Will You Embrace What God is Releasing?" Michael Van Vlymen, Carmel, IN The First Encounter Several years ago, I had a powerful and unusual encounter from the Lord. It was in the middle of the night that I sat up waiting upon the Lord in prayer, and felt the presence of a powerful angel enter the room. Although I could not see him, I was able to feel his presence in a most tangible way. I was excited to see what the Lord had for me, however, when the angel began to speak the power of his voice shook me violently to the core of my being. I literally felt like I was going to vibrate apart, as his words hit me one by one. The only part of the message I was able to receive was, "This is the message for the servants of the Lord," because I crawled out of my chair and ran from the room! God in His mercy sent the angel again the following day to deliver the message, but the next time the angel veiled himself so that I could receive it. A Second Chance and a Second Encounter Several weeks ago, I was spending a few days with a friend and during the night decided to visit his prayer chair and wait on the Lord. I worshiped and prayed for an hour or so when suddenly several doors appeared around me. The Lord spoke to me and said, "Open the door to your right." So I got up from the chair and opened it and then returned to the chair. When I returned to the chair, I felt a powerful presence enter the room. It was a bit uncomfortable. This presence that I felt immediately reminded me of the encounter I had where I ran from the room. I heard the Lord's voice, "Do you want to run away, or will you stay and see what I have for you?" I didn't really have to even think about it. I had always felt bad that I didn't have enough faith to stay in that chair during the earlier encounter. "No," I said. I would stay. As soon as I made the decision, the power intensified. I again heard the Lord ask me the question. "Do you want to run away, or will you stay and see what I have for you?" Although I was starting to feel like it could go either way, I deeply desired to stay and told the Lord so. Immediately the presence fell upon me and engulfed me. It felt like I was in the middle of some powerful electric current and it was coursing through me at the same time. As much as it challenged me (and it did) I kept choosing to stay. As I sat there in the chair, the Lord took me through a series of encounters, each one more powerful and challenging then the previous one. The combination of what was happening and the raw power of God upon me made it a bit difficult to continue to choose to stay in His awesome presence. It was something I had never experienced before. Before it was all over, the Lord touched my lips and my feet with His power and took me into a heavenly place, showing me how the stars and the heavens were mapped with His writings across them. I then found myself in the company of an angel who talked to me about a specific place on the earth. The Lord then showed me another angel who was set in place to provide protection.  As I stood there in this place, waiting and looking around me, I wondered if the Lord had more to show me or if He would take me back to the prayer chair. About ten minutes later He returned me to my friend's chair. I am not embarrassed to say that this visitation was challenging to me. I have had some interaction with the things of Heaven, but this was something on a level I had never experienced before. To be completely transparent, it was only by His grace that I was able to remain in that chair. The Revelation—Will You Choose to Stay? The Lord then spoke to me about the things He had shown me. The Lord said that there is an unprecedented increase of angelic activity being released upon the Body if Christ. He said the presence and power they carry will be challenging to experience. Like the visitation I had where I ran from the room, we as the Body will have to make a choice. Will we choose to embrace what the Lord is releasing in this hour or choose to stay a comfortable distance away? Will we stand on the Lord's side when many will keep the status quo so as not to upset the way things are or have always been? Will we choose comfort in the face of adversity and the manifestation of God's awesome power? The Lord said the continuous increase I felt was just a taste of what it will look like.  He said He touched my mouth because He will give us the words to say as we yield our tongues to Him. He touched my feet to anoint them with direction, for He has mapped our course in the heavenlies.  The Lord said that the angels are ready to fulfill their role to not only direct but to protect as we go. I was also reminded that I was asked to open the door as all this began. It was my choice that began this visitation. A Call to Stand Firm I was reminded of Daniel, Ezekiel, Elijah, Enoch and others whose lives were marked by the power of God being manifest in an open and tangible way. Read about them and you will see that their lives were not religion as usual. Reading Joel chapter two, we see that God is pouring out His Spirit upon all flesh. Read the whole chapter again and know what is happening. There is a clarion call. Wow, Saints! This word was a timely article along with the others we've posted over the past few days. I hope you all take a moment to read through this and hear God for yourself in what Michael Van Vlymen shares in this latest article.

God is on the move...moving people into their destinies. Many have just felt like they were in a "holding pattern" as Michael shares here:

Many people have said that they feel like they are in a holding pattern. They know God wants to use them and He has given them confirmations again and again, but they are not yet moving. The Lord said that the blue sparkles spoke of the things of Heaven and being heavenly-minded—seeing and doing from Heaven's perspective and being prepared in that. The jet being motionless speaks of the fact that we really have been launched, yet the lack of movement in or into our calling looks and feels unnatural and abnormal. We feel like we should be moving.

God is Showing Us Signs and Wonders!

We are in a time where God is revealing Himself in powerful ways to confirm the things He has promised us and to direct us with a supernatural precision. In just listening to some of the testimonies of the prophetic voices lately, you'll see that the signs and wonders they share show that we have a supernatural God. These testimonies are only increasing.

Every day "regular" Christians are experiencing incredible things in this hour that tell me there is increase coming on many levels. I have felt it for awhile now that the Lord is getting ready to launch people into their callings and destinies. It's going to be powerful and it's going to be supernatural.

"I will show wonders in the heavens above and signs on the earth below, blood and fire and billows of smoke." (Acts 2:19 NIV)

Our Walk With Him

This week, the Lord spoke to my wife Gordana and me, and gave us a word for those who are in a season of waiting for that launching to take place. Last Sunday as we were driving to church, Gordana said, "What Scripture would you like me to read?" I replied, "Whatever the Lord shows you." As she turned through the New Testament, she got to the book of James, chapters 2- 4. When she opened to those chapters, her Bible was suddenly covered with brilliant blue sparkles. We couldn't help but believe that the Lord wanted us to read those Scriptures. As she read those chapters, I felt the Lord was telling us the importance of our walk with Him.

"And the Scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God." (James 2:23 KJV)

We should believe God in the promises He has given us, just as Abraham believed. Our walk should be Christ-like, showing mercy and love and living with godly humility as we seek to do His will on the earth.

"But He giveth more grace. Wherefore He saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble." (James 4:6 KJV)

Walking in Power

I felt that God was saying through these Scriptures that He is fine-tuning His people to walk in power but there are adjustments to be made in us so we can carry that power. Although the Lord told us many things from those chapters, the overwhelming message was that we are in final preparation where God is bringing a greater level of sanctification so that we might be launched into the plan the Lord has for us.

About twenty minutes after Gordana read those Scriptures, we just worshipped God for making it so clear. By His willingness to use signs and wonders to really get our attention, we again experienced something totally off the charts. As we drove along on an almost deserted street on our way to church, Gordana shouted to me, "Look at that plane!" When I turned to look, quite frankly, I was stunned at what I saw.

I have seen many strange things these past few years but this really challenged me. There, hanging in mid-air motionless, was a passenger jet probably no more than 300-500 yards away from us. My first reaction was to try to reason and come up with a natural explanation. I could not find one. 

A jet, in a banked turn, was hanging in the air like a picture hung on a wall and we were both seeing this as clear as day. The jet remained motionless for about 15-20 seconds as we sat there in the middle of the street looking. Then it just took off. I pondered this for several hours and the Lord then showed me that the earlier sign in the Bible and this sign in the heavens were related.

Many people have said that they feel like they are in a holding pattern. They know God wants to use them and He has given them confirmations again and again, but they are not yet moving. We feel like we should be moving.

The fact that the jet was only motionless for a very short time told me that this season of waiting will be very short and then we will be released to go, even as we have desired to go...and some are going eve now! This day of signs and wonders not only spoke to us but was the Lord's confirmation for those who are in that season that feel like a "holding pattern." This word is for you.

Believe God, stay in faith and get ready to be launched!

We are posting a couple words on the supernatural ways of God today. One was an earlier post by Kent Simpson and this one is a most intriguing one as well by Michael Van Vlymen.

Both write about angelic activity and speaking in tongues...these activities go hand-in-hand. More and more people are being drawn to the supernatural and how heavenly activity works in our everyday lives.

Remember this Scripture as you read about angels today: "For He will command His angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways" (Psalm 91:11).

"Singing in Tongues and Visiting Angels"

One of the great blessings of the day that we are in is the fact that the veil between the seen and the unseen is getting thinner and thinner. More people every day are encountering God's angels in visitations and in dreams and visions. It is a huge encouragement that God is ever-present in our lives!

"Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you" (Deuteronomy 31:6 NIV).

Some of my favorite encounters with angels have been when they appear as men. Often when angels interact with us in this way, we don't even realize they are angels. Many times we believe that they are just nice strangers that God has sent to help us or encourage us.

"Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it" (Hebrews 13:2 NIV).

One of my favorite encounters happened when I went to pick up my wife Gordana from work.

My Prayer Walk Around the Mall and Singing in Tongues

My wife Gordana used to work at a salon in a shopping mall about twenty minutes from our house. One day I borrowed her car to use for the day. I figured that I would just pick her up at the end of her day. The only variable in this was, if my wife had more clients or customers show up after I got to the mall, I would either have to wait for her to finish the extra work, or leave and make a return trip.

Wouldn't you know that this day was one of those days. I had actually gotten to the mall about a half an hour early, and then I found out that my wife had just committed herself to two more hours of work. I was looking at a two and a half hour wait. I didn't really want to drive home and waste the driving time or the gas, yet I didn't really want to hang out in the mall for two and a half hours. You can only cruise the food court for free samples so many times before they start looking at you funny. What was I to do?

I suddenly got a brilliant idea! Why don't I do a prayer walk around the mall! That would kill a lot of time and I would actually be doing something useful—changing the spiritual atmosphere. So I set out on my prayer walk. I walked around the interior of the mall, praying out loud in tongues. Sometimes I walked into the various stores and sometimes I did not. I sang in tongues a lot as I went along. People sing right?

Well after one lap, I still had loads of time, so I did another lap. After the second lap, I still had way too much time left, so I decided to move my prayer walk to the outside of the building. I then began walking around the outside of the mall. I didn't realize until I began that going around the outside of the mall would be considerably more walking! But I had committed myself. I did my prayer walk around the mall and made it back to the main entrance...a little tired but spiritually refreshed.

The Angel Over the Mall

I still had about twenty minutes of free time, so I headed to the food court. I figured I could use the facilities and get something to drink. As I walked into the food court, a handsome young black man in his mid-thirties approached me. He smiled and held out his hand and shook mine and said, "I want you to know that I appreciate you being here today."

I was a little confused at that point. There was something in the way he spoke that carried something more than just his words. Then he spoke again, but this time he spoke to my mind and all confusion was immediately cleared up.

He said, "I am the angel over this mall," and he turned and walked away. I have since done many more prayer walks at the mall, but have not seen him again.

As Hebrews 13:2 tells us, "Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for thereby some have entertained angels unawares."

For those who hear testimonies such as this and also desire to have more interaction with the things of Heaven, this is the time. Ask the Lord for a greater awareness of the Kingdom in your life!
