Standing in support of Israel, Jews, and believers in all the nations, in the name of Jesus (Yeshua). Sharing biblical truth, encouragement, news and prophecy.
I am fascinated with mysteries and this mystery was discussed in his first best-selling book, The Harbinger. The Shemitah is the seventh year rest that God commanded Israel. The last day of the Shemitah year, which is also called the Shemitah on the Hebrew calendar, is Elul 29. That was the day that all debts were nullified.
Rabbi Cahn visited our offices a few days ago and I had the privilege of interviewing him on my podcast. We're excited about our new podcast and, slowly, my own listenership is growing. I invite you to hear Rabbi Cahn describe the Shemitah in his own words, much more in depth than I can do in this short report. He explains that originally the Shemitah was a blessing when all the debts could be wiped out. Wouldn't you love to have all your debts wiped out every seven years? But, as Israel got away from God and did not observe the Shemitah, it became an indication of God's judgment.
The Mystery of the Shemitah was a follow-up book that went into great depth about this mystery and talked about how on the 29th day of Elul 2001 (the week after 9/11) was the greatest drop in stock market history. Seven years later to the day on the Jewish calendar in 2008 was an even greater drop in the stock market. When the next Shemitah rolled around in 2015, and when it was around the time of the blood moons, many people were speculating on what would happen.
We have reported on this numerous times, including as recently as last week, on our Charisma News (and App). If you are interested in researching this, I invite to click on these articles:
This time, the crash did not come on a single day but was over a period of a couple of months and included enormous declines in other stock markets around the world as well as declines in trade and commodities. For example, China lost 43 percent of its stock market value in a two and half month period, as Rabbi Cahn explains.
What does all this mean for you and me? I believe that these mysteries are part of God's plan for man. I believe that God is calling for repentance. The Shemitah and God's judgment are a lot more than simply the decline in the value of the stock market. There are many other things at play, and the mystery is more interesting and in depth than I can possibly explain here. But it is interesting to note that the year 1973, when the United States legalized abortion on demand, was a Shemitah year. Last year, 2015, marked another Shemitah year, when same-sex marriage was approved by the Supreme Court.
As believers, we must be like the sons of Issachar to understand what is happening in our day. I believe Rabbi Cahn has helped provide tools almost more than any other leader in the believing community to discern what is happening. It is an honor to know him and it's an honor to have been able to publish these two books, which I hope you'll read and share with your friends.
