June 9, 2020 Charlotte, North Carolina, USA

Greeting to you our family and friends of Love For His People ministry. And to the new subscribers!
Crazy. I keep telling this to my good wife Laurie, and she keeps telling me the same. The world has gone crazy.

But what did we expect? In these days of shaking, as the Lord Yeshua (Jesus) Himself said, coupled with the Hebrew prophets words recorded centuries before and found in the eternal Bible, this was as planned. Believe it.

As I stated before in these previous communications to you, this is but a trial run we have seen and been on. The pandemics. The civil unrest. The exploitation of the hurting, down-and-out, the murder of the innocent in the womb, and the ones who have skin tones different from others. This is that which He spoke about. Only ones who refuse to acknowledge Him would prefer to differ.

Decisions, choices you and I made 10, 20, 30 years ago are being played out today. I remember a young leader named Erik Kruger (in his 30s) of a church we belong to, founded by him and Ron Milton, named Shiloh Fellowship (later renamed New Covenant Christian Church from 1980-1987) speak of those times then when we would make a decision. It would only seem to be a slight course correction or move at the time, but years, decades down the road we may end up in a place, relationship, habit, or reality that we really didn’t want.

Based on that, and other words that the Holy Spirit continually speaks in encouragement and direction, I wrote this morning, Though None Go With Me.

Decisions you made then, and decisions you make now, will take you down a road you may or may not like.

As one wise, yet imaginable figure said in a movie, “Choose wisely.”

I hope you do.

Ahava and shalom,

Steve Martin (with my good wife Laurie!)

“THOUGH NONE GO WITH ME” – Steve Martin, Founder/President

“But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” Joshua 24:15, NKJV

Simple words were spoken at that time when the man, his wife, and two sons were confronted with death. It came from a heart that had already been prepared and determined ahead of time – to follow Jesus. No turning back. No turning back.

Thus, the story behind the story that later became part of the song lyrics, “I Have Decided To Follow Jesus”. Read part of that now.

“About 150 years ago, there was a great revival in Wales, England. As a result of this, many missionaries came from England to northeast India to spread the Gospel. The region was known as Assam and comprised hundreds of tribes. The tribal communities were quite primitive and aggressive. The tribesmen were also called head-hunters because of a social custom which required the male members of the community to collect as many heads as possible. A man’s strength and ability to protect his wife was assessed by the number of heads he had collected. Therefore, a youth of marriageable age would try and collect as many heads as possible and hang them on the walls of his house.  The more heads a man had, the more eligible he was considered.

Into this hostile and aggressive community, came a group of Welsh missionaries spreading the message of love, peace, and hope of Jesus Christ. Naturally, they were not welcomed. One Welsh missionary finally succeeded in converting a man, his wife, and two children.

This man’s faith proved contagious and many villagers began to accept Christianity.

Angry, the village chief summoned all the villagers. He then called the family who had first converted to renounce their faith in public or face execution. Moved by the Holy Spirit, the man sung his reply, “I have decided to follow Jesus. No turning back.”

Enraged at the refusal of the man, the chief ordered his archers to arrow down the two children. As both boys lay twitching on the floor, the chief asked, “Will you deny your faith? You have lost both your children. You will lose your wife too.”

But the man replied, again singing, “Though none go with me, still I will follow. No turning back.” *

Are you ashamed too? – Love For His People newsletter, Steve Martin

Steve Martin, Love For His People Founder/President
May 27,2020 Love For His People in Charlotte, North Carolina, USA

Greetings Love For His People family, friends, plus a warm welcome to the new readers of these encouraging communications!

K.I.S.S.

Ever hear that? “Keep it simple, stupid.” (Don’t tell your kids that. They will repeat it. Trust me, having raised 4 and now 8 grandkids.)

I grew up sitting under the teachings of Derek Prince, and appreciated the opportunity the Lord Jesus gave me to serve with his ministry, led with the leadership of the International Director David Selby, for a total of 8 years – three years in Fort Lauderdale, Florida (1987-1990), and then for a second tour of duty for five years (2000-2005) in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Listening, watching, and reading the teachings brought forth from Derek, whom I consider one of the greatest Bible teachers who ever lived for 88 years he was here with us, gave me a solid foundation on which my faith walk now stands on today.

And Derek always kept it simple. No yelling. No pounding. No running around the stage, hands up in the air as if I didn’t see him. No expoundatory messages that left one wondering, “What did he say?” Just plain, simple, Bible truth. Gospel truth – on salvation, blessing Israel, demons, end of the age, marriage, relationships, faith, hope, love. You know, the basics of life on which to live one’s life.

Check him out.  Derek Prince International Ministries

Are you walking in faith today? Need some?

I hope your walk with our Lord has grown in these last 2-3 months as He has given us a “Sabbath, Shabbat” rest in Him, to slow us down and awaken us to what is really going on. Did you do that?

No more playing church. No more calling ourselves believers and acting as the rest of the world has so done.

Now is the time to stand up and be counted. You in?

I Am Ashamed
“When Daniel learned that the decree had been signed and posted, he continued to pray just as he had always done. His house had windows in the upstairs that opened toward Jerusalem. Three times a day he knelt there in prayer, thanking and praising his God.” Daniel 6:10, THE MESSAGE

I am ashamed.

If you were to have looked around the country (the USA and all nations) and saw all the churches closed down, you would have heard what so many were saying, “Oh we must be closed for safety reasons.” Or, “The ruling government says no one can gather in groups of over 10 people.” Or maybe this excuse was used, “What will people think if we aren’t “complying” with what the “know-it-all” scientists are telling us. After all, they are the ones who know it all.”

Or how about, “Because Bill Gates, Dr. Fauci, and Dr. Birx say it is so. They are right. They have the knowledge, experience, and truth.”

I repeat. I am ashamed.

As a Christian, who has proclaimed for decades that I serve the Living God, the One Who alone saves, heals, restores, protects, provides, directs, empowers…and then looked around all the others who have often said the same thing, but cowered in homes because of all the ones who declared otherwise, as if they were god themselves…

Where has been the, “Stand up, stand up for Jesus!” proclamation we used to sing decades ago?

No wonder the world thinks little of Christianity. No wonder we are not sought out as the ones having the answers, the solutions, the knowing of which way to go, when others continually have spoken that “their way is the way” and we as sheep just follow along like all the rest did, and do.

It is a shame. It is wrong.

It is saying to our God, the Creator, that during this pandemic that took the whole world down the path of pandemic fear and economic depression, that He is wrong, and they are right. And we, the ones who supposedly have the Truth, who have repeatedly said over and over that we are His children, instead chose to follow the words of the world, rather than the Word of God.

For, when it comes down to it, that which we really have said is that we don’t believe Him.

Where are the ones who fear God and not man? Who are the ones who would stand up and say, even after waiting through 2-3 months of this craziness, that we will serve the Righteous God, and not bow down to the empowered government that speaks out of ungodly, unrighteous, unholy spirits?

What a shame it has been. And we have been ones who have brought shame on our Lord, after saying we do follow Him, but then we do not.
How many would stand as Daniel did, when decrees were made, saying he could not pray to His God, for the ruling king was the one who was above all?

Read again, or for the first time, Daniel 6:15-24.

“Then these men came by agreement to the king and said to the king, “Recognize, O king, that it is a law of the Medes and Persians that no injunction or statute which the king establishes may be changed. Then the king gave orders, and Daniel was brought in and cast into the lions’ den. The king spoke and said to Daniel, ” Your God whom you constantly serve will Himself deliver you.”

A stone was brought and laid over the mouth of the den; and the king sealed it with his own signet ring and with the signet rings of his nobles, so that nothing would be changed in regard to Daniel. Then the king went off to his palace and spent the night fasting, and no entertainment was brought before him; and his sleep fled from him.

Then the king arose at dawn, at the break of day, and went in haste to the lions’ den. When he had come near the den to Daniel, he cried out with a troubled voice. The king spoke and said to Daniel, “Daniel, servant of the living God, has your God, whom you constantly serve, been able to deliver you from the lions?” Then Daniel spoke to the king, ” O king, live forever! “My God sent His angel and shut the lions’ mouths and they have not harmed me, inasmuch as I was found innocent before Him; and also toward you, O king, I have committed no crime.”

Then the king was very pleased and gave orders for Daniel to be taken up out of the den. So Daniel was taken up out of the den and no injury whatever was found on him, because he had trusted in his God.” NASU

I am proud, yes proud with a godly, righteous pride, that there have been a few who have stood in faith, and I among them, counting it a privilege to say that we do not bow down to that which seeks to take over the world, the world that alone belongs to Our God, Who never left His throne during all this time. I continue to stand with these, and encourage others to stand up, speak out, and serve the God they say they do, and must continue to do so now.

This has only been a test the Lord allowed, in His wisdom and understanding, to see how we would react, how we would walk in faith or fear, and how we would respond to a work of the enemy, the one who continually attempts to destroy, kill, and usurp the will of the Lord God Almighty.

What about you who call yourself a Christian, one who believes in Jesus Christ, Yeshua HaMashiach? What have you done to show it? And what are you going to do when it becomes really bad, when your faith must be shown and put into practice, in order not to bow down to that which is coming, that is not of God?

Whose word are you really going to believe, and trust in?

“Now therefore, fear the Lord, serve Him in sincerity and in truth, and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the River and in Egypt. Serve the Lord!

And if it seems evil to you to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” Joshua 24:14-15, NKJV

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “BUT THE RIGHTEOUS man SHALL LIVE BY FAITH.” Romans 1:16-17, NASU

Now think on this.

How about that change? - Love For His People newsletter, Steve Martin

April 24, 2020

Greetings Love For His People family and friends.

On June 18, 2018, almost 2 years go, I published this Now Think On This message after waking up from a dream the Lord gave me. Mind you, I rarely remember my dreams, though I know the Lord gives them. Probably the same for you.

We dream on, but most often can’t remember what they were when we wake up. I wish we could!

After seeing the changes and transitions going on in the nations in these last few months, due to the coronavirus pandemic, I believe the dream not only again applies to me, as another transition comes, but also to you.

Want to read about it?

Read on!

Ahava and shalom,

Steve Martin

“You will succeed in whatever you choose to do, and light will shine on the road ahead of you.” (Job 22:28, New Living Translation)

Dreams are another supernatural way the good Lord speaks to us. He gives us warnings, direction, hope, inspiration, or some other bit of knowledge for ourselves, a family member, or a group of people. When He gave me the following dream last night, following some prayer afterward as to its meaning, I knew it was for me.

But then now I think it may also be for a few of you. Read it, and if you sense an affirmation in your spirit, then too consider the possibility that the Lord may want to speak a confirmation in your heart as well.

Here goes.

The small car I was driving on the roadway seemed to be losing air in the front right-hand tire, and I thought it had picked up a nail. There was enough air left in the tire to get to my intended destination, but when I got out and looked at the tire, it wasn’t a nail or another object after all. In fact, after arriving, the rubber was totally coming off the rim! It reminded me of those tires that are re-treads, and after some good mileage had been traveled, they just fall off the main tread. You see remains of them often along highways where semi-trucks had lost the re-tread.

I then checked the left front tire, and the rubber was also starting to fall off. These had lasted just long and far enough to get me to my intended destination.

It’s a flat.

Further into the dream, I realized it just so happened that I had stopped the car near a tire store, and the attendant said he had some tires to replace these two with. I responded with an OK, but then thought, “I am going to be trading this car in for a bigger one. I don’t need the higher priced tires. I’ll get some others instead.” And so I did.

I did not know at this time what the next car was going to be, but I believed it was to be a larger vehicle which I was going to need for the upcoming days.

I then woke up.

When I asked the Lord what this was about, and trying to recall the details, I felt He was letting me know that a change was coming soon, and that the vehicle I had been driving had gone as far as He wanted it to go, to the very end of the line in this season. A bigger replacement vehicle was coming, as I looked to trade this one in. The smaller car would still be used by someone else, who would need it for their purpose, but it would not be big enough for the purposes and plans He had next for me.

Sometimes our Lord removes those things which have completed their service for the intended purpose, knowing that the next time or season will require a “larger vehicle” or a different location in order to fulfill the call on our life.

As for the tires “falling off the rim” dream image, it may seem drastic, but I believe that sometimes the Lord has to cause such a drastic adjustment to come in order for us to “wake up” to the fact that He has something more for us. Otherwise we may be content to stay as we are.

I know that is true.

Change is needed to keep us prepared for what is ahead. Change gets us from one point to another, as we “move” in the Lord’s leading. Without change, we would stay in one place, keep doing the same thing, and miss an opportunity He wants to give to us.

Change requires faith. Staying put isn’t always what the Lord desires. We must be open and willing to do as instructed, or as the next open door becomes known. We then must be willing to step through that entryway into the next mission.

Be thankful for those times when He “pushes” us to get there. A little encouragement from above is needed for us who tend to wait too long for the “next” to come. It may be that the “next” time is now.

And one more thing. Don’t despise the small vehicle you had been riding in, for it got you to the destination just arrived at, having served its purpose for that time. Be thankful that because of it, you are now at the next transfer point, to receive the next vehicle which will take you further on the road, onto the next journey.

As I said earlier, I know this dream was meant for me, and I highly suspect there are a few others who many consider this is for you too.

Move in faith as He leads. Change cometh!

Shalom and ahava (peace and love in Hebrew).

Now Think On This #345- in the year of our Lord 06.18.18 – “Change the Tires, Trade the Car”, Monday, 11:15 am

Republished #17 Think About It. Again. 04.24.2020 “Change the Tires, Trade the Car” Friday 8:15 am

by Steve Martin

With my 500th Now Think On This message having been written in April 2020, I started wondering a year ago what it would be to re-publish some of the earlier, or for that matter, more recent ones that seemed to have a prophetic nudge to them. I started out by coming up with a name and a logo, (I love logos!) for these new, and yet old messages, and gave them the name, “Think About It. Again. Or for the First Time.”

Then I went through some of those earlier ones to see what I had written, anticipating that they would be appropriate and fitting to republish. Hoping they had a “timeless” edge to them. As I found them I published them again over this last 12 months on our website www.loveforhispeople.com.

When the time came having accumulated enough for a small book, believing 15 or 16 would do, another book would come forth. And behold, it did! You may have read them when published for the first time, but that would have been from over 8 years ago when I started. If not, I hope you get inspired as you read them now, giving a new hope, some more encouragement, and maybe even a smile that would appear on your face.

Let there be blessings on ye head,

Steve Martin
