If you've been going through trials recently, you'll want to read this by Bill as he opens with:
As we were both hit by physical trials recently, I said to my wife, "It's party time! Let's celebrate! If we are supposed to count this all joy, we may as well enjoy it." Instead of fasting, we went to our favorite place to eat. Why wait for joy after the battle when we can have it at the beginning? I have had joy ever since. His joy is what takes us through our fiery trials, for the joy of the Lord is strength to our spirit, soul, mind and body.
Receive this word by Bill Yount and know that it's your time for JOY as God cancels the negative and false reports coming against you! (To Subscribe to the Elijah List subscribe here.)

"My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials." (James 1:2)
As we were both hit by physical trials recently, I said to my wife, "It's party time! Let's celebrate! If we are supposed to count this all joy, we may as well enjoy it." Instead of fasting, we went to our favorite place to eat. Why wait for joy after the battle when we can have it at the beginning? I have had joy ever since. His joy is what takes us through our fiery trials, for the joy of the Lord is strength to our spirit, soul, mind and body.
"When anxiety was great within me, Your consolation brought me joy." (Psalm 94:19 NIV)
"False Report"
Before my yearly heart checkup last week, I heard the words "false report." After listening to my heart, the doctor said, "I hear a little heart murmur. We will check it out to make sure your heart is OK."
I held onto those words, "false report," above what the doctor said. As I arrived home, the Lord convicted me of murmuring. I immediately repented. I am convinced that our bodies often let us know what's going on in our spiritual lives.
My test was on that Thursday morning, and the doctor called me in the following Friday to tell me "Everything is fine." I believe when I repented, the bullet missed me, and I am not the same person.
The Power of Life and Death is in the Tongue
I believe that at times what I go through physically is prophetic for the Body of Christ and our nation. So if this speaks to you, take heed and repent, for murmuring can be dangerous for us and others. And don't rejoice when you see your enemy fall. Pray for them.(Photo via Unsplash)
"Post a guard at my mouth, God, set a watch at the door of my lips." (Psalms 141:3)
I sense we have entered a critical space in time. During this time, the words that we speak concerning bad reports in our lives and also concerning our nation will carry tremendous power in how the Lord responds to us. It's as though our words will be amplified in the spirit realm. God will be listening, but so will the enemy. Much of the battle and breakthrough will be won by the words that we speak and by what we don't say. Remember that the power of life and death is in our tongue.
I heard of a congregation who sensed the Lord challenging them to fast negative words and thoughts for thirty days. At the end of thirty days, there were tremendous miracles, financial breakthroughs, and relationships reconciled!
Can't You Talk Louder, God?
How Our Mouths Can Keep Us from Our Inheritance
The Israelite's murmuring and complaining against their leadership (Moses), became full-blown and was rooted in unbelief, keeping the Israelites from entering into their Promised Land. I sense we need to be reminded to be careful what we speak concerning the leadership of our nation, churches, and yes, the husbands and fathers of our families. Perhaps, if you are a Republican, it may be wise to pray more for the souls of the Democratic leaders, and vice versa.
If you are a leader, remember that Moses also was kept out of his inheritance by getting angry with the people and striking the rock instead of speaking to it. We as leaders must be careful to speak the truth in love and not provoke those under us to wrath.
It is interesting that even with all of the sin, the giants, and the evil in the land of Canaan, God still called it a "good land flowing with milk and honey" (see Exodus 3:8)! Even when the evil report came, about how big the giants were, Joshua and Caleb responded, "If the giants are really that big, imagine how big the fruit of that land must be" (paraphrased). Two men could only carry out one cluster of grapes on a pole. That is big! The reason so many giants are showing up in our nation is because the fruit is so big!
"I would have lost heart, unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living." (Psalms 27:13)
I believe the Lord will open our eyes and ears as we close our mouths more during these serious days. He will show us great and mighty things that we've never seen or heard before. We will begin to see the good of our land—the fruit instead of the giants and evil. We will then begin to pray and say what He says about our nation! I believe we will even begin speaking blessing to the ground beneath our feet.
Speak to your mountains, sing into your valleys, and bless your ocean-front properties. "This land was made for you and me!"
A Window of Opportunity
I saw a violent wrestling in the heavenlies as a window of opportunity was opening up momentarily for a space of time for our nation to be redeemed by the Blood of the Lamb! I heard the voice of a strong angel, perhaps Gabriel himself, proclaiming and piercing through the powers of darkness over America: "We are giving up 'no ground!' This nation is not for sale—never. This land was made for you and me." (Photo via Unsplash)
I heard the Rocky mountains, the Grand Canyon and the ocean-front properties crying out to Heaven, "Don't let go of me!" I heard the earth itself groaning—from California to the New York Highlands, and from the Redwood Forest to the Gulf Stream waters. It was travailing, as though crying out for the manifestation of the sons of God to come forth in power and might!
A Verbal Blessing to Reverse the Curse
As I saw our words blessing the land of our nation, much of the land was beginning to come under the anointing and ownership of God's people as though it was responding to our love and kindness to it.
This time period is the perfect time to speak forth God's Word and call those things in this nation that are not as though they were!
Can you hear the Father saying, "False Report!" to your situation and the condition of our nation? "False Report!" Let's believe God and bless America! (To Subscribe to the Elijah List subscribe here.)

"Are You Praying God's Way?" Bill Yount, The Elijah List

March 14, 2019

"Are You Praying God's Way?"
Bill Yount, Hagerstown, MD

Intro from Bill Yount:

Steve ShultzI have rediscovered a missing part of my prayer life. It's been years since I tasted it. It's when you pray and there's a sweet release of its burden with no need to pray any further because you have God's peace on it. I believe many are praying themselves into depression over their families and nations. This kind of praying is not Scriptural. I believe our prayer time should result in unspeakable joy.

I want to share this word that I released in 2015. I now remember the missing ingredient that I had forgotten with all the warfare raging against us. I believe it's Heaven's protocol for prayer. (To Subscribe to the Elijah List subscribe here.)

"Are You Praying God's Way?"
Bill Yount, Hagerstown, MD

I released this word a few years ago, but I believe it is so needed now. With all the praying are we praying God's way?

Return to Sender!

In the Spirit, I saw many prayers ascending upward toward the throne. I sensed that many of these prayers were being prayed according to the Father's perfect will. Many were prayers for gifts, callings, and destinies to be manifested. A majority were bundles of prayers for the lost, especially for family members. Many of these prayer requests were made up of strong cries day and night, and with fasting, that had become heavy burdens on hearts over the years.

As these prayers began to ascend, they seemed to go only so far and then would drop back down to Earth as though they were bouncing off the ceiling from where they were being prayed. I saw in Heaven something like a huge "heavenly post office," where prayer requests are received and where answers to prayers are sent out. At the entrance of this "heavenly post office" there was a front door on which was written, in gigantic letters, the Scripture found in Philippians 4:6, "Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with 'thanksgiving' let your request be made known unto God!" (emphasis added).

As huge bundles of prayer requests came through the front door on the way to the throne room, I was appalled by how many requests were being stopped and never made it to the throne for answers. I heard a voice that shook me. An angelic postmaster general proclaimed, "These prayer requests have no 'postage' on them. Return to sender!"

In the Spirit I saw these huge bundles of prayer requests like letters that had no postage stamps on them. These could go no farther! The ones I did see going on into the throne room to be answered had postage stamps of "thanksgiving" on them. These ones became "priority" mail inside the throne room, and immediate confirmation of peace was sent to the sender with the following verse: "And the peace of God, which passes all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus" (Philippians 4:7).

Before the answer of these prayers were manifested on Earth, the people that sent their requests with thanksgiving were receiving the assurance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not yet seen. Because of the peace of God, they were receiving through the giving of thanks.

There Can't Be Thanksgiving Until There's Believing

Many prayers for lost loved ones never really reached their "heavenly" destination, not because people weren't praying, but because they simply were not believing that they would receive what they were asking for. Therefore, to be thankful was very difficult for them.
The Lord seemed to say, "Tell My people that many have already prayed and prayed and filled Heaven with their prayers for the lost and their loved ones. They actually need to stop praying and simply believe ME to save them."

"...Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house!" (Acts 16:31 emphasis added)

I sensed the Father saying, "Many are carrying a false responsibility, feeling that they are responsible to get their family members saved. May I remind you that you could not save your own self, and therefore, you cannot save anybody else. And since I saved you, I can save anyone!

Many who were faithfully praying for family members for many years were actually praying themselves into a state of depression. I sense the Spirit saying, "This kind of praying is not Scriptural! Begin to believe and start thanking Me that I am going to save them now. Thank Me that I am going to bring in the lost. Just send up some stamps of 'thanksgiving,' and I will stamp your prayer requests to forward them to the throne.

Start living as though your prayers are already answered!

"As you are thanking Me, go ahead and start treating your lost loved ones as though they are already saved. When you do, your life will become so full of thanksgiving and praise and worship, that you will begin to see My heavenly 'UPS' and 'FED EX' arrive, bringing speedy delivery from Heaven to impossible requests upon the earth. Praise and worship moves Me to do outrageous acts of blessings upon the earth!"

You Will Never See It if You Don't Believe It

I remembered when Peter was put in prison and the church was praying for his deliverance. There was also a prayer meeting going on for Peter in a woman's house. Her name was Mary. As the angel came and delivered Peter, he made a straight run to Mary's house. I believe he felt the power of their prayers.

As Peter knocked on Mary's front door, a handmaiden, Rhoda, answered the door and got so excited, she forgot to let Peter in. Rhoda ran inside that prayer meeting shouting, "Peter is at the front door!" (Acts 12:14). For some reason they didn't seem to hear her. Perhaps someone was giving a strong prophetic utterance about Peter's "soon" release. Again, I can hear Rhoda shouting something like, "Our answered prayer is at the front door. We can stop praying!"

Finally, Rhoda gets the prayer group's attention, and here is the spiritual temperature inside that prayer room – here is what they say to Rhoda: "It is his angel." In other words, "We don't believe it!" (Acts 12:15).

You can pray for a hundred years, but unless you believe that you are going to receive what you are asking for, you will never see it. "Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours" (Mark 11:24 NIV).

I personally believe there are some prayer meetings that need to be broken up. Many churches have prayer meetings, but few have "prayer-believing" meetings. It was easier for Peter to get out of prison than it was for him to get inside that prayer meeting.

Our Thanksgiving Proves Our Faith

Next time you pray, try putting a postage stamp of "thanksgiving" on your request. I promise you, you will enjoy prayer time much more, and you'll probably live much longer!

As a father, when my children thank me for something in advance, it's hard for me to get out of giving it to them! Prayer with thanksgiving proves to God that we believe we are going to receive what we are asking for. (To Subscribe to the Elijah List subscribe here.)

2019 - Year for Overcoming Stubborn Strongholds by Bill Yount, Identity Network

2019 - Year for Overcoming Stubborn Strongholds by Bill Yount

Identity Network
Feb. 15, 2019
For many who feel they go one step forward in the Lord and then two steps backward, be encouraged. I sense the Lord saying, "I count the one foot forward and two steps backward as forward progress."

In football, when the team needs one yard for a first down and the player carries the ball forward one yard yet gets pushed back two yards, it's still marked as a first down. They call this forward progress and so does the Lord. He counts your one step forward, not your steps back.

I'm convinced that many who feel like quitting are actually making progress.

"Brothers, I do not count myself to have attained, but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal to the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus" (Phil. 3:13-14).

The Lord Sees Your Victory Before You See Your Struggle

"You are my King, O God; command deliverances for Jacob" (Ps. 44:4).

Many years ago at a Russ Bixler miracle meeting in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, I stood in proxy for my father, who for 25 years, couldn't stop smoking cigarettes. When I arrived home, my father was in the living room watching television. I whispered to my mother in the kitchen what I had done for my dad so he would stop smoking. I didn't know he overheard me telling mom. He walked into our kitchen and said, "Maybe that's the reason when I lit up a cigarette about 8 this evening it didn't taste right, so I put it out." Dad never smoked another cigarette the rest of his life! It was the same time I stood in proxy for him that evening 60 miles away.

On the other hand my mother, who was bound by cigarettes, fought the craving for 16 years. Each time she was tempted, she would go down to the basement of our home to an old box of jars and would kneel down, crying out to the Lord for deliverance. Finally after 16 years, the craving left her. I believe now that God wasn't counting the years she couldn't stop smoking but only the 16th year when she overcame it. The Lord for some reason knew something good was happening in her as a result of persevering. During this time, my mother learned compassion for people who struggled in their weaknesses, and many were delivered before she was, for she knew how to pray for them as one of them.

He is Weaning Many from Their Struggles

I believe this coming year will be a landmark for many who will break free from their struggles. Those who have cried out to the Lord for many years and yet are still bound will discover deliverance just because they didn't quit trusting the Lord for their victory. Although some will have instant deliverance, others will know they were being weaned from their bondage. Remember in our struggles we, as Believers, are not sinners struggling to become saints, we are saints struggling against sin.

My mother had major heart bypass surgery in her 70s. The doctors came to us in the waiting area and told us these words: "Because of what your mother has just been through, she's not going to look very good to you, but she looks great to us because of what she's been through." I sense many reading this article feel like they are not doing well at all in their own eyes and also as a result of what the enemy and what other people are saying to them. But I hear the Father saying, "Because of what you've been through, you look great to Me." Many who feel like fainting are actually doing well from what God sees.

The Lord takes in to account what we have been through and what we are presently battling. He understands why we are struggling. He remembers all of our struggles from the womb to the present day. The One who numbers the hairs on our head and knows our every weakness knows us best and loves us most. When everything is against us, He isn't.

Amazing Grace is When We Think We Have Blown It

"Since then we have a great High Priest who has passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to our confession. For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who was in every sense tempted like we are, yet without sin. Let us then come with confidence to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need" (Heb. 4:14-16).

Are you still struggling against sin? If so be encouraged, because that means you haven't quit. When you quit is when you are in trouble.

You are Crucified With Christ

Remember, you've been crucified with Christ. You were nailed to the cross with Him. No matter how much your old nature acts like it's still alive, it's dead. You are dead, dead to sin but alive unto God. You are free before you are free because of Calvary. You are free indeed. Go ahead and live unto God.

"I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me" (Gal. 2:20)

Bill Yount: "How God Unwraps Our Spiritual Gifts" The Elijah List

How God Unwraps Our Spiritual Gifts
Genesis 50:20 in the Message Bible says, "Don't you see, you planned evil against me but God used those same plans for my good, as you see all around you now—life for many people."
God used Joseph's hateful brothers, Potiphar's wife's false accusations and an unfair prison sentence to unwrap his dream. Then there was King Saul's spirit of jealousy and rage, which was used to unwrap David's crown for kingship. Also God used Judas' betrayal to unwrap Jesus' destiny to be King of kings and Lord of lords! Who is God using in your life to unwrap your destiny?
I sense many of God's people are frustrated by not being able to unwrap their spiritual gifts and callings. I am discovering that it takes all kinds of people around us to unwrap the gifts that God has placed inside of us. Can a gift unwrap itself? Neither can we. When it comes to unwrapping your spiritual gifts, you don't get to open them. God uses other people to do that, for your gift is not for you—it's for others!
How God Unwrapped the Prophetic Gift in My Life
Many years ago in our church as I led worship, I would experience God's powerful anointing. I loved leading worship and the church seemed to love it too. Let me caution you. When you fall in love with your gift and others begin to fall in love with it—be careful. That's when God usually brings people into your life to unwrap you from that gift that you got wrapped up in.
Shortly thereafter, a new elder came on the scene and was given the privilege and authority to call on people to lead worship. I noticed something—he wasn't calling on me. So I began to pray for him. As I prayed for him, nothing happened. I had to sit in the congregation and die in my seat as I longed to be up in the pulpit leading worship. Every time I would look at him up front, I felt a knife going in me. During this time, I would actually get physically sick going to church. (Photo via Unsplash)
Finally, the Lord walked me through Matthew 5:23-24"Therefore, if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother or sister has something against you, leave your gift there in front of the altar. First go and be reconciled to them; then come and offer your gift."
It took me many months to walk through forgiving this elder and asking God to bless him and then being able to bless him myself by taking him out to lunch. I then realized why God says to feed your enemies. When we do, Jesus pulls a chair up to that same table and knocks the walls down between you and the person you don't like. He causes you to have communion as you eat together!
Shortly after this, we were totally reconciled as though he had never hurt me. Right after we were reconciled, I will never forget the very next Sunday morning in our church. During worship, a Spirit of prophecy came upon me for the first time, and I gave a powerful prophetic word that went outside the walls of our church to other places.
After the service was over, God spoke to me. He said, "Bill, it wasn't that elder that moved you out of the pulpit from leading worship. I used that brother to move you, for you loved leading worship so much, you wouldn't have stepped down on your own. I used him to move you, for I had a better gift to give you, and you wouldn't have been able to receive this prophetic gift in the pulpit since you were all wrapped up in leading worship!"
Can't You Talk Louder, God?
Getting Past the 'Wrapping Paper' to Find the True Gift in Others
Many times in my life, I have not been able to get to know certain people because I didn't like how they were "wrapped"! They were so different than me, and how they ministered seemed to be a bit crazy. I have noticed something late in life—God seems to anoint people whom I wouldn't. And I am learning that just maybe they are doing something right after all. It's time we get past the wrapping paper and find the true gift in each other. Lately, God is bringing people back into my life so I can help unwrap their gift and help bring it forth to bless even my own life.
There is Always Something in the Box!
There was a father who had a little daughter who was wrapping his Christmas gift with the most expensive wrapping paper in the house. He didn't say anything to her because he loved her. On Christmas morning, the father began to open his gift from his daughter, and as he unwrapped the gift and opened the lid of that little box, he found nothing in it. He was so upset, he lost it and blew up at his little girl.
He said, "Honey, you used the most expensive wrapping paper we had to wrap my gift and there is nothing in the box!" The little girl responded and said, "Daddy, that box isn't empty, I blew kisses in it for you. I blew kisses in it for you, daddy!"
Not long after, the little girl was killed in an accident. When the father was so depressed, he would open up the lid of that little box and reach inside and pull out an imaginary kiss. (Photo via Unsplash)
Listen carefully—there is always something in the box! God has made every person on earth in His image, and even when we think someone has no value or has no gift, there is always something precious in every person. Many times we just don't see it.
We also need to get past one another's gifts and get to know each other. Our gifts can actually hide us and hinder people from getting to know us. I believe many of the most gifted in the Body of Christ are the loneliest. It's lonely at the top. They can't help feeling that people are after their gifts instead of loving them for who they are. I believe God is taking us from paper to people. I believe the greatest gift we can have on Earth is a friend.
Perhaps our greatest call is being a friend of God, a friend to sinners and a friend to others. God wants us to be known for who we are, not for what we do.I sense the more I am around people and just love them for who they are, their gifts begin to be activated, and so do mine! Bill Yount, Hagerstown, MD

You ARE Making Progress

For many who feel they go one step forward in the Lord and then two steps backward, be encouraged. I sense the Lord saying, "I count the one foot forward and two steps backward as forward progress."

In football, when the team needs one yard for a first down and the player carries the ball forward one yard yet gets pushed back two yards, it's still marked as a first down. They call this forward progress and so does the Lord. He counts your one step forward, not your push backs.

I'm convinced that many who feel like quitting are actually making progress.

"Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus." (Philippians 3:13-14 KJV)

The Lord Sees Your Victory Before You See Your Struggle

"You are my King and my God, who decrees victories for Jacob." (Psalm 44:4 NIV)

Many years ago at a Russ Bixler miracle meeting in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, I stood in proxy (stood in the place of) for my father, who for twenty five years, couldn't stop smoking cigarettes. When I arrived home, my father was in the living room watching television. I whispered to my mother in the kitchen what I had done for my dad so he would stop smoking. I didn't know he overheard me telling mom.

He walked into our kitchen and said, "Maybe that's the reason when I lit up a cigarette about eight o'clock this evening it didn't taste right, so I put it out." Dad never smoked another cigarette the rest of his life! It was the same time I stood in proxy for him that evening sixty miles away.

On the other hand my mother, who was bound by cigarettes, fought the craving for 16 years. Each time she was tempted she would go down to the basement of our home to an old box of jars and would kneel down, crying out to the Lord for deliverance. Finally after sixteen years the craving left her. I believe now that God wasn't counting the years she couldn't stop smoking but only the sixteenth year when she overcame it.

The Lord for some reason knew something good was happening in her as a result of persevering. During this time my mother learned compassion for people who struggled in their weaknesses and many were delivered before she was, for she knew how to pray for them as one of them.

The doctors came to us in the waiting area and told us these words: "Because of what your mother has just been through, she's not going to look very good to you, but she looks great to us because of what she's been through."

I sense many reading this article feel like they are not doing well at all in their own eyes and also as a result of what the enemy and what other people are saying to them.

The One, who numbers the hairs on our head and knows our every weakness, knows us best and loves us most. When everything is against us, He isn't.

Amazing Grace Is When We Think We Have Blown It

"Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has ascended into Heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet He did not sin. Let us then approach God's throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need." (Hebrews 4:14-16)

You are dead—dead to sin but alive unto God... You are free before you are free because of Calvary. You are free indeed. Go ahead and live unto God.

"I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave Himself for me." (Galatians 2:20 KJV)

The shofar or (ram's horn) is at times used in his meetings, breaking the powers of darkness over regions, churches and households. The shofar represents God's breath blowing into the nostrils of His people, reviving them and awakening the lost as he travels across the U.S.

Many of God's messages which Bill ministers prophetically, come out of everyday life with his family and friends. Bill is also a member of the Apostolic Company of Alliance International Ministries.
