The Rate Hike Stock Market Crash Has Thrown Gasoline Onto An Already Raging Global Financial Inferno - MICHAEL SNYDER THE ECONOMIC COLLAPSE BLOG
Posted: 20 Dec 2015
If the stock market crash of last Thursday and Friday had all happened on one day, it would have been the 7th largest single day decline in U.S. history. On Friday, the Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 367 points after finishing down 253 points on Thursday. The overall decline of 620 points between the two days would have been the 7th largest single day stock market crash ever experienced in the United States if it had happened within just one trading day. If you will remember, this is precisely what I warned would happen if the Federal Reserve raised interest rates. But when news of the rate hike first came out on Wednesday, stocks initially jumped. This didn’t make any sense at all, and personally I was absolutely stunned that the markets had behaved so irrationally. But then we saw that on Thursday and Friday the markets did exactly what we thought they would do. The chief economist at Gluskin Sheff, David Rosenberg, is calling the brief rally on Wednesday “a head-fake of enormous proportions“, and analysts all over Wall Street are bracing for what could be another very challenging week ahead. When the Federal Reserve decided to lift interest rates, they made a colossal error. You don’t raise interest rates when a global financial crisis has already started. That is absolutely suicidal. It is the kind of thing that you would do if you were trying to bring down the global financial system on purpose. Surely the “experts” at the Federal Reserve can see what is happening. Junk bonds have already crashed, just like they did in 2008. The price of oil has crashed, just like it did in 2008. Commodity prices have crashed, just like they did in 2008. And more than half of all major global stock market indexes are already down at least 10 percent for the year so far. You don’t raise interest rates in that kind of an environment. You would have to be utterly insane to do so. The Federal Reserve has thrown fuel onto a global financial inferno that is already raging, and things could spiral out of control very rapidly. As far as this upcoming week is concerned, we have now entered “liquidation season”. Investors are going to be pulling their money out of poorly performing hedge funds before the end of the calendar year, and as CNBC has pointed out, more hedge funds have already failed in 2015 than at any point since the last financial crisis… Liquidation season occurs when clients of poorly performing hedge funds ask for their money back. It tends to occur at the end of a quarter or year. In response, hedge funds must sell stocks in the open market to raise the money that needs to be returned to investors. The dominoes are starting to fall. We have already seen funds run by Third Avenue Management, Stone Lion Capital Partners and Lucidus Capital Partners collapse. Amazingly, there are some people out there that are still attempting to claim that “nothing is happening” even in the midst of all of this chaos. As they say, “denial” is not just a river in Egypt. And this crisis is going to get even worse as we head into 2016. Egon von Greyerz, the founder of Matterhorn Asset Management, is convinced that we will soon see “one disaster after another”… Greyerz predicts, “I think we will have one disaster after another, first in the junk bond market, then inemerging markets and, after that, the subprime markets. Subprime car loans and student loans I see as another massive problem area. It is going to be one thing after another that will unravel. Since 2008, when the world almost went under, we have printed or increased credit by 50% or by $70 trillion, and the world economy is still struggling to survive. I think the real change in confidence will come down when markets come down. . . . I think things will come down very quickly.”And I think that he is right on target. The global financial system is more interconnected today than ever before, and when one financial institution fails, it inevitably affects dozens of others. And the failures that we have already seen are already spreading a wave of fear and panic that may be difficult to stop. The following comes from Business Insider, and I think that it is a pretty good explanation of what we could see next…
The only question is how bad it is going to become. In the final analysis, I find myself agreeing quite a bit with Charles Hugh Smith, the author of “A Radically Beneficial World: Automation, Technology and Creating Jobs for All“. He believes that the ridiculous monetary policies of the Federal Reserve have played a primary role in setting the stage for this new crisis, and that now this giant financial “Death Star” that they have created “is about to blow up”… By slashing rates to zero, the Fed ruthlessly eliminating safe returns for savers, pension funds, insurers and the millions of people with 401K retirement nesteggs. In effect, the Fed-Farce has pushed everyone into risk assets–and then played another Dark Side mind-trick by masking the true dangers of these risky assets.Personally, instead of saying that it “is about to blow up”, I would have said that it is already blowing up. We have already seen trillions upon trillions of dollars of wealth wiped out around the world. Energy companies are failing, giant hedge funds are going under, and the 7th largest economy on the entire planet has already plunged into “an outright depression“. Everyone that warned of financial disaster in the second half of 2015 has been proven right, but this is just the beginning. Now that the Federal Reserve has thrown gasoline onto the fire, our problems are only going to accelerate as we head into 2016. So for the upcoming year, let us hope for the best, but let us also prepare for the worst. |
I Heard the Words, "No Honor, No Glory" by Paulette Reed - The Elijah List
I Heard the Words, "No Honor, No Glory"

The Elijah List
May the Glory Fall
For weeks now a powerful phrase has kept going through my spirit over and over again. The phrase is this: No honor, no glory. I've been searching through the Word of God to more fully understand what Holy Spirit is trying to teach me, because I know that "it is the glory of God to conceal a matter, but the glory of kings is to search out a matter" (Proverbs 25:2). If we want to see and experience the glory of God, then we'll need to build a foundation and determine why it is that if there is no honor then there is no glory.
In 2 Chronicles 5:11-14, the glory of God falls as the priests worship in the temple:
"When the priests came forth from the holy place (for all the priests who were present had sanctified themselves, without regard to divisions... and with them one hundred and twenty priests blowing trumpets in unison when the trumpeters and the singers were to make themselves heard with one voice to praise and to glorify the LORD... then the house, the house of the LORD, was filled with a cloud, so that the priests could not stand to minister because of the cloud, for the glory of the LORD filled the house of God."
The word shekinah comes from the Hebrew word shekinot, and it is used in the Bible when God would "settle in" or "dwell with" His people. This is the glory that was seen when God's presence filled the temple like a cloud. We also see this glory at the transfiguration on the Mount where Jesus shone brighter than the noonday sun as He spoke with Moses and Elijah.
God's glory falls when there is unity, when there is worship that glorifies or honors God, and when all things are lined up with the Kingdom of God.
What Is Honor?
Since we are each a temple of the Holy Spirit, it is so crucial to worship and honor the Lord with our lives and thus fill the earth with His glory. But what is honor? As a noun, honor means "esteem, value, or great respect." In the Bible, to honor someone is to value him or her highly. We are told to express honor and esteem to certain people, such as our parents, the aged, as well as those who are in authority (see Ephesians 6:2; Leviticus 19:32; Romans 13:1). But, at the same time, we must understand that all authority and honor belong to God alone (see 1 Chronicles 29:11; 1 Timothy 1:17; Revelation 5:13).
Even though God can delegate His authority to others, it still only belongs to Him (see Ephesians 4:11-12). This means that when we honor someone, because God has commanded us to do so and because we want to, we're really honoring God.
In Isaiah 29:13 the Lord says, "These people say they are Mine. They honor Me with their lips, but their hearts are far from Me. And their worship of Me is nothing but man-made rules learned by rote."
It looks like honor, sounds like honor, but it's not true honor – at least not how God defines it. Honor is simply the overflow of the reverential fear of God springing forth in our hearts. (Photo via Pixabay)
The Bible talks about a noteworthy group of people who are deserving of "double honor," which are the leadership of the Church. First Timothy 5:17says, "Let the elders who rule well be considered worthy of double honor, especially those who labor in preaching and teaching." Not only do we attribute double honor to Church leaders, but we see that the Word gives us the command to honor one another in our marketplace relationships too (see 1 Timothy 3:1-7; 6:1; Ephesians 6:5-9), and of course in the marriage relationship between husbands and wives (see Hebrews 13:4; Ephesians 5:23-33).
Of all the commands to honor one another, the one repeated most often pertains to honoring one's father and mother (see Exodus 20:12; Matthew 15:4). This command was so important to God that if anyone cursed or struck one of his or her parents, then they were to be put to death (see Exodus 21:15, 17).
To Honor Is to Love
The book of Proverbs illustrates how our behavior results in honor. Proverbs 21:21 says, "Whoever pursues righteousness and love finds life, prosperity and honor." Let's remember that honor as taught in the Scriptures is far different from the type of honor sought after by the world today. Honor and awards are frequently given to those with wealth, clout, worldly power, and celebrity status. Those who thrive on worldly honor are actually in a precarious place, because "God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble" (1 Peter 5:5).
We never want to be like the Pharisees who sought after honor from others, because Jesus totally rejected that type of behavior. He said, "Everything they do is done for people to see" (Matthew 23:5), and he not only labeled them as hypocrites but "snakes" and "vipers" too (Matthew 23:29-33).
The bottom line is that all of Heaven raises its voice in honor and praise to God, and we are instructed to do likewise: "You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for You created all things, and by Your will they were created and have their being" (Revelation 4:11).
What Happens When We Honor?
In 2 John 8 we learn that our full reward from the Lord is consequential. It says, "Watch yourselves, that you do not lose what we have accomplished, but that you may receive a full reward." I don't know about you, but I want a full reward, not just a partial one.
Mark tells us of some folks who made bad choices and who did not receive their full reward:
"Jesus went out from there and came into His hometown; and His disciples followed Him. When the Sabbath came, He began to teach in the synagogue; and the many listeners were astonished, saying, 'Where did this man get these things, and what is this wisdom given to Him, and such miracles as these performed by His hands? Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, and brother of James and Joses and Judas and Simon? Are not His sisters here with us?' And they took offense at Him.
"Jesus said to them, 'A prophet is not without honor except in his hometown and among his own relatives and in his own household.' And He could do no miracle there except that He laid His hands on a few sick people and healed them. And He wondered at their unbelief" (Mark 6:1-6).
The people of the day assumed that the Messiah was to deliver everyone from Roman oppression, and when Jesus didn't line up with the image they had in their minds, they became offended with Him and familiarity moved in. Jesus became just a carpenter to many: "Hey, isn't that the carpenter? Didn't he build the picnic table out back?" (Photo by Kevin Moffatt "Come Out!" via elijahshopper.com)
The people did not receive Christ's full reward because they did not honor Him. And because of that, He left and went on to another place. It has been said that familiarity breeds contempt, which could also be stated as familiarity leads to dishonor. The better we know someone, the more likely we are to find fault with him or her. If we know an individual well enough, it is easy to stop respecting them, which is exactly what happened in Jesus' hometown. Because of familiarity, they did not respect Him as a prophet, and therefore He couldn't do any miracles there.
We need to be careful not to engage in familiarity in any arena of our life. We can't become too familiar with those who teach the Word of God ("He no longer impresses me"), with the message of the Word of God itself ("I've heard that so many times before; I already know that"), or that we just no longer appreciate the significance of the Word of God ("I'm just not getting fed anymore").
If we do this, we may cut ourselves off from a powerful message, we may cut ourselves off from miracles (Jesus only healed a few), and, worst of all, Jesus might leave. Because of contempt and dishonor, we can lose access to receiving the full blessings of Christ.
Whom Do We Honor?
When we expound on these Scriptures and replace the word "receives" with "honors," the message becomes clear. First and foremost, we are to honor God. And we are also to honor "those whom He sends." Everyone and everything else that we honor will flow from us as vessels of honor. Paul wrote to Timothy: "If anyone cleanses himself from these things, he will be a vessel for honor, sanctified, useful to the Master, prepared for every good work" (2 Timothy 2:21).
Visualize yourself and others as the finest and most exquisite vessels of china in the entire world. Would you fill those vessels with trash? Of course not. And neither would the Lord. In order to be filled with the glory of God, we must learn to express honor from the depths of our hearts. We desperately need the glory, as it eclipses everything – there's no cancer in the glory, no slander, no poverty, and no sin. But we must remember that if there is no honor, then there will be no glory.

Evangelical Beliefs on Israel Match Prophetic Doomsday Scenarios By Rivkah Lambert Adler - BREAKING ISRAEL NEWS

Evangelical Beliefs on Israel Match Prophetic Doomsday Scenarios
“Woe is to me for I have sojourned in Meshech; I dwelt among the tents of Kedar. For a long time, my soul dwelt with those who hate peace. I am peace, but when I speak, they are for war.” (Psalms 120:5-7)
A recent survey of Christian Evangelicals has them echoing Jewish prophecies, associating trouble in Israel and the rest of the Middle East with End Times.
Brookings Institute, a Washington DC-based think tank, recently released the results of their survey entitled American Attitudes Toward the Middle East and Israel. Among the more noteworthy results of their survey are two findings related to Evangelical Christian beliefs about Israel and the End of Days.
A staggering 73 percent of Evangelical respondents say that world events would turn against Israel the closer we get to End Times. In addition, 79 percent of Evangelicals believe that the unfolding violence across the Middle East is a sign that the End Times are near. These two findings are consistent with beliefs based in Biblical prophecy and rabbinic teachings.
In the Biblical Books of the Prophets, there are two scenarios regarding the War of Gog and Magog and the End of Days, one from Ezekiel and one from Zechariah.
In his book The Ishmaelite Exile, Rabbi Yechiel Weitzman confirms that Ezekiel’s prophecy is the more pleasant of the two. Weitzman explains that Ezekiel prophesied that the war of Gog and Magog will be fought outside of Israel. “According to the prophecy of Yechezkel (Ezekiel), the Jewish nation will not be involved at all in the war of Gog, for it will take place only in the mountains of the north,” he writes.
The darker prophecy comes from Zechariah and describes an End of Days war fought in Jerusalem:
“And I will gather all the nations to Jerusalem to wage war; and the city shall be captured, and the houses shall be plundered, and the women shall be ravished, and half the city shall go forth into exile-and the rest of the people shall not be cut off from the city.” (Zechariah 14:2)
Islamic terror occurring in Israel and across the Middle East – the specific violence that Evangelical Christians believe are a marker of the End of Days as revealed in the survey- was also hinted at by King David in the Book of Psalms.
“Woe is to me for I have sojourned in Meshech; I dwelt among the tents of Kedar. For a long time, my soul dwelt with those who hate peace. I am peace, but when I speak, they are for war.” (Psalms 120:5-7)
Sometimes, as in the above quote, the Bible refers to Ishmael using the name Kedar. Literally, Kedar was a son of Yishmael.
“And these are the names of the sons of Ishmael by their names, according to their births: the firstborn of Ishmael was Nebaioth, and Kedar and Adbe’el and Mibsam.” (Genesis 25:13)
Much later, troubling times for Israel at the End of Days was predicted by Rabbi Israel Meir HaKohen Kagan, born in 1839 and popularly known as the Chofetz Chaim. The Chofetz Chaim passed away in 1933, before Word War II, the establishment of the State of Israel and the ascendancy of Islamic terrorism. Nevertheless, he described the time before the arrival of the Messiah as one in which the Jewish people will endure difficulties that will occur in incredibly quick succession.
According to a translation by Weitzman, the Chofetz Chaim stated: “Before the coming of Moshiach (Messiah), Hashem (God) will act in a hurried manner so wondrous that even all who are wise of heart will be unable to fathom it. The troubles and persecutions [of the Jewish people] will follow each other so closely that there will be no space between them. Just as for an expectant woman who is about to give birth, the closer she comes to the moment of birth, the more intense her contractions and her pain, and this is the most reliable indication that the birth is nearing, so too, the wheels of the era will turn faster at the time of the birth pangs of Moshiach.”
There are those, like the prophet Ezekiel, who believe that it is still possible for God to bring the redemption with pleasantness and mercy. At the same time, like the Evangelical Christians surveyed by the Brookings Institute, the prophecies of Zechariah, King David and the Chofetz Chaim warn of a darker scenario.
Rabbi Pinchas Winston, international lecture, prolific author and End of Days expert, explained to Breaking Israel News that history certainly seems to be playing out a less merciful end game.
“End-of-Days scenarios have been around since the beginning of days. To many, Doomsday Sayers have seemed out of touch with reality. However, with the direction history seems to be going, and quite involuntarily, it seems more like reality is getting in touch with the Doomsdayers,” he said.
“Even mainstream media has begun mentioning the unmentionable: World War III, and all of a sudden the End-of-Days scenarios are becoming common culture for all peoples.”
