"Let There Be Light" ✡ Israel's Largest Menorah on the Water! - ISRAEL TODAY

And God said, "Let there be light," and there was light. And God saw the light that it was good, and God separated between the light and between the darkness.

GENESIS (1:3-4)

Today's Israel Inspiration

The days of Chanukah were set aside for greatness and light from the time of Creation. Let's look at the story of Creation in the Bible. Counting from the very first Hebrew word of the Torah ("Bereishit"/"in the beginning"), the 25th word is "ohr"/light, alluding to the light of Chanukah on the 25th day of Kislev! Just as God "saw the light that it was good," and then separated it from darkness, on Chanukah we recall that a little light and hope can dispel the darkness of despair. Meir Panim (lit. "lighting up faces") is brightening the lives of the poor in Israel and giving hope to struggling families and impoverished citizens this Chanukah.

Hi!  Just know that you all are in our thoughts and prayers. I have my Israel Flag attached to the outside of our house in support of Israel. After the world was so devastated about the awful violence on the people in Paris, France... I said to my church friends, "Israel has lived this way for 100+ years!  Now you know what they face every day!" ... My husband and I presently live in Arkansas. He is a Baptist Pastor. GOD bless and keep you and Israel safe is our prayer. Merle Huffman Stroh
