She Wanted to Join ISIS but Met Jesus and Was Set Free From Demons Instead - BENJAMIN GILL/CBN NEWS

Join us on our podcast each weekday for an interesting story, well told, from Charisma News. Listen at charismapodcastnetwork.com.

Rita Chaima radiates with joy. When you see her face, you can tell she's filled with deep happiness and contentment.
But that's the opposite of the way she used to feel. Chaima was raised a Muslim, and from an early age she struggled with suicidal depression.
She tells her powerful story in a new documentary called "In His Footsteps" by a ministry called The Last Reformation.
"I just saw a cruel world and I didn't want to be a part of it," she recalls.
Chaima says she tried to kill herself three times. "I was doing drugs, I was smoking, I was smoking anything... I just wanted to destroy myself."
At one point she became so angry that she made up her mind to join ISIS in Syria.
"I hated people who weren't Muslim. I wanted to kill them," she says.
The videos by ISIS inspired her. "I loved to see them bleeding. I was seeing videos of decapitation and loved it."
But then something else happened. Her mom got a bunch of free books for her, and there was a Bible among them. That's when Chaima met Jesus.
"I started to read the Bible to prove to Christians that they were wrong," she says. "But I was wrong! And the grace of Jesus Christ started to touch me."
"I was reading things like 'pray for your enemies,' 'love them,' and I was someone who wanted to kill them."
"Intellectually I didn't want to accept Jesus, but Jesus started to do a work in my heart," she says.
She couldn't resist the love of Jesus anymore, so she decided to follow Him.
When she told her family what she had done, they rejected her. She says they stopped talking to her, and for months left her alone in her room. "It was like a prison."
She says in the past, depression would have overtaken her. But not this time. She started to read the Bible a lot. "Jesus was there with me. He was encouraging me. The Holy Spirit was really there. I felt it, I knew it."
Her Muslim family has now totally abandoned her, but her story doesn't end there.
When it was time for Chaima to be baptized, something supernatural happened.
"I don't even remember what I did. I had to see the video of my baptism. I was completely crazy; the demon was crazy, it wasn't me. I kicked Jon. He baptized me. I kicked him."
But as she flailed and screamed, Jon continued to minister over her, telling the demon to go, until peace finally came over her body. She was finally set free and baptized in the Holy Spirit.
"After the baptism, I felt like the heavy weight completely disappeared. And I was so excited to go and make disciples," she said.
"I started to want to talk about Jesus to everyone, even to the people who led me to terrorism. I wanted to go and see them, tell them that they are wrong, and that love is waiting for them."
And that's just what she now does, traveling with gospel minister Peter Ahlman and other Christians, she shares her testimony wherever she goes.

'I Live for the King': Christian Rapper NF Makes History as Best-Selling Musician in Entire US

11-17-2017
CBN News Efrem Graham,
Nathan John Feuerstein is best known by his stage name NF, and the Christian hip-hop artist is making quite a name for himself throughout the music world.
His third studio album "Perception" topped the Billboard Chart for an entire week in October, making him the best-selling musician in the entire country, Christian and secular markets alike.
That acclaim is quite a rarity for a Christian artist. Though, like many Christians in the rap game, NF has pushed back against the label. That's because his music isn't just aimed at the Christian market.
"If you're a Christian and you're a plumber, are you a Christian plumber?" he's quoted as saying in an article in Idolator.
Labels aside, NF's lyrics routinely share his relationship with God.
In one song he proclaims, "I don't live for the world. I live for the king. I live for the king."
The Michigan native uses his music to open up about the pain in his life, from his parents' divorce to the day his mother died from an overdose.
In a freestyle rap called "Rhyme and Reason - Real," NF talks a bit about his faith journey and how God has given him rap to help him along the way.
"I've been through hell in my life though. But I know where heaven is. Father forgive me for I am a sinner, but you gave me music as medicine," he raps.
You can watch that here, and hear him talk a bit about his recent struggles in the hip-hop world:
"I stand behind these words: I'm a Christian but I'm not perfect," NF says.You can sample his music for yourself here:

'Jesus Is Calling': Carrie Underwood's Powerful Las Vegas Memorial at the CMA Awards
11-09-2017
CBN News Benjamin Gill
Country music stars came together for the prestigious CMA Awards Wednesday night, just one month after 58 people were killed at a country music festival in Las Vegas. Almost 500 others were also wounded in that massacre.
The country music world sought to honor the victims throughout the evening, starting at the very top of the ceremony with a powerful performance of "Amazing Grace" by Eric Church.
That was followed by plenty of awards and a rousing group performance of "Hold My Hand" by dozens of country stars.
But the most poignant moment of the evening came when Carrie Underwood performed the classic hymn, "Softly and Tenderly Jesus Is Calling," in memory of all the victims of Las Vegas.
Underwood was overcome by emotion at one point as photos of the victims appeared on the screen behind her.
Her voice began to break up, and she became so emotional she couldn't continue singing the words.
The "In Memoriam" section of the show began with photos of country singers and members of the community who passed away in the last year. But when photos of the 58 people who died on Oct. 1 were displayed in the background, that's when Underwood grew emotional.
The moment captured the hearts of many viewers, who posted about it on social media:
While Underwood did not sing the entire song, here are the lyrics to the traditional hymn:
Softly and tenderly Jesus is calling,
Calling for you and for me;
See, on the
portals He's waiting and watching,
Watching for you and for me.
Come home, come home,
You who are weary, come home;
Earnestly, tenderly, Jesus is calling,
Calling, O sinner, come home!
Why should we tarry when Jesus is pleading,
Pleading for you and for me
Why should we linger and heed not His mercies,
Mercies for you and for me
Come home, come home,
You who are weary, come home;
Earnestly, tenderly, Jesus is calling,
Calling, O sinner, come home!
Time is now fleeting, the moments are passing,
Passing from you and from me;
Shadows are gathering, deathbeds are coming,
Coming for you and for me.
Come home, come home,
You who are weary, come home;
Earnestly, tenderly, Jesus is calling,
Calling, O sinner, come home!
O for the wonderful love He has promised,
Promised for you and for me!
Though we have sinned, He has mercy and pardon,
Pardon for you and for me.
