Steph Curry Explains Moment He Truly Became a Christian and ‘Gave My Life to Christ’ - CBN News Lindsay Elizabeth

Steph Curry Explains Moment He Truly Became a Christian and ‘Gave My Life to Christ’
06-09-2019
In-between leading his team to the NBA finals, and being a dad to three kids under seven, Steph Curry released episode five of his Facebook series, “Stephen vs. The Game,” to which he dedicated to his faith.
The episode, titled “Faith,” details the impact Curry’s relationship with Jesus Christ has had on his basketball career, his family, and how he deals with every obstacle that comes his way.
“Faith” begins with Curry explaining how at the end of the day, his faith resides in his creator because he knows he can only control so much, and that there is a much bigger power controlling the universe.
“My faith is tested on the court as much as it is in life,” Curry said on the show.
“It’s the part that always keeps me focused on what I need to do when it comes to my family, when it comes to my job, when it comes to how I treat other people, my appreciation for life and all the good things that happen and how to deal with the bad things that happen.”
The 3X NBA Champion point guard for the Golden State Warriors believes fully that his strengths, abilities, and talents come from God. This pushes him put his faith first in all aspects of life, whether that is family, or on the court.
“I put believer first, because that is supposed to be the roots of everything that I do as a believer, as a husband, as a father, and on down from there.”
“Faith to me is believing in the unseen, and having a conviction that there is a higher power that has given me a purpose to what I am doing on this earth,” he added. “For me, that is the foundation to how I live my life and how I want to see the world through that lens.”
How Family and Faith Has Shaped His Life
The NBA superstar grew up going to church. Every Wednesday, he would attend the youth service at church, and then on Sundays, his family would all attend the morning service.
Curry’s father, Dell Curry, also shared in the episode how foundational faith had been to both him and Steph’s mother and how they made sure to instill the same values in their children.
Both his parents, Dell and Sonya, shared how their faith is their foundation to all things in life. Whether they have challenges, questions, times of prosperity: God is at the center for all things.
“My faith to me is my strength,” Sonya Curry shared. “When I have questions, challenges, I read the Word, and it’s my beacon of light, my lighthouse.”
Part of the reason that Curry has stayed so firm in his faith, could be due to the fact that his family made it a priority growing up. His mother shared that she would wake the kids up before school to do devotionals as a family, “to emphasis putting God first.”
Until he was in eighth grade, Curry more so saw Christianity as his parent’s faith.
“[Christianity] was more something that was important to my parents but I never really understood it,” Curry said. “It was a decision I needed to make for myself. I was kinda just going with the flow.”
He recalled an experience in eighth grade where one of his pastors, Pastor Jason, explained the importance of having your own faith, and not just living off of your parent’s faith, which hit Curry hard.
“I felt a calling, went down to the altar, and gave my life to Christ,” Curry shared. “That became the beginning of my own personal journey.”
“My faith is about the personal relationship, more so than following a certain religious tradition or practice. Challenges you to make sure that you are feeding your spirit with the right things versus what the world is throwing at us. It’s a constant battle, if I say I have it down, I’d be lying.”
Sharing His Faith On and Off The Court
Curry explained that although he takes every opportunity to talk to someone about God, and his faith, he puts a larger emphasis on letting his actions speak for him.
“I strive to be myself, live out my faith, continue to learn, and not be afraid of that higher calling. I feel there’s a responsibility to that, and I own it,” Curry explained.
He also added how he began writing “I can do all things…” on his shoes after his mother challenged him to find a life verse to give him strength.
“My mom challenged me to find a verse that I could rely on to give me strength, give me a sense of purpose and to remember who I was playing for every time I lace up my sneakers,” he shared.
“It reminds me why I am blessed with these talents, where I get my strength from, and who I am playing for,” Curry added.
The episode wraps up with Curry driving his two daughters Riley and Ryan to school, saying a prayer along the way.
“Dear God,” Curry says out loud, “We thank you for this day. I thank you for my pretty girls, Riley and Ryan. I ask that you keep them safe at school today and that they have fun, and let them be on their best behavior. I pray that they learn something, and have fun with their friends. And we thank you for all your many blessings, and in Jesus name, we pray.”
“Amen,” the three say.
While they drive, Christian singer Lauren Daigle’s song “You Say” plays in the background, with the girls singing along.
The Facebook series is season two of “Versus On Watch,” where Facebook goes behind the scenes with some of the greatest athletes, letting viewers see a glimpse into their day-to-day. Last fall, Tom Brady became the first athlete to appear on “Versus On Watch,” filming six episodes for the show.

This is a sobering but very necessary word that we need to hear right now.
I know some of you have gone through attack after attack, and wondered, "What is this all about?"
Well you're going to get some powerful insight from Madeline James as she shares this about dealing with attacks:
It's important to stay close to the fire, glory, and presence of God because it reveals pythons and vipers that try to hide, and lie in wait to attack. You don't have to fear the attack. The attack will come, but like Paul, shake it back into the fire for the Lord to deal with. You may have people watching and waiting for you to drop, but your life is going to be testimony of God's goodness and power. No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue that rises up against you shall be put down (Isaiah 54:17). The very thing that's come against you is going to become the meal to your next!
Be vigilant and stay on alert. God's got this and you can stand in any attack coming against you. (To Subscribe to the Elijah List subscribe here.)

I had a recent dream that caught my attention and gave insight and revelation to what many have been dealing with in this season in the Body of Christ. Dreams, visions and revelations are the language of Heaven. The more we have a grid for the revelatory realm, the more we can understand the things of the spirit and inhabit the realms of the spirit. Many are in a season of transition, movement and promotion, but have been experiencing great warfare.
Over the last couple weeks I began to have a series of dreams where accusations were being made against me. I was being chased by the demonic, and I felt unusually drained. I began to inquire of the Lord as to what was going on, because this was abnormal.
A Snake on a Plane
I had a dream last week where I was on a plane with a known apostle, on the way to somewhere. (Planes represent going to higher realms in the spirit.) On the plane we were served dinner. I took the cover off of my food, and immediately noticed there was a dead snake in my salad. The apostle leaned over and asked if I liked snake. I replied, "No, I don't like snake, nor do I have a taste for it." He then began to tell me there is a way to deal with snakes. The apostle told me, "You have to take the snake and you have to bite the head off first."
In the dream it was exaggerated, and he actually ended up eating half of the snake in one bite. When he was done, he told me this is how its done in the apostolic, you have to take the head off and eat it; the attacks can become your meal and nourishment.
What is a Python Spirit?
I didn't realize I was dealing with a python spirit until this dream. I believe many of you have been dealing with this spirit as the Lord has been promoting you and enlarging you in this season. The python spirit comes to constrict and choke out the prophetic breath in you. (Photo via Madeline James)
In Acts 16, when Paul and Silas were on their way to pray, they met a slave girl who was a diviner, and they encountered the python spirit. The Greek word for divination here is "puthón," which means "python" (Acts 16:16 KJV). She began to boast that Paul and Silas were men of God, there to tell the town about how they could be saved. What she was saying was right, but it irritated Paul's spirit. It irritated his spirit because that spirit was mocking them.
The python spirit is a counterfeit to the prophetic. We see this in the Old Testament as well. In Exodus 8, Moses and Aaron had a showdown of power with Pharaoh and his diviners. The Lord caused Aaron's staff to turn into a serpent. Pharaoh commanded his diviners to do the same. Their staffs turned into serpents but Aaron's staff swallowed up the diviners' staffs. There is no substitute for God's power. The enemy may try to mimic the power of God, but God's power will swallow it up every time.
The python comes to control regions and choke out the prophetic voice. In Acts 16 the slave girl and her owners had the whole city bought, and it prohibited the spirit of God from truly moving in their city. It was a false form of religion. When Paul cast the python spirit out of the slave girl it caused an uproar in the town, because the python spirit had been dethroned. It caused the people to come against them with false accusations, and they were imprisoned. The people tried to stop what God was doing.
Can't You Talk Louder, God?
Different Ways the Python Spirit Constricts You
The python spirit comes to constrict you in multiple ways. A lot of times we don't even realize we're dealing with a python spirit. In the natural, a snake will slowly began to wrap itself around a person or thing without much alarm, until it's too late and you can't get out of its grip. When it has you right where it wants you, it goes in for the kill. Just like in the natural, the python is very strategic in its attack. When you feel stifled and constricted in the spirit, it's a sign of the python spirit attacking you.
I really feel that the python spirit has been constricting your mind in this season, and even using people around you to keep you in a place of constriction because of their words. When the python spirit limits your thoughts, you're not able to think God thoughts, or receive where God is trying to take you. Proverbs 23:7(TPT) says, "For as he thinks within himself, so is he...." Our thoughts and what we think about ourselves play out in our behaviors.
How to Cut off the Snake's Head
The enemy will also use people to constrict you by releasing word curses, accusations, and lies. Sometimes people can't celebrate what God is doing in your life, and because they have open doors the enemy will come in and use them against you. Remember, our fight is not against flesh and blood but in the spirit (Ephesians 6:12). You win the battle when you take it up in the spirit.
To defeat the lies, accusations, and curses, you must release the Word of God. The truth of God's Word will break the power of the lies and accusations. The Word of God is the sword of the Spirit. Take the sword of the Spirit and sever the the head of that python or serpent coming against you. When you sever the head, it has no longer has power.
Another way to defeat the python and serpent spirits is to stay close to the fire of God. We see this in Acts 28. Paul arrives on the island of Malta and starts a fire. As he adds more wood to the fire, a viper, that can't take the heat of the fire, comes out and bites Paul on the hand. Then he shakes it off back into the fire, killing it. The people who witnessed this are waiting for him to die because of the deadly venom, but Paul is fine, and the people end up revering him because he survives. (Photo via Pixabay)
I prophesy and declare over you that every accusation and slanderous tongue which has come against you is being brought down. I take the sword of the Spirit and sever the head of the python. I speak the breath of God to be loosed over you and in you. Where the enemy has tried to constrict you, to bind you, it's being broken in Jesus name! (To Subscribe to the Elijah List subscribe here.)

The God who goes everywhere - ONE FOR ISRAEL

SHALOM!
"Where can I go from your Spirit?
Where can I flee from your presence?"
(Ps 139:7)

As Jonah discovered, there's no getting away from God. Our omnipresent God is reaching Israeli adventurers in every corner of the globe - there is nowhere too far from him, and nowhere he cannot go! And the amazing thing is that we also have access to all areas through our prayers.

This week, we celebrate Shavuot, the Feast of Weeks, or as you might know it, Pentecost. What a symbol of God's heart for the nations! There is no wall God cannot traverse.

The God Who Goes Through Walls:
Prayer is a VIP Pass

Our God is not stopped by any border, wall or division. He does not need permission to march into the rooms – or even the minds – of leaders, kings and rulers. Their hearts are like water in his hands. God does not need to tap telephones or install CCTV to know what’s going on in top-level meetings. He does not need a special pass to enter the Oval Office. He’s just there, all the time. He is not just a VIP, he is the MIP – the Most Important Person, with access to all areas.

People all across the Middle East are experiencing Jesus showing up in their homes. Villagers in Jordan, housewives in Iran, a Palestinian judge of Shari’a law… Jesus appears to them, right in their rooms. An Arab pastor happened to be actually on the phone with a guy in the West Bank while he was seeing this remarkable sight.
The Revolution of Pentecost

Pentecost (the word “pente” relates to the 50 days counted since Passover) is also known in Israel as Shavuot, the Feast of Weeks. Pentecost was the event when the Holy Spirit was poured out and made available to all flesh, as God promised through the prophet Joel. It’s easy to forget that before Yeshua came and opened up the new and living way, Gentiles were banned from the Temple Courts.

But then, on the morning of Shavuot, a revolution began...

I share this with you...Steve Martin, Founder/President, Love For His People, Inc. ministry

June 13, 2019

Greetings to those who read our current website for Love For His People.

Throughout our 9 years of ministry, since the founding in April of 2010, I have rarely presented people with the opportunity to support this ministry, other than a short sentence or two at the bottom of my regular Now Think On This messages. But now I am.

In order to further share the mission of what the Lord has called us to - teach Christians about our debt to Israel and the Jews, support Messianic Jews in Israel, share encouraging words (originally called love letters) to readers across the nations, publish books proclaiming the plans and purposes of our Lord in everyday lives, and to assist ones wanting to immigrate (make aliyah) to Israel and help in settling there - the Lord is calling, and enabling us, to expand.

Truths shared in our messages, the books yet to be written and published, and the goals to provide more support for those in Israel, need to be more widely known. I personally cannot do that, having gone as far as I can with what you have seen, primarily without much assistance beyond my own time and efforts. It has also been through the primary funding of family members that we have gone thus far.

With this challenge presented to expand, I approached a local company here in the Charlotte, North Carolina area, who has a good history of helping ministries such as ours with social media and grant funding. They have now given me their quote, in order to accomplish more, as follows.

"I would love to move forward with you. I know you are looking for a $500 per month solution. This is possible on a longer term basis, but to get you in a good place we would want to do the following (which would be an additional fee).

1. Build basic website structured in the way that we could build upon in as we move forward.
        a. Lead Generation aspects included.
        b. Teachings included.
        c. Mission of ministry built out.
        d. Everything we both feel that are needed.
2. Work with Google to get you into the grants program.
3. Set-up your Google Ads campaign with the goal of being able to utilize their $10,000 per month spend.
4. Plan and build out strategy of ministry to bring people into the fold.

To do this right we would need $2,500 down. I expect the plan, build and approval to go into the end of July. Then we would start on the marketing aspect August 1st for the $500 per month."

And so I put this out there, seeking those who will help with this goal.

Either through a one-time contribution or a commitment to send monthly support for a length of time, I do ask now for your help.
