The Tentacles of Big Abortion Now Try to Silence Pro-Lifers Overseas

The tentacles of Big Abortion are snaking their way across the globe to constrict the voices of pro-life workers.

Lawmakers are trying to make pro-life pregnancy centers promote abortion to desperate pregnant women looking for answers and help. This might sound familiar, but it's not just happening here in America.

Remember how we told you Big Abortion has worked tirelessly to manipulate abortion friendly lawmakers and pass laws that would force pro-life pregnancy centers to promote government funded abortion. Pro-abortion organization NARAL—the same vile group peddling abortion-themed ice cream "Rocky Roe vs Wade" in Oregon—championed legislation that would shut down pro-life centers in California that didn't also advise pregnant women of abortion as a viable option.

We scored a major victory for life in that case, as the Supreme Court agreed with us, ruling that the state cannot force pro-life pregnancy centers to parrot a government-dictated pro-abortion message that was in stark contrast to the very reason they were created—to be an alternative to abortion.

This was just one small victory in the global battle to end abortion and save countless innocent, precious lives. Big Abortion will not go down without a fight, and it has expanded its efforts far beyond America.

Now pro-abortion leaders in Ireland are reportedly pushing eerily similar legislation that would force Catholic pregnancy centers to promote abortion. This move is being spearheaded by Ireland's Health Minister Simon Harris.

Harris said every pregnancy center that receives taxpayer funding will be required to provide its clients with information about where they can get abortions; there will be no religious or moral exemptions.

"I believe that crisis pregnancy agencies, regardless of who owns them or who runs them, if they're funded by the taxpayer, should make all of the information available to women," he said.

Traditionally thought of as a Christian nation, with one of our own annual holidays named for its Patron Saint, Ireland only recently voted to legalize abortion. This decision to overturn Ireland's 8th Amendment, repealing protections for women and unborn babies was rightly characterized by pro-life advocates in the country as "a tragedy of historic proportions."

Irish Health Minister Harris is trying to push his legislation through as quickly as January of 2019.

Along with snatching the free speech out of the mouths of pro-life workers, Harris reportedly wants to force all hospitals and medical facilities that receive public funding to have to perform abortions.

Perhaps the most disturbingly familiar part is that Harris wants the Irish taxpayers to pay for these abortions, regardless of how they feel about it. In a recent interview, Harris was cagey about the exact numbers free abortion will cost the Irish taxpayers.

"Obviously, there's a cost with all of this. Those costs will be determined both through the estimates process and through the discussions that I'll have in terms of the contractual obligations,' he said. 'This needs to be resourced, it needs to be resourced adequately so that we can have safe, women-centered provision of this service in our country."

However the Irish Times has put the cost at about $5.8 million in taxpayer dollars per year. If that figure doesn't seem like very much, keep in mind the country of Ireland is just over 1 percent the population of the United States.

And regardless, no one should have to pay a single penny toward someone else's abortion. Especially because the government tells them they have to.

The Irish people need to stand against this legislation and demand that not a single cent of their taxes goes to support killing babies, before Big Abortion sinks its claws any deeper into their nation and their religious liberty.

We recently told you how Ireland has already used abortion to "cure" Down syndrome in the country, exterminating anyone who may possibly be born with disabilities.

As abortion spreads internationally, we see the effects here at home.

The ACLJ fought to help strike down similar laws targeting pro-life pregnancy centers and protect free speech for pro-life pregnancy centers in California and in Hawaii. And we just helped cut off taxpayer funding to one abortion-related business that was selling aborted babies' body parts to the federal government.

Here in America, we are fighting Big Abortion right now in courtrooms across the nation—and at the Supreme Court—fighting to end taxpayer funded abortions and cripple Planned Parenthood and its empire of death permanently. At the same time, we are fighting internationally to defeat Big Abortion. The defenseless across the globe need your voice.

Taxpayer-funded Big Abortion is spending a small fortune to buy anti-Judge Brett Kavanaugh ads.

We told you how the pro-abortion left was losing its collective mind at the president's nomination of Judge Brett Kavanaugh for the U.S. Supreme Court. This was not surprising given the fact that Judge Kavanaugh is an incredibly intelligent jurist with a proven record of unwavering commitment to the rule of law.

Judge Kavanaugh is also the thing that perhaps scares the left the most: a man of faith.

Big Abortion immediately went into panic mode, lighting up their base on social media with fearmongering and warnings that Judge Kavanaugh's confirmation would spell the end of their world.

Now, just weeks from the start of September's Senate confirmation hearings for Judge Kavanaugh, sources report Planned Parenthood has launched a desperate six-figure campaign to buy anti-Judge Kavanaugh advertisements.

Planned Parenthood announced this media buy in conjunction with its new #DearSenators initiative. #DearSenators is yet another Planned Parenthood website where it is sharing stories it claims are from supporters who would be affected by the confirmation of a pro-life justice such as Judge Kavanaugh —whom they disingenuously call "unfit to serve" on the Supreme Court.

The ads will specifically be aimed at several senators, including Republicans Susan Collins of Maine and Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, both considered swing votes in the past.

Pricey anti-Kavanaugh television commercials will run in Main and Alaska, and digital ads will be run across the country.

Of course, the rub is since Planned Parenthood receives a half-billion dollars in taxpayer support every year, the American people are subsidizing and essentially paying for these ads—along with the hundreds of thousands of abortions Planned Parenthood performs each year—whether they like it or not.

We just told you about Planned Parenthood's massive new online propaganda campaign called "Unstoppable" to activate its supporters and attack life. This initiative—featuring flashy imagery and pop music by pro-abortion artists and celebrities—urges followers to sign a "manifesto" essentially stating they support taxpayer funded abortion and will stand against pro-life candidates and lawmakers.

Big Abortion knows its empire is crumbling, which is exactly why it's mounting this new campaign to rally their troops and put them on the offensive. These campaigns cost money. And we know where Planned Parenthood gets its funding—the American taxpayers.

This foolishness has to stop. The American people should not be forced to pay for one more abortion, let alone Planned Parenthood's deceptive pro-abortion ad campaigns.

Is the Pro-Abortion Left in Major Panic Mode?

The Supreme Court landscape is about to once again shift with the selection of a new justice, and the pro-abortion left is in a complete panic.

When Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy announced his retirement, effective at the end of July, President Trump indicated that he would move fast to nominate a conservative replacement to fill the vacancy.

Justice Kennedy was often a swing vote, particularly in cases involving abortion, and the prospect of a consistent conservative to replace him sent the pro-abortion Left into a tailspin. We're not being dramatic. They're saying it themselves. Big Abortion and its advocates are beside themselves, screaming that the sky is falling.

Immediately after Justice Kennedy's announcement, the abortion machine took to social media, pumping out deceptive messages of fear and government control, and whipping their base into a frenzy.

Senator Kamala Harris, a Democrat from California, appeared on television and said if President Trump is able—which he is as president, as per the Constitution—to nominate the next Supreme Court Justice, "We're looking at a destruction of the Constitution of the United States."

The pro-abortion Senator also took to Twitter, tweeting incendiary accusations about any potential Supreme Court nomination by the president:

"Donald Trump wants to fill this SCOTUS vacancy with a justice who will overturn Roe v. Wade. Here's what this is really about: punishing women for wanting to control their bodies, their lives and their future."

That's right. The only thing that matters to the left is abortion. For all the euphemisms invented over the years, the reality is that it's all about abortion. It always has been, and the left is in full blown panic mode over the Supreme Court. And, surprise, it's all about abortion.

Shortly after the news of Justice Kennedy's retirement broke, Planned Parenthood released an official statement, calling the idea of another conservative justice "terrifying":

The significance of today's news cannot be overstated: The right to access abortion in this country is on the line. For more than 40 years, access to safe and legal abortion has been the law of the land and the right to control your body is an essential American liberty. With this vacancy, Donald Trump and Mitch McConnell hold the balance of the court in their hands—and with it, the legal right to access abortion in this country. President Trump has promised to only appoint justices who will overturn Roe v. Wade. The idea of Trump having his choice to fill another vacancy is terrifying for not only abortion rights, but for our ability to live free from discrimination in this country. Planned Parenthood and our 11 million supporters call on the Senate to reject any nominee who would strip people's individual rights and freedoms.

(Of note, it is Planned Parenthood that is currently suing for the right to permanently discriminate against babies with Down syndrome by aborting them.)

Planned Parenthood's official Twitter account also tweeted:

"Trump promised to overturn Roe v. Wade, and his lower court nominees are making this nightmare a reality. We can expect the next SCOTUS nominee to be no different."

"Make no mistake. We won't let @POTUS & @SenateMajLdr get their way without one hell of a fight. We control our bodies. #SaveSCOTUS"

Save SCOTUS? They're acting as though a new conservative justice will literally destroy the Supreme Court. Although these are the sort of people who we told you called abortion "sacred" and "a blessing" so it's apparent their perspective that may be distorted.

Shortly after, Planned Parenthood retweeted another Leftist, pro-abortion tweet that read:

"Let's be clear. A vote for anyone on Trump's shortlist of SCOTUS nominees is a vote to overturn #RoevWade, criminalize abortion and punish women. We are counting on the Senate to step up."

No one is interested in punishing women. It's dishonest, and it's irresponsible.

Pro-abortion group National Abortion Rights Action League (NARAL) whom we told youjust saw the law they helped create forcing pro-life pregnancy centers to promote abortion struck down at the Supreme Court tweeted:

"It's never been *just* about abortion. It's about controlling women's bodies and lives. http://fal.cn/y1lJ @SethMillstein"

This is just more of their abortion distortion. Nobody is talking about controlling women. But to further incite the frantic behavior, the president of NARAL then tweeted:

"This week #SCOTUS attacked women, Muslims and working people. Trump and McConnell are pushing for a retirement and to fill another seat before Nov elections. This could happen at any time. We must prepare. Join the @naral #SCOTUS rapid response team."

More deception. More frenzied desperation. And it has continued from the Left since Justice Kennedy's initial announcement.

In fact, NARAL and other leftist groups have already launched ads (in the hundreds of thousands and millions of dollars) attacking the Supreme Court nominee—before anyone knows who it even is—and the focus is once again ... abortion.

But there is good reason for big abortion to be spiraling. Planned Parenthood is under investigation for the disgusting practice of selling aborted body parts. It's in danger of losing a significant chunk of its federal funding—a battle we're directly involved in to put an end to free, taxpayer funded abortion. It just lost its CEO, who led them to record profits and oversaw the murders of 3.5 million babies.

And in all this outcry, not one angry tweet from the left has mentioned the rights of those innocent babies.

Most recently, we reported Big Abortion took some major hits at the Supreme Court in favor of pro-life pregnancy centers—rulings the ACLJ played a part in.

It's no wonder Big Abortion is thrashing in the water, desperately biting at anything. America is no longer complacent to let it kill unlimited innocent babies while raking in billions in taxpayer funding.

While abortion advocates incoherently panic, we are calmly viewing Justice Kennedy's retirement as a valuable opportunity to ensure a consistently conservative, common-sense Supreme Court majority that will enforce the Constitution and uphold the rule of law.

Another Christian Family Murdered in Pakistan, Violence Escalates

Violence against Christians in Pakistan just keeps escalating—this time with ISIS taking the credit—as mobs rule and the government continues to look the other way.

ISIS has claimed responsibility for the cold-blooded assassination of a Christian family in Quetta, Pakistan the day after Easter. The family of four Christians, who had come to the city to visit relatives, was riding in a rickshaw when reports say gunmen on motorcycles surrounded them on both sides and opened fire before speeding away. They left only one survivor—a 12-year-old girl who was taken to a local hospital and treated for injuries.

This attack comes just over a year after ISIS took credit for two suicide bomber attacks on Churches in Egypt on Palm Sunday.

These latest jihadist murders just add to the many violent attacks committed against Christians in Pakistan. In the days before this Easter holiday, we reported on another eruption of violence against Christians—this time a mob hurling bricks at Christians trying to hang a Palm Sunday banner for their church. Just a few weeks before that, Christians were beaten by a mob with clubs. In fact on Easter Sunday just two years before, a jihadist suicide bomber attacked a park in Pakistan, killing 18 Christians.

Christian families have been driven from their homes by angry mobs threatening to burn their houses to the ground. Multiple churches have been attacked and bombed. And we continue to advocate for Asia Bibi, the Christian mother of five, falsely accused of blasphemy and sentenced to death because of her faith.

These are not isolated incidents. Pakistan is currently not a safe place for Christians, despite the fact their government said it would abide by international agreements to protect religious minorities. So far there has been little evidence of any protection.

In fact in some parts of Pakistan, Christians can't even count on protection from the local authorities. Last year, a gang of police officers in Sheikkupura, Pakistan beat an eighth-grade Christian student to death over a schoolyard scuffle with a Muslim student. Our affiliate, the European Centre for Law and Justice (ECLJ), through its Pakistan office—the Organization for Legal Aid (OLA)—was able to secure a victoryagainst the attackers.

While not perhaps the justice we'd expect here at home, it is at least a positive turn in a nation where attacks on Christians largely go unpunished. But it's far from an end to the threat of violence Christians are living under.

Recently, we appealed to the United Nations, through the ECLJ, to remind Pakistan of its commitment to protect religious minorities against human rights violations and to prosecute those who harass or commit acts of violence against them.

ISIS is said to be weakened and losing ground, but these most recent vicious slayings are proof that the aftershocks of their Christian genocide are still actively being felt, not just in Iraq and Syria, but even in Pakistan. They cannot be permitted to gain another foothold in Pakistan.

The ACLJ will continue to monitor the situation in Pakistan and fight on behalf of persecuted Christians at the U.N., here at home before Congress, and globally through our affiliate offices.
