"How to Deal with the Attacks Coming Against You" - Madeline James The Elijah List

"How to Deal with the Attacks Coming Against You"

Madeline James The Elijah List

From the Desk of Steve Shultz:
Steve Shultz
This is a sobering but very necessary word that we need to hear right now.
I know some of you have gone through attack after attack, and wondered, "What is this all about?"
Well you're going to get some powerful insight from Madeline James as she shares this about dealing with attacks:
It's important to stay close to the fire, glory, and presence of God because it reveals pythons and vipers that try to hide, and lie in wait to attack. You don't have to fear the attack. The attack will come, but like Paul, shake it back into the fire for the Lord to deal with. You may have people watching and waiting for you to drop, but your life is going to be testimony of God's goodness and power. No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue that rises up against you shall be put down (Isaiah 54:17). The very thing that's come against you is going to become the meal to your next!
Be vigilant and stay on alert. God's got this and you can stand in any attack coming against you. (To Subscribe to the Elijah List subscribe here.)

I had a recent dream that caught my attention and gave insight and revelation to what many have been dealing with in this season in the Body of Christ. Dreams, visions and revelations are the language of Heaven. The more we have a grid for the revelatory realm, the more we can understand the things of the spirit and inhabit the realms of the spirit. Many are in a season of transition, movement and promotion, but have been experiencing great warfare.
Over the last couple weeks I began to have a series of dreams where accusations were being made against me. I was being chased by the demonic, and I felt unusually drained. I began to inquire of the Lord as to what was going on, because this was abnormal.
A Snake on a Plane
I had a dream last week where I was on a plane with a known apostle, on the way to somewhere. (Planes represent going to higher realms in the spirit.) On the plane we were served dinner. I took the cover off of my food, and immediately noticed there was a dead snake in my salad. The apostle leaned over and asked if I liked snake. I replied, "No, I don't like snake, nor do I have a taste for it." He then began to tell me there is a way to deal with snakes. The apostle told me, "You have to take the snake and you have to bite the head off first."
In the dream it was exaggerated, and he actually ended up eating half of the snake in one bite. When he was done, he told me this is how its done in the apostolic, you have to take the head off and eat it; the attacks can become your meal and nourishment.
What is a Python Spirit?
I didn't realize I was dealing with a python spirit until this dream. I believe many of you have been dealing with this spirit as the Lord has been promoting you and enlarging you in this season. The python spirit comes to constrict and choke out the prophetic breath in you. (Photo via Madeline James)
In Acts 16, when Paul and Silas were on their way to pray, they met a slave girl who was a diviner, and they encountered the python spirit. The Greek word for divination here is "puthón," which means "python" (Acts 16:16 KJV). She began to boast that Paul and Silas were men of God, there to tell the town about how they could be saved. What she was saying was right, but it irritated Paul's spirit. It irritated his spirit because that spirit was mocking them.
The python spirit is a counterfeit to the prophetic. We see this in the Old Testament as well. In Exodus 8, Moses and Aaron had a showdown of power with Pharaoh and his diviners. The Lord caused Aaron's staff to turn into a serpent. Pharaoh commanded his diviners to do the same. Their staffs turned into serpents but Aaron's staff swallowed up the diviners' staffs. There is no substitute for God's power. The enemy may try to mimic the power of God, but God's power will swallow it up every time.
The python comes to control regions and choke out the prophetic voice. In Acts 16 the slave girl and her owners had the whole city bought, and it prohibited the spirit of God from truly moving in their city. It was a false form of religion. When Paul cast the python spirit out of the slave girl it caused an uproar in the town, because the python spirit had been dethroned. It caused the people to come against them with false accusations, and they were imprisoned. The people tried to stop what God was doing.
Can't You Talk Louder, God?
Different Ways the Python Spirit Constricts You
The python spirit comes to constrict you in multiple ways. A lot of times we don't even realize we're dealing with a python spirit. In the natural, a snake will slowly began to wrap itself around a person or thing without much alarm, until it's too late and you can't get out of its grip. When it has you right where it wants you, it goes in for the kill. Just like in the natural, the python is very strategic in its attack. When you feel stifled and constricted in the spirit, it's a sign of the python spirit attacking you.
I really feel that the python spirit has been constricting your mind in this season, and even using people around you to keep you in a place of constriction because of their words. When the python spirit limits your thoughts, you're not able to think God thoughts, or receive where God is trying to take you. Proverbs 23:7(TPT) says, "For as he thinks within himself, so is he...." Our thoughts and what we think about ourselves play out in our behaviors.
How to Cut off the Snake's Head
The enemy will also use people to constrict you by releasing word curses, accusations, and lies. Sometimes people can't celebrate what God is doing in your life, and because they have open doors the enemy will come in and use them against you. Remember, our fight is not against flesh and blood but in the spirit (Ephesians 6:12). You win the battle when you take it up in the spirit.
To defeat the lies, accusations, and curses, you must release the Word of God. The truth of God's Word will break the power of the lies and accusations. The Word of God is the sword of the Spirit. Take the sword of the Spirit and sever the the head of that python or serpent coming against you. When you sever the head, it has no longer has power.
Another way to defeat the python and serpent spirits is to stay close to the fire of God. We see this in Acts 28. Paul arrives on the island of Malta and starts a fire. As he adds more wood to the fire, a viper, that can't take the heat of the fire, comes out and bites Paul on the hand. Then he shakes it off back into the fire, killing it. The people who witnessed this are waiting for him to die because of the deadly venom, but Paul is fine, and the people end up revering him because he survives. (Photo via Pixabay)
I prophesy and declare over you that every accusation and slanderous tongue which has come against you is being brought down. I take the sword of the Spirit and sever the head of the python. I speak the breath of God to be loosed over you and in you. Where the enemy has tried to constrict you, to bind you, it's being broken in Jesus name! (To Subscribe to the Elijah List subscribe here.)

Dutch Sheets: Satan Is About to Get a Migraine as This Revelation Unfolds - CHARISMA NEWS

When the church steps into its calling, there will be an explosion of God's power. (Pexels/Tookapic)
DUTCH SHEETS  CHARISMA NEWS
I don't think we have ever seen the expression of the government of God on planet Earth at the level we are about to see it. I am not just talking about the American church. In fact, we have some work to do. I'm talking about the church worldwide that will be the full expression of the kingdom of God. The full representation of the King will be released on this earth through the ekklesia. As this revelation unfolds, everything will change. We are about to move into an outpouring of Holy Spirit that, for the first time since the book of Acts, involves a full expression of the five-fold nature of Jesus—apostle, prophet, evangelist, pastor and teacher. All of these are about to be manifested through the church. I suspect that Satan has a migraine.
"And it will be that, afterwards, I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh; then your sons and your daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, and your young men will see visions. Even on the menservants and maidservants in those days I will pour out My Spirit" (Joel 2:28-29).
Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:
  • Shout and praise, because when you live a fully sold-out life in Christ, you are giving Satan a migraine!
  • Call forth the apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers and pray that they would fully operate together for the sake of kingdom advancement!
  • Pray for the full power-filled expression of these leadership gifts! Ask Him to increase any manifestations of these grace gifts in you!
  • Pray for a John 16 unity in the ekklesia that couples the gifts with the power of love for one another and ka-boom! Power explosion coming to America and the earth!
A prayer you can pray:
God, I shout my praises to You, for You are worthy of them! Hallelujah! Thank You, Jesus! To God be the glory and honor and majesty! Kingdom of God, come! Cause the apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers to come forth out of their preparation places. It's time to work together in the beauty of unity, so the reality of Jesus is seen in the U.S. and all around the world! Increase my own anointing and perfectly fit the gifts you've given me into the plan You have for my area to see Jesus! Amen.
Today's decree:
I decree that God is pouring out an end-times anointing on His Church to prophesy, dream dreams, see visions and reap a harvest that will cause the enemy no end of angst!

Let's Trade Our Titles for True Humility - J. LEE GRADY CHARISMA NEWS

Today it seems we've developed a title fetish. (Edited by J. Lee Grady)

Let's Trade Our Titles for True Humility

J. LEE GRADY  CHARISMA NEWS
Last week when I was preaching in the nation of Iceland, I befriended three young foreign students from Africa who were visiting our conference near Reykjavik. I noticed these guys were sitting in the back of the auditorium, so I invited them to sit with me up front. They later admitted to me that I was the first preacher they'd ever met who greeted people before a service.
"In my country, most preachers come into the auditorium after the worship, and they don't speak to anyone," one of the brothers told me.
When I told these brothers they could call me Lee, they were shocked. They expected me to demand a long-winded ecclesiastical title.
I'm often asked if I have a title, and my answer doesn't satisfy some people. I don't consider myself a pastor because I travel so much. All kinds of labels have been pinned on me: reverend, prophet, apostle, even bishop.
Once I was introduced to a church as "Dr. Grady," and I almost crawled under my seat. I only have a college degree. There are no letters after my name.
Today it seems we've developed a title fetish. For a while everyone in charismatic circles was becoming a bishop, and some were installed into this office with rings, robes and funny-looking hats. Then the same guys with the pointy hats started calling themselves apostles. Then the prophets got jealous and started calling themselves apostles too! I knew one lady who, not to be outdone, required people to call her "exalted prophetess."
Now the latest fad is requiring church folks to address certain people as apostles. As in, "When apostle Holy Moly arrives, please only address him as, 'apostle,' and then make sure he is seated in a private room while his two 'armor bearers,' wearing dark glasses, guard his door." I know of one popular preacher who sends his hosts a letter explaining that he must be called "apostle" anytime his name is used from the stage!
Some of these title-seekers have even invented an elaborate theology to go along with their ridiculous rule. They say you can't receive the true anointing from a man of God if you don't honor him with his right title.
Sounds so very oooh-oooh spiritual to the naive. But it's charismatic garbage.
Jesus didn't play this religious game, especially when he was around the grand poobahs of His day—the long-robed, nose-in-the-air scribes and Pharisees. After accusing them of loving the best seats in the synagogues, He pointed out that they loved to be called "Rabbi" by men (see Matt. 23:7).
Then He warned them: "But do not be called 'Rabbi,' for you have one Teacher, the Christ, and you are all brothers ... For he who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted" (Matt. 23:8,12).
People have quibbled over these words for centuries, insisting that pride is what Jesus was rebuking, not titles. I would agree that Jesus was going to the root sin. But He was also asking these guys if they'd be willing to ditch their labels and act like normal people.
When I was in China several years ago, I met some amazing leaders who had planted thousands of congregations. They had also spent a lot of time in jail for their faith, and they'd been beaten with iron rods for preaching the gospel. They were the bravest apostles I've ever met.
But when I asked them if they used "apostle" as a title, one guy said: "We believe in those roles in the church. But we prefer to call each other 'brother' or 'sister.'"
That settled the issue for me.
If these Chinese giants of the faith—and true apostles—don't require to be addressed with titles, then Your Worshipful Grand Master Rev. Dr. Bishop Big Deal Jones who claims oversight of maybe four churches shouldn't wear his ministry role around his neck like a tacky neon name badge.
If people can't see the anointing on your life through your character, then don't cheapen the gospel by wearing a title you don't deserve.
I'm not saying people shouldn't use reverend, minister or even bishop to identify their roles in the church. One of my mentors is a bishop, and he is one of the most humble men I know. But can we please dispense with the insecurity and the childish "I'm more important than you" appellations and get back to the simplicity of the gospel? Let's get over ourselves!
Jesus is the King of kings, the Lord of lords, the Son of David, the Prince of Peace and the Apostle of our Confession. Yet when He came into this world, He laid aside His heavenly glory and took on the lowly name of Jesus. He wore no fancy robes. He demanded no titles. He had no "armor bearers." He even bore His own cross until He was too weak to drag it to Calvary.
If we want to serve Jesus honorably, we must forsake our need for fame and cast our crowns at His feet.

Christians Under Fire for Recognizing Five-Fold Apostle-Prophet

Christians Under Fire for Recognizing Five-Fold Apostle-Prophet

This flyer invited Christians to participate in a memorial ceremony on 16 August to commemorate the late Pastor Fazal Masih, referred to as the one 'who was given the title of an apostle'. The flyer also carries pictures of 15 office-bearers of the "Biblical Church of God", a small, little-known Protestant group in Gujrat.
This flier invited Christians to participate in a memorial ceremony on Aug. 16 to commemorate the late Pastor Fazal Masih, referred to as the one 'who was given the title of an apostle.' Join us on our new podcast each weekday for an interesting story, well told, from Charisma News. Listen at charismapodcastnetwork.com.

Pakistani police have charged 15 Christians with blasphemy in the religiously conservative city of Gujrat for publishing a flier that described a Christian pastor, who died 20 years ago, as one "who was given the title of an apostle."
The word "apostle" is translated in the Urdu Bible as "rasool." Although the title "prophet" is usually translated into Urdu by the Arabic-root "nabi," "rasool" can also carry the same meaning.
The claim of "apostleship" or "prophet-hood" is perceived as an open insult and challenge to the Prophet of Islam, Muhammad. Muslims believe he is Allah's last and final apostle and prophet, after whom prophecy ceased. Therefore any countering claim is considered blasphemous and, according to Pakistan's blasphemy law, may be punishable with death.
The Catholic news agency, Fides, reported that during the recent Ramadan, in early July, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif approved a summary prohibiting the English translation of Islamic terms. Sacred Arabic names and words like "Allah," "masjid," "sala'at" and "rasool," it reported, "are now forbidden to be translated into English as 'God,' 'mosque,' 'prayer' and 'prophet' ... The Prime Minister's announcement came a day before the anniversary of the coup of General Zia ul Haq in 1977, when a number of laws were issued to Islamize the country."
In Gujrat, which is in the Punjab region, the flier, an invitation to Christians to participate in a memorial ceremony on Aug. 16 to commemorate the late Pastor Fazal Masih, carried pictures of 15 office-bearers of the "Biblical Church of God," a small, little-known Protestant group working in Gujrat city.
A Pakistani commentator explained to World Watch Monitor: "The flier's language looks like it's been copied from the Internet. It's language that may be more acceptable in countries where Christianity has more freedom. It suggests that the late pastor practiced the gifts of the Holy Spirit and had a prophetic gift. However this is a concept that does not translate easily in an Islamic context."
The flyers were placed across the city in the areas where Christians are in a higher number, such as Mughal Colony, where the dead man's son, Younatan Fazal Gill, lived. He was one of the organizers of the program.
"There are about 200 households of Christians who have reasonable means of earning, and also have their own houses," Mukhtar Mughal Khan, a Christian political leader and former local councilor, told World Watch Monitor.
"Only three days before the announced date of the program, first a Muslim woman and then Umar Butt, a shopkeeper, noticed that the flier used the word 'apostle' for a Christian.
"There are people who say Umar Butt enquired of Younatan's brother-in-law, Imran Masih, about the title of 'apostle.' Imran told him that Christians could use this "biblical" description, after which the situation escalated.
"On Aug. 15, it was announced from the loudspeaker of a local mosque that all Muslims should gather to discuss this issue. The police of the Civil Lines were also called in.
"After the meeting, the police searched Christian neighbourhoods and removed all the fliers. And when the organizers of the program were preparing to gather the next day, the police arrested some of them."
The police of Civil Lines registered a case (numbered 972/15) under the Anti-Terrorism Act of 2001. This was an unusual move because it did not allow for a local citizen to lodge the application, nor was the case registered under the blasphemy laws of Pakistan.
"The situation got tense, even though there was no untoward incident, so Christians started to leave the area," said Khan.
A Christian health visitor, Roseanna Masih, told World Watch Monitor that two women living across the street from her started name-calling: "They said Christians had blasphemed the Holy Prophet and that they should be punished for it. I told them that anyone who had done wrong should be punished, but why should all of us be treated with contempt?"
"On Friday, Aug. 21, Christians were expecting that after Friday prayers extremist Muslims would attack their houses, so almost all their women and children were sent away while only men were left their to guard their houses," said Khan. He said that there were about 500 houses in the Mughal Colony and about 200 households were of Christians.
"The police cordoned off the area and the Deputy Police Officer, Ghulam Mustafa, and Civil Lines Police Station House Officer, Shahid Tanveer, played a wonderful role and did not let any unpleasant incident take place," said Khan.
Police Officer Tanveer later told World Watch Monitor that the situation was under control and that there was no law and order situation in the area.
"However, the police arrested Pastor Aftab Gill, another son of the deceased pastor, and three others, while Younatan has obtained bail," said Khan.
Similar Cases
This is not the first time a Christian has been accused of blasphemy because of biblical interpretation or translation. Almost exactly a year ago, on Aug. 23 in Bahawalpur, about 450 kilometres from Lahore, 60-year-old Naja Masih was sitting outside his home with his neighbour, Shahid Mehmood, discussing similarities between the Bible and the Quran, after which Masih was charged and immediately handed to the police.
In his First Information Report (FIR), submitted in the Civil Lines Police Station, Mehmood stated that Masih told him "God Himself took human form—God forbid—and appeared to Lot, and told him to leave his village." Mehmood further alleged that Masih had injured his religious feelings, by saying that when Lot had fled Sodom along with his daughters, his daughters "intoxicated" him and slept with him to continue their father's lineage.
In another case, a Christian man named Anwar Kenneth was arrested and charged under the blasphemy law. He claimed he was one of the two promised witnesses to Jesus (interpreted as Elijah and Moses) in the last book of the Bible (Rev. 11) but was believed to be mentally ill. However, he was sentenced to death in 2002 and since then his appeal has not been heard by the Supreme Court.
