow-up message next week. The Bible says that a generous heart prospers. May we be a people known for that, as part of our love shared.


I hope you enjoy the two videos below - one of a military flyover, commenrating July 4th weekend, and a special music video that I took on November 1, 2015, of the Christian contemporary group 4Him, singing "Future Generations", on their 25th Anniversary Tour 2015 in Irmo (Columbia), SC. This was their final tour before disbanding.

Live Generously

  

“A generous person will be prosperous, and one who gives others plenty of water will himself be given plenty.” Proverbs 11:25, NASB

 

My good friend David Peterman and I had finished our recorded messages for the subsequent YouTube releases (check out the Love For His People channel) and were feeling a bit famished. Well, at least hungry. Having by now realized that Golden Corral offers the best value for our dollars, I followed him in his red Prius south to Rock Hill, South Carolina, from Ballantyne (Charlotte), North Carolina.

 

When we arrived at our destination, with the sweet aroma of wonderfully prepared food and trimmings, the place was not yet open. We had a half hour to kill.

 

I said, "Let's go to the Christian thrift store down the road," and he followed me in my 2013 Hyundai Elantra. (Royal Blue. Not all have white paint, as is so common these days in vehicle color.)

 

As I looked through the shirts for men's XL, one t-shirt caught my eye.

 

"Live Generously" (pictured above). Hmm, I thought to myself. Even though it had a bank's logo on the back (imagine that), I paid the $3.00 for it at the counter. And got 10% off for Senior Citizens' Day!

 

I'm not one to advertise for an unknown bank, but I liked the words and design and could see myself wearing it at the gym, on Walmart visits, or wherever.

 

The Holy Spirit then encouraged me to write a message to you and others about the importance of being generous. I love how He speaks to us. Just a simple word. Full of truth and encouragement.

 

Over the centuries, the Lord Jesus (Yeshua) has spoken to His people about the importance of being generous. Others in the walk of faith also wrote to the Messiah's followers, sharing the same message in the early days as believers in His Word, which provided instruction and guidance.

 

"In everything, I have given you an example of how, by working hard like this, you must help the weak, remembering the words of the Lord Yeshua himself, 'There is more happiness in giving than in receiving." Acts 20:35, Complete Jewish Bible

 

I encourage you to live a life of generosity. More joy comes when, out of His provision to share, we do. They will know us by our love and our care for the family of God.

P.S. Occasionally, I do like to "buffet" my body, but even in this, we must walk in moderation. Skip the fatty stuff. Enjoy the healthy items! We need to care for this temple He has given us to perform the work He has entrusted to us entirely.
