Here is an incredible lesson from the holy language of Hebrew. The word "shofar" comes from the word לשפר - le-sha-FAYR - which means "to improve." The sound of the shofar awakens us to beautify our deeds as we strive to improve ourselves. May we merit to come closer to the final days of redemption when the shofar's sound will be heard throughout the Land. Start practicing your shofar call with our amazing sale on authentic shofars!

There are many people who don’t understand what the loss of the Temple is all about. We have therefore published a special Israel365 commentary on the Book of Lamentations that explains not only the devastating loss of the Temple, but how all Jewish tragedies and suffering throughout the generations, including the Holocaust, are deeply linked to the Temple in Jerusalem and the 9th of Av, which falls out this year on August 14th.

This is the first time I received an email from you. I can see the seriousness of it and the fun... laughing is healing it lightens the eyes and the heart and opens you to God's love! Thats where the healing and joy lives. I'm in South Africa. These days we have little to laugh about... but we do not lose our joy as our God - the God of Abraham, Isaac and Israel is upon His throne and rules sovereignly and supremely. If we don't believe that, there's little to bring joy to out hearts. I can smile because our God reigns!!! Madelein, South Africa
Thank you so much. We love the Jewish people.- Donald Starr |
