Demonic Deception Lurks Behind This Widespread Phenomenon

GARY BATES  CHARISMA NEWS
My book Alien Intrusion: UFOs and the Evolution Connection came out in 2005, and became the only creation-based book to be an Amazon top-50 best-seller. Of course, you might ask, "Why would a Christian write about UFOs?"
I grew up as a science-fiction fan, and I can recall the religious impact it had on me. I dreamed of utopian alien worlds filled with technologically advanced beings that might save the Earth someday. After getting saved in my adult years (in an Assemblies of God church in Western Australia), I started to see things differently. I still love sci-fi, but front and center, I keep in mind the word "fiction," because most people, including Christians, don't recognize the strong evolutionary connection in sci-fi. Life only came about by one of two ways. Either it was created (as the Bible says), or it evolved (and countless times over in the incredibly vast universe). And if aliens evolved long before life evolved on Earth, they could also be millions of years advanced with their technology; building hyperdrive spaceships and so. It's these ideas that permeates most sci-fi today. So, I undertook specialist research as a way of using this popular cultural idea to lead people to the Gospel. However, I got more than I bargained for.
"There is nothing new under the sun" (Eccl. 1:9).
Polls report that in the U.S. alone, over 20 million people claim to have seen a UFO, and up to 4 million claim they have been abducted by aliens. Other researchers and I have collectively interviewed thousands of people, and the common pattern of the experiences makes it clear something is really happening to them. The big question is, are these "close encounters" really aliens flying to earth in faster-than-light spaceships from a galaxy far, far away? The answer is a firm no, because the evidence itself shows that these experiences are spiritual in nature.
And this is not just some Christian interpretation. We interviewed The History Channel's UFO guru, Nick Redfern, who has authored over 40 books on this subject and says:
"...we're dealing with something that co-exists with us and which masquerades as ET... They're not at all unlike multiple accounts that one can find in numerous religions. In fact, they're near-identical. Lives are radically changed, and people find themselves on new paths. Gods, angels, demons, the 'little people,' and—today—aliens: it's all one and the same."
Blowing the Whistle on Deception
I use the UFO subject to reach people who might not read or watch anything Christian, affirmed by the book's Amazon status. Hundreds have now contacted me, and there is a disturbing pattern. They claim that these entities are telling them that Christianity is wrong, or that Jesus was just an advanced ET like them,  and that we should embrace the new age. Other Christian researchers have come to the same conclusion. It's the same spiritual masquerade that set Joseph Smith, the founder of Mormonism, and even Mohammed on the deceptive path of creating false religions. People have had these experiences for centuries. In the past, these beings appeared as even fairies or elves or false gods. Now they appear as glorious space brothers, because this is a culturally acceptable guise. The Apostle Paul wrote: "Although if we or an angel from heaven preach any other gospel to you than the one we have preached to you, let him be accursed" (Gal. 1:8). I've also now received many testimonies of conversions. It's because once the spiritual deception is revealed and they begin to doubt the experience, the Holy Spirit can commence His work in their lives.
Jan. 11, 2018: A Unique Equipping and Outreach Opportunity
Of course, we are dealing with a demonic deception—a widespread one because it now takes a culturally acceptable form. And now, for the first time, there is a film that uses actual firsthand testimonies of how the name of Jesus causes these often-horrific experiences to stop in their tracks. It's the story that the UFO community and Hollywood doesn't want you to hear—the truth. And this is not some low-budget Christian production. It features interviews from around the world with scientists, experts and theologians discussing many aspects of the UFO phenomenon, as well as cutting-edge special effects. And it is narrated by faith-friendly Hollywood actor John Schneider (Superman's father in Smallville) who says: "It reveals one of the most disturbing, yet powerful affirmations of Christianity and the Bible."

Push Is On for More Embassies to Move to Jerusalem - CBN News Tzippe Barrow

Push Is On for More Embassies to Move to Jerusalem
12-26-2017
CBN News Tzippe Barrow
Just three weeks after US President Donald Trump announced his decision to recognize Jerusalem as Israel's capital and begin preparations to move the US Embassy there, more than 10 countries are considering the same move.
Israeli Deputy Foreign Minister Tzipi Hotovely told Israel Radio the talks are taking place, though she declined to specify the countries.
"I can only say that there are more than 10 countries," Israel Hayomquoted her as saying. "We, at the Foreign Ministry, are working intelligently with each one. Every country has a different background."
"There are plenty more countries in the works," she continued. "I know this because the Foreign Ministry is currently in the middle of important and meaningful efforts with these countries, some of which are European."
Guatemala, with its strong evangelical population, is the first country to follow suit.
"I spoke with Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu. We discussed the excellent relations between the countries since Guatemala's support for the establishment of Israel. One of the most relevant subjects was the return of the embassy of Guatemala to Jerusalem. I have instructed the foreign minister to begin coordinating the implementation of the move. G-d bless you," said evangelical Christian and Guatemalan President Jimmy Morales, the Government Press Office reported.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu thanked Morales for the decision.

"Last night I spoke with my friend, Guatemalan President Jimmy Morales. I thanked him for Guatemala's support for us in the UN [General Assembly] vote and I expressed my hope that he would follow in the footsteps of US President Donald Trump, recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and begin to move the embassy to it," Netanyahu told Israeli parliamentarians at the Knesset Monday.
In related news, the Jerusalem-based Friends of Zion Heritage Centerannounced a global campaign to encourage other countries to move their embassies to Jerusalem.
The ministry kicked off its campaign with a colorful banner in Jerusalem thanking the US and Guatemalan presidents for their support of Jerusalem as the capital of the Jewish state.
Evangelical leader and author Dr. Mike Evans called  it a "must see site in Jerusalem."
Earlier this month, Evans presented the Friends of Zion award to President Trump in a ceremony in the Oval Office attended by faith leaders representing more than 150 million Christians worldwide.
"The Friends of Zion Heritage Center has become one of the central institutions in the State of Israel influencing the world and strengthening Israel's relations globally while fortifying the pillars of the State of Israel," FOZ said in a statement.

Charismatic Renewal Pioneer Larry Christenson Dies from Icy Fall - CBN News Paul Strand

Charismatic Renewal Pioneer Larry Christenson Dies from Icy Fall
12-29-2017
CBN News Paul Strand
Rev. Larry Christenson, a leader of the charismatic renewal in mainline denominations, passed away Tuesday, five days after a fall on ice put the 89-year-old in a coma.
In his early 30s, Christenson was a Lutheran pastor in San Pedro, California, who came to believe at the start of the 1960s that Jesus Christ still heals the sick today as He did 2,000 years ago.
That belief led Christenson to accept that the other gifts of the Holy Spirit were also still available.
He himself was baptized in the Spirit and began to speak in tongues at a local Assemblies of God church he visited in 1961.
Christenson decided to stay in his Lutheran denomination, where he became a major advocate for and leader of the charismatic renewal sweeping through mainline churches.
His own San Pedro church became so popular that it could well have become a mega-church as Lutherans curious about the baptism in the Holy Spirit flocked there. But he always encouraged them to return to their own congregations to be a strength and light.
Christenson's books, "Speaking in Tongues" (1968) and "The Christian Family (1970)," became bestsellers.
Where detractors criticized the charismatic movement as being too based in shallow emotionalism, Christenson's own sharp and quiet intellect contradicted the stereotype.
After decades pastoring in California, he returned to his home state of Minnesota.  At age 89, he was attending the same church in Northfield, Minnesota, where he was baptized at the start of his life.
Christenson had memorized the entire Book of Ephesians, and praying from that book was a major part of the four-hour prayer walks he did daily. It was on such a walk two months away from his 90th birthday that he slipped on ice Dec. 21, the fall that led to his five-day coma and then death.
He was married to his wife, Nordis, for 66 years and is survived by her, four children, 18 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Attention Desert.... Here We Come! - Aviel Schneider ISRAEL TODAY

Attention Desert...Here We Come!

Friday, December 29, 2017 |  Aviel Schneider  ISRAEL TODAY
We inspected the sandy soil where we are planning to establish our olive grove within the next few months. Oren explained that during the last rainy season they received very little rain and even the seasonal Lavan river didn't flow.
In recent years, winters in Israel, especially in the south, have become increasingly drier. This is what has challenged me to green the deserts there, where it's not easy. After we succeeded with the vineyard we would like to repeat with an olive grove. After about three years, in the fall of 2021, we with God's help, are expecting to harvest the first olives and produce olive oil. But until then much will have to change in this desert patch. We humorously say that it is situated "at the end of the world, left!" More about this later.
We have long considered the preparations for the cultivation including a new irrigation system, fences, etc. We will probably start in about a month and have opted to plant the Cortina and Barnea olive varieties which produce excellent high quality olive oil. Planting an olive grove in sand is a challenge that needs to be well thought out and planned and we have to order the seedlings timeously. We will keep you up-to-date regarding the progress.
Oren, his family and us in Jerusalem are looking forward to this project and would like to thank everyone that has participated in helping bring this project to fruition (pun intended)!
