Abraham Walked in Faith

“By faith Abraham, when he was called, obeyed ^[a]by going out to a place which he was to receive for an inheritance; and he left, not knowing where he was going.” Hebrews 11:8, NASB

Journeys begin with a step. If you want to go forward, you must step forward. When God calls us to move out, He is expecting us to do so by trusting in Him, to have faith in His leading and provision.

All throughout the Bible, those who heard the Lord call them had to respond. Not in fear or trepidation, but in the knowledge that He would be with them each step along the way. If you and I look back and see where we have come from, and His promises fulfilled in our lives thus far, we too can have the courage and strength to trust Him for the next part of our life’s journey.

I look to Abraham (Avraham in Hebrew), King David, the prophets, and Paul as men, and women who joined them, as my example in how to trust the Lord and walk in the calling He has given me. Above all, I keep my eyes on my Lord Jesus, Yeshua HaMashiach.

^“Do you see what this means—all these pioneers who blazed the way, all these veterans cheering us on? It means we’d better get on with it. Strip down, start running—and never quit! No extra spiritual fat, no parasitic sins. Keep your eyes on Jesus, who both began and finished this race we’re in. Study how he did it. Because he never lost sight of where he was headed—that exhilarating finish in and with God—he could put up with anything along the way: Cross, shame, whatever. And now he’s there, in the place of honor, right alongside God. When you find yourselves flagging in your faith, go over that story again, item by item, that long litany of hostility he plowed through. That will shoot adrenaline into your souls!” Hebrews 12:1-3, The Message

It is a faith walk. It must be a walk of faith. Otherwise, anyone could do it. You and I are not anyone.

Because of our Redeemer, Who saved us to have eternal life with Him, we can put our feet on solid ground, and go as the Holy Spirit, Ruach HaKodesh, leads us on. Every step of the way as He guides. Though not easy, it is rewarding and fulfilling as we see His hand, as believers in our God.

You have been called to be a man or woman of faith. Watch those who walk among you who have grown in faith and in courage. Aspire to be like them.

John Hagee’s book, “The Middle East Conflict - The Origin of Jew Hatred” is a must read by Christians

“The Middle East Conflict - the Origin of Jew Hatred” by John Hagee, is among the best books I have read regarding the Jews, Christians, and anti-Semitism.

This is not a paid endorsement. I was just so impressed with John Hagee’s clear and full explanation of the current hatred even in our own country, the USA, that has risen up so astronomically in recent years.

The root causes, the centuries of animosity towards Jews, with “Christians” being among the worst, is accurately written and clearly stated. The awful actions taken against the ones whom the Lord, who Himself came as a Jew and still is, is appealing. In several chapters the book made me angry, sorrowful, repentant, and now more than ever standing strong for my friends, the Jews.

Our very Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ, Yeshua HaMashiach, came as a Jew and remains a Jew. We, as Christians, must stand with His people as one’s grafted-in ourselves to the tree.

Read it for yourself. Know and understand the accurate history. Be counted among the dwindling ones who stand for Israel and the Jews worldwide.

Do you see the signs? Weekly message - Steve Martin, Love For His People

 

June 19, 2025 Greetings to you once again. “And in the morning, ‘There will be a storm today, for the sky is red and threatening.’ You know how to discern the appearance of the sky, but are you unable to discern the signs of the times?" Matthew 16:3, NASB Each of us wants to know what the future holds. We even want to know what the weather is going to be like the next day. I like the FOX Weather app, which gives the 14-day forecast. (The local channel only shows 7 days. But they are not as big as the national broadcast channel.) The Lord knows our weaknesses and has promised to give us signs along the way to help us discern His path and walk on it. In 2014, I wrote the book, "Prophetic Stories - Signs Along the Way." It was amazing to see some of the prophetic ways the Lord directed me, and how He used signs to accomplish it. (You can order the book below. Only $5.99 on Amazon.) He Gives Us Signs “So, Gideon said to Him, “If now I have found favor in Your sight, then show me a sign that it is You who speak with me.” Judges 6:17, NASB   An excellent Bible teacher by the name of Bob Mumford, whom I first heard of during the “discipleship, shepherding, and commitment days” (for me, those were the years 1977-1994), had a book entitled Take Another Look at Guidance. A worthwhile read for those seeking to understand how our heavenly Father guides us in His ways and purposes for our individual lives. I have based many decisions on Mumford’s recommendations. If you're not inclined to check it out (but I highly recommend that you do), I'll help you. From Bible.org: Bob Mumford in Take Another Look at Guidance, compares discovering God’s will with a sea captain’s docking procedure: A certain harbor in Italy can be reached only by sailing up a narrow channel between dangerous rocks and shoals. Over the years, many ships have been wrecked, and navigation is hazardous. To guide the ships safely into port, three lights have been mounted on three huge poles in the harbor. When the three lights are perfectly lined up and seen as one, the ship can safely proceed up the narrow channel. If the pilot sees two or three lights, he knows he’s off course and in danger.   God has also provided three beacons to guide us. The same rules of navigation apply—the three lights must be lined up before it is safe for us to proceed. The three harbor lights of guidance are: 1. The Word of God (objective standard) 2. The Holy Spirit (subjective witness) 3. Circumstances (divine providence) Together, they assure us that the directions we’ve received are from God and will lead us safely along his way. - Gregory Asimakoupoulos Bob Mumford, Take Another Look at Guidance. Again, the three harbors’ lights are: the Word, the Holy Spirit, and circumstances. All throughout Scripture, from Adam to Moses to Gideon to Mary to those gathered in the Upper Room on Pentecost (on the Lord’s feast known as Shavuot), the Lord gave His people signs. Being He knows all, He certainly knows that sometimes things are not so apparent as He would hope they would be for us. I encourage you to seek the Lord in your daily decisions, to learn how He speaks, what He speaks, and when He speaks, so you too can more fully know of His plans and purposes for you. Do not be like those who missed the Messiah Yeshua HaMashiach, when He came the first time. Even though they looked for signs, they failed to see the One who was right before their eyes. “But though He had performed so many signs before them, yet they were not believing in Him.” John 12:37, NASB And then again in Hebrews 2:3-4, Complete Jewish Bible, it reads: “…then how will we escape if we ignore such a great deliverance? This deliverance, which was first declared by the Lord, was confirmed to us by those who heard him; while God also bore witness to it with various signs, wonders and miracles, and with gifts of the Ruach HaKodesh which he distributed as he chose.” Be one who follows, even chases, after the Lord, to better know Him. My good friend David Peterman and I had this dialogue after our recent trip to Israel, May 4 to 14. We speak of the Lord's prophetic signs in our days, right now, as seen in His Land and among His chosen people, the Jews. The Living God of Israel lets us know that He is moving in the earth, as He calls out to us daily. The second video is the first of a 4-part recording when we went on a "tour" in the Jerusalem, Israel office of Christian Friends of Israel. I personally was amazed at what CFI Jerusalem has going on and has done in their 40 years of ministry among the Jews and Arabs of the Land. Watch the first one. It then leads to the others. (P.S. I served on the CFI-USA board for 14 years, under the leadership of Hannele Pardain, and this experience on the tour was beneficial.) And the third video (what a treat), recorded by me at the Christian Friends of Israel 40th ministry anniversary event in Charlotte, North Carolina, in May 2026, makes known the excellent new connection between Derek Prince Ministries and CFI-Jerusalem. Knowing Derek Prince when I was a staff member, this is special.

We are living in the last days, the times prophesied long ago, right before the Lord Jesus Christ, Yeshua HaMashiach, returns. Even as He spoke to the prophets of old in Israel, continuing through Jesus’ time on earth, and with the early church, the Lord is fulfilling His promise. His Eternal Word that He would pour out His Spirit on all flesh, and we would prophesy. Prophesy comes in many ways – through the spoken word, signs, dreams, visions, tongues. The Lord uses all to speak to His people, give them guidance along the way, and show His provision for the plans He has for us. As we walk along His path chosen for us, He desires to encourage and reveal His plans to us. He most certainly uses His Written Word. He also uses prophetic words. Here are a few that He has given to me. I am continually amazed at how He speaks, how He directs, and the assuring results of His guidance. We need the gifts of the Holy Spirit operating in these times. As the Bible says, He desires that all would prophesy, in order to assist believers in knowing His will, and speaking to non-believers that we serve an All-Knowing God, who shows us the way. The gifts of prophesy, seeing signs and wonders, and experiencing His love through His fascinating methods is for all.
