"I cannot pray to the God of Islam anymore - I've been born again!" - ONE FOR ISRAEL

Dr Erez Soref President of  ONE FOR ISRAEL
Shalom!

The gospel message is now reaching thousands in Gaza, and many are hearing the truth about the Messiah. Some are responding with great interest, and so far, we have seen three people come to faith. Their stories are remarkable, testifying to their great courage, the power of the gospel and the redeeming power of our merciful God.

A man called Jihad started to correspond with one of our staff members here at ONE FOR ISRAEL (Carlos), after watching some of his evangelistic videos in Arabic.

Jihad quickly came to put his faith in Yeshua, and was born again in a powerful and meaningful way. His thirst for the truth and the scriptures seems to be insatiable, and since he knows a lot about Islamic writings and Sharia, he has already got to work, noting all the contradictions and lies that are leading so many astray. He longs to help as many as possible find the truth that has set him free.

He lost his job recently, and had to move his family to a poorer area within Gaza where the control over the people is even more extreme. Every Friday morning, people bang on the doors at 5:00 am to wake everyone up, and insist that the men of the house attend the mosque. They are effectively goose-marched to the mosque, and forced into the building. Jihad told Carlos,

"I was forced into the mosque, but I cannot pray to the God of Islam anymore, so I just go in the front door, leave by the back door, and go home again!"

Of course, if he was found to be avoiding worshiping in the mosque, he could be killed. But Jihad says now that he has been born again, he simply cannot do it.

Jihad's wife is also opening up more and more to the gospel, and another man who is a singer has come to faith in the last month or so. Like Jihad, he is also eager to start serving God in the best way that he can, and is now wanting to record worship songs to Yeshua in Arabic.

Praise God for these people, and others, who are coming into the kingdom at this time in Gaza! Their courage is truly inspiring, but as they told Carlos, they used to be willing to die for their Muslim faith, so now that they have found the truth, they are all the more ready to lay down their lives for the One True God who loves them and saved them through Yeshua the Messiah.

Solar Eclipse - A Sign And A Wonder

It seems a truly remarkable "coincidence" that despite the sun being 400 times larger than the moon, they appear to be EXACTLY the same size from this planet - but only from this planet, rather interestingly. Almost as if it was designed that way, as a phenomenon to be seen and enjoyed from earth. And that is because it was designed by God for our benefit, not only for our sense of wonderment, but also as a sign. A clue about this is found in some words appearing in the first chapter of Genesis. Continue reading...

Turning Up Treasures In The Disciples' Hometown, Bethsaida
As odd as it might seem, archaeologists have not been able to positively identify Bethsaida, home to Yeshua's disciples, Peter, Andrew and Philip, until just now! There have been educated guesses about the location but nothing that fitted the biblical description of a sizable and important city. It's been a bit of a mystery. However, new excavations at the site of el Araj seem to be revealing the remains of a significant metropolis, which Bethsaida once had been. Continue reading...

Israel Wants to Muffle Muslim Call to Prayer - Israel Today

Israel Wants to Muffle Muslim Call to Prayer

Monday, November 14, 2016 |  Israel Today Staff
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s cabinet on Sunday approved a proposed bill that would put an end Muslim calls to prayer being blasted over loudspeakers across Israel.
Known as the muezzin, this mosque official is supposed to call the faithful to prayer from a mosque’s minaret five times every day. Modern mosques, like those found in most cities in Israel, amplify that call using multiple loudspeakers.
The so-called “muezzin bill” is aimed at protecting the rights of those Israelis, most non-Muslims, who don’t want such Islamic practices imposed upon their lives.
“The bill comes from a view that freedom of religion should not harm quality of life,” the bill’s creator, Member of Knesset Moti Yogev (Jewish Home), was quoted as saying by The Jerusalem Post.
Netanyahu offered his backing, noting that “Israel is committed to freedom for all religions, but is also responsible for protecting its citizens from noise. That’s how it is in cities in Europe. I support similar legislation and enforcement in Israel.”
The bill has received the approval of the Ministerial Committee for Legislation and must now be submitted for voting in the Knesset plenum.
As expected, Arab Muslim politicians slammed the bill as “racist.”
“Its whole goal is to create an atmosphere of hatred and incitement towards the Arab public,” insisted Joint Arab List party head Ayman Odeh.
But most Israelis would argue that it is in fact “racist” and hostile to impose religious practices upon those who are not members of your own religion.
Odeh and other critics also ignored the fact that the new bill does not prohibit the call of the muezzin, just the use of loudspeakers to amplify that call and thereby disturb the peace.
Palestinian Authority leader Mahmoud Abbas threatened that if signed into law, the measure would “drag the region to disaster.”

Muslim Inscription Acknowledges Jewish Temple - Aviel Schneider ISRAEL TODAY

Muslim Inscription Acknowledges Jewish Temple

Tuesday, November 01, 2016 |  Aviel Schneider  ISRAEL TODAY
An inscription from the early Islamic period has been added to the pile of evidence attesting to a long Jewish connection to Jerusalem’s Temple Mount, contrary to recent decisions taken by the United Nations.
The inscription, which was found during the excavation of a mosque in the Palestinian village of Nuba near Hebron, refers to what is now called the Dome of the Rock as “Bait al-Maqdess,” the Arabic version of “Beit Hamikdah,” which is Hebrew for the Temple.
According to Israeli archaeologists Asaf Avraham and Peretz Reuven, the unique inscription dates to the 10th century, and further confirms that for centuries after the Islamic conquest, Muslims continued to link Jerusalem’s Temple Mount to the Jewish Temple of the Bible. Numerous Islamic sources from the time attest to this.
Avraham and Reuven noted in a press conference last Thursday that early Islam drew much from Judaism, leading to the building of the Dome of the Rock where the Temple previously stood.
“At the start of the Muslim period, religious rites were held inside the Dome of the Rock compound that imitated the ceremonies conducted in the Jewish Temple,” Avraham explained.
In more recent years, Arab Muslim leaders in Israel and abroad have vociferously denied any historical connection between the Jews and the Temple Mount, even in the face of their own religion’s documentation.
It has been frustrating for Israel to see the “Christian” West join in this fiasco, but despite attempts to rewrite history, the truth will always be revealed.

Obama Picks Mosque With Radical Islamic Ties for First US Visit

“When the righteous are increased, the people rejoice; but when the wicked beareth rule, the people sigh.” (Proverbs 29:2)
In his first official visit to a US mosque on Wednesday, President Barack Obama is set to appear at an institution whose leaders have a record of support for radical Islamic causes, reports The Investigative Project on Terrorism. The Islamic Society of Baltimore (ISB), Obama’s mosque of choice, has a history of imams and scholars who have endorsed jihad, suicide bombings, and terror financing.
Among the causes which past leaders have championed publically are the Chechen jihad and Palestinian terror attacks, including suicide bombings. ISB’s former imam was active in a charity which was later revealed to be involved in financing terror organizations such as Hamas, the Taliban, and Osama bin Laden’s radical Islamic network.
The Obama administration’s selection of ISB as the site of the president’s visit despite its radical ties should come as a surprise to few. Obama has been notoriously sympathetic to Muslim and Islamic causes, courting Muslim Brotherhood officials in Egypt during 2012’s Arab Spring while ignoring secular democracy advocacy groups. Indeed, many Coptic Christians and secular activists viewed Obama’s role as helping the Muslim Brotherhood ascend to power.
The brief tenure of openly pro-Hamas Mohammed Morsi as Egyptian president was endorsed by the Obama administration. Morsi has publically called for jihad against Israel, and the chairman of his political party called Egypt “a strategic treasury for our brothers in Palestine” against the “Zionist enemy.”
Obama’s administration praised Morsi’s rise to power, calling him a peacemaker even as widespread protests against Morsi led to riots and Morsi passed laws ensuring himself the unchecked power to run the country without a constitution.

More recently, Obama invited representatives of Islamic groups to the White House in December in order to discuss religious discrimination in a move that was criticized even within the Muslim community. Attendees at the gathering were associated with organizations, including the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), which has spoken out against counter-terror investigations and even run workshops advising potential terrorists on how to avoid FBI “entrapment.”
ISB officials have worked closely with CAIR in the past, joining together to criticize 2014’s Operation Protective Edge in Gaza. ISB and CAIR condemned Israeli military actions while neglecting to mention the fact that Hamas militants in Gaza purposely fired from areas densely populated with civilians in order to draw retaliatory Israeli fire which would kill non-combatants.
Abid Husain, ISB’s general secretary, accused Israel of “indiscriminate assault” and “unrestrained aerial bombardments of civilian populations” during the operation.
The moderate Muslim community in America has condemned Obama’s choice of mosque. In a Monday appearance on Fox News, American-Islamic Forum for Democracy president Dr. Zuhdi Jasser said, “As an American Muslim I’m just insulted. It’s disgraceful that this is one of the mosques – or the mosque – that he’s picked to be the first visit.”
Jasser described the actions of Muhammed al-Sheikh, a past ISB imam, who he said came “directly” from the Muslim Brotherhood in Sudan and has held online sermons excusing Palestinian suicide bombers.
“This is just a political stunt,” Jasser added. “He’s using our Muslim community as a backdrop, partisan politics, to basically check the box that he’s with the Muslim community” against anti-Muslim bigotry. However, Jasser points out, “The countries that he cozies up to – be it Iran or Saudia Arabia – mosques in America that are in bed with Iran and Saudi Arabia . . . are actually against diversity in our faith, so he insults our community by cozying up to radicals who have extreme views incompatible with America.”

Jerusalem Grand Mufti: Mosque Has Stood on Temple Mount “Since Creation of World”

“An evildoer listens to wicked lips, and a liar gives ear to a mischievous tongue.” (Proverbs 17:4)
The grand mufti of Jerusalem declared on Sunday that the Jewish Temples never sat atop the Temple Mount and that the holy site has been the location of a mosque “since the creation of the world.”
Sheikh Muhammad Ahmad Hussein, the Muslim cleric in charge of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, told Israel’s Channel 2 in an Arabic interview that the Temple Mount was really a mosque “3,000 years ago, and 30,000 years ago,” dating all the way back to the beginning of the world.
“This is the Al-Aqsa Mosque that Adam, peace be upon him, or during his time, the angels built,” Hussein explained, speaking of the 8th century mosque built by Caliph Abd al-Malik ibn Marwan.
The most holy site in all of Judaism and the third most holy in Islam, the Temple Mount has become a source of tension and cause for terrorism by the Palestinians against Israel.

Appointed by Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas in 2006, Hussein has openly endorsed suicide bombings against Israel and is known for ignoring both textual and archaeological evidence, from Muslim and non-Muslim sources, proving Jewish connections to the holy site.
The mufti’s denial of any religious and historic Jewish connections to the Temple Mount are the latest in a string of Palestinian incitement against Israel. Palestinian officials have claimed Israel is attempting to change the status quo on the Temple Mount, in which non-Muslim prayer is banned.
Over the weekend, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu affirmed Israel’s commitment to the status quo. On Saturday, US Secretary of State John Kerry announced that Israel and Jordan have agreed on new Temple Mount security measures, including 24-hour surveillance cameras.

Nazi flag flies south of Jerusalem

Nazi flag flies south of Jerusalem

Monday, May 20, 2013 |  Israel Today Staff
Residents of the Arab town of Beit Omar between Jerusalem and Hebron strung up a large Nazi flag adjacent to their local mosque on Monday in a clear message to the Jews living nearby.
A resident of the nearby Jewish communities of the Etzion Bloc said the incident was very jarring. "I felt we were going back 75 years, losing our hold on the land," he told the Tazpit News Agency. "The Arabs no longer feel the need to hide their murderous intentions, announcing out loud that they wish to annihilate us."
The Israeli army was notified about the Nazi flag, and sent in a team to remove it.
The Nazis and Adolf Hitler have long been idolized in much of Palestinian society. Hitler's "Mein Kampf" remains one of the 10 bestselling books in the Palestinian Authority-controlled territories today, and has a local distributor.
During World War II, the Palestinian leader in the Middle East, Haj Amin al-Husseini, was a close confidante of Hitler, and actively recruited fellow Muslims to the Nazi cause.
