Blessed Man - Now Think On This by Steve Martin

Blessed Man
Now Think On This
Steve Martin

‘Tis a blessed man of God I am;
So much of life I have to share.
Salvation came from my Lord above,
Now known by Him - my every hair.

When but a lad of five or so,
When Jesus came into my heart;
A Catholic boy in Iowa’s glow,
He’s blessed me from the very start.

Columbus High was where I went,
An education for life to come.
My teachers gave, and then was sent
To seek the Lord, and then some.

My wife to be was but a teen,
I had to wait for her - as us.
October’s light that 8th was seen,
No worries Mom, don’t make a fuss!

Soon came forth the quiver full,
With Josh and Ben to start.
Then Hannah, Christen – there ain’t no lull!
A family now will never part.

First Derek, then Mahesh and Bonnie served;
Then came Barry & Batya - both Jews.
My fruitful work, for Him deserved,
Eternal reward – now that’s Good News!

I bless Chelsie, Andrew, Jonathan. When?
Spouses for my kids they are;
Plus Daniel, Logan, Dylan, Jensen,
Jack, Payton and Levi - by far!

Continues on my life these days,
To know His will and walk therein.
A blessed man in all His ways,
I love my Lord. Thus all for Him.

THANK YOU YESHUA (JESUS)!

And I love you too,

"And Hannah Prayed" ✡ Incredible Site Where Hannah Stood & Prayed!

And Hannah prayed and said: "My heart has rejoiced through the Lord; My horn has been raised by the Lord. My mouth is opened wide against my enemies, For I have rejoiced in Your salvation."

Today's Israel Inspiration

On Rosh Hashana we read the story of the birth of the prophet Samuel to Hannah, who had been childless for many years. During one of her annual pilgrimages to Shiloh, the site of the Tabernacle, Hannah entreated God to bless her with a son, promising to dedicate him to His service. In Hannah’s prayer, she thanks God for granting her wish and praises His greatness. Last week the ancient prayers of Hannah were brought back to life in an inspiring women's prayer event held at the very site where Hannah once stood! The ancient city of Shiloh has been revived, but its residents have suffered a disproportionate number of terror attacks for living in this beloved Land close to Arab neighbors. Help heal the trauma of terrorism in the lives of innocent children who have lost loved ones or witnessed the horror of terrorism first-hand.

The Jews & Israel Go Way Back

Watch this clever animated video about the right of the Jews to the Land of Israel. A great reminder of Who is actually running the show (and it's not politicians!).

Modern and Ancient Collide
in Israel

Which other nation in the world can boast a city first established by the biblical Joshua 3,500 years ago, which is now thriving with visitors from all ages and walks of life? Only in Israel!

Four Species Sukkot Set

The Four Species, or "arba'a minim" in Hebrew, are four different plants native to Israel. They are used in an obligatory rite during the Festival of Tabernacles, or Sukkot, which is coming up in just a couple of weeks! The species are held together and shaken in six different directions, east, south, west, north, upward, and downward, in acknowledgment of divine dominion over nature. This year, order your Four Species directly from an Israeli farmer!

Today's Israel Photo

Women gathered last week to pray at the very site where Hannah once poured her heart out to God at the Tabernacle in Shiloh! The colorful banners bear the names of the Twelve Tribes of Israel, who assembled in Shiloh to receive their inheritance of the Land from Joshua (Joshua 18:10).

"To Shiloh" ✡ Israeli Song against Terror

And she [Hannah] brought him to the house of the Lord, to Shiloh, and the child was young.

I SAMUEL (1:24)

שמואל א א:כד

Today's Israel Inspiration

When Hannah and her husband Elkanah made their pilgrimages to Shiloh where the Tabernacle once stood, they took different routes each time so as to encourage others to join them in serving God. In this way, the righteous pair guided and encouraged the Children of Israel. "Meir Panim" (Hebrew for "lighting up faces") is also taking a different route this summer, going beyond its traditional food programs to help needy children. With highly subsidized day camps, Meir Panim gets children off the street and into safe and nurturing camp programs for the long summer days.

An Israeli teacher found that the best way to deal with "code red" sirens was through this amazing, upbeat song.

The Temple, which once stood on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem, is the holiest site in Judaism and one of the most important spiritual sites for all of mankind. The Site of the Tabernacle When the Israelites Arrived in the Holy Land

Before There Was Jerusalem, There Was Shiloh
-- The Site of the Tabernacle When the Israelites Arrived in the Holy Land

Interior of old Temple at Shiloh (1908, Library of Congress).
The building is now closed. And the whole congregation of the children of Israel assembled themselves together at Shiloh, and set up the Tabernacle there, and the land was subdued before them. (Joshua 18:1)

When Joshua brought the children of Israel across the Jordan River he was really leading a new nation, born in Egypt and Sinai but forged for 40 years in the furnace of the desert.

Their journey had started hundreds of years earlier when Jacob's sons, grazing their flocks near Shechem (Nablus), sold Joseph into slavery in Egypt. Their descendants returned to the same area in Samaria bearing Joseph's body for burial in Shechem. They chose the nearby village of Shiloh as the resting place for the Tabernacle which housed altars, the menorah, the ark of the Covenant and more.

Ruins of Shiloh (circa 1910, Library of Congress)

There the Tabernacle would remain for almost 400 years, the place for pilgrimages and sacrifices. In Shiloh, Joshua drew lots to divide up the land among the Israelite tribes. Eli the High Priest officiated.

A woman named Hannah came to Shiloh to pray for a son and promised he would serve the Lord if he was born. Samuel was born to Hannah. He served in the Tabernacle and was the prophet who anointed Saul and then David as kings. David shifted his capital first to Hebron and then to Jerusalem.

Archaeologists today have little doubt that the area known as Sailun was the location of biblical Shiloh. Evidence

Tourists/pilgrims at Shiloh (1891, with permission of the
  synagogues, churches and mosques can be found there.

In the Talmudic period and the Middle Ages Shiloh was a destination for pilgrims.

We recently discovered online an antique book, "A Month in Palestine and Syria, April 1891," posted by the New Boston Fine and Rare Books. The book includes a travelogue and several dozen photographs of tourists and pilgrims. They also visited Shiloh.

Unfortunately, the antique book shop does not know the name of the photographer or author. We would welcome suggestions from our readers.

Today, religious pilgrims are usually found in the south, in a place called Jerusalem.
