Every Feast of Israel Explained

EVERY FEAST OF ISRAEL EXPLAINED

God never called them feasts. The Hebrew word in Leviticus 23 is moed, which means appointment. A scheduled meeting. A date God circled on the calendar of human history before you were born. And every major event in the story of salvation has happened, or will happen, on one of those seven dates.

The spring appointments have already been kept. Passover, Unleavened Bread, Firstfruits, Pentecost. Death, burial, resurrection, Spirit. Jesus kept every one of them on the exact calendar day, down to the hour. The lamb of God was selected on the tenth, inspected for four days, and slaughtered on the fourteenth at the same hour as the Passover lambs in the temple. His sinless body was buried during the Feast of Unleavened Bread. He rose on the morning of Firstfruits, the first sheaf waved before God guaranteeing a full harvest of resurrections. And fifty days later, on the precise anniversary of the giving of the Law at Sinai, the Holy Spirit fell and three thousand were given life on the same day three thousand died at the golden calf.

But three appointments remain. Trumpets. Atonement. Tabernacles. The fall feasts are not history. They are prophecy. A trumpet has not yet sounded from heaven. A great High Priest is interceding in the true sanctuary right now. And the God who tabernacled among us in human flesh is coming back to tabernacle with His people forever. The Feast of Tabernacles is the only feast the prophet Zechariah says will continue after the Lord returns and establishes His kingdom. The booth becomes a house. The temporary becomes eternal.

We live between Pentecost and Trumpets. The harvest season. Not dead time. Not God forgetting. The grain is ripe and the workers are needed.
