Batman Meets Moses as Hollywood Goes Biblical (VIDEO)

Batman Meets Moses as Hollywood Goes Biblical (VIDEO)

“She named him Moses, ‘Because,’ she said, ‘I drew him out of the water.’” (Exodus 2:10)
In a continuing trend of Hollywood epic movies of biblical proportions and themes, a new movie entitled “Exodus: God and Kings,” is set to be released in December.
Like the other Biblical movie that was recently released, “Noah”, one of the main attractions will be the use of dazzling special effects to highlight the famous story of the Jewish exodus from Egypt.
In a similar style to the more famous exodus story starring Charlton Heston as Moses, “The Ten Commandments,” Christian Bale will be playing God’s messenger in the upcoming adaption.
The Hollywood star, who got his start in the TV movie “Anastasia: The Mystery of Anna” back in 1986, and swept away our hearts with his portrayal of Jack Kelly in “Newsies”, is most recently known for his portrayal of the Dark Knight in Christopher Nolan’s “Batman” trilogy.

At a recent preview of the movie, Bale told the audience, “You can’t out Heston Charlton Heston”. He emphasized that this retelling of the biblical story will be “very different” from previous versions of the tale, according to Variety Magazine. Bale said that his portrayal of Moses will focus on the complex aspects of the character, stating that Moses was a troubled and tumultuous man.
The movie, directed by Ridley-Scott, presents the story complete with big battle scenes and aerial panoramas of ancient cities, rustic settlements and military camp, all rendered in the new technologically available 3D CGI glory.
According to insiders who have already previewed the movie, the footage really shifted into high gear with the depiction of four of the 10 plagues. More may be present in the film, but only four were depicted in the preview.

The Great Deception in the American Church - BERT M. FARIAS- CHARISMA MAGAZINE

deception

What's at the root of the deception in the American church?

The Great Deception in the American Church

Either way, these numbers are high. Seventy-seven percent believe their chances of going to heaven are excellent. Thirty-three percent believe one day everyone will go to heaven. Yet America has the highest percentage of single-parent families in the industrialized world, the highest abortion rate, the highest rate of sexually transmitted diseases, the highest rate of teenage birth by far, the highest rate of teenage drug use and the largest prison population per capita than any country in the world.
Consider also the great moral decline of the last generation (50 to 60 years) and these telling statistics in America. The divorce rate has doubled, teen suicide has tripled, reported violent crime has quadrupled, the prison population has quintupled, the percentage of babies born out of wedlock has risen sixfold, couples living together out of wedlock have increased sevenfold, and gay marriage is now a legalized reality in a number of states, with many believing the end is not in sight.
In this past generation, we have experienced an overwhelming increase in lawlessness, permissiveness and selfishness, even among Christians. Moral actions that were unthinkable a few decades ago are now commonplace—Christian leaders indulging in sexual sin and grossly immoral scandals, addicted to pornography and accompanied by an exploding divorce rate have greatly factored in the rapid decrease of morals in the American church. And as the church goes, so goes the world. In fact, the results of a survey among young American adults showed that the percentage who follow biblically based values for living has now dropped from 65 percent to a mere 4 percent since World War II.
There has never been a society in the history of mankind whose moral values have deteriorated so dramatically, in such a short period of time, as those of Americans in the last 50 years. And so far it shows no sign of stopping. These statistics are eye-opening, and they serve to warn us that something is terribly wrong with our brand of Christianity. They reveal how poorly the church has communicated the true gospel to mainstream America, and thus the reason for so much deception in our culture.
When the rich man died and went to Hades (Luke 16:19-31), he was surprised to find himself there. In the Jewish culture, they equated wealth with godliness, so this man thought God favored him. The common thought, especially among the Jews, was if you were blessed financially, then you were a good person and therefore favored by God and on your way to heaven. This also explains the disciples' astonishment when Jesus told them how hard it is for the rich to enter the kingdom of heaven (Matt. 19:23-25).
Similarly, there was a church in Laodicea (Rev 3:14-22) who, due to their wealth, thought they too had attained God's favor. Jesus expressed great disapproval over their spiritual condition as well, which they were totally unaware of. They were deceived.
Are you in touch with your true spiritual condition? Or are you allowing the pop culture around you to dictate your standards? Are you conforming to the world's standards or to the Bible? Are you deceived? How can a nation of people among whom a large percentage claims to be born-again Christians experience the kind of degradation the above statistics reveal? Such deception is the state of America today, and the above statistics reveal the fruit of it.
The problem has been that the real gospel has not been preached nor lived. Both the profession and the practice of many so-called Christians in this nation have not matched up. Our substandard message has produced substandard believers. Our departure from the preaching of the cross, repentance, holiness, and the real empowering grace of God has increased the level of deception in the church. How else can we explain the disparity of the above statistics in the church and the nation?
But what is really at the root of this deception? This is what we need to carefully discern. In one word, it is humanism—the glorification of self. Humanism has crept into much of the modern-day church and is diluting the power of the real gospel.

Egypt Demands Compensation for 10 Plagues - ISRAEL TODAY

Egypt Demands Compensation for 10 Plagues

Friday, April 11, 2014 |  Israel Today Staff
“We demand that the State of Israel pay compensation for the ten plagues that our forefathers in Egypt suffered thousands of years ago as a result of the curses of the Jewish forefathers.” So wrote prominent Egyptian columnist Ahmad Al-Gamal shortly before the Jewish Passover, causing a great stir.
“What is written in the Torah is that Pharaoh discriminated against the children of Israel. What have we to do with it? We therefore need not suffer!” exclaimed Al-Gamal, drawing a clear difference between the Egyptian kingdom of the Pharaohs and Islamic Egypt of today. Islam accepts the biblical narrative as historical evidence.
The columnist suggested that the government in Cairo press charges against Israel: “The Jews caused the land to be stricken with locusts and all agriculture destroyed, turned the Nile red with blood so that one could drink its waters, sent darkness, frogs and killed the firstborn.”
Al-Gamal continued: “During 40 years of wandering in the desert, the Children of Israel enjoyed our goods, which they stole before abandoning us.” He also recommended that Egypt bring charges against France, Great Britain and Turkey for those nations’ historical conquests of Egypt.
The Egyptian column was picked up by the Israeli press, especially religious news outlets, which readily acknowledged all that Al-Gamal wrote as historical fact. Some Israeli columnists retorted that Egypt need first compensate Israel for keeping the Jewish forefathers as slaves and for killing all male Jewish babies in the generation prior to the Exodus.

Implanted Chip Coming for Mark of the Beast? - CBN News

Implanted chip coming?

RFID Opening Doors
for Mark of the Beast?
By Mark Martin
CBN News Reporter, Thursday, April 03, 2014

Mark Martin is a reporter and anchor at CBN News, covering various issues from military matters to alternative fuels. Mark has reported internationally in the Middle East and traveled to Bahrain to cover stories on the U.S.S. Dwight D. Eisenhower. It's been called a "bar code on steroids." Radio Frequency Identification identifies people or things and transmits information through microchips.

Is it all about convenience, or are there biblical implications?

Thrilling Convenience

A banner at the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions Expo, or IAAPA as it is known, reads "Prepare to be thrilled!" And if you're into amusement parks, the expo is the place to be.

Each year, theme park entertainment grows more exciting and cutting edge, like the Tru-Trackless Ride Systems.

From trackless to cashless, the operators described the latest ways to make the park experience more convenient for customers and employees.

That includes RFID.

"We're going to have the ability to do it through an RFID chip," Megan Morrow, with the company Core Cashless, an exhibitor at IAAPA, said. "So it would be as simple as walking up, tapping your card to accept that form of payment on the system."

"RFID technology can sense when either a certain device... or if that device is on a person, where they are, what they're doing, and depending on how you want to use it, it can help with things like data collection," Patrick Frickleton, also with Core Cashless, explained.

How It Works

RFID uses radio waves to transmit information at a distance. A microchip in an RFID tag contains unique identification numbers.

Tom Foster, who works for Precision Dynamics Corporation, said the organization pioneered the technology around the turn of the century.

"We use a passive chip, which means there's no battery, so it lays dormant on your wrist until it comes in contact with an RFID reader," Foster explained.

Companies like PDC, which produce RFID products, say the technology helps with areas such as access control, keyless entry, and cashless point of sale.

Precision Dynamics developed the first kiosk that dispenses and encodes RFID wristbands for amusement park purchases. It's like a wallet on your wrist.

"You simply have the ability to spend," PDC sales manager Greg Cetera said. "Here, again, RFID is going to drive sales."

Convenience vs. Privacy

It raises a number of questions, however, like what about privacy? And can the information on that wristband be stolen?

"With the RFID technology, we're not tracking anybody," Foster said. "There's a two- to three-inch read range required to be able to read that information on the tag, and if you can read that information on the tag, there's nothing you can do with that information because everything is encrypted also on the back-end server."

That may be the case with the wristbands, but consumer privacy expert Dr. Katherine Albrecht is concerned about RFID technology in general and what the future holds.

Katherine Albrecht

"They want RFID tags in your refrigerator, in the objects that you buy, and ultimately, as Dr. Katina Michael is making so clear, they want these tags in us," Albrecht shared on her nationally syndicated radio show.

"We're using radio frequency to identify things and transmit information all the time nowadays," Albrecht said. "I think what is coming next, though, is what the marketers and developers of this technology call the 'Internet of Things.' This idea is that every physical object would have its own equivalent of an IP address encoded into the microchip."

She said their goal is to track the consumer's habits.

Mark of the Beast

Beyond the privacy concerns, Albrecht said RFID technology carries biblical implications, with hobbyists embedding microchips into their flesh.

"There will be a time when humanity will be forced to take a mark, and that mark will be on the right hand or the forehead," said Albrecht, referring to Revelation 13:16-18. "It is the number 666; we're told to pay attention and look out for that, and people who do not take that mark, of course, will not be able to buy or sell."

"Some people say RFID will be the mark of the beast because it can be a mark in your hand that you can transmit," Albrecht added.

"If it isn't, and it may well not be; there may well be something that comes next beyond that to become, to fulfill that biblical prophecy, but every one of those steps was getting us closer to that end destination," she said.

Radio isn't the only way that she is getting her message out about the dangers of RFID technology and what it can lead to. She's also a best-selling author, writing books for both adults and children.

Caution Against Blind Acceptance

Albrecht has devoted a decade to studying RFID.

One result of her research is the book, Spychips: How Major Corporations and Government Plan to Track Your Every Move with RFID.

She especially wants to reach younger readers with her book I Won't Take the Mark, a Bible Book and Contract for Children to help kids understand the book of Revelation.

"I am stunned at the number of people who have gone to VBS and summer camp and Bible school and Sunday school, and they've never even heard of the mark of the beast," Albrecht said. "The churches aren't preaching it; they're not discussing it."

"There's an embarrassment factor about this, which is ironic because throughout all of history, it's been a huge topic," she continued. "Now that we're actually seeing these technologies develop before our eyes, no one wants to talk about them."

Albrecht is working to change that, wanting people to think before blindly accepting new tracking technology.

4 Ways to Tell If Your Dream Is From God - Audrey Lee

4 Ways to Tell If Your Dream Is From God

horse in clouds
It would be naive and irresponsible to suggest that all spiritual dreams result in a true God connection. Dreamers who mistake their own subconscious thoughts or even demonic influence as divine instruction can make grim and historic mistakes. Recently a woman in a rural village sacrificed her child in the river out of obedience to what she thought was a dream from God. So how can you discern whether a dream is from God?
  1. It’s biblical. Make sure it doesn’t contradict the Bible. Scripture forbids many kinds of spiritism, including sorcery and consulting psychics (see Lev. 19:31, Deut. 18:10-13). It’s a good idea to get counsel from a trusted pastor or Bible teacher.
  2. It’s convicting. “Usually, when you are very in tune with spiritual things, if you have a dream you are convicted by it,” says Abraham Sarker, author of Understand My Muslim People. (See Is. 6:1-6.)
  3. It lingers. Unlike most dreams that fade from memory, a dream from God lingers and might bother you until it fulfills its purpose.
  4. It comes to pass. Many dream conversions are based on testimonies of people whose dreams literally come true, as in the account of Saul and Ananias (Acts 9:10-19). An aid worker tells about a woman in Indochina who cried when she first met the worker’s friend. She recognized the man from a dream she had. In the dream, this man told her he had a message for her. “So she talked with him, and he led her to the Lord,” says the worker. This type of experience is commonly reported in the underground church.

Today’s Israel Inspiration

Today marks International Holocaust Remembrance Day,
and the largest-ever delegation of Knesset members
arrived at Auschwitz this morning to commemorate the
lives of the victims of the inferno.

The impact of the devastation is felt by surviving
generations until today, and in Poland an increasingly
common story is that of grandparents - who were hidden
as children with Christians - revealing the shocking
secret on their deathbeds - that they, and as a result,
their families, are actually Jewish.

'Israel Returns' is a vital lifeline, opening educational
centers in Poland for these newly discovered
descendants seeking to start life anew as Jews.
They are a true testament to the words,
"Am Yisrael Chai!" ("the people of Israel live!")

Return to Zion
Today's Hebrew music video focuses on the survival and
eternity of the Jewish people, and God's promise to return
the exiles to the Land of Israel. Sing along in Hebrew to

Online University Confronts Anti-Israel Bias

JERUSALEM, Israel -- In today's Middle East, it seems that fewer young people stand up for Israel. A new online university hopes to changed that by providing both Jewish and Christian students with a better understanding of the Jewish state.
Israel is under siege at American universities and at campuses around the world.
"Israel really doesn't meet the requirements of a legitimate state," Keren Redleaf, founding member of the Coalition for Palestinian Rights, said.
Now a course from Jerusalem Online University gives students and others the tools to fight back.
"We are trying to give a perspective on not just the history of the ancient modern State of Israel, but also on the biblical, prophetic connection between the modern Jewish people and the Bible, how the ancient history connects with the modern, where it's going," Rabbi Ken Spiro told CBN News.
"The Israel Course, the Biblical, Historical and Modern Perspective," is a seven-part movie course that condenses the history and contribution of the Jewish people.
"We're dealing with such a complex situation and people tend to have very little information on and we know the media can be very, very biased," Spiro said.
Rabbi Ken Spiro, one of the film's creators, says they're taking a holistic approach on politics, religion and philosophy.
"We show one of our movies, "Israel Inside: How a Small Nation Makes a Big Difference," it's such a dynamic, creative, positive force in history, yet why Israel has been, the Jewish [people] have been, the most hated people in human history…."
"When people think about Israel, they think about war or religion or even falafel," Dr. Tal Ben Shahar, filmmaker and former Harvard University lecturer, told CBN News.
The Israel Inside course focuses on modern Israel, its advances and contributions to the world.
"But to me, when I think about Israel, I think about the triumph of the human spirit. Israelis, surrounded by enemies, turned the desert -- with hardly any natural resources -- into a flourishing, caring and productive society," Shahar said.
"In recent years, the Jewish people's connection to the Land of Israel has become somewhat of a contentious issue," Spiro explained. "But in fact every year more and more archaeology is unearthed that clearly demonstrates the Jewish people's connection to the Land of Israel."
Spiro said one of his favorite in the series is "The Edge of History."
"That's about prophecy and the end of days," continued. "It not only gives the whole sweep of what Jewish history is about, but what it focuses on is current events, what's going on now."
The final class teaches students how to stand up effectively on Israel's behalf.
"Every individual has the ability to communicate for Israel, to inspire people about Israel and to educate people about who Israel really is," the film explains.
Spiro believes using truth and little facts about Israel will help people make their own decisions about Israel and the Jewish people.

Israel365 - Do Jews celebrate Thanksgiving?

Shabbat Inspiration

This week's Torah portion (Genesis 37-39) describes
Joseph tending to his sheep. It is no coincidence that
so many of our Biblical heroes were shepherds. The
simple profession was ideal for two reasons.

On the one hand, the abundance of time for quiet reflection
and meditation allowed the shepherd to develop an
intimate relationship with the Lord. Additionally,
shepherds who excelled in their work acquired a deep
sensitivity to the needs of each and every sheep in
his flock.

What he learned as a young shepherd
influenced Joseph to become a paradigm for all future
generations in the service of God and the service
of man.

Do Jews Celebrate Thanksgiving?

As a Jew, I am thankful that when America was discovered,
America discovered the Bible. This year’s once in a lifetime
convergence of Thanksgiving and Hannukah has not only
given us the cute name ‘Thanksgivukah’, but focused
attention on Judaism’s encounter with the great
American holiday.
