Mike Evans Says David Wilkerson’s Prophecy of a ‘Plague Coming to New York’ Is Being Fulfilled Before Our Eyes – Steve Strang

Is David Wilkerson’s Prophecy of a ‘Plague Coming to New York’ Being Fulfilled?

I recently spoke with Mike Evans, who shared a word with me that was absolutely powerful. He says that when he picked up his Bible one day, a handwritten note from the late evangelist David Wilkerson fell out. The message it contained shook Mike to his knees.
The note was from a meeting he had with Wilkerson—or Brother Dave, as Mike calls him—at the Embassy Suites near the Dallas-Fort Worth Airport in 1986. The letter was to Rev. Richard Dortch, who ran PTL under Jim Bakker.
Mike read the letter aloud on my podcast. It said: “Within 12 months from the date of this letter, the judgment of God will fall on PTL. You are fornicating with brick and stone. Flee now and repent. Bats will fly through the empty building.”
Exactly a year later, the Charlotte Observer broke the PTL scandal that involved Jim Bakker. (He has since repented and been restored.)
But that wasn’t the only prophetic word Wilkerson gave. He also said: “I see a plague coming on the world, and the bars and churches and government will shut down. The plague will hit New York City and shake it like it has never been shaken. The plague is going to force prayerless believers into radical prayer and into their Bibles and repentance will be the cry from the man of God in the pulpit. And out of it will come a third Great Awakening that will sweep America and the world.”
You can click here to request to read the full message.
But how could something so terrible lead to an awakening of that magnitude? Mike says this is how God often works. If you look at the first two Great Awakenings, they came around times of hardship.
“The two Great Awakenings that America has [had that shook] the entire nation happened around the time of the American Revolution and the Civil War,” he says. “… The pilgrims came to this country on fire for God, but their children didn’t. Their children became cold in their souls. And America started pushing away. And then all of a sudden, here comes this manifested Great Awakening that shook the nation. And then you had the American Revolution. You had another one, and you had the Civil War. And I thought, Wow[Wilkerson] said there’s going to be a third Great Awakening.”
Could it be that this COVID-19 pandemic we’re experiencing is the trial that will usher in the next Great Awakening?
Mike says for that awakening to happen, God needs to uproot idols from this nation.
“People have taken and allowed things to become their idols; money and materialism has become an idol of their success and the reputation has become an idol,” he says.
Even Trump has become an idol for some Christians, Mike points out. All this must go. God demands our whole hearts and nothing less.
“I think that God is shaking us because He’s taken all of our security away,” he says. “All the things that [made us] comfortable [have] been removed.”
Make sure you listen to my full interview with Mike Evans. What he shares is powerful and, if believers truly listen to his message, I believe we could see another massive awakening in our country. Today, as you celebrate Good Friday, may your heart rid itself of every idol so you can make way for the glories to come.

The Bible says we wrestle not against flesh and blood but against principalities, powers and evil in high places (Eph. 6:12). This verse perfectly describes what is happening in our nation right now. While people fixate on the political battle, they are often oblivious to the spiritual war right in front of them.

Our country is incredibly divided right now because of that war. That division is between good and evil. (I talk more in depth about these issues in my podcast today, which you can listen to by clicking here or clicking on the podcast icon in this article.)

That divide between God's way and the enemy's way seems to be deepening at an accelerated rate. Some people nowadays want to push Judeo-Christian values out of the public sphere entirely. Because of that, Christians have found a new comrade in arms in the Jewish community. For instance, Dennis Prager is a committed Orthodox Jew but also a strong supporter of evangelical Christians. I interviewed Prager for my upcoming book, which is scheduled to release next year.

David Horowitz and Mark Levin are also committed Jews who have a deep respect for Judeo-Christian values. Horowitz wrote a book called The Dark Agenda in which he exposes the left's radical agenda to rid America of Christianity forever. And Levin, a conservative radio personality, often speaks up about the danger we are in as a nation.

But the danger goes deeper than just losing our constitutional rights. Even if that were to happen, the Bible would remain true, and the Christian community would still survive. But we would not have the same freedoms we do now. In fact, we would likely face strong persecution.

Christians received a small taste of that discrimination when the Obama administration tried to punish Hobby Lobby with Obamacare. The government tried to force the Christian company to provide its employees health ... read more

David Barton: Only 2.8% of American Pastors Are Willing to Preach These Biblical Truths

History is not taught in schools as it once was. And when schools do teach history, it's often with a very secular spin. But David Barton, a well-respected Christian historian, has deep insight into the United States' Christian founding that every American needs to know. He says only 2.8% of American pastors are willing to preach biblical truth on political topics, and if God's people won't step up, the trend will only get worse.

I recently interviewed Barton on my "Strang Report" podcast, where he exposes the truth behind America's uniquely Christian founding—and why that matters for us today. Bible-believing colonists once devoted this nation to scriptural principles, but now, many American Christians don't even believe the Bible is true. Click here to listen to that episode, or click on the podcast icon in this article.

"When you look at where we are now, my question is not 'Where has God gone?' But it's 'Where are His people?'" Barton tells me. "I say that for several different reasons. I work closely with George Barna. We just put three massive polls in the field on Christian values and beliefs, and we know that ... 72% of churches and senior pastors do not agree with the Bible and do not agree with its teachings."

The Barna Group conducted that survey among 384,000 churches and senior pastors. That leaves 28% who actually believe the Bible is true and agree with its teachings. Among those 28%, Barton says, 97% say the Bible speaks directly to hot-button political topics today. But those same people said they refused to preach about those issues because they were political.

"That puts us at 2.8% of pastors addressing what the Bible addresses if it's also in the news," Barton says. "Now that's a problem. We also have a problem when only 14% of Christians read the Bible every day. ... And only 9% of Christians have a biblical worldview. ... So we're looking at a nation that doesn't think biblically."

This modern trend of unbiblical thinking stands in stark contrast to ... read more

The Christian Influence on Our Nation's Founding That Liberals Want to Ignore - Steve Strang

The Christian Influence on Our Nation's Founding That Liberals Want to Ignore

As we celebrate the 243rd anniversary of our nation's founding tomorrow, it's important Christians remember the spiritual factors of our heritage. While many secularists and radical liberals would like us to believe that our Founding Fathers were mostly deists and that the U.S. was never "one nation under God," those who know U.S. history realize this simply isn't true. And now, as our Judeo-Christian heritage is under attack, we need to speak up for our God-given rights.

You may remember that I founded Charisma magazine during the beginning of the United States' bicentennial, which the nation celebrated for a whole year leading up to July 4, 1976. In fact, in our very first issue of Charisma, I wrote a story called "The Spiritual Revolution That Shook the American Colonies." (Click here to read that article.)

The article was about the Great Awakening, which occurred in the 1730s and 1840s, and how that directly affected the founding of our nation. (I talk more about this in my podcast, which you can listen to right here or in this article.) One of the most famous preachers during that time was Jonathan Edwards, who is probably best known for his sermon "Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God."

Preachers like Edwards ignited a revival so great that bars and brothels shut down in many cities because scores of people were turning to the Lord. Many would run to the altar in repentance, weeping and wailing over their sin. Some would even fall into trance-like states. In fact, one of the criticisms of the Great Awakening was that it was based in emotionalism. And perhaps some of it was, but I think a great part of it was that people were touched by the Spirit of God at a very deep level.

Although liberals like to gloss over the Great Awakening, historians consider the revival a turning point. As the awakening swept through the colonies, it served to unify the American people, which was a crucial factor to winning the Revolutionary War.

Even Benjamin Franklin—one of the two deists who signed the Declaration of Independence—appreciated George Whitefield's preaching. The two struck up a friendship in Franklin's old age. Many of the other Founding Fathers were trained in seminary, and some—like John Witherspoon, Benjamin Rush and ... read more

Megachurch Pastor: What Every Spirit-Filled Christian Needs to Know About Leaving Legacy - Steve Strang

Megachurch Pastor: What Every Spirit-Filled Christian Needs to Know About Leaving Legacy

Global Pastor Maury Davis (Facebook/Maury Davis Coaching)
The older you get, the more you realize that, at some point, you must leave a legacy. I recently interviewed an expert on this topic, global pastor Maury Davis. His message on legacy is so powerful that organizations all over the U.S. ask him to speak on it. In fact, when I heard him speak on legacy at the National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference, I knew it was a message every believer should hear.

You may remember that I interviewed Davis recently about his powerful testimony. Click hereto read about how God transformed him from a convicted murderer into a megachurch pastor. But Davis wasn't an expert on legacy until God performed a supernatural healing miracle for him and his quickly growing church back in 2013. Click here to listen to my full interview with Davis on legacy, or listen in this article.

When I asked Davis to tell me how that miracle came about, he told me it all started with a stubborn enchilada addiction.

"I was in my doctor's office for my cholesterol medicine, because I have an enchilada addiction," Davis said with a laugh. "So I just take Lipitor for cholesterol because it's easier than eating granola the rest of my life. And the doctor discovered some leukemia in my bloodstream. Our church, [Cornerstone Church in Nashville], was in a $17 million building project—at the very beginning of it. And I realized that if I went to the oncologist and I was diagnosed with cancer, the bank would freak out and maybe shut the project down."

That fear kept Davis from seeing his doctor again for several months. When he finally did, the test was worse than before. This time, the doctor was adamant that Davis should see an oncologist.

"In November of [2013], I went and had Pastor George pray for me—my pastor that led me to the Lord," Davis says. "He was the first person I told... read more

Matt and Laurie Crouch: TBN's Brand-New Show Encourages Women in a Way 'The View' Won't

Victoria Osteen, Laurie Crouch and Christine Caine film a segment for TBN's "Better Together." (Facebook/Better Together TV)
Matt and Laurie Crouch are making some huge changes at TBN—the largest Christian television network in the world—since they took over from Matt's late parents several years ago. Next week TBN launches the first daily TV program made by women for women. I invited the Crouches onto my "Strang Report" podcast to talk about their new endeavor called Better Together that will launch April 22 at 10:30 a.m. PT. From what they told me, this show offers Christian women a type of encouragement and ministry they won't find on any other women's TV programs. (You can listen to the interview here or scroll to the end of the article.)

I've known Matt and Laurie since around the time they got married in 1985. We've traveled the world together and supported each other in ministry for years. So I was excited to interview them about their new, much-needed program.

"We started thinking about how, quite frankly, underserved the female audience is on Christian television," Matt tells me. "We have dynamic people like Joyce Meyer, Beth Moore and others, but as far as having regular programming on our network, Trinity Broadcasting, we wanted to change that. So about a year ago, we started dealing with set people—decorators, producers, all sorts of different people it takes to make a TV program."

Their goal is to create an atmosphere where women can have an authentic conversation about life and faith. Matt and Laurie have noticed throughout the years that whenever they attend a large dinner party, the women invariably congregate toward one end of the table and the men then go to the other end. Matt says that by the time the men sit down, the women are usually deep in conversation, fully engaged with each other. That's the dynamic the Crouches want for their new show.

"We [want to] basically create an atmosphere where women could sit facing each other—in our case that's a circle—and they could have genuine dialog," Matt says.

To do so, the Crouches hide small, high-quality, remote-controlled cameras around the set. They then roll the doors to the set closed so all the women are facing each other without the interruption of cameramen and cue cards. With women like Christine Caine, Victoria Osteen, Lisa Harper, Lisa Bevere, Holly Wagner, DeeDee Freeman, Jen Johnson and others, the conversation is ... read more
