‘God Has a Mission for Me’: Roger Stone Tells CBN News He’s Not Out for Revenge, But On a New Path

‘God Has a Mission for Me’: Roger Stone Tells CBN News He’s Not Out for Revenge, But On a New Path

07-15-2020 CBN News David Brody
WASHINGTON – Now that Roger Stone is no longer going to jail, the former political consultant has quite a few people to thank. Donald Trump is right at the top of the list, but spiritually speaking he has someone even greater than the president to thank, namely Jesus Christ.
In January of this year, in the middle of all his legal troubles, Stone attended an outdoor prayer service in Florida led by Franklin Graham. Stone tells CBN News he was desperate, struggling and stressed out. Graham had met with him before the event and that night Stone made his move.
“At that moment, I felt the calling,” Stone says. “I stood up with 500 other people. I wasn’t the slightest bit embarrassed. I confess that I was a sinner. I repeated a pledge that he recited, and it was as if a cement block was lifted off my chest. I can’t even explain it.” Stone says it gave him security about his future. “I was never scared. I was never worried. I was completely confident that the Lord would guide the president to do the right thing.”
For decades, the provocateur enjoyed a reputation as the bad boy of politics. Then came convictions of lying to Congress and obstructing a congressional investigation into Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign.
“I don’t regret anything that I did in 2016 because I didn’t break the law,” Stone tells CBN News. “They wanted me to lie, to bear false witness against the president in return for some kind of leniency.”
Most political observers would expect Stone to be on the warpath against his enemies. But now, despite anger against prosecutors that he says were dishonest and politically motivated, Stone says he’s on a new path.
“Here’s the big difference. In the old days, I would have wanted revenge. I would have wanted to take revenge against every one of them but now I’ve realized that vengeance is God’s, it’s not mine,” he explained.
Stone doesn’t feel a need to go to his original playbook. “I no longer am obsessed with the Sicilian concept of revenge, which generally speaking is a dish that tastes best when eaten cold,” he added.
Still, Stone couldn’t resist putting what he’s been through in spiritual terms. “I really do believe that those who are trying to undo this president, those who are trying to destroy me, trying to destroy Michael Flynn, who’s a very good man and great American patriot war hero, I do believe they’re satanic,” he said.
Stone wasn’t done. “They cut corners and what’s outrageous is their arrogance, their moral superiority, when in fact, they have no morals at all,” he said. “I don’t believe that any of these people involved in my prosecution are really believers in God.”
CBN News reached out to former members of the Office of the Special Counsel about Stone’s satanic remark. A spokesman declined to comment.
Meanwhile, you can be sure that Stone won’t be declining comment as he moves forward with his life.
“I can guarantee you I don’t intend to become boring,” he says. As for regrets, he has them. “I do regret the fact that it took this long for me to return to the church because I realized that I could have had the solitude and the solace and the strength and the fortitude to fight this much earlier. I went through a year of hell before I found the way.” Will he now find the way to do the hard task the Bible requires of praying for his enemies  “The Lord will deal with them so it’s not like they will go unpunished. That makes it easier to pray for them for when that moment comes.”
As for Stone’s immediate future, he wants to help re-elect President Trump, this time from his perch on the outside. As for his purpose going forward, he’s waiting on God. “I think God put me in this position at this time for a purpose,” Stone tells CBN News. “So if God has a mission for me, He hasn’t revealed it to me yet, but if He does, I’m ready for duty.”

Pat Robertson, Stephen Strang Unpack Why Trump Followers Are So Excited Right Now

Pat Robertson interviewing me on "The 700 Club" about "Trump Aftershock" (YouTube/CBN News)
I'm proud to announce that my latest book, Trump Aftershock, releases today. In it, I detail Trump's accomplishments since being elected and, as a result, what God is doing in our nation in this hour. You can find the book at trumpaftershock.com or anywhere books are sold.

CBN founder Pat Robertson interviewed me on The 700 Club on Monday, Nov. 5, about Trump Aftershock. One thing Robertson pointed out was that I don't simply share my opinion in this book; I report the facts and back it up with pages of research. Trump Aftershockcombines my journalistic training and my Christian worldview to give readers what I hope is an honest, God-centered look at all Trump has done since he was elected president.

Interestingly enough, one of the things I admire most about Trump is what most people hate: He's a disrupter. Since becoming president, he has exposed and uprooted much of the so-called deep state. After all, he promised during his campaign to drain the swamp, and I think he's doing just that. For example, if Hillary Clinton had won the presidency, we would never have found out about Lisa Page and Peter Strzok's secret text messages. Clinton's administration would have covered the situation up, and Page and Strzok probably would have been promoted. Trump is cleaning house as no one else has because he doesn't care if people don't like him. Most other politicians, on the other hand, just want to keep everyone happy.

As I point out to Robertson, though, Trump's lack of concern for others' opinions of him has provoked a firestorm of opposition. This opposition includes radical leftist billionaires such as George Soros, Warren Buffett and Tom Steyer. These wealthy people have put millions of dollars toward hindering Trump's agenda. And that money isn't just going to campaigns; they're setting up organizations that give money to antifa and other leftist groups. There's even evidence that the liberal protests we're seeing on the news are funded by the left—even to the point of paying protesters!

But even billionaire radicals can't stop the enthusiasm that follows Trump. Just a few weeks ago, he and Cruz joined forces at a rally, which sold out because so many people wanted to come. And this doesn't just happen in a handful of places; it's everywhere Trump goes. He packed out a stadium of about 6,000 in a small Nevada town, whereas Joe Biden was rallying across the state and got fewer than 200 people.

This enthusiasm, of course, isn't widely reported, but it reveals a level of excitement welling up in the American people. I can't help but think this is because ... read more

'Ripped from Tomorrow's Headlines': What Joel Rosenberg Reveals in 'The Kremlin Conspiracy'

CBN News 03-06-2018
berg has written numerous gripping political thrillers – many of them dealing with radical Islam. But his latest book takes on a different threat to the US and the West – Russia.
Rosenberg's past efforts have turned out to be prophetic, "ripped from tomorrow's headlines." His latest book mirrors today's disturbing global developments once again.
In the book, an American president is focused on growing tensions in North Korea and Iran, even as an ominous new threat is emerging in Moscow.
Pat Robertson talks with Joel C. Rosenberg about his latest novel, The Kremlin Conspiracy, on Tuesday's 700 Club.
A czar is rising in the Kremlin, a Russian president feverishly consolidating power, silencing his opposition, and plotting a brazen and lightning-fast military strike that could rupture the NATO alliance and bring Washington and Moscow to the brink of nuclear war.
But in his blind spot is the former Secret Service agent, Marcus Ryker, trained to protect but ready to kill to save his country. Everything he learned to protect our president, he must use to take out theirs.
Rosenberg says the Russian president in his new book is not precisely meant to be Russia's Vladimir Putin but is "Putinesque."

"Vladimir Putin poses an existential threat to the United States," he said. "Putin is more dangerous to us and our allies than radical Islam, and that's saying something."
Although his book does not go into the prophecies of Ezekiel 38 and 39, Rosenberg told CBN News Russia will play a role in the end times.
"The Bible says Russia will become a major evil force in the last days before the return of Christ, that Russia and Iran and Turkey will form an alliance against Israel," he said.  "We're watching Putin build an alliance with those very leaders that the scriptures mention. That doesn't mean that we're necessarily at the point where Gog and Magog, as it's called, is going to happen soon, but I don't know that we can rule it out, either. It's a very dangerous situation."

On the 700 Club Tuesday, Rosenberg reflected on how his own family escaped from Russian Czar Nicholas II and his anti-Semitic pogroms at the start of the 20th Century. He says Russia's current leader is similar, calling him "a czar" and a "mafia crime boss" who threatens the world.
"The challenge is that much of American leadership, and the American people, have been focused on Iran, North Korea, ISIS, al Qaeda – and these are serious threats. But Putin as a threat is rising," Rosenberg said.
"He's invaded the country of Georgia, and he occupies 20 percent of the country still. He invaded southern Ukraine, Crimea, and he annexed it, made it part of Russia. He invaded eastern Ukraine... and he controls it today. He sent military forces into Syria to help Bashar al Assad and the Iranians slaughter hundreds of people and create a foothold for Moscow for the first time in a generation or several generations."
"He is invading one country after another, and you know the saying, 'If you give a mouse a cookie, he'll want a glass of milk. Putin has eaten a whole bag of Oreos, and now he just grabbed the dairy farm and no one is stopping him."
Rosenberg talks about the growing threat from Putin's power grabs, saying Christians need to pray that President Trump finds a strategy to confront Putin to hold him in check.
The Kremlin Conspiracy is available in stores and online beginning March 6.

Dr. M.G. "Pat" Robertson is recovering after sustaining an embolic stroke around 12 p.m. Friday. A family member recognized the onset of symptoms and Dr. Robertson was rushed to the nearest stroke center.
The stroke center consulted with a neurologist/stroke specialist who quickly ordered an MRI to determine the cause of the stroke and the location of the clot. The consulting neurologist and the hospital team administered the clot-busting drug tPA approximately 80 minutes after the onset of symptoms. Within minutes of receiving tPA, Dr. Robertson was awake and responsive and able to move all of his limbs. The neurologist declared the rapid recovery to be a "tPA miracle."
Dr. Robertson is alert, awake and expected to make a full recovery. He should be discharged from the hospital on Monday at the latest.
Dr. Robertson and his family are grateful to the doctors and emergency personnel for their extraordinary care and rapid response.
"We encourage everyone to be aware of the symptoms of stroke and also be aware of the location of the nearest stroke center," said son Gordon Robertson, CEO of The Christian Broadcasting Network.
"Stroke kills over 140,000 people in the USA every year and is the leading cause of serious long-term disability," Robertson continued. "Awareness of the onset of symptoms and then rapid treatment is the key to recovery. We cannot express our thanks enough to the medical team that treated my father."
