More Than 6,000 Christians to Unite in Jerusalem for ICEJ's Feast of Tabernacles - CHARISMA NEWS

This week, more than 6,000 Christians from almost 100 nations will be arriving in Jerusalem to take part in the annual Feast of Tabernacles celebration, which is sponsored by the International Christian Embassy Jerusalem and runs this year from Oct. 6-11.
"We are expecting one of our biggest crowds ever at this year's feast," said ICEJ President Dr. Jürgen Bühler. "Thousands of Christians are once again being drawn here from all over the world by the dynamic worship experience which surrounds this unique biblical festival. But there also is the added attraction of celebrating the 50-year jubilee of a reunited Jerusalem, and this means we are truly in for a banner feast."
The 38th annual Feast gathering will kick off on Friday night, Oct. 6, with an outdoor meal and concert at the Ein Gedi oasis, along the shores of the Dead Sea. The festival then moves up to Jerusalem for the rest of the week of Sukkot, with most events held at the Jerusalem Pais Arena. Other highlights include the popular Jerusalem March through the streets of the capital, and a concluding prayer vigil at the historic Tower of David inside the walled Old City.
The ICEJ's feast gathering will once again be the largest solidarity mission to Israel this year, and the country's most popular annual event for Christian tourists. The feast's economic impact on Israel is expected to be $18 to $20 million.
Over the past four decades, the Christian celebration of Sukkot has impacted literally hundreds of thousands of Christians and Jews alike. Multitudes of feast pilgrims have been enriched by the colorful worship experience and by their encounters with both ancient and modern Israel.
The International Christian Embassy Jerusalem was birthed out of the very first public Christian celebration of the feast in September 1980, at a time when Israelis felt a sense of isolation concerning their historic claim to Jerusalem. That summer, the last thirteen national embassies left the city for Tel Aviv in protest of the Knesset's passage of the "Jerusalem Law." In response, over 1,000 Christians from some 40 nations attending that first feast decided to open an International Christian Embassy in Jerusalem as an act of comfort and solidarity with the 3000-year old Jewish claim and connection to this city.
Given that the issue of Jerusalem has once again come to the fore, this year's feast is also dedicated to reaffirming Christian support for a united Jerusalem under Israeli sovereignty. Among our feast participants will be some 30 national and state parliamentarians from around the globe affiliated with the Israel Allies Foundation, who have come at Sukkot to stand in solidarity with Israel and the Jewish people in their claim to a united Jerusalem.

SPECIAL FEAST OFFERING

The Lord commanded the people of Israel to bring their offerings to Jerusalem during the Feast of Tabernacles (Deut. 16). Therefore, many pilgrims bring a special offering from their church or family to the Feast. While we can support Israel anytime throughout the year, this is a special opportunity to prophetically join all the nations gathered in Jerusalem and make a special offering before the Lord.
Send a Feast Offering

SEND A PRAYER REQUEST
The ICEJ has always appreciated the importance of prayer and intercession and we continue to encourage and organize prayer for Israel all around the world through our Isaiah 62 Prayer Initiative. Prayer will also play a crucial part in this year's Feast with daily sessions and a special prayer vigil scheduled. You are invited to send us your prayer requests to be brought before the Lord during the Feast of Tabernacles.

Holy Fire - Paul Wilbur

The response to last week's Paul Wilbur song Dance With Me was so large that I wanted to share this favorite one from 2008 with you.

Holy Fire, recorded live I believe in Jerusalem that year, at the International Christian Embassy Jerusalem (ICEJ) Feast of Tabernacles (Sukkot) conference, stirs up the desire to be re-fired with the Lord's holy fire. That is something we each need often, right? Right!

This particular YouTube selection has more than 50 of Paul's great songs in the playlist. So hit the start button, sit back (or listen on your mobile while carefully driving, recklessly skiing, or laying in peace on the beach somewhere hot, etc.) and enjoy your time with the Living God of Israel!

Shabbat Shalom (to those who are reading this on Friday/Saturday!)

Israel Recognizes Christian Zionism as a Strategic Asset - Israel Today

Israel Recognizes Christian Zionism as a Strategic Asset

Monday, July 03, 2017 |  Israel Today Staff
More and more, Israel views global, Bible-based support from Christians as a strategic asset in its struggle for survival.
The annual Herzliya Conference is Israel's premier forum on security and diplomacy, and is regularly addressed by the nation's top political and military leaders.
This year, it was also addressed by two representatives of the Christian Zionist movement.
Dr. Jürgen Bühler, executive directory of the International Christian Embassy Jerusalem (ICEJ), and Dr. Jerry Johnson, president and CEO of the National Religious Broadcasters, were both invited to deliver keynote speeches.
Israeli and Jewish attendees made note of the fact that Bühler's was the only speech at the conference that was opened with prayer.
After ICEJ spokesman David Parsons thanked God for the opportunity to stand there in defense of Israel, Bühler challenged his hosts to "think about the strategic opportunities that the evangelical world can offer to the State of Israel today and in the future."

Dr. Johnson added during his time at the podium:
"The Jewish people have been a blessing for Christianity. Christianity came out of Judaism. Freedom is an ultimate value in Christianity, and when you read the Hebrew scriptures you read about liberty, freedom and the rule of law. Israel stands alone in this region in defense of liberty, freedom and the rule of law."

Thousands of Christian Pilgrims Gather in Jerusalem to Affirm Support of the Nations on Sukkot - Adam Eliyahu Berkowitz BREAKING ISRAEL NEWS

Thousands of Christian Pilgrims Gather in Jerusalem to Affirm Support of the Nations on Sukkot

“And it shall come to pass that every one that is left of all the nations that came against Yerushalayim shall go up from year to year to worship the King Hashem of hosts and to keep the Sukkot.” Zechariah 14:16 (The Israel Bible™)
In a clear fulfillment of the prophecy in Zechariah, over 5,000 Christians from more than 90 nations came to Jerusalem to celebrate the holiday of Sukkot, which began Sunday evening October 16.
In what has become an annual pilgrimage, thousands came to participate in the 37th annual Feast of Tabernacles conference and celebration, hosted by the International Christian Embassy Jerusalem (ICEJ). The week-long festival, held from October 16-21, is an unmitigated outpouring of Christian support for Israel.

This year, in light of the UNESCO vote last week that granted Islam exclusive religious claim to Jerusalem, the conference takes on an even more urgent note.
The conference coincides with the week-long holiday of Sukkot, which, in Jewish tradition, has significance for all the nations of the world. During the holiday, a total of 70 bull sacrifices were brought to the Temple. In the Talmud, it is taught that Rabbi Eliezer said, “Why are 70 offerings brought on Sukkot? For the [merit of the] 70 nations of the world.” Sukkot is unique among all the Jewish holidays for this international element.

This year’s conference will feature several dozen pro-Israel Christian parliamentarians and government officials from more than twenty countries. Many of these visiting officials are affiliated with the Israel Allies Foundation, while several African nations are sending government delegations to represent their countries at this year’s Feast. The ICEJ also will host the largest ever groups of pilgrims from Chinese- and Spanish-speaking countries, continuing the trend in recent years of increasing attendance from Latin America and Asia.

The theme of the conference is “All the Families”, referring to the family of nations that trace their lineage back to Biblical Abraham.
And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and be thou a blessing. Genesis 12:2
The conference opened with a reading of Ezekiel’s vision of dry bones by the ICEJ national directors.
The hand of Hashem was upon me and Hashem carried me out in a spirit and set me down in the midst of the valley and it was full of bones. Ezekiel 37:1
The timely significance of the conference was emphasized when Apostle Rene Terra Nova from Brazil told of an amazing answer to prayer in his country. He proudly announced that as a result of their prayers, the Brazilian government retracted their vote of approval cast last week at the UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) on a resolution saying that the Temple Mount in Jerusalem had no connection to Judaism.

The first night of the conference was celebrated Sunday evening at Ein Gedi, a natural spring on the shores of the Dead Sea. With song and dance, several thousand Christian pilgrims displayed their love and support for the Holy Land.
A prayer session was held on the second day at the Garden Tomb, a rock-cut tomb considered by some Christians to be the site of the burial and resurrection of Jesus.
The conference will culminate in the spectacular Parade of Nations, in which thousands of pilgrims, many dressed in their nation’s traditional garb, will parade through Jerusalem.

The  conference also gives practical support to Israel. It is Israel’s largest annual
tourist event and the largest solidarity mission to Israel this year, injecting an estimated $16 million into Israel’s economy.
The ICEJ was founded during the first Christian celebration of the Feast of Tabernacles in October 1980, in response to the last thirteen national embassies leaving Jerusalem under threat of an Arab oil boycott. Today, the Christian Embassy is considered the world’s largest pro-Israel Christian organization, with established branches in over 85 nations and a reach into more than 160 nations worldwide.
