Let's Read the Bible Together! ✡ "Man Became a Living Creature" - ISRAEL365

Then the Lord God formed the man of dust from the ground and breathed into his nostrils the soul of life, and the man became a living creature.

וַיִּיצֶר יְ-הוָה אֱ-לֹהִים אֶת הָאָדָם עָפָר מִן הָאֲדָמָה וַיִּפַּח בְּאַפָּיו
נִשְׁמַת חַיִּים וַיְהִי הָאָדָם לְנֶפֶשׁ חַיָּה

Today's Israel Inspiration

Today's verse describes the Almighty creating man out of both the physical world and the upper, spiritual world - the body is formed from the dust of the earth, and the soul is gifted from the very essence of God. Little known is the etymological connection between the Hebrew word "adamah", which means ground, and the Hebrew word for man, "adam". This link is not random, rather the Hebrew language comes to teach us an important lesson of the relationship between humankind and the ground. Just as man comes from the "dust of the ground" and inhabits it, his duty in this world is to recognize that his own potential directly corresponds to a duty to the earth, which was also created by God in His great kindness. Believe it or not, there are countless hidden lessons such as this one that are found throughout the Hebrew Bible when you take a closer look at the wording God uses. With their unique methods and approach towards revealing secrets of the Bible, the Israel Institute of Biblical Studies will astound and amaze you with a new world of Hebrew education.

The Biblical Roots of the Word 'Hallelujah'

The English word "Hallelujah" is a Hebrew loanword: it came to us from Biblical Hebrew and has been absorbed in the exact same form in modern speech. But how did this come about?

Discovered: 1,800 Year-Old Column Engraved With Paleo-Hebrew Inscriptions

In Israel, archaeological digs are known to find ancient communities and structures beneath the ground along with relics left by the people who lived and worked there. These discoveries often confirm Biblical events and the location of ancient settlements.
