“As For Me and My House" - Now Think On This by Steve Martin

“As For Me and My House"

"Now, therefore, fear the Lord and serve Him in sincerity and truth; and put away the gods which your fathers served beyond the River and in Egypt, and serve the Lord. "If it is disagreeable in your sight to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves today whom you will serve: whether the gods which your fathers served which were beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you are living; but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord." (Joshua 24:14-15, NASU)

As I have walked around the city of Charlotte, North Carolina this month, it is prevalent all over – in public shopping centers, movie theatres, on social media and local news. The word “pride” is being pushed in our faces and celebrated as the new accepted way of life.

The biblical and historical symbol of the rainbow, historically given by the Living God as a promise to Noah and all mankind since, to never destroy the earth again by water, is being lifted up as the new symbol of “freedom”.

Let it be known loud and clear, that “As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” He, Jesus Christ, Yeshua HaMashiach, is the only Way, the only Truth, the only Life. We will not be deceived and fall to the agenda of others.

If I don’t stand against the lies and deception, my grandkids won’t know the Truth. Therefore, I will, and am, standing in the face of this onslaught.

As is also popularly said in sports venue around the country, when the other team comes into town wanting to claim the victory, “NOT IN MY HOUSE!”

“The wisdom of the sensible is to understand his way, But the foolishness of fools is deceit. Fools mock at sin, but among the upright there is good will. The heart knows its own bitterness, and a stranger does not share its joy.
The house of the wicked will be destroyed, but the tent of the upright will flourish. There is a way which seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death.
Even in laughter the heart may be in pain, and the end of joy may be grief.
The backslider in heart will have his fill of his own ways, but a good man will be satisfied with his. The naive believes everything, but the sensible man considers his steps.
A wise man is cautious and turns away from evil, but a fool is arrogant and careless. A quick-tempered man acts foolishly, and a man of evil devices is hated.
The naive inherit foolishness, but the sensible are crowned with knowledge. The evil will bow down before the good, and the wicked at the gates of the righteous.” (Proverbs 14:18-19, NASU)
The evil and wicked acts of men and women who seek to parade and flaunt their “freedom” in our streets will not prevail. This country was founded on Judeo-Christian principles, and on those we will stand. Not on the false agenda of the few who seek to destroy our biblical way of life.
Politicians, teachers, even so-called “pastors” who spread non-biblical words of death will be held accountable for their actions.

There is a God. He rules in the heavens, and on earth.
No one will cast aside His rule and authority without paying the eternal price.
As for me and my house, WE will serve the Living God. We will not fall to the lies and deception of those who lift up and push in our face another god.

“The Lord is near to all who call upon Him,
To all who call upon Him in truth.
He will fulfill the desire of those who fear Him;
He will also hear their cry and will save them.
The Lord keeps all who love Him,
But all the wicked He will destroy.
My mouth will speak the praise of the Lord,
And all flesh will bless His holy name forever and ever.”
Psalm 145:18-21, NASU

Love or War? Now Think On This by Steve Martin

Love or War?

A wise man is strong, and a man of knowledge increases power. For by wise guidance you will wage war, and in abundance of counselors there is victory. (Proverbs 24:5-6, NASU)

A well-known and highly respected prophetic teacher, Rick Joyner of Morningstar Ministries, said a few years ago something to the effect that we will be people of war. At the time I didn’t want to hear that. We are called to be people of love, right? Love is all you need, yes?

It had long been a conflict within me as to what is the correct Christian’s response to the evil that continually rises up around us, whether it be on social media, the national news broadcasts, the “higher learning” of our educational system, and even within the entertainment sectors of our society that preach, yes preach, their ideology of secularism, anti-family, and anti-Semitism on the big screen and the little ones most people carry in their pockets. It even shows up in the so-called “Disney-style” family movies, which more and more are just the outreach tool used by proponents of witchcraft and “other lifestyle” propaganda.

So, do we just let these self-expansions of the “we will love you the way you are” attitude continue, and let all things around and abound as “whatever will be will be”? Or do we stand on biblical principles and fight back? And if so, how do we fight back?

Do we love and not make war? Or do we love, and yet at the same time make war.

Throughout Scripture our God shows His hand in how He deals with those who embrace evil and reject His rule and principles.

He clearly speaks His Word, even to His own chosen people, when they failed to follow His commands. It reads in Psalm 106:34-39, “They did not destroy the peoples, as the Lord commanded them, but they mingled with the nations and learned their practices, and served their idols, which became a snare to them.

They even sacrificed their sons and their daughters to the demons (i.e. abortion and infanticide – added), and shed innocent blood, the blood of their sons and their daughters, whom they sacrificed to the idols of Canaan; and the land was polluted with the blood.

Thus, they became unclean in their practices, and played the harlot in their deeds.” (NASU)

Often, when a people or nation turn from the ways of the Living God, He removes them. Usually, that is accomplished by war or natural destruction. (And it isn’t “Mother Nature” at work, but the God of all creation.)

Jesus, the God of Love, Himself said this, as recorded in Luke 12:49-53, "I have come to cast fire upon the earth; and how I wish it were already kindled!  But I have a baptism to undergo, and how distressed I am until it is accomplished!  Do you suppose that I came to grant peace on earth? I tell you, no, but rather division; for from now on five members in one household will be divided, three against two and two against three. They will be divided, father against son and son against father, mother against daughter and daughter against mother, mother-in-law against daughter-in-law and daughter-in-law against mother-in-law." (NASU)

If the God of Love Himself came as the Son of Man to bring division, to divide the right from the wrong, should we just sit idly by and let the wrong become as the “new right”?

I don’t think so.

In my theology, which comes from the Word of God, on which I will continually stand, I will constantly believe both the Old and New Testaments (as Christians call these Scriptures.) I will do as Joshua proclaimed he would do.

I am not going to keep silent and let anyone else tell me what gender my kids are, nor my grandkids; nor will I shut my mouth, and keep from writing these messages and stop sharing the Gospel truth because they just might offend or step on another’s toes; or out of threatened retaliation, fear or false love.

Powerful prayer will protect our homes, while at the same time tear down strongholds that have been allowed to build up around us, due to our own laziness, self-interest and lackadaisical attitudes adapted in decades gone by. Action in the prayer closet while taking action on the front lines - we must be doing both.

After putting on the full armor of God, both to defend the onslaught against us, and to go on the offensive to be overcomers as we are called to be, we must battle and take back the land stolen from us.

Don’t allow the enemy of our spirit, soul, and body continue to steal, destroy and kill that which we have held dear to our lives. We must stand strong, fight the good fight, and be on the offensive. We must speak the Truth louder, write the messages stronger, and live our lives with His God-given gifts and inspiration to proclaim His principles and reclaim this land, our cities, and this nation.

The enemy isn’t quitting or just lie down. The one who hates us is not going to play fair, nor give up. If we continue to sit back and do nothing, we will lose that which others have lived and died for.
Jesus died for us. Others have followed in His footsteps, because of their faith and commitment to Him and His purposes. We very well may be called upon to do the same.

I have already made the decision that I will do just that. I will love, but I will also make war.

Now think of this,

US 4 and No More - Now Think On This message by Steve Martin, Love For His People

Jan. 16, 2019

It's a new year, a new month (and already half gone!) and a new time. Hopefully, all have begun with new resolve in our hearts.

I began the season not with new resolutions, which I rarely ever do, but with a strong desire to keep moving in the direction the Lord has been leading. Though in some ways it has been like one has just completed a walk through dense fog, with the previous busy month of holidays just ending, but now clarity continues to come.

And thus I was inspired by the Holy Spirit to share this word, hoping it too will encourage you also to keep going forward With Even More ResolveRead it through.

In addition to that word, I want to encourage you to carry on in the disciplines the Lord has spoken to us and even gave His Son Jesus as our example during His time on this planet. Us 4 and No More reminds us to keep doing so we can keep going.

Knowing our Lord is coming sooner than we think - maintaining, and then pressing on - is vital for us to be strengthened in our purpose, calling, and the mission He has given to each.

Be blessed even as you do so, with ahava (love) and shalom (peace),

Steve Martin

P.S. As Founder/President of Love For His People, I completed our annual report on the year ending 2018. I rejoice at how many are interested in reading it, seeing how the Lord enables and always provides, as we are faithful with what we have been given.

We are very transparent in how the finances are received and given out. Most people want to know that, so they have trust as they give. See what we have done with His provision and empowerment to bless Israel and His people in the nations.

“For the Lord God helps Me, therefore, I am not disgraced; therefore, I have set My face like flint, and I know that I will not be ashamed.” (Isaiah 50:7, NASU)

The Webster dictionary gives these synonyms for the word RESOLVE, when used as a noun - decidedness, decisiondecisivenessdeterminationdeterminednessfirmness, granite, purposefulnessresolutenessresolutionstick-to-itiveness.

Resolve - something we must have in these days. Resolve - even more so must we possess in the days and years to come.

As our ultimate example and the One we are commanded to follow, Jesus knew He had come for a distinct purpose and was determined to complete the mission, at all costs. When the time came for Him to move on it, He did not flinch, back down, or seek an escape route out of there. He had the resolve, the firmness, the determination to do what it took to get the job done.

As the apostle Luke records in chapter 9:51, “When the days were approaching for His ascension, He was determined to go to Jerusalem;” (NASU) Or as the NKJV translates it, “Now it came to pass, when the time had come for Him to be received up, that He steadfastly set His face to go to Jerusalem.”

Isaiah did rightly prophesy about the Messiah Yeshua as written above, “I have set My face like flint.” That is exactly what He did.

To put this in full context, one must read the other verses that come before and go beyond that verse. It gives a wider picture of what He was committed to do.

"The Lord God has given Me the tongue of the learned, that I should know how to speak a word in season to him who is weary. He awakens Me morning by morning; He awakens My ear to hear as the learned. The Lord God has opened My ear; and I was not rebellious, nor did I turn away. I gave My back to those who struck Me, and My cheeks to those who plucked out the beard; I did not hide My face from shame and spitting.

For the Lord God will help Me; therefore, I will not be disgraced; therefore, I have set My face like a flint, and I know that I will not be ashamed. He is near who justifies Me; who will contend with Me? Let us stand together. Who is My adversary? Let him come near Me. Surely the Lord God will help Me; Who is he who will condemn Me? Indeed, they will all grow old like a garment; the moth will eat them up."

As any toughened combat soldier, long before prepared to engage in battle; or the proven athlete, measured and strengthened through years of practice for his competitive field; or the years of perfected, intense time given the trained surgeon, now performing through the grueling hours in the operating room – these similar years of ourselves being trained, groomed, and prepared for this hour must show itself strong as we stand courageously and boldly in these days of increasing pressure to bow down and give up.

Those who stand with Israel, and particularly Jerusalem, will receive the promised blessings given to those who do so. The ones who oppose the purposes of God for this people and land will receive the eternal judgment He also promises He will hand out.

Sharing this book, containing some of my experiences in Jerusalem, is a joy, and also a promise to always stand with Israel.

You can get it in paperback or Kindle.
