The Red Scarf - Now Think On This message by Steve Martin, Love For His People, Inc.

Dec. 31, 2018

Greetings in the name of the Lord Jesus, Yeshua.

The new year is upon us, according to the Gregorian calendar, after having the biblical new year begin in October. With another year passing, I can honestly say it was a very good year in many aspects personally. I hope you can say that too.

As always, thank you, Lord, for hope You instill in us, for what is coming according to Your plans and purposes for each of us!

Thank you also to you who read these emails and then go onto the Love For His Peoplewebsite to see what else has been posted. Very encouraging. (I see the reports.)

My recent Now Think On This message, The Red Scarf, actually came about after a request by my Charlestonian sister to re-send a photo I had taken in Dublin, Ireland this past May. At the time it was just another photo ("another photo" - Facebook has 40,000 of mine now over the past 10 years) but doesn't the Holy Spirit use everyday things to speak to us? He sure does!

And remember, in this new year, giving thanks for the little things, everyday moments in our lives leads us to even greater opportunities to see the Lord work on our behalf. Give thanks today!

Be blessed with ahava (love) and shalom (peace),

Steve Martin

P.S. My book Jerusalem and Friends shares a few important reasons why we support the chosen people of Israel. This coming May 2019 my good wife Laurie and I will be again visiting those families we support monthly in Jerusalem and Tiberias. You can order online through the link below, and help support them too. Please do so!

"…then how much more the blood of the Messiah, who, through the eternal Spirit, offered himself to God as a sacrifice without blemish, will purify our conscience from works that lead to death, so that we can serve the living God!” (Hebrews 9:14, Complete Jewish Bible)

When my Charleston sister Mary requested a photo I had taken in Ireland in May 2018, of her wearing a red scarf as we walked the Dublin city park, the Holy Spirit quickened me to write about the blood. The red blood that flowed from the Savior’s body. For us.

The red blood that saves us from our sin.

Remember the Christian hymn (so ancient by some terms these days) we used to sing in church? “What can wash away my sins? Nothing but the blood of Jesus.” (Robert Lowry (1826-1899 – See below for the full lyrics from 1876.)

How many still believe in the blood of Jesus? How many still believe in sin? If there is no sin, then why the big deal about the blood? Some would say there is no longer any need to preach about the blood of the Messiah, to teach about the necessity of His sacrificial death on the Roman cross, that rugged tree.

Does it matter what others would say about something they have dismissed, to do away with “sin”, “guilt”, “shame”, “forgiveness”? If there is no God, then it would not matter.

But because there is the One and True God, then it most certainly does. To use a now worn out cliché’ in another way, “Sin matters.”

To put this in simple terms, we needed a restoration, a redemption, a way to return to the Creator of all life, the One Who sets the rules. Because of sin committed back in the Garden of Eden (and yes, Adam and Eve really did exist) there became a separation from God the Father for all mankind. But down through the many centuries He patiently and consistently revealed, first to the Jews, and then the Gentiles, how to get that relationship restored.

There must be a cleansing from the wrong. There had to be Someone to become the Passover lamb, the one who knew no sin, to fulfill the requirement that the Holy God had properly put in place. Only the Son of God, Yeshua, met that established law, and only He could fulfill the prophetic promises of His coming with exactness. Only He could meet the requirements of perfection, to bring about the forgiveness of sin.

It was sin that removed us from God the Father, being His Holiness does not permit sin in His presence. It was the unblemished blood that could bring us back. Only the blood of the Messiah would meet that requirement. Without spot. Without blemish. The Perfect Lamb of God. He was the substitution for us, to forever cover the sin that would have kept us from the eternal relationship God the Father so desires with us, His creation.

“And if you call on the Father, who without partiality judges according to each one's work, conduct yourselves throughout the time of your stay here in fear; knowing that you were not redeemed with corruptible things, like silver or gold, from your aimless conduct received by tradition from your fathers, but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot. He indeed was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you who through Him believe in God, who raised Him from the dead and gave Him glory, so that your faith and hope are in God.” (1 Peter 1:17-21, NKJV)

For those of us who believe, who have repented and received Jesus Christ’s sacrificial death on our behalf, in order for us to be restored to God the Father, for eternity we will give thanks.

For those who have yet to acknowledge that their sin has separated them from God, and can only be forgiven when they call on the Name of Yeshua (Jesus), may your heart be opened to the truth, and may you too receive the gift of eternal life that comes only through confessing and believing.

Those who stand with Israel, and particularly Jerusalem, will receive the promised blessings given to those who do so. The ones who oppose the purposes of God for this people and land will receive the eternal judgment He also promises He will hand out.

Sharing this book, containing some of my experiences in Jerusalem, is a joy, and also a promise to always stand with Israel.

You can get it in paperback or Kindle.

Steve Martin - Arms of Love message - "Forgive, Forget, Move On"

"Forgive, Forget, Move On"

Steve Martin

Aug. 29, 2017

Greetings friends of Love For His People.

Thank you, Lord for another opportunity to share!

This week I wrote my latest Now Think On This message entitled, "Forgive, Forget, Move On". May not be the most popular one I have shared, but probably one of the most needed in the Body of Christ, the workplace, the cities we live in and all around the world.

Humans seem to like to carry hurts, bitterness, resentments in their heart, and then pass them onto their kids. No wonder one of Jesus' truthful messages, included in the main example of prayer which we call the "Lord's Prayer", or "Our Father", included the words, "forgive our debts as we forgive our debtors."

Many of those walking this life, carrying the baggage of painful memories, very real in fact, will find themselves forgiven by the Lord, as they also walk in forgiveness. It can't be an option. It must be a daily choice - to forgive, forget, and then move on with life.

I hope you are encouraged by this message. This dying world needs the love of Jesus, Yeshua, and we have the answers to share with them. But we must walk out the answers ourselves, first.

Learning and abiding in forgiveness is a major lesson for each of us. May we all do this well so we can get on with doing what we each have been called to do!

Ahava and shalom,

Steve

Our niece, Pastor Kylie Groves, at Lyman Wesleyan Church - message on the sacraments, baptism, sin and grace.

Our niece, Pastor Kylie Groves, at Lyman Wesleyan Church - the sacraments, baptism, sin and grace.

July 16, 2017

This Sunday my mom Lila Parker, husband Bill Parker and I journeyed the hour and a half drive down I85 from Charlotte, North Carolina to Lyman, South Carolina (near Greenville). My niece Kylie Groves, now married to Dillon Groves, was giving the message at their new place of ministry, the Lyman Wesleyan Church. Both are now the pastors of the congregation.

Kylie did a great job with her message, as she shared truth found in the Word of God.

Along with her two sisters (Chelsea and Jamie), she was grounded in the Word by her parents - my sister Janet Rovenstine, and her husband, my good brother-in-law, Senior Pastor Nate Rovenstine. (They lead the Connect Church in Lawrence, Kansas. Both are graduates of the Wesleyan college in Bartlesville, OK.)

It is very good and encouraging to see our family walk in the ways of the Lord Jesus, teaching and sharing the love of the Lord with those around them.

Good job Kylie! We are proud of you and Dillon. Keep up the great, eternal work of sharing the faith that is so needed in our day. Your generation and mine need to hear you stand strong for righteousness and truth, with courage and boldness.

Be blessed in your blessing others,

P.S. And I hope you enjoy the three books I gave you! Sorry I misspelled your name Dillon when I signed them. I also have a grand daughter named Dylan Joy.
