Thankful. Always. Our Lord. – Love For His People Ministry

Thankful. Always. Our Lord. – Love For His People Ministry

Nov. 24, 2022 Love For His People Ministry in Charlotte, North Carolina USA

Greetings family and friends,

As the nation of the United States of America today stops and gives thanks, above all to the Almighty God, we share His goodness, provision, and direction with all.

Without His grace and mercy operating in the world and the nations, we would not have anything good, decent, or of eternal value.

We give thanks to our God the Father, Yeshua (Jesus) His only Begotten Son, and the Holy Spirit (Ruach HaKodesh) as they direct and judge the hearts of men and women.

With all thanksgiving and praise,

Steve and Laurie Martin, Love For His People founders

"Holy Spirit" - Now Think On This by Steve Martin

Holy Spirit

“Then Peter said to them, "Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. For the promise is to you and to your children, and to all who are afar off, as many as the Lord our God will call." Acts 2:38-39, NKJV

Some know Him as the third Person of the Godhead, for He is. Others may know Him better as the Comforter, for He is that too. In fact, Jesus said that once He had ascended into heaven, He would send the Comforter, the Holy Spirit. He did.
In some circles, He is known as Ruach HaKodesh, as so in the Hebrew language. (“Ruach” – Spirit, “Ha”- the, “Kodesh” – Holy.)
In the New American Standard version of the Bible, the Holy Spirit is spoken of 1,127 times. That may be surprising to many. Some think He quit His work on this planet after the first century. How sad is that? Especially if it was true.
We first read of Him in Genesis 1:2, “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was unformed and void, darkness was on the face of the deep, and the Spirit of God hovered over the surface of the water.” (Complete Jewish Bible)
Then a few verses later we read this in Gen 1:26-28, “Then God said, "Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth. So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.” (NKJV) The Trinity in action, in the very beginning. God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
King David knew of the Holy Spirit, as recorded in Psalm 51:10-12, “Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Do not cast me away from Your presence, and do not take Your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of Your salvation and uphold me by Your generous Spirit.” (NKJV)

Yeshua (Jesus) promised this in John 14:25-26, “I have told you these things while I am still with you. But the Counselor, the Ruach HaKodesh, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you everything; that is, he will remind you of everything I have said to you.” (Complete Jewish Bible)
Throughout the Gospels, in the Acts of the Apostles (Messengers) and the Epistles, written primarily by Jews, the Holy Spirit continued to interact with mankind. He never would leave nor forsake.
Paul, formerly known as Saul, a Jew, both before and after he became a believer, was among the first to persecute the new believers in Yeshua. He was fully committed to doing so, and did quite extensively until he literally saw the light. Later he wrote this in his writings, speaking of the Holy Spirit’s continuing action in his life, and that of Timothy’s, his disciple, many years after Pentecost (Shavuot in Hebrew).
In 2 Timothy 1:13-14, Paul wrote to his spiritual son, “Hold fast the pattern of sound words which you have heard from me, in faith and love which are in Christ Jesus. That good thing which was committed to you, keep by the Holy Spirit who dwells in us.” (NKJV)
The dwelling of God’s Spirit continued throughout their lives.
Even Jude, in his short book, wrote in verses 20-21, “But you, dear friends, carefully build yourselves up in this most holy faith by praying in the Holy Spirit, staying right at the center of God's love, keeping your arms open and outstretched, ready for the mercy of our Master, Jesus Christ. This is the unending life, the real life!” (THE MESSAGE)
Praying in the Holy Spirit was, and still is, a gift of the Holy Spirit. Some have long dismissed this to their own hurt, and thus lack spiritual power in their Christian walk today.
When Ruach HaKodesh fulfilled the promise of Yeshua (Jesus), in coming after Jesus’ ascension 50 days later on Pentecost (“Pente” - 50 in Greek) on the Lord’s Feast of Shavuot, He indeed empowered the previously fearful, carefully hidden away in the Upper Room. Those same 120 disciples (come with me to Israel and I will show you that location) were the ones who then changed the world through the mighty outworking of the Spirit in them.
The Baptism of the Holy Spirit is a real thing. It is a much-needed experience in the life of the Church, the One New Man, to encounter the lies and deceit of the enemy we battle, and which the world glorifies. While satan the deceiver advances his agenda, it will be those walking, moving, and believing in the Almighty God, through the power of the Holy Spirit in them, who will be the ones putting up the fight to bring about the deliverance of souls, humans, for the Savior Yeshua HaMashiach, Jesus Christ, the Messiah.

By grace, I received the Holy Spirit’s baptism in my high school senior year, in 1973, even as a Roman Catholic. Since then, 46 years ago as of this writing, I have been praying in tongues, receiving prophetic words, seeing actual miracles of supernatural healing in “real” time, and knowing all the gifts of the Holy Spirit exist today. Because He does live and move daily in lives around the world, we are thus able to show what the world needs to know about and experience too.
If you walk with the Spirit of the Living God of Israel, Who energizes daily (for we all need Him), then great!
If not, then what are you waiting for? Ask. Seek. Knock. He will come. To you.
Now think on this and see what good things the Lord has in store for you and those around you.

Think About It. Again. - Teams – "It Takes Two or More" - Now Think On This Steve Martin

July 12, 2019

Greetings friends of Love For His People.

Five years ago on April 16, 2014, I wrote and shared this message. I believe it is even more important now as it was back then.

Read. Think About It. Again. Or for the first time.

Bless others as you walk this day. They need you.

Teams – It Takes Two or More

“In the Antioch congregation were prophets and teachers — Bar-Nabba, Shim‘on (known as “the Black”), Lucius (from Cyrene), Menachem (who had been brought up with Herod the governor) and Sha’ul. One time when they were worshipping the Lord and fasting, the Ruach HaKodesh said to them, “Set aside for me Bar-Nabba and Sha’ul for the work to which I have called them.” After fasting and praying, they placed their hands on them and sent them off. So these two, after they had been sent out by the Ruach HaKodesh, went down to Seleucia and from there sailed to Cyprus.” Acts 13:1-4 CJB

Movies get our attention as much or more than any other image we may see. They can convey a message and impart a vision like no other media.

I like movies. I like to sit in the theatre, watching the big screen, being captivated by the action and emotion for that hour and a half, and then think about it later, reliving some of that which I experienced.

Movies have impact on people. That is why so many of us go to them or watch on TV and on our iPads if we have one. They get us “out of here” and take us to a place we may not have been before, or will never get to go to in this life.

Sports can have that same emotional and lasting impact in our situations. We have our favorite players and teams, whom we give ourselves to, sometimes with our whole hearts. Growing up for me it was the Minnesota Twins Major League Baseball team that I cheered on. For my good wife Laurie, well, it was the Chicago Cubs. (I will just leave it at that and continue to write on.)

When you combine a good human life story with a sports theme, you really can have an impact on people, producing an inspiring movie. I will always remember the heart moving film Rudy, about the Notre Dame Fighting Irish college football player, getting his one moment to have his lifetime dream fulfilled. Both my Dad and I, and later my two sons, could relate to much of what Daniel Eugene "Rudy" Ruettiger grew up with, and desired.

Ruettiger's story was told in that 1993 film, which starred actor Sean Astin in the title role as Rudy. The film was written by Angelo Pizzo, directed by David Anspaugh and produced by Rob Fried, both of whom were involved in Hoosiers. Ruettiger appeared in a cameo as a fan behind Rudy's father and brother during the final scene. Dad and I later met Rudy a few years before Dad died of lymphoma cancer in July 2000. It had been a real desire of his to do so.

Most sports we cheer on are of teams, where two or more players, whether men or women, combine their skills, work together after much practice time, and compete against another team for the joy of winning and the winning prize. They can achieve something that those going at it alone will not. They accomplish victory together. If they have tried doing it by themselves, it would not have been possible to get it done. Two or more contending for the same goal indeed are better than one. Teammates get it done.

In these last days, as He did in the first century, I believe the Lord is forming teams to accomplish His end time purposes. He is not wanting one man or one woman going at it alone, knowing they will fall and fail. We have been created to live and work together as a team, on a team. Something more, something greater happens when we do so, rather than going at it alone.

Rudy could not have had that moment of glory out there on the football field battling against the opposing group of 11 players by himself. Because his teammates were there and did their individual parts, he was able to fulfill his dream, resulting in that dramatic action that made a good movie, and touched lives for so many more years.

I want to impact this world with the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. I want to give myself to accomplishing the dreams He has placed in my heart, as part of His eternal plan and purpose in the nations. I know you do too.

The Lord is putting together His teams to get the job done. He is connecting bone to bone, joints and ligaments, which will provide the means and support to move, to go, whereby we will get the job done. As my wife and I connect with a team, our gifts given to us to serve others with will be joined with those having their gifts, which together as a team will change lives forever in the nations.

May your heart’s purpose be to connect, to find those you are to team with, and as one together fulfill the calling you and those you walk with will have in His wide Kingdom realm. Be a team player.

Now think on this,

Strength For Israel's 1st gathering in the Barn! - July 5, 2019 in Fort Mill, SC

Mordecai (Maynard) Porter blows the shofar!

On Friday, July 5, 2019, the first Friday of the month gathering of the Strength For Israel for Shabbat occurred. Over 55 people presented themselves to the Lord, to receive His ahava (love) and shalom (peace) in The Barn at Antioch International Church in Fort Mill, South Carolina.

After the greeting by leader David Peterman, Shabbat candles were lit by Luana Peterman, wife of David. Steve & Laurie Martin then led the people in worship, joined by Tommy Lopez (keyboard), Doug Goff (bass guitar), Tom Fahey (electric and acoustic guitars), Mike Stephens (percussion), and Steve Hammer Niewulis, all the way from Hickory, North Carolina, on the drums. That was after he had only a few hours notice! Luana Peterman and Tiffany Bryant also sang beautifully with the team.

David Peterman then spoke on "Ancient Paths", as some in USA Christian churches are now saying that the Old Testament has no relevance for today, and need not be read. Wrong! The entire Bible, Scripture, is for believers today and must be read, understood, and honored if we are to follow in the Lord's ways and be His disciples.

When I got home after the meeting, I had received a text from a dear friend and decided to share my response to her with you.

We give thanks to Abba, God the Father, Yeshua (Jesus) and Ruach HaKodesh, the Holy Spirit for coming!

Ahava and shalom,

Open letter to Cathy Hargett, Founder of Highway To Zion in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Saturday, July 6, 2019 12:34 am

Good morning, Cathy.

Thanks for your text you sent last night at 10:17 pm, after Laurie and I had gone to bed. Because a text response may have woken you up, I am emailing a response instead.

I appreciate your words, "there was an anointing on your worship that I think I would call "His authority".

Personally, I believe the Lord is not only giving Laurie and me, but also David and Luana Peterman, a new anointing for Strength For Israel. When we decided a few months ago that the Lord would have us move it from the "basement" (lower level room in Antioch) to the main auditorium Barn, after being down there a year and a half, even then we felt it would be going to the next level - literally too!

With that comes greater anointing from the Lord, and as you said, new authority to go with it.

We will be impacting the church, the neighborhood, and the cities around us, as the Lord is giving us a new platform to do that, in Him, for them.

Shabbat Shalom!

Steve

If you are in the Charlotte, North Carolina in August, plan on coming Aug. 2, 2109 (every 1st Friday night of the month at 7 pm) to our next gathering. Info here: Strength For Israel. Plan on coming even if you live outside of the city or state!

Here are some more photos from the Strength For Israel gathering July 5, 2019.

LoveMusic! - Ghost - MercyMe (music video)

Ghost
MercyMe

October 28, 2018

Greetings LoveMusic! listeners. Back again after a few months on the road, on the job, on with life...

Today's song I hadn't heard until a year ago. I actually posted this originally exactly a year ago too, on 10.28.17. GHOST by MercyMe is quite timely, being many will soon celebrate a holiday filled with witchcraft, while at the same disguised as just fun and games. It isn't that at all. Many Christians have been deceived for many decades in regards to this.

My good wife Laurie and I were watching the recorded DOVE Awards in 2017 on the TBN TV channel, and MercyMe won Artist of the Year. I have liked their music and love for the Lord for a while, and have several of their CDs. They have been around 20 years. That I didn't know.

Earlier in the show, aired from Nashville, they sang their new song "Even If". I had never heard that one either, but I loved it! So I bought the MP3 to have the song on my playlist, but also to support them, as I often do with Christian artists. (If we want good ministry, we have to support them and others! Like Love For His People too, which I hope you will.)

As I listened back then to the downloaded album in the morning (at 3:00 am EDT), the last song was GHOST. My spirit rose inside of me. My heart got a little lighter. I hit the repeat button over and over again.

Maybe you will too.

Ghost - lyrics
There's a ghost
There's a ghost inside of me
Not like those drips in old bed sheets
Saying "trick or treat"
Different
Oh, this ghost is different
Not one that leaves me scared to death
But one that puts my fear to rest
Oh, holiness keep haunting me
Oh, you're my hope, you're my peace
Ironic in a way
I'm no longer afraid
And the ghost is to blame
There's a ghost
There's a ghost inside of me
Not something from some campfire story
Where I'm terrified to sleep
Opposite
This ghost is quite the opposite
He came just like a welcomed friend
And I was comforted
Oh, holiness keep haunting me
Oh, you're my hope, you're my peace
Ironic in a way
I'm no longer afraid
And the ghost is to blame
I'm not afraid
I'm not afraid
No longer afraid
Lead me through the darkness
Lead me through the unknown
Oh, lead me holy ghost
Lead me through the darkness
Lead me through the unknown
Oh, lead me holy ghost
Lead me through the darkness
Lead me through the unknown
Oh, lead me holy ghost
Lead me through the darkness
Lead me through the unknown
Oh, lead me holy ghost
