Breathtaking revelation: Israel’s Mossad operated covert drone base within Iran, struck targets from inside the country
Mossad smuggled several weapon systems into Iran which participated in attack
The Israeli foreign intelligence service, Mossad, participated in the overnight strikes against the Iranian regime by activating covert units operating within the country on Friday morning, according to a briefing by an Israeli security source.
The source revealed that the Mossad conducted three major operations to assist the broader strikes against the Iranian regime, all of which were prepared over the past years by infiltrating and hiding weapon systems within Iranian territory.
When the Israeli Air Force began striking Iranian leaders, nuclear sites, and military installations, the Mossad’s covert infrastructure sprang into action.
The focus of the years-long intelligence preparations by the Mossad and the IDF was to prepare detailed files that would allow the quick elimination of large parts of the Iranian ballistic missile and air defense systems.
The entire operation required "groundbreaking thinking, bold planning and surgical operation of advanced technologies, special forces and agents operating in the heart of Iran while completely evading the eyes of local intelligence," the military source told Ynet News.
In what may be the most shocking operation, the source revealed that the Mossad established a secret drone base within Iranian territory.
When the Israeli offensive began, the drones were launched to destroy surface-to-surface missile launchers (SSM) located at a base near Tehran, which was planned to be used to destroy strategic and civilian targets in Israel as part of the Iranian retaliation.
The reported operation is reminiscent of a Ukrainian intelligence operation last week, in which the Ukrainian intelligence smuggled drones into Russia before launching them at strategic bombers deep within the country.
In another operation, Mossad commando teams deployed operational systems of precision-guided munitions in open areas in central Iran, which had been smuggled into the country beforehand.
The weapons were deployed near Iranian surface-to-air missile (SAM) systems, which could potentially threaten Israeli aircraft.
When the Israeli offensive began, these weapons were activated, launching precise missiles at several targets and eliminating the threat to Israel’s Air Force.
Lastly, in another operation aiming to guarantee Israel’s freedom of action in Iranian skies, the Mossad deployed “sophisticated attack systems” and “vehicle-born technologies” which were used to destroy Iranian air defense systems.
The mention of “vehicle-born” weapons could be connected to unconfirmed reports that a similar system had been used by Israel to kill the top nuclear scientist Mohsen Fakhrizadeh in 2020.
At the time, reports suggested he was killed by a remote-controlled machine gun mounted on a pickup truck.
"This is Israel's Jericho wall against a regime that has also financed and directed Hamas and Hezbollah in recent months to militarily rehabilitate them and recreate October 7, and this time not only from Gaza," the source concluded.
"The achievement is greater than a surprise attack because here there was no surprise – the Iranians also knew and heard about the upcoming attack, prepared and still suffered a major blow, which is only in its beginning," he added.
