Mike Evans Says David Wilkerson’s Prophecy of a ‘Plague Coming to New York’ Is Being Fulfilled Before Our Eyes – Steve Strang

Mike Evans Says David Wilkerson’s Prophecy of a ‘Plague Coming to New York’ Is Being Fulfilled Before Our Eyes – Steve Strang

Is David Wilkerson’s Prophecy of a ‘Plague Coming to New York’ Being Fulfilled?

I recently spoke with Mike Evans, who shared a word with me that was absolutely powerful. He says that when he picked up his Bible one day, a handwritten note from the late evangelist David Wilkerson fell out. The message it contained shook Mike to his knees.
The note was from a meeting he had with Wilkerson—or Brother Dave, as Mike calls him—at the Embassy Suites near the Dallas-Fort Worth Airport in 1986. The letter was to Rev. Richard Dortch, who ran PTL under Jim Bakker.
Mike read the letter aloud on my podcast. It said: “Within 12 months from the date of this letter, the judgment of God will fall on PTL. You are fornicating with brick and stone. Flee now and repent. Bats will fly through the empty building.”
Exactly a year later, the Charlotte Observer broke the PTL scandal that involved Jim Bakker. (He has since repented and been restored.)
But that wasn’t the only prophetic word Wilkerson gave. He also said: “I see a plague coming on the world, and the bars and churches and government will shut down. The plague will hit New York City and shake it like it has never been shaken. The plague is going to force prayerless believers into radical prayer and into their Bibles and repentance will be the cry from the man of God in the pulpit. And out of it will come a third Great Awakening that will sweep America and the world.”
You can click here to request to read the full message.
But how could something so terrible lead to an awakening of that magnitude? Mike says this is how God often works. If you look at the first two Great Awakenings, they came around times of hardship.
“The two Great Awakenings that America has [had that shook] the entire nation happened around the time of the American Revolution and the Civil War,” he says. “… The pilgrims came to this country on fire for God, but their children didn’t. Their children became cold in their souls. And America started pushing away. And then all of a sudden, here comes this manifested Great Awakening that shook the nation. And then you had the American Revolution. You had another one, and you had the Civil War. And I thought, Wow[Wilkerson] said there’s going to be a third Great Awakening.”
Could it be that this COVID-19 pandemic we’re experiencing is the trial that will usher in the next Great Awakening?
Mike says for that awakening to happen, God needs to uproot idols from this nation.
“People have taken and allowed things to become their idols; money and materialism has become an idol of their success and the reputation has become an idol,” he says.
Even Trump has become an idol for some Christians, Mike points out. All this must go. God demands our whole hearts and nothing less.
“I think that God is shaking us because He’s taken all of our security away,” he says. “All the things that [made us] comfortable [have] been removed.”
Make sure you listen to my full interview with Mike Evans. What he shares is powerful and, if believers truly listen to his message, I believe we could see another massive awakening in our country. Today, as you celebrate Good Friday, may your heart rid itself of every idol so you can make way for the glories to come.

The Surprising Link Between African-Americans and the Great Awakening - EDDIE HYATT CHARISMA NEWS

The Surprising Link Between African-Americans and the Great Awakening

EDDIE HYATT  CHARISMA NEWS
The revivalists of the Great Awakening found an especially receptive audience among the black population of Colonial America. Blacks, both slave and free, resonated with the message of a "new birth" and found many areas of Scripture with which they could identify, such as Israel's time of slavery in Egypt and God's mighty deliverance of them. Through the Awakening, the racial chasm was breached, slaves were humanized and whites were awakened to the evils of slavery. The Great Awakening, indeed, marked the beginning of the end of slavery in America.
George Whitefield Reaches Out to Blacks in His Preaching
George Whitefield preached from the steps of the Philadelphia courthouse to crowds of over 10,000, when the population of the city was only 13,000. In the crowds were numerous blacks who were especially receptive to the evangelical, revival message that he preached. This was borne out by the fact that, after preaching his farewell sermon and retiring to his lodgings, "Near 50 Negroes came to give me thanks for what God had done for their souls." Whitefield considered this an answer to prayer, saying, "I have been much drawn in prayer for them, and have seen them wrought upon by the word preached."

One black woman who was converted under Whitefield's ministry became discouraged and prayed that the Lord would manifest Himself to her. Shortly thereafter both she and Whitefield were in a meeting where a Baptist minister was preaching. Whitefield said that the word came with such power that the woman began to cry out and "could not help praising and blessing God."

When some criticized her for interrupting the preacher, Whitefield came to her defense saying he believed that, in that hour, "the Lord Jesus took a great possession of her soul." He went on to say, "I doubt not, when the poor Negroes are to be called, God will highly favor them, to wipe off their reproach, and show that He is no respecter of persons."
Whitefield exhibited genuine compassion and concern for the blacks in his audiences, and they recognized it. One black woman, after hearing Whitefield preach, stated that he must have been in a trance and insisted that "Jesus Christ must have told him what to speak to the people or else he could not speak as he did."
It is obvious that in these revival meetings blacks and whites were worshiping together. This should not be surprising, for in a genuine spiritual awakening, the Holy Spirit breaks down racial and cultural barriers, and this occurred in the Great Awakening. Mark Noll, professor of church history at Wheaton College, confirms this, saying, "It was under the impulse of the revival that the chasm between white and black cultures was breached."
Whitefield's impact among the black populace of Colonial America is indicated by the moving tribute that a young black woman, Phillis Wheatley, wrote at the time of his death in 1770. Wheatley, who became America's first published black poet, was 17 years old when she wrote the poem about Whitefield.
Wheatley heard Whitefield preach in Boston on more than one occasion and was profoundly impacted by his ministry. The words of her poem express the strains of equality she heard in the gospel he preached. It reads in part.
Thou didst in strains of eloquence refined,/ Inflame the heart and captivate the mind.
The greatest gift that even God can give,/ He freely offered to the numerous throng.
Take him, ye Africans, he longs for you,/ Impartial Savior is his title due.
Wheatley obviously quoted directly from Whitefield's preaching in her poem. Knowing Whitefield's passionate form of preaching, one can picture him crying out to the blacks in his audience, "Take him, ye Africans, he longs for you."
Other Revivalists Target Blacks in Their Outreaches
Further south, Samuel Davies, who was a colleague of Gilbert Tennent, gave special attention to blacks, including slaves, during his time of ministry in Virginia. Davies not only preached to blacks but invited them to share in regular church observances including the Lord's Supper. In 1757, he wrote:
What little success I have lately had, has been chiefly among the extremes of Gentlemen and Negroes. Indeed, God has been remarkably working among the latter. I have baptized 150 adults; and at the last sacramental solemnity, I had the pleasure of seeing the table graced with sixty black faces.
Further north, Gilbert Tennent was delighted that during a preaching tour in Massachusetts, "multitudes were awakened, and several received great consolation, especially among the young people, children, and Negroes." Jonathan Edwards, in his account of the Awakening in his hometown of Northampton, mentions "several Negroes" who appeared to have been truly born again.

Anti-Slavery Sentiments Are Aroused

The revivalists' emphasis on the eternal bliss of those in Christ and the eternal damnation of those outside of Christ had the ironic result of many a converted slave feeling pity for his poor, hell-bound master, and praying for his conversion. Although some of the revivalists have been criticized for not being more outright in their opposition to the institution of slavery, we must remember that they were preoccupied with getting people ready for the next world, not improving their lot in this one. In their thinking, a slave on his way to heaven was far better off than a slavemaster on his way to hell.

Nonetheless, as historian Benjamin Hart has noted, "Among the most ardent opponents of slavery were ministers, particularly the Puritan and revivalist preachers." These "ardent opponents of slavery" included the followers of Jonathan Edwards, who expanded on his idea of the essential dignity of all created beings and applied it to the blacks of Colonial America.

Samuel Hopkins, for example, who had been personally tutored by Edwards, sent a pamphlet to every member of the Continental Congress asking how they could complain about "enslavement" to Great Britain and overlook the enslavement of so many blacks in the colonies. Noll says,

"In this attack on slavery Hopkins was joined by other followers of Edwards, including Levi Hart in Connecticut, Jacob Green in New Jersey and Edwards' own son, Jonathan, Jr., who was also a minister in Connecticut."
 Blacks Join the Patriotic Protests
The Awakening thus led to the humanizing of blacks and an awakening to the evils of slavery. It also led to the emergence of new, black congregations, among those who were enslaved and those who were free. This led to many blacks identifying with the struggle for freedom from Great Britain and becoming part of the patriotic protests, especially in New England.
For example, at the time of the Boston Massacre in April of 1770, a large black man, Crispus Attucks, was one of the leaders in the protests against the occupation of Boston by British troops. An escaped slave who had settled in Boston, he was one of those of those killed that day by British soldiers. A poem written in his honor refers to him as,
"Leader and voice that day;/ the first to defy and the first to die."
The positive ripples from the Awakening also opened the way for blacks to later serve in the Revolutionary War. David Barton has provided documentation showing that numbers of blacks were given honorable discharges and pensions, and some were honored with complete military funerals for their service in the war.
The anti-slavery sentiments unleashed by the Awakening were so strong in the North that when separation with Great Britain came in 1776, several states, including Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Vermont, New Hampshire and New York, immediately took steps to abolish slavery, something they could not do under King George III.

Although there was more resistance in the South, where a monetary motive prevailed, the anti-slavery sentiments released by the Great Awakening flowered into the abolition movement of the next century, which, as Dr. Timothy Smith has shown, had its roots in American revivalism, starting with the First Great Awakening.

Concluding Thought

Yes, the Great Awakening was an important healing balm for race relations in Colonial America, and only another great, national awakening will bring the racial healing that is needed in our land today.

If we knew ahead of time that the Azusa Street Revival (1906) was coming, how would we prepare for it? What about the Welsh Revival, the Jesus People Movement, the Protestant Reformation, or the Great Awakening?
There's been prophecy after prophecy about another great awakening—a billion soul harvest and a third great wave of revival approaching. From my years of studying revival history, there are a few insights I wanted to share that I believe will help us all to position ourselves to catch the next wave and prepare for this incoming move of God.
1. Remain Open
"Steward, embrace and accept the gift God has entrusted you with. I urge you not to sacrifice the gift God has given you or sabotage the calling on your life because you're afraid to shine or you feel inadequate."
It is important to remain open and to realize that revival in our day might look different from what we expect. In the 1970s, many were not prepared for revival to come through the hippies in the Jesus People Movement. In the Azusa Street Revival in 1906, people began to speak in tongues, which was a newer manifestation in their day. Many who led the previous revivals were the first to criticize this new move of God because they didn't understand what was going on.
However, those who remained open and hungry for all God had for them, even if it looked different from what they expected, were able to embrace the new move of God in their day.
We need to be careful not to miss what God is doing because it comes in a different package than what we imagined. I want to encourage you not to throw out the baby with the bath water. Beautiful babies are born with a mess all around them. Don't be afraid of a mess. Keep your eyes on what God is doing, not on the counterfeits or on what He's not doing. If you don't understand what's happening, seek understanding and then yield to the leading of the Holy Spirit even if it feels uncomfortable.
In Matthew 14, Jesus came out to the disciples walking on the lake in the midst of a storm.
Their friend was standing right there in front of them but they mistook Him for a ghost because He came out of context and not how they expected Him to come. Don't let the storms distract you from seeing Jesus.
2. Keep Focused
When you do find Jesus in the midst of the whirlwinds surrounding new moves of God, keep your eyes fixed on Him no matter what's going on around Him. As we stay focused on the one thing, our heart will burn with greater passion and fire for Jesus than ever before (Psalm 27). The origin of the word focus is influenced by the Latin word used for fire. What we focus on shapes our lives and determines who we will become. (Photo via Pixabay)
When we focus on Jesus and on those things He has entrusted us within each season, this will help make us ready. It's also important to make sure we're not holding anything that's not ours to carry this season or else we won't have open arms to receive what God is bringing next. A great and regular prayer you can pray to stay in the fire of His love is, "God, send Your fire in every area of my life and burn away anything that is not of You for this season. Refine and bring to the surface the gold." It's important to steward holiness and a consecrated life because the pure in heart will see God (Matthew 5:8).
3. Stay Full of the Oil
God wants us to stay full of the oil. It's so important that we steward the Secret Place in our hearts and spend time deepening our relationship with Jesus so that when the time comes to enter into greater depths with Him, we are ready (Matthew 25).
We are living wells and it is important to steward, guard, protect, deepen and open that well. Wherever we go, out of our bellies will flow rivers of living water (John 7:37-38).
ElijahList Prophetic Resources
4. Invest in Family
Family houses the revival fire. Relationships are so important, which is why Jesus always referred to God as His Father. There was connection there.
Ministry and fruitfulness flow from intimacy with God and also from a place of being knit together with the family of God. When not just one person seeks first the Kingdom of God, but a community does this together, it expands our capacity to carry what God wants to release. Seeking Him first in and with family will take you places you could never go on your own, beyond your wildest dreams.
5. Choose Love
"We need to be careful not to miss what God is doing because it comes in a different package than what we imagined."
Carrie Judd Montgomery (1858-1946), a healing revivalist who founded some of the earliest healing homes in the nation including the Home of Peace in Oakland, CA (still there to this day), chose to embrace the new experience of speaking in tongues many associated with Baptism of the Holy Spirit during the Azusa Street Revival. She, in fact, encouraged her friends to have this same experience. When her friend, founder of Christian and Missionary Alliance, A.B. Simpson, did not speak in tongues like all of her new Pentecostal friends, she didn't cut him off or think of him as lesser. She maintained and continued to grow in friendship with him because she valued relationships more than debates about non-essentials. We can learn from her example to choose relationships over and above denominational ties and differences in manifestations. Love is the key (1 Corinthians 13).
Don't Be Afraid to Shine
I don't believe in a nameless faceless revival. While we want Jesus to be the name above all other names and for everyone to participate, God will appoint and anoint leaders to help lead this generation into the more. There was a Moses, a Joshua, a David, an Evan Roberts, a William J. Seymour and other leaders who played a significant part in partnering with God to lead their generation into all that He had for them.
I am saying this to encourage myself just as much as I am exhorting you. Don't be afraid to shine, to lead and to be a voice. If God has anointed you as a leader, then LEAD! If people are following you then you know you're a leader whether you want to admit it or not. Don't hesitate to step into the fullness of leadership God has called you to walk in out of fear that you will become prideful or steal God's glory. Trust in Him and trust yourself.
If God has appointed and anointed you, He will walk with you through the favor. True leaders are servants and walk in great humility. The more you are honored, the more crowns you will have to throw at the feet of Jesus. If your influence grows, what an incredible opportunity to use that influence to impact even more people for JESUS! (Photo via Pixabay)
Steward, embrace and accept the gift God has entrusted you with. I urge you not to sacrifice the gift God has given you or sabotage the calling on your life because you're afraid to shine or you feel inadequate. Don't lay down the gift that He gave you to use and steward for His glory. He has given you your unique gifts to serve your generation in humility and love. Embrace the gifts He's given you so that you can become all He's destined you to become and to lift His name higher.
I bless you to step into your rightful position in this generation and to lead with great love and humility, fixing your eyes upon Jesus always, and step out in great faith as the Spirit leads you. And finally, I exhort you by the power and the Blood of Jesus to rise up. This generation needs you to be all who you are called to be. Today may you:
"Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you. See, darkness covers the earth and thick darkness is over the peoples, but the Lord rises upon you and His glory appears over you..." (Isaiah 60:1-2) (To Subscribe to the Elijah List subscribe here.)

This Is the Tipping Point for the Next Great Awakening - JENNIFER A. MISKOV CHARISMA NEWS

On April 9, 2016, which was also the 110th anniversary of the Azusa Street Revival, our generation was inaugurated into a new era. Lou Engle and TheCall, in partnership with Bethel Church in Redding, California, hosted over 65,000 people in an event called Azusa Now.

This Is the Tipping Point for the Next Great Awakening

Can thousands of people gathered together for one purpose shift a generation into the next Great Awakening? What if the date and location of this gathering tapped into one of the deepest wells of revival we've experienced over the last century?
On April 9, 2016, which was also the 110th anniversary of the Azusa Street Revival, our generation was inaugurated into a new era. Lou Engle and TheCall, in partnership with Bethel Church in Redding, California, hosted over 65,000 people in an event called Azusa Now. People from all around the world gathered together in the rain at the Los Angeles Coliseum to make the name of Jesus famous once again. The day was filled with worship, prayer, healing, miracles, prophetic acts, and signs and wonders. During the week preceding this event, Bethel School of Supernatural Ministry, Circuit Riders, Youth With A Mission, Iris Global, and many other ministries sent out armies of Jesus lovers to flood L.A. with the love and power of God. Deaf ears were opened, people got up out of wheelchairs, many were welcomed into the family of God, and signs and wonders were released.
Because of the prophetic words and impossibilities connected to the Azusa Now story, it is important to pay attention. This was not just another Christian worship event. Deep wells of the Azusa Street Revival, which birthed over half a billion Christians and has spread to nearly every country in the world over the past century, were accessed on Saturday. At Azusa Now, many different streams of Christianity came together in unity for one purpose. Profound reconciliation occurred. Worship filled the stadium. Ripple effects that will impact the world and eternity will result from what was poured out at Azusa Now.
We Walk by Faith Not Sight
Something powerful and profound happened at Azusa Now whether we see and understand it now or not. Many stepped out in great faith to see God's kingdom come to this generation. If all of this was done and only one person got saved or healed, it would have been worth it. However, we know that many entered into God's kingdom and many others were restored, healed, and set free that day. We don't know how many lives these ones will touch in the future but these will be the inheritance of what was poured out at Azusa Now.
In the evening session at Azusa Now, evangelist Daniel Kolenda shared how God marked him at TheCall D.C. over ten years ago. He was impregnated with a hunger and passion to see souls saved. He has since brought thousands into the kingdom of God. The impact of what was released when he attended TheCall D.C. might not have become visible the next week or even the next year, but something significant happened that later contributed to the momentum of hundreds of thousands being led to the Lord. Whether we see profound results today or in the next ten years from what happened at Azusa Now, we said yes to what God asked of us. That is something to celebrate. We need to trust Him with the results as we continue to dive even deeper into His presence.
Healing on the Streets
When I was doing my Ph.D. on revival history while living in England, I helped my church set up Healing on the Streets in the city square where many youth gathered. We set up chairs in the middle of the square and put up a flag that said Healing. Anyone walking by who wanted prayer would sit in a chair and we would pray for him or her right out in the open. We did this every month and saw many miracles take place: legs grew, depression lifted, cigarettes disappeared, and people even grew taller. However, there's one story I want to share that will help demonstrate the unseen impact Azusa Now will have in the future.
One time when we were out on the streets, we met a teenager named Ben. He had been hit by a car and his leg was in a cast. He was a rough looking kid but had allowed us to pray for him. As our team laid hands and prayed for him in the middle of the town square, the presence of God fell on him powerfully. However, when he left, he hobbled away, still on crutches with no visible sign of healing. Did we fail? Did we not have enough faith to bring him into his healing? I think not. I believe that every Holy Spirit-led act of faith is something to celebrate. Our job is to obey God. He is in charge of the results.
The next month we went back to the same spot and saw Ben running out to greet us. He shared how a week after we prayed, he was totally healed and even went out jogging!!! We hadn't seen the effects in the moment we prayed, but God was working behind the scenes. Furthermore, one year after Ben got healed, we were all drinking coffee in a Starbucks and sharing testimonies after our ministry time on the streets. I noticed the Holy Spirit was doing something in Ben so I asked him what was going on. His grandmother had just passed away and he heard her favorite song come on which made him emotional. We prayed for him right there in the Starbucks and he began to weep. Then he said to me, "Jen, I never told you this before but a year ago when you all prayed for me, I had so much anger and rage inside of me that I was going to beat someone up that day. After you all prayed for me, that anger left and I have never been the same." We found this out one year later!
We don't always know or see the results of stepping out in faith, worshipping in unity, or doing prophetic acts led by the Spirit, however, in due time, these will surface. Azusa Now may or may not have been what we all imagined. We may have seen incredible miracles and salvations or we may not have seen what we were hoping for. However, something powerful was released either way that will impact generations. We must be content knowing that heaven is celebrating us each and every time we step out in faith to follow the leading of the Spirit. Yes, many people got saved, healed, and delivered which is incredible. However, Azusa Now was just the beginning of more to come.
The Rudder of Our Ship Has Shifted
The prophetic act of thousands of people worshipping together in one place, in one city, and on the anniversary of the Azusa Street Revival synergized and shifted us into a new era. What we did that day is like shifting the direction of a rudder on a large ship. Our generation may or may not recognize the radical change and the momentum that will carry on for generations from now from what was released at Azusa Now. However, even the slightest of changes on a rudder will redirect the course of that ship. Over time, that ship will arrive at a completely different destination.
We are now going in a new direction, even if ever so slightly. This change will take us to a greater reality than any could ever have hoped, dreamed, or imagined. The New Jesus Revolution has already begun. Sometimes this happens in the smallest of ways. Never underestimate the power of Jesus working even in one small shift, one great decision made, or one person saved. Remember and record what happened in your life on Saturday April 9, 2016 and celebrate each seed of hope that was released. This is only the beginning. These seeds will one day grow and emerge into giants as they are saturated by more of the Holy Spirit.
I close by quoting a song by Bob Dylan. I encourage you to imagine God singing it over you and our generation:
"The storms are raging on the rolling seas
And on the highway of regret
The winds of change are blowing wild and free
You ain't seen nothing like Me yet
I could make you happy, make your dreams come true
Nothing that I wouldn't do
Go to the ends of the earth for you
To make you feel My love"
God has already gone to the ends of the earth to make you feel His love when He sent His Son Jesus. I pray that in this new era, your eyes are opened more than ever before to see and to receive a fresh revelation of the Father's great love. I pray that you become a target for His blessing, favor, and presence. May your heart increase in capacity to be able to receive the great love God is pouring out and to overflow it to others. May you be apprehended by God's extravagant and unceasing love like never before. Hang on tight, we're in for the wildest ride of our lives!

Are We About to See Another Great Recession or a Great Awakening? - TROY ANDERSON CHARISMA NEWS

Are We About to See Another Great Recession or a Great Awakening?

Join us on our podcast each weekday for an interesting story, well told, from Charisma News. Listen at charismapodcastnetwork.com.

As the same economic patterns that preceded the 2008 financial crash repeat, Michael Snyder, founder of The Economic Collapse Blog, is urging people to get ready for another recession or worse.
"I believe that some very troubling times in terms of the U.S. are coming and eventually that we're headed into the hardest economic times as a country we've ever seen," Snyder told Dr. Steve Greene, the publisher and executive vice president of Charisma Media and host of the Charisma Podcast Network's "Charisma Connection" program on Thursday.
"But on the other hand, I believe we're going to see a great move of God—the greatest harvest of souls we've ever seen. I believe the finest hour of the church is ahead of us and there are going to be great opportunities to do amazing things for the kingdom moving forward."
Snyder, who founded the popular blog in 2009 that now has more than 1 million readers, says the world is witnessing the same economic warning signs that preceded the last financial crisis in 2008.
"One thing I've been stressing with my readers lately is that we've been seeing so many of the patterns we witnessed just before the financial crash of 2008," Snyder says. "They are happening again right in front of our eyes."
Snyder, who goes into greater depth about these indicators at theeconomiccollapseblog.com and endoftheamericandream.com, says some of these signs include the recent crash in junk bonds, the drop in the price of oil and the decline in the price of commodities.
Junk bonds, or high yield bonds, consist of companies that are "a little more risky," Snyder says. Many of these are energy companies that have experienced financial difficulties as the price of oil has dropped.
"Some of these energy companies have gotten into trouble because the price of oil has dropped, which is another indicator of trouble coming," Snyder says. "These junk bonds are starting to crash. That's a huge red flag for me and an indication that we have trouble on the horizon."
In the last global recession, the price of oil dropped from about $140 a barrel to below $40 a barrel. The same thing is occurring now. The price of oil recently dropped below $38 a barrel. Also, the price of commodities has fallen dramatically to a 16-year low.
If these indicators are signs that the economy is headed for another recession and ultimately an economic collapse, Snyder says he expects the unemployment rate to increase significantly. Currently, the nation's official unemployment rate is 5.5 percent, but Snyder says the real unemployment rate—taking into account large numbers of people who have quit looking for work—is 22 percent.
"So just like in 2008 in the initial stages of the recession, I believe we are going to see the unemployment rate go up dramatically," says Snyder, author of Get Prepared Now. "Because most Americans are living paycheck to paycheck, about 62 percent of all Americans, one survey found, then people all of a sudden won't be able to pay the mortgage. Just like last time, we are going to see so many people go from a middle-class lifestyle to out on the streets very rapidly."
To prepare for what he believes is coming, Snyder says people should create a six-month emergency fund to help pay the bills in the event of a financial crisis.
"I believe the crisis we are moving into is already starting to roll out in so many ways, but people need to do the best they can with what they have and leave the rest to God," Snyder says. "Now is not a good time to buy a whole lot of toys for Christmas and to go into debt, but to be smart. The Word of God tells us that the wise man sees trouble coming and prepares."
Snyder also encourages people to store up food, water and supplies and buy precious metals, especially silver coins.
"Silver has been trading around $14 an ounce now, which is ridiculously undervalued," Snyder says. "In the mid to long term, it's a way to protect your wealth when currencies are going to be in flux and ultimately the U.S. dollar is going to be in trouble."
As far as investments, Snyder encourages people to be broadly diversified.
"On the one hand, I do have warnings, I do have tough things to talk about, but on the other hand, I have a real message of inspiration and hope," Snyder says. "I'm encouraging people that you were born for such a time as this, and it's when times are the darkest that the greatest heroes are needed.
"In fact, when you look back through history, when have the people that we really admire—the great heroes and great leaders—arisen? It was during times that were the darkest—during times of great crisis, during war and during tough times. I would encourage people to think about what their God-given destiny is as we move forward into what will be challenging times, but also great times."

"An Invitation to Consecration – As We Stand at the Precipice of a Great New Move" Dutch Sheets

We stand at the precipice of a great new move of God. Many of us in the Body of Christ sense that the Lord is preparing to do a great work of restoration in America, leading up to the next Great Awakening.
If you have been following my ministry, you know that the resurgence of the historic Appeal To Heaven flag is a key part of this awakening. For the purpose of gathering Believers under its message, launching us into a prayer movement that will pave the way for this next great move of God, I am scheduling Appeal To Heaven Conferences in key cities nationwide.
The first of which will be held in Middletown, Ohio, in just a few weeks (see itinerary below). As we approach this significant gathering, I have been pondering what the Lord has spoken to me about how we are to prepare for the release of His river of revival.
In the third chapter of the Book of Joel, the Lord tells Israel of a coming great season of restoration. This Scripture also serves as a dual prophecy of what God will do later at the outpouring of His Spirit at Pentecost, and again, at the end of the age.
Preceding this prophecy, in Joel 2:15-17, and each time God desired to release a mighty move of His Spirit among His people, Israel, He spoke to their leadership, giving them this one same instruction: "Consecrate yourselves."
In Hezekiah's day, prior to Israel's restoration of temple worship, "consecrate" or "sanctify yourselves" is once again given as a directive from the Lord (2 Chronicles 29:5). When King Josiah led the nation in several reforms, allowing God to reestablish His presence there, these words were also spoken (2 Chronicles 35:6).
And in Joshua's day, before crossing the Jordan River and moving into their inheritance, God said to the people, "Consecrate yourselves, for tomorrow the Lord will do wonders among you" (Joshua 3:5). I believe God is saying this to American Believers today.
Draw Near to God
We hear of the concept of "consecration" periodically, but we often have a vague understanding of what it really means. The word consecrate, in Hebrew, is actually a relational term. Qadash means to separate or set yourself apartunto God. God's heart isn't, "Clean up your act so I can restore and bless you." He says instead, "Come to Me so I can bless you." BIG DIFFERENCE! His love is free, not earned.
It may even surprise you that qadash (set apart to Him), is actually the root word for holy (qodesh). Not to confuse you with a bunch of strange words, but isn't it great to know that being "holy" isn't the result of ordefined as "being good enough?" (Photo by Jennifer Page "Redeemed" via elijahshopper.com)
Rather it is the nature (qodesh) we receive from our union with Him (qadash), whichmotivates us to good works and a refusal to sin. We must be careful, then, that when we set out to prepare ourselves for a move of God's Spirit, we do not move into a legalistic works mentality, trying to accomplish separation and holiness in our own abilities; rather, we draw near to God in relationship.
There is another word in Scripture that also means separation, which we often confuse with consecration and holiness. Nazir, from which we get the word Nazarite, means to be separate fromNazir implies that we are separating ourselves away from something, as in sin, or the Nazarite vow of separation from certain activities. Qadash implies that we are separating ourselves unto, or drawing near to God. And this is where we must always start in our walk with Him.

Samson was a Nazarite and lived a life separated from certain things. There is never any indication in Scripture, however, that he was separated unto, or walking closely with God. When Delilah entered the picture, since Samson was attempting holiness in his own strength, not by drawing near to the Lord, He did not have the strength to resist temptation.
The Lord desires to raise up men and women of prayer and radical devotion through which He can release a greater Great Awakening and shift the course of nations today.
To be a part of this, however, we must be willing to comply with what God requires of us: Prepare ourselves through drawing near.
A Season of Separation
The Lord is inviting you to enter into a season where you separate yourself unto Him in an extra special way. Take time to inquire of the Lord as to what this means for you. I am certain things will shift if you increase your devotion time from 15 to 30 minutes each day. Doors will open if you fast one lunch per week to spend that time with the Lord. You will experience breakthrough if you put on some worship music and commune with the Lord as you go about your daily chores. For 15 minutes a day, invite Him to walk with you around your backyard or sit beside you on your porch.
If you rearrange your busy schedule over the next few weeks to pray and fast and spend more time in worship and the Word, your life will radically change. No matter what level of relationship you currently enjoy with the Lord, He wants to transform you into a more passionate and zealous Believer.
As you draw into His depths, His cleansing stream will prepare you for His rivers of revival. (Photo by Jennifer Page "Selah" via elijahshopper.com)
If you will be participating in the upcomingAppeal To Heaven Conference, do this before you come. I urge you, please, do not take this gathering lightly. I hear the Lord calling us to a Joel 2 time of consecration so that He can accomplish His purposes for our upcoming convocation.
"Consecrate yourselves, for tomorrow the Lord will do wonders among you!"
