Maoz Israel Report - February 2019 Ari and Shira Sorko-Ram

Preparing Israeli Youth for Spiritual Survival in the Army
By Joel Goldberg
When I entered the army in the late eighties, there were very few Messianic believers serving in the IDF. I was part of the Golani Infantry Brigade, another guy was in the paratroopers and another in the Givati Infantry—we were scattered across the army.

Eliezer Ben Yehuda Meets Theodore Herzl
(Part 5)
By Shira Sorko-Ram
Believe it or not, Eliezer Ben Yehuda had very little success with spreading the Hebrew language during his first 20 years in Jerusalem. Maoz Israel Report - top 3 articles of 2018 - Ari and Shira Sorko-Ram

In case you missed them, or would like to read them again, here are the top 3 Maoz Israel Report articles our readersraved about the most in 2018
JERUSALEM IS THE CAPITAL OF ISRAEL
Shira Sorko-Ram examines the significance of the United States’ decision to move the U.S. Embassy from Tel Aviv and officially recognize Jerusalem as the eternal capital of Israel.
ISRAEL’S MOST CONTROVERSIAL FILM:
“A NEW SPIRIT”
For the first time in the history of modern Israel, a faith-based film on Yeshua the Messiah has been produced and premiered in theaters across Israel. “A New Spirit” tells the true story of Yacov Damkani, once a local gangster from a poverty-stricken town in Israel, who fled to the United States and was introduced to Yeshua as his Messiah.
EVANGELICALS AND ISRAEL
This article by Itzhak Rabihiya is the most positive article I’ve ever seen in the Israeli mainstream press about Messianic Jews. Messianic Jews, usually lumped in by Israeli culture with Catholics or apostate Jews, are recognized here as a positive force for Israel on a national level.
