National Day of Prayer Held - CBN News
'We Are a Praying Nation': America's Leaders Gather for 75th National Day of Prayer
WASHINGTON, D.C. - From churches to the Capitol, on Thursday, Americans across the country celebrated the 75th National Day of Prayer. This year's them was, "Glorify God Among the Nations, Seeking Him in All Generations."
The tradition of celebrating a National Day of Prayer was established by Congress in 1952. This year's event comes as America prepares to celebrate its 250th anniversary.
"We are a praying nation, we always have been. It truly is part of who we are," said House Speaker Mike Johnson at Thursday's gathering.

He went on to say, America's faith foundations are part of what make the country unique.
"We boldly proclaimed the self-evident truth, that our rights do not come from government, they come from God himself," said Johnson.
Housing and Urban Development Secretary Scott Turner spoke about the role of God in American history.
"Look at how many storms God has led us through over the last two and a half centuries. A War of Independence, we won against all odds, a destructive Civil War, the Great Depression, two World Wars, a decades-long Cold War against communism, and more," Turner said.
In a statement recognizing the day, President Donald Trump recommitted the nation to God, writing: "We pledge that America will always, as it is written in Psalm 96, 'Tell His glory among the nations'—and that we will never forget God's role in creating, protecting, and sustaining the freest, strongest, most prosperous, and greatest country the world has ever known."
This year's National Day of Prayer also sets the stage for "Rededicate 250," an event planned for the National Mall, ahead of America's 250th birthday, featuring scripture, testimony, prayer, and a national rededication of the country as One Nation Under God.

Days To Remember
My wonderful wife, Laurie Martin
Days To Remember To Honor
Important days and occasions to annually remember, which honors the honorable, is a must for men and boys. As we show appreciation for the ones who have “been there, done that” on our behalf, we are showing thankfulness for who they are and sharing a reflection of God’s love.
Especially for birthdays, Father’s Day, Mother’s Day, marriage anniversaries, and any extra time you want to do so – bless those who have given themselves to see you grow and mature. Show thankfulness and esteem for their life.
When we honor those we respect, it is honoring the Father Himself, who has given us these special people in our lives.
“Honor your father and mother (which is the first commandment with a promise),” Ephesians 6:2 NASB
“Honor your father and your mother, so that your days may be prolonged on the land which the Lord your God gives you.” Exodus 20:12, NASB
My own mother once told me, when I was a teenager, that for their wedding anniversary, it meant a lot to her when Dad blessed her, more so than us kids.
But what really blessed her was when her children blessed and honored her on Mother’s Day.
When you remember, honor, and make a special deal out of blessing another, you are indeed blessing the Lord who Himself established this important concept and days.
So…remember to honor others on their special days!

Joni Lamb, President of Daystar, passes away at 65. CBN News

Daystar President Joni Lamb Passes on to Her Heavenly Home
The Daystar TV ministry has announced that its President and co-founder, Joni Lamb, has gone home to be with the Lord. She was 65 years old.
The ministry reveals that Joni had been having a serious, private health struggle that was recently made worse by a back injury.
"The back injury compounded those challenges and led to a more serious medical situation than anyone anticipated. Despite the dedicated efforts of her medical team and the prayers of so many around the world, her condition worsened in the last few days," the ministry revealed in a statement.
Joni was married for 39 years to her first husband, Marcus, co-founder of the ministry. He passed away in 2021 after the couple had spent more than three decades working to broadcast God's message of salvation around the world. She remarried in 2023 to Dr. Doug Weiss, who joined her as a co-host on Daystar.
Daystar says its ministry will continue because Joni had worked out a succession plan with her board, stating, "We will keep broadcasting the Gospel of Jesus Christ to every nation, alongside you."
Paula White-Cain also confirmed the news of her friend's passing, writing on her social media, "Today a General for the kingdom, a pioneer, a worldwide evangelist and MY FRIEND went to be with The Lord. With tears in my eyes .. I will miss you @jonilamb .. and I know you are in the Presence of God.. fully perfected .. You finished your course."
Joni is survived by her husband Doug, as well as her three children—Jonathan, Rachel, and Rebecca, and their families.
Please pray for the Lamb family. They have asked for prayers and privacy in the days ahead.

Israel was never meant to be a safe haven. It was meant to be a light unto the nations. Israel365

Rabbi Lavie writes that the current war has created a shift in Israel’s essential role, changing it from a post-Holocaust safe-haven and moving it towards its sacred purpose as a moral and spiritual leader of the nations.

When Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu launched Operation Sha’agat HaAri, “The Lion’s Roar”, against Iran, he broke with every standard script Israel has used to explain itself to the world for the past seventy years.
He did not merely promise to eliminate the nuclear threat hanging over Israeli cities. He declared, before a watching world: “We will create conditions that will allow the brave Iranian people to throw off the yoke of this murderous regime.”
Then he added four words that reverberated far beyond any military briefing room: “This is a campaign for humanity.”
