Billy Graham's Prescient Warning From 1962 - MICHAEL BROWN CHARISMA NEWS

Thanksgiving is one of the most special family times of the year. The roads are packed with travelers, and the airlines are at full capacity as grandparents, parents, children and other relatives journey across the country to spend a few days together. And that leads me to reflect on a very simple question: Is America more family-friendly today than it was in the fairly recent past? Are we, in 2018, more innocent or less innocent than we were, say, in 1962?
The opening lines of a 2012 article in The Saturday Evening Post say it all: "How much has America changed in the past 50 years? Imagine kids in American public schools now starting each day with a prayer."
Imagine!
Without a doubt, America was far from perfect in the early 1960s. In much of the nation segregation was the law of the land, and women certainly had far fewer opportunities than men, just to mention two of society's most glaring inequities. And it's true that the first issue of Playboy, featuring Marilyn Monroe in the nude, was published in 1953.

At the same time, there's no denying that America back then was a far more innocent, family-friendly country than it is today.
And so, 50-plus years ago, when we sat together and watched Leave It to Beaver, we didn't say to ourselves, "How corny! There's not a family in the nation like the Cleavers." Instead, it was as normal to us as it was entertaining (at least, it seemed to normal to many of us growing up in many parts of the country).
In a word, Americans in the late '50s to early '60s enjoyed watching Father Knows Bestand The Andy Griffith Show. Today, we enjoy watching Keeping Up with the Kardashians and Secret Diary of a Call Girl. (For the record, in contrast with Bruce-Caitlyn Jenner, the patriarch of the Kardashian family, Robert Young, who played the father on Father Knows Best, was never crowned "woman of the year.")
In the late '50s to early '60s, Annette Funicello was a popular, young female star singing songs like "Pineapple Princess." Today it's Miley Cyrus, singing songs like "Wrecking Ball"in the nude, riding a wrecking ball, on her music video.
What happened to our nation? How did things change so radically? Is there a spiritual answer that compliments the many valid, sociological answers?
Allow me to present a spiritual perspective.
Christian historian David Barton has argued that America suffered a steep decline in morality and education once organized public prayer was removed from our schools in June 1962. (For example, see this article on declining SAT scores, with relevant links. You can be the judge.)
For many years, this 22-word prayer had been prayed corporately by millions of schoolchildren: "Almighty God, we acknowledge our dependence on Thee and beg Thy blessing over us, our parents, our teachers and our nation."
In religious terms, it was generic (a Jewish child could say the words as readily as a Christian child), and the child of an atheist could choose to remain silent.
Still, without any clear legal precedent, the Supreme Court ruled against the prayer, and that has been the law of the land ever since.
What did Billy Graham have to say about this?
Early in 1962, he warned readers of the Postthat, "The issue of prayers in public schools is now before the Supreme Court and, if the Court decrees negatively, another victory will be gained by those forces which conspire to remove faith in God from the public conscience.
"American democracy rests on the belief in the reality of God and His respect for the individual. Ours is a freedom under law. But it is also a freedom that will evaporate if the religious foundations upon which it has been built are taken away."
He believed that the attempt to remove school prayer was part of "a movement gathering momentum in America to take the traditional concept of God out of our national life. If this movement succeeds, 'In God We Trust' will be taken from our coins, the Bible will be removed from our courtrooms, future presidents will be sworn into office with their hand on a copy of the Constitution instead of the Bible and chaplains will be removed from the Armed Forces."
He also argued that, "The Preamble of our national Constitution speaks of 'the blessings of liberty.' The men at Philadelphia could never have written that document if they had not had faith in God."
Was he right?
On the one hand, presidents still swear on the Bible when taking their oath, Bibles are still present in our courtrooms, "In God We Trust" is still on our coins and chaplains are still in our Armed Forces.
On the other hand, our essential Christian freedoms are under constant assault, and in spirit, the Bible is being increasingly removed from our courtrooms.
As for our Armed Forces, could Rev. Graham have imagined a military that paid for sex-change surgery for transgenders and that penalized chaplains for refusing to facilitate a same-sex "marriage"? And how about this for a headline? "Religious Freedom of Military Chaplains Under Attack for Event Saying Religious Freedom of Military Chaplains Is Under Attack."
In my view, Billy Graham was absolutely right in describing "a movement gathering momentum in America" which desired "to take the traditional concept of God out of our national life."
But there is a solution, and it is not found in simply bashing those who differ with our views. Instead, if each of us who claims to really know the Lord can demonstrate the beauty of our faith to a watching world, we can show the nation that God, in fact, has a better way.
Let's do it during this holiday season, let's continue through the end of the year, and let's make 2019 a year when millions of Americans see our faith and are provoked to turn to the Lord themselves.
Only a vibrant, consistent, holistic, life-giving movement like this can turn the negative tide.

Did a Leading Pastor Give a Prophetic Warning About Trump's Monday From Hell? - MICHAEL BROWN CHARISMA NEWS

John Kilpatrick
John Kilpatrick (New Jerusalem/YouTube)
This past Monday marked one of the most difficult days in the presidency of Donald Trump. Paul Manafort was convicted. Michael Cohen was convicted. Worse still, Cohen claimed that Trump was complicit with him in committing federal crimes.
Cries for impeachment were never louder. The liberal media was positively giddy. The radical leftwing was totally unhinged. This will be the end of Trump's presidency!
In reality, there's substantial debate as to whether Trump committed any crimes, even if Cohen was telling the truth. And in the days that followed, some liberal leaders, including Speaker Nancy Pelosi, backed away from impeachment calls.
But there's no doubt that this hellish Monday will haunt the president in the days to come. The question is: Did a prominent evangelical pastor predict this was coming just the day before?
John Kilpatrick came to national prominence as the pastoral leader of the Brownsville Revival (1995-2000), called by some church historians the nation's largest local-church revival. I served in leadership with Pastor Kilpatrick from 1996-2000 as the head of our ministry school, and I know him to be a man of integrity. So this video clip got my attention when I saw it a few days ago.
He had finished preaching his sermon on Sunday, Aug. 19, at the Church of His Presence in Alabama, when he shared this important message. Was it a direct warning about what broke loose the very next day?
For those unfamiliar with biblical imagery, Ahab and Jezebel were notorious leaders in ancient Israel, Ahab the king and Jezebel the queen. But it was Jezebel who was more sinister, the driving force behind her husband's sins.
It was Jezebel who killed Israel's prophets, recognizing them as a direct threat to her authority, since she herself was a non-Israelite idol worshiper. And it is this Jezebel-type influence that John Kilpatrick calls "witchcraft."
This is the biblical imagery used by Pastor Kilpatrick, who spoke of a new wave of attacks coming against the president as he sought to drain the swamp. Is this a genuine prophetic warning, accompanied by an urgent call to prayer? Watch, and judge for yourself.
Whatever your conclusion and whatever your view of the president, I hope we can agree that, at a time like this, the president and our nation need our prayers.

Twitter Locks My Account for Telling the Truth About Muslim Slaughter of Christians - MICHAEL BROWN CHARISMA NEWS

(Free-Photos/Pixabay)
For the first time, after more than 35,000 tweets, Twitter has locked my account. Why? Because I told the truth about radical Islam, and I told the truth about the slaughter of Christians in Nigeria. How did this violate Twitter's guidelines?
On Sunday, my article appealing to Nigerian president Muhammadu Buhari was posted on different sites. It was titled, "President Buhari, Please Stop the Muslim Slaughter of Nigerian Christians." A subtitle used on one site added, "Muslim herdsmen are massacring their Christian neighbors, and the Nigerian government refuses to act."
My initial tweet announced the article and urged Christians to share it, stating: "I don't often do this, but this is an urgent matter. Christians are being slaughtered in Nigeria—babies hacked up; children brutalized; women raped; people burned alive—while the Muslim govt. does nothing (or worse). PLEASE read and share."
As of this writing, it was retweeted 1,248 times and liked 737 times, and the article itself has been shared thousands of times.
The whole purpose of the article was to alert the international community to the atrocities being experienced by these Nigerian Christians, with the hope that with more awareness, pressure would come on President Buhari, himself a Muslim, to stand and act. (Many accuse him of being complicit in the slaughter.)
On my AskDrBrown Facebook page, Nigerian Christians shared some of their own horror stories. It was heartbreaking to read.
One man posted, "Thanks for speaking out on behalf of the Christians in Nigeria. The mainstream media seems to be quiet and no one seem to talk about it. Truthfully, the future of Nigeria's Christians looks potentially nightmarish with the level of calculated killings across the country."
Another wrote, "Sadly so. Am a Nigerian christian and I don't feel safe to travel to the north eastern of Nigerian because of presence of Boko Haram and Fulani herdsmen, kidnapping and killing innocent Christians and the name of Islam. And our government is handling the issue with kid gloves."
But on Twitter, an internet war broke out between some Nigerians accusing me of lying and spreading fake news and other Nigerians backing every word I said. In support, one man posted: "I can furnish you with pictures of babies and women being hacked to death. This is not even an argument. Whoever is defending these ills is obviously part of the illZ be assured that paid bots on this media will vigorously defend the horrible negligence of this administration."
Another posted a map from Amnesty Nigeria documenting the slaughter of Christians at the hands of (Muslim) Fulani herdsmen. The tragic facts are undeniable.
I responded forcefully to those denying the slaughter or claiming both Muslims and Christians were being killed equally, or that this was entirely political and not religious at all.
To one I wrote, "??? Muslims are slaughtering Christians. It's outright religious butchering. That's the truth, regardless of what the local media tells you."
And then, "I deeply disagree with you. We've been following this for years. It's nothing new. Just the Fulani herdsman and President Buhari are adding to the mix. (My last comment to you.) And yes, Muslims kill other Muslims. That's true. But that's the evil of radical Islam."
When I checked my Twitter feed late this morning, I was shocked to see that my account was limited for 12 hours (meaning, I can only send followers Direct Messages and cannot tweet anything of my own, make comments, or retweet or like other tweets).
What was the reason? Twitter listed these last two tweets, with this explanation: "What happened? We have determined that this account violated the Twitter Rules. Specifically, for:
  1. Violating our rules against hateful conduct. You may not promote violence against, threaten or harass other people on the basis of race, ethnicity, national origin, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, religious affiliation, age, disability or serious disease."
What? Hateful conduct? I was exposing hateful—actually, murderous—conduct. I was not promoting violence against other groups I was calling for the president of Nigeria to combat the violence.
Plus, I stated that Muslims also kill Muslims (an undeniable, almost daily reality) and I made specific reference to "radical Islam" so as not to indict all Muslims.
Yet somehow, I broke Twitter rules and engaged in hateful conduct. What a travesty! Twitter is silencing the very voices calling for justice and urging that innocent children, women and men be protected. How can this be?
I immediately protested their decision and received an automated reply that someone would get back to me within a few days. (This doesn't help much with a 12-hour suspension, does it?) And in order to start the 12-hour countdown, I had to delete those two "offending" tweets, which I did after taking screen shots of everything.
My only hope is that: 1) some of those angry with me for exposing the truth reported me to Twitter; 2) someone working for Twitter misread my factual reports as threats; and 3) Twitter did this entirely in error.
This once happened to me on Facebook, where a meme quoting Hamas was blocked and my account suspended. Facebook subsequently apologized and reinstated the post and my account. They thought I was calling for the extermination of the Jews in Israel. They didn't realize I was quoting Hamas.
So, again, giving the benefit of the doubt to Twitter, I'm hoping this was a simple error. If not, things on Twitter are even worse than I imagined.
Either way, here's how you can help me fight back. First, retweet my initial tweet. Second, share my article with your friends.
The blood of the innocent is crying out from the ground. This is the least we can do.

Detained for Hours by the Police as Men Spit on the Name of Jesus: My Day in Jerusalem - MICHAEL BROWN CHARISMA NEWS

I'm writing from the quiet of my hotel room in Jerusalem at midnight, but today was anything but quiet. (If you're impatient and want to jump ahead, watch this short video now. You'll see things got pretty intense.)
I was with a small team in a mixed area in Jerusalem, getting video footage to use on Christian TV. Some of the people were very religious, others more secular. But my goal was to interview the more religious Jews and, if they were interested in talking more, connect them with some local believers.
Soon enough, some of the religious Jews started yelling "Missionaries!", at which point we shut down the interviews, not wanting to create a scene.
But as we tried to leave quietly, one agitator started following me and yelling "Missionary!" in the crowded marketplace. He was then joined by other ultra-Orthodox Jews, who started to surround me and challenge me.
At that point, I decided that this was the perfect opportunity to share my faith boldly and clearly. I already had someone offering free (albeit loud and very negative) publicity. I told them that, yes, of course, I believe in Yeshua (Jesus), and yes, I'm still a Jew.
I turned to the onlookers, many of whom were not religious, asking them, "Is this illegal? Is it illegal for me to preach openly here? Is it illegal for a Jew to believe in Jesus?"
Of course, they told me it was not illegal. One of them even asked me, "Are you for Trump?"
When I said yes, he sang my praises to the onlooking crowd. Seriously. (I'll talk about this more in another article, but you'd be amazed to hear how much President Trump is respected by many Israelis.)
As for the ultra-Orthodox Jews who surrounded me and yelled at me, you have to see things from their perspective. What they read about Jesus in their own literature tells them he was a deceiver who did miracles by magical power. They believe he led people away from the one true God. And they associate him directly with the Holocaust and with Jewish suffering throughout history.
That's why one of them (captured on the video) shouted out in Hebrew, "We don't believe in Yeshua," then spat on the ground.
As for me, in their eyes, I was even worse. I was not only a missionary but also a fraud, since I still claimed to be a Jew. How my heart goes out to these men!
Eventually, after the main agitator kept harassing us, I decided the last thing he would do was drive us away. So as long as he yelled, I stayed and shared my faith.
But he had called the police, claiming (falsely) I was breaking the law. And then, when he pushed his phone right up to my face (literally) and I pushed it away, he started shouting that I attacked him. Seriously!
Finally, two policewomen arrived and because of his accusations, we had to go to the local police station. The whole process took about four-five hours, with the great majority of the time spent sitting without a phone, doing nothing. (Of course, I was praying silently and thanking God for this special day, also praying for my accuser, who sat across from me the whole time.)
The big problem for me was that I'm fluent in biblical Hebrew but weak in modern Hebrew, so I missed a lot of what my accuser was saying and was concerned I couldn't explain things clearly to the police officers.
Finally, an interrogator arrived, spending about 20-30 minutes with my accuser, then interviewing me. By this time, we had this same video up on YouTube, so he could get a feel for what was happening. And he fully understood I had done nothing wrong or illegal.
Then he asked me, "Are you a missionary?"
In the Jewish world, especially Israel, this has very bad connotations. But since I had made clear to him that I was a public, unashamed believer in Jesus and that I share my faith with my people, I answered in the affirmative.
To my delightful surprise he said, "That's OK. Missionaries are good!"
A few minutes later, with a smile and without any paperwork to take with me, he told me I could go.
Now it had been hours since my phone was taken from me, so Nancy and my family and ministry team and friends had no idea where I was or the details of what happened. But, when I walked out of the police station, before I could call home and tell the full story, I was greeted by three more ultra-Orthodox Jews. One shouted "missionary" and took my picture with his cell phone. I greeted him with a big smile.
Another said with a smile, "So Michael Brown is now violent?" (It looks like he knew me already!) I laughed with him, realizing that he knew the story was phony.
Then he said to me, "You should bring this message to Bethlehem."
I said, "I'm going there this weekend to speak at a controversial, anti-Zionist conference as a friend of Israel!"
He responded, "I know!"
And then, asking if he could revert to Hebrew (since we were speaking in English), he said, "For this one time, I wish you success!"
What a day in Jerusalem!
