The first word in the Torah begins with the letter ב/bet (בראשית), while the last word in the Torah ends with the letter ל/lamed (ישראל).  Together, these two letters spell the word 'lev' (לב), which means heart. Torah is the heart of the Jewish people and is an expression of God's love towards all of mankind; by studying it, we can access the "heart" of God. Dear Rabbi Weisz, Thank you and your staff for a great job at Israel 365, Jerusalem 365, and Breaking Israel News. Great job on the new website! Praying for you everyday. Todah rabah! Sincerely, Susan Mello, New Hampshire

I have never considered myself a religious man but as a young man in my twenties I had the pleasure of seeing Israel on three separate occasions. Even though I am not a religious man the whole place and and all of the amazing people just make your heart beat differently. I hope that one day I will get to go back. Jeff
Shalom,

Today’s Israel Inspiration

The holy Bible begins with the letter ב/bet
(In the Beginning/בראשית) and ends with the
letter ל/lamed. Put the letters together and
you get lev/לב, which means ‘heart.’ The Torah
is the heart of the Jewish people and is an
expression of God's love towards all of mankind.

By studying it we can access the ‘heart’ of God.
