Why Does the Beast in 'Beauty and the Beast' Look Eerily Similar to Baphomet?
March 23, 2017 MICHAEL SNYDER  CHARISMA NEWS
Does it upset anyone else that the "beast" in Disney's new remake of "Beauty and the Beast" is a goat-man with very long horns that bears quite a resemblance to Baphomet?
In Disney's 1991 animated version of Beauty and the Beast, the "beast" looked very much like a gentle lion. There were a couple of small horns poking out of his head, but those could have easily been mistaken as tufts of hair. But this time around, the "beast" has been depicted as a hybrid goat-man with enormous goat horns sticking out of his head. And of course, anyone who is familiar with the occult knows that the most famous goat-man in the entire world is Baphomet—the official symbol of the Church of Satan. Could it be possible that the similarity between this "beast" and Baphomet is more than just a coincidence?
In 1856, Eliphas Levi drew his infamous picture of a goat-man which came to be known as "Baphomet." Since that time, his drawing came to be very closely associated with the devil, and eventually it was even adopted by the Church of Satan as its official symbol. The following comes from Wikipedia:
Lévi's Baphomet is the source of the later Tarot image of the Devil in the Rider-Waite design. [3] The concept of a downward-pointing pentagram on its forehead was enlarged upon by Lévi in his discussion (without illustration) of the Goat of Mendes arranged within such a pentagram, which he contrasted with the microcosmic man arranged within a similar but upright pentagram. [59] The actual image of a goat in a downward-pointing pentagram first appeared in the 1897 book La Clef de la Magie Noire by Stanislas de Guaita[60] It was this image that was later adopted as the official symbol—called the Sigil of Baphomet—of the Church of Satan, and continues to be used among Satanists. [61]
Over time, the symbol of Baphomet has become increasingly prominent in the occult world.
In recent years, the Satanic Temple has made national headlines by attempting to erect statues of Baphomet in several major cities:
In 2014, the Satanic Temple commissioned an 8 1/2-foot statue of Baphomet to stand alongside a monument of the Ten Commandments at Oklahoma State Capitol [65]; "respect for diversity and religious minorities" were cited as reasons for erecting the monument.[66] After the Ten Commandments monument was vandalized, plans to erect the Baphomet statue were put on hold as the Satanic Temple did not want their statue to stand alone by the Oklahoma capitol.[67] The Oklahoma Supreme Court declared all religious displays illegal [68] and On 25 July 2015 the statue was erected near a warehouse in Detroit, as a symbol of the modern Satanist movement. [69][70] The Satanic Temple may take the statue to Arkansas where another Ten Commandments monument is proposed. [71]
You can see photos of these statues of Baphomet here. So why does this new "beast" in Beauty and the Beast resemble these statues so closely?
In no other version of Beauty and the Beast has the "beast" ever been depicted as a goat-man.
So was this a conscious choice on the part of the producers of the film, or was it just an accident?
Up until now, the biggest controversy surrounding the film has been the fact that it is the very first Disney movie to feature an "exclusively gay moment," and this prompted Rev. Franklin Graham and many other leaders to call for a boycott.
Unfortunately, the boycott did not make much of an impact, because Beauty and the Beast made an astounding $350 million worldwide during its opening weekend:
Beauty and the Beast earned $180 million internationally and an additional $170 million at the domestic box office, a sterling result for the $160 million-budgeted film. In a sign of its popularity, Beauty and the Beast topped the box office in nearly every market where it screened. The fairy-tale romance earned $44.8 million in China, grossed $22.8 million in the United Kingdom, grabbed $11.9 million in South Korea, nabbed $10.7 million in Germany and picked up $7.6 million in Italy. Beauty and the Beast even performed well in Russia, where its opening was overshadowed by controversy surrounding the inclusion of a gay character. Russian authorities gave the film a higher rating to limit younger audience's access. Russia has a number of anti-LGBT laws in place.
Of course, the LGBTQ community saw this as a great victory for their cause. The following comes from a prominent gay advocacy website:
This is the largest opening weekend ever for a PG-rated film and for a Disney live-action film, surpassing Maleficent, The Jungle Book and Cinderella. Experts predict that, at this rate, Beauty and the Beast may break $1 billion in ticket sales.
GLAAD, an LGBT media organization, was elated by the box-office success. "Inclusive storytelling pays," tweeted CEO Sarah Kate Ellis.
"This will help send a message to LGBTQ kids that they're important," the group declared on social media, along with the hashtag #TeamLeFou, a show of solidarity with Disney's first clearly gay character.
The film would have never made so much money without millions of evangelical Christian families flocking to go see it.
This is the kind of apostasy that we always knew was coming in the last days, but it is still shocking to see. What we willingly feed into our minds is going to determine who we eventually become. And so when we gladly gobble up thousands of hours of "programming" that the big media corporations keep feeding us, we shouldn't be amazed that our culture now reflects their value system.
As far as Beauty and the Beast is concerned, just consider the value system of the director. The following comes from the Olive Branch Report:
Beauty and the Beast's director Bill Condon, 61, born in New York City and raised in an Irish Catholic family, is openly homosexual and has a visceral hatred for Christianity.
Pete Baklinski reports for LifeSiteNews, March 17, 2017, that in a 2007 interview with Passport Magazine, Bill Condon said he wishes he could "rip pages out of the Bible" when he stays in hotel rooms.
When millions of dollars are at stake, very few things happen just "by accident."
Someone needs to ask the people in charge of this film why the "beast" looks so much like Baphomet.
Unfortunately, I don't think that most people would care even if we were told that it was done on purpose, and that is yet another indication of just how far we have fallen as a society.

Mommy Blogger Under Fire for Canceling Disney Vacation - HEATHER SELLS/CBN NEWS

Join us on our podcast each weekday for an interesting story, well told, from Charisma News. Listen at charismapodcastnetwork.com.

A 24-year-old blogger mom is feeling the burn for her post about canceling a Disney vacation over the Beauty and the Beast controversy.

Brooke Poston has been waiting with her daughter for months for the release of the new live-action Beauty and the Beast movie. They've also been looking forward to their second family vacation at the Disney World theme park in Florida.
Now, neither event is happening for the Poston family and they have a stream of hate mail in response to Poston's post explaining their decision.
Poston talked about the family's abrupt change in a post titled, "Disney's LGBT agenda forced me to cancel our Disney World Vacation" on her blog "This Modest Mom."
"I'm not paying for simple entertainment that doesn't accurately align with my personal beliefs," she wrote. The deal-breaker in this case: Disney's "exclusively gay moment" in the movie.
Poston, who lives in Louisiana with her husband and two young children, says she and her family have been Disney fans for years, despite knowing that Disney supports LGBT characters to some extent. She cites the lesbian couple on the Disney show Good Luck Charlie in 2014 and the unofficial "Gay Days" at the theme park. But Poston says the gay scene in this movie crossed a line for her.
"There comes a point where you have to take a stand for the things you believe in," she wrote, adding, "this is my stand."
"Disney isn't just aiming their efforts towards parents of Disney-aged children anymore. They are pointing a desperate finger at the innocence of our youth," she said.
Poston found out about the gay scene in Beauty and the Beast the same day she booked their family vacation--and so was able to quickly reverse course and change plans without financial repercussions.
Now, she's calling on her readers to join more than 128,000 others and sign a boycott petition protesting Disney's decision.
Poston is also processing hundreds of Facebook comments, messages and emails slamming her for her family's decision. Readers have told her she is "disgusting" to take away her daughter's dreams and told her that she is teaching her children to hate.
She posted about that experience as well saying, "It wasn't my plan to stir strife. So if the context of my words [was] misleading and I made you feel condemned or less of a person, I'm truly sorry."
She also explained "I don't shun LGBT people. I don't fear them. I believe that all humans should be treated equally and with respect. But I have a right to stay true to my religious beliefs as well."
Poston says that if Disney reconsiders its stance, she will reschedule her Disney trip. In the meantime, she and her family are planning to head to Branson, Missouri, for their family vacation this year.

A New Warning for Parents When It Comes to How TV and Movies Influence Children - CBN News

A New Warning for Parents When It Comes to How TV and Movies Influence Children
CBN News 03-09-2017
The debate, protests and controversy surrounding Disney's "big gay moment" in its new Beauty and the Beast film warrant one big reminder for parents. Children are influenced by what they see.
The Parents Television Council sites recent studies that show the harm TV can have on children, including: sex, violence and profanity.
The organization's program director Melissa Henson told CBN News the research dates back 60 years.
Dear Reader,
In the current media landscape, an unwavering Christian perspective is more crucial than ever.
Our focus at CBN is to bring you the news that is important to you, giving you the truth behind the story and tackling the issues that the mainstream media refuses to report.

Henson said, "Kids are impacted in the real world by the entertainment that they are consuming."
She added, "The largest body of research shows that violent entertainment, for example, can lead to violent behavior in children or aggressive tendencies, but there is a more recent body of research that is linking sexual content on television to sexual behavior in children. And what they are finding is there is a direct relationship between a child's exposure to sexual content on TV and the likelihood that they are going to be engaging in sexual activity at a younger age."
University College researchers in London surveyed 1,600 children. They compared the mental health of children in 2009 with those in 2014. That study found schoolgirls with emotional problems rose from 13% in 2009 to 20% in 2014.
The author of the study found the increasing stress on girls could be the result of a few things, including: academic pressure, and "increasing sexualization and objectification, amplified by social media."
This research raises questions for parents to consider as The Disney Channel recently aired its first gay kiss.
The "Star vs. the Forces of Evil" episode featured a concert scene where several people, including same sex couples, kiss on cue with the music.
Henson noted, "At the PTC, we are concerned about all manners of sexual content being exposed to children at a young age."
"And what I hear from talking to a lot of parents and a lot of my friends who have previously allowed their kids to watch the Disney Channel is the extent to which Disney promotes relationships of any kind to such a young viewership."
Henson added it is often simply "too much too soon for kids."
Henson encourages parents to be good role models for their children when it comes to what media they consume. It is also important to keep devices in a central location, to better monitor what children are watching.

Russian leaders have stopped short of a total ban, but they did issue a big decision against Disney's live-action remake of Beauty and the Beast.
A 2013 Russian law prohibits "gay propaganda" aimed at children, so the Russian Culture Ministry has decided moviegoers will need to be at least 16 years old to see the film.
Russian lawmaker Vitaly Milonov had called the film "homosexual propaganda," saying it shouldn't be seen by children because of reports that it includes a gay character.
Milonov protested the screening of any movie that disseminates "overt and shameless propaganda of sin and sexual perversion under the guise of a fairy tale."
The controversy began after the film's director said the movie features "a nice, exclusively gay moment in a Disney film" involving the character LeFou, played by actor  .
During an interview with Attitude magazine, a European gay lifestyle magazine, the film's director Bill Condon described LeFou as "somebody who on one day, wants to be Gaston, and on another day, wants to kiss Gaston."
The statement has stirred up controversy, with a number of parents saying they will not take their children to see Beauty and the Beast.
At the film's March 2 premiere in Los Angeles, director Bill Condon revised his earlier comments, saying that describing LeFou as Disney's first gay character went too far.
"I keep saying it's more like the first gay moment," he said. "Because I think it's a very fluid character." The director added: "You can't help but wonder in his adoration of Gaston ... [is there] something more going on?"
But Russia's Culture Ministry has made its decision: No children allowed.
The movie is set to release in Russia on March 16. It hits theaters in the U.S. the next day.

Beauty and the Beast star Emma Watson is an outspoken feminist and defender of gender equality. But to her, that doesn't include championing the rights of unborn baby girls (or boys).
Vanity Fair recently filmed Watson giving advice remotely through an iPad at New York's Grand Central Station. For just two dollars, the magazine's "man on the street" Derek Blasberg promised commuters that the 26-year-old actress would answer any question.
And that she did. Watson offered advice on everything from relationships to New York City sightseeing. One young man praised Watson's "HeForShe" gender equality campaign as "very inspiring" in her role as U.N. Women Goodwill Ambassador.
"Are you a feminist?" she asked him from the iPad screen.
He responded in the affirmative. "I'm definitely against sexism," he said. "I'm definitely against, you know, arranged marriages and I'm definitely pro-choice."
Watson applauded, "You're obviously a complete legend and definitely a feminist."
At the very end, Blasberg pointed to the dollar bills commuters had paid for Watson's recommendations. "What am I going to do with all this stuff?" he wanted to know.
Watson had an answer: America's largest abortion provider.
"Oh my god, the money! It has to go to Planned Parenthood," she insisted. "Planned Parenthood, they're the best."
Vanity Fair confirmed at the end of the video that "All proceeds from Emma's advice booth have been donated to Planned Parenthood."
Although the video was filmed on Valentine's Day, the magazine published it two weeks later in anticipation of Watson appearing on Vanity Fair's March cover and inside its controversial photoshoot. This isn't the first time Watson has voiced support for the abortion giant. Earlier this year, the day of the media-beloved Women's March, she tweeted: "#IStandWithPP."
Watson joins a long list of celebrities supporting Planned Parenthood, including, most recently, actresses Emma Stone and Dakota Johnson at the Oscars.
