Governor Mike Huckabee, 2016 presidential candidate, received the Friend of Zion award at gala event in Jerusalem. Dr. Mike D. Evans, founder of the Friends of Zion Museum in Jerusalem, presented him with the award for his support for the State of Israel and the Jewish people. Huckabee said: "Anybody who is going to Israel should go to see the Friends of Zion Museum. It is just remarkable and is getting so much buzz in Israel and abroad."
Huckabee also visited the interactive FOZ museum tour in order to learn firsthand about the long history of friendship and cooperation on non-Jewish people of all religions helping the Jewish nation in the last 200 years, including the holocaust as well as through the reformation of the state of Israel.
Mike Huckabee joins many prominent political, religious, business, entertainment and sports figures who champion the museum's value and impact. During the museum's first year, the museum hosted tens of thousands of people from around the world, from school students to a Nobel Laureate, and from senior statesmen and women to NBA basketball stars. (To see a video of many such visitors, go here.)
The Friends of Zion (FOZ) Museum was established with the vision of serving as a bridge, enabling people from around the world to join the scores of people throughout history who have supported the people, the promise and the State of Israel.

Mike Huckabee: Trump Will Recognize Jerusalem as Israel's Capital
Wednesday, February 15, 2017 | Israel Today
While Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is in Washington for his first meeting with President Trump, former Arkansas governor and presidential candidate Mike Huckabee was once again in Israel.
Huckabee told local media that Trump's commitment to Israel remains as strong as ever, even if his attention is currently on other topics.
Mike Huckabee has some strong words for Obama’s recent back-stabbing act towards Israel. As he says, “This is not about Democrats, Republicans. Left, right. This is about right and wrong. This is about evil, good.” Such strong and supportive words. He ACTUALLY gets it! He does’t even want to call Israeli communities “settlements” because that undermines the fact that the land has been Jewish Land for thousands of years! God gave the Jewish People the Land of Israel! You can’t argue with that.
Mike Huckabee just hit it out of the park on every pro-Israel issue
Will the US-Israel relationship change under a Trump White house. Mike Huckabee says – you betcha!
Bedrooms in Judea and Samaria were more of an issue than bombs in Iran under the Obama White House.
Should Israel continue building in Judea and Samaria. Mike Huckabee says – you betcha!
Will Hezbollah and Hamas continue their military buildup on Israel’s borders. Let’s hope that Israel’s enemies on their borders will be brought down to the level of Cuba alongside the USA’s southern border. Poor nations cannot manufacture weapons and threaten their neighbors.
The transition period for the new Trump administration is comical. The media are howling if he doesn’t name all his cabinet picks in 30 minutes. Of course, if he did that, they’d scream that he wasn’t deliberate enough.
One interesting discussion at the moment is a potential role for Mike Huckabee. The former Arkansas governor is rumored to be in line for the ambassadorship to Israel.
That’d be a great pick.
In an interview with Eric Bolling at FOX, Huckabee said that, in fact, he had not discussed that position with Trump. The media had been reporting late this week that the deal was sealed. Somebody is not telling the truth!
But in the event Huckabee is installed as ambassador, does that make it more likely the U.S. embassy will be moved from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem?
Former Arkansas governor refutes report citing source who said he would transfer the US embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.
Former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee on Friday night denied that he has been asked to serve as America's ambassador to Israel by President-elect Donald Trump.
"Media buzz that I was named Amb to Israel is NOT true. Was never discussed with PE Trump," Huckabee tweeted in response to a Daily Mail report citing a presidential transition official who said that Huckabee would be the United States' top diplomat in Israel during the Trump administration.
The Daily Mail had initially cited the source as saying Huckabee's first order of business as ambassador would be transferring the US embassy in Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.
Huckabee met with the president-elect Friday at Trump Tower in New York. When asked by reporters why he was meeting Trump, Huckabee said "I'm just here for the Starbucks," the Daily Mail reported.
He further stated that "the only person giving out jobs in this building is President-elect Donald Trump, not me."
Israel's ambassador to the US Ron Dermer had reportedly met with several ambassadorial candidates on Thursday and offered Trump his advice for the post, according to the Daily Mail.
The two-time White House hopeful, former Fox New Channel weekend host and former governor of Arkansas will be America’s next ambassador to Israel, a presidential transition official confirmed to DailyMail.com on Friday. He is scheduled to meet with President-Elect Donald Trump Friday at 2:00 p.m.
Huckabee, an ordained Baptist preacher and electric bass player, will become the tip of Trump’s spear as he seeks to shake up U.S. foreign relations in the Middle East, beginning with relocating America’s embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.
“That’s going to happen,” the transition official said. “Governor Huckabee is going to see it through.”
Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee will be America’s next ambassador to Israel, a transition official told DailyMail.com.
Huckabee was among Trump’s first Republican primary competitors to support him, appearing at a January 28 Iowa rally Trump held to raise money for veterans charities.
There are few who, in their lifetime, have done more to advance the conservative, founding principles of America than Phyllis Schlafly.
Monday, the 92-year-old grassroots activist and organizer, who had dedicated more than 70 years in public service passed away at her family home in Saint Louis, Mo. The Eagle Forum, which she founded to advance a Christian, pro-family, pro-life agenda, made the following announcement.
An iconic American leader whose love for America was surpassed only by her love of God and her family, Phyllis Schlafly, an indomitable pro-family grassroots advocate and organizer, was 92 years old. Mrs. Schlafly was preceded in death by her beloved husband Fred and is survived by six children along with 16 grand and 3 great grandchildren.
Phyllis Schlafly spent an astounding 70 years in public service of her fellow Americans. Her focus from her earliest days until her final ones was protecting the family, which she understood as the building block of life. She recognized America as the greatest political embodiment of those values. From military superiority and defense to immigration and trade; from unborn life to the nuclear family and parenthood, Phyllis Schlafly was a courageous and articulate voice for common sense and traditional values. She authored 27 books and thousands of articles. She spoke tens of thousands of times across the United States.
Her joy in life was evident to all through her smile and wit. Funeral arrangements are pending.
Among the first to respond to the announcement was Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump, who said he had just spoken with Schlafly directly a few days prior to her passing. He said:
"Phyllis Schlafly is a conservative icon who led millions to action, reshaped the conservative movement, and fearlessly battled globalism and the 'kingmakers' on behalf of America's workers and families. I was honored to spend time with her during this campaign as she waged one more great battle for national sovereignty. I was able to speak with her by phone only a few weeks ago, and she sounded as resilient as ever.
"Our deepest prayers go out to her family and all her loved ones. She was a patriot, a champion for women, and a symbol of strength. She fought every day right to the end for America First. Her legacy will live on in the movement she led and the millions she inspired."
Family Research Council President Tony Perkins was also among the very first to respond to Schlafly's passing. He noted that she would be remembered most for her "courageous leadership in the face of seemingly insurmountable odds."
"With the political establishment, the media, and academia all arrayed against her, she organized a grassroots movement that not only stopped the Equal Rights Amendment but became the foundation for the pro-life, pro-family movement we have today," he said. "I have little doubt that the political and cultural landscape of America today would have long ago been devoid of true conservatism if not for her leadership. She never surrendered her principles and she never gave in to intimidation.
"Her love for God and this country drove her to fight for the Constitutional principles that founded this nation. We honor Phyllis for the lessons that she taught us all. I'm proud to have stood alongside her for faith, family and freedom."
Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, was among the many American politicians who was influenced at an early age by Schlafly's seminal work, A Choice, Not an Echo, a book that launched the conservative grassroots political movement. He later had a chance to develop a personal friendship with her.
"She was brilliant, tough, tenacious, and driven by absolute adherence to principle and not to personalities," he wrote in a statement on social media Monday night. "I will miss her personally, but the conservative cause has lost its matriarch. And there is no one even close to replacing her. God bless you Phyllis, for changing the world!"
Students for Life of America President Kristan Hawkins was among the many conservative women influenced by Schlafly, and later became a close personal friend of the constitutionalist icon. She told Breitbart News on Monday night that Schlafly was one of her personal heroes and mentors, who "inspired millions to the fight against abortion and the disastrous Equal Rights Amendment which would have made abortion a constitutional right."
"Phyllis is the reason the Republican Party is a pro-life party," she said. "Phyllis will be missed yet her legacy will live on through my generation and in the young women who are fearless in the fight for the lives of the preborn and their mothers on their campuses and in their workplaces and communities."

The Brody File first broke that news that Mike Huckabee WILL appear with Donald Trump at his event tonight in Des Moines. He’ll do the undercard debate on Fox News and then head over to the Trump rally, which is about 10 minutes away from the debate site.
It makes perfect sense for Huckabee to do this. First of all, he actually likes Trump and gets along well with him. Plus, he’s not enamored with Cruz at all. Just watch my latest interview with him here on The Brody File blog where he rips Cruz on his multiple positions on multiple issues.
If things don’t work out for Huckabee in this run for the presidency, he’d make a logical choice for VP. Why? He has executive leadership experience in government (former Arkansas Governor); he would play well with evangelicals who may be skeptical of Trump; he’s actually pretty popular with African-American voters in the south (just look at his poll numbers when he was governor of Arkansas); and finally, he’d be the perfect VP candidate to go after Hillary Clinton. Why? He took on the Clinton political machine in Arkansas and won (look it up) and the VP candidate is usually the traditional attack dog. Well, Huckabee attacks with a smile and humor, which is the perfect way to take on Clinton. And he’ll soften up Trump to a degree as well. Hmmm…could be interesting.
(Washington, D.C.) -- Americans are increasingly on edge when it comes to personal and national security. They see the Mideast on fire. They see growing terror on our streets. No wonder they are looking for a President who truly understands the nature and magnitude of the threats we are facing and has the courage, knowledge and experience to keep Americans and our allies safe.
That's why I found last week's conference organized by the Republican Jewish Coalition as so important. All of the remaining 14 GOP presidential candidates addressed the group at the Ronald Reagan building here in Washington, D.C. Regardless of their current standing in the polls, each candidate was given 30 minutes (a 20 minute speech and about 10 minutes of Q&A) to explain their views on U.S. foreign policy and national security issues, the threats emanating from the Middle East, and U.S.-Israeli relations.
While I had a previous commitment and was not able to attend, I watched online and found it especially helpful to observe -- back-to-back -- the presentations made by "The Final Four," the four candidates Evangelical Christians, especially in Iowa, are most closely and carefully watching to see if God is raising up one of them to be the next President of the United States. Why? Because it gave me a chance to compare their principles, their policies and their experience, as well as their personal style and tone on some of the most important issues in the race.
Who are "The Final Four," in my view? Senator Ted Cruz of Texas and Senator Marco Rubio from Florida, the two brilliant, up-and-coming, and very compelling young Cuban conservatives; and Governor Huckabee of Arkansas and former Senator Rick Santorum from Pennsylvania, the two deeply principled, tried and tested, and very experienced previous Iowa Caucus winners.
Each made a compelling presentation, and yet each was so markedly different in tone and approach.
What stood out to me was the fact that both Rubio and Santorum spoke about the threat of "Apocalyptic Islam," not just Radical Islam. Both used that specific term. Both were quite fluent in explaining what they meant by the term, the threat of these genocidal forms of eschatology, and why it's important for the next President to understand this treat and be prepared to neutralize it. This was significant.
Neither Cruz nor Huckabee discussed Apocalyptic Islam with the RJC, though both made excellent presentations. Cruz hit the issue of Radical Islam quite hard. Huckabee spent much more time than the others talking about his love for Israel and why he has been traveling there and leading tours of Israel for 42 years. Hopefully both Cruz and Huckabee will discuss the issue of Apocalyptic Islam in detail in the future, though this was an ideal venue to have done so.
I encourage you to watch each of the four presentations, share them on social media, and discuss them with family and friends.
In several recent columns, I have noted that as America continues hurtling down a dangerous path toward implosion, as darkness falls in the Middle East and North Africa, as the forces of evil advance and the forces of freedom retreat, anyone who cares about the American people and the people of the epicenter needs to pay very close attention to the American presidential race. Specifically, I made the case that:
We need a Commander-in-Chief who truly understands the magnitude of the threats posed by Radical and Apocalyptic Islam.
We need a President who has serious ideas about how to neutralize such threats, and has solid national experience that can assure us that he or she is really ready to confront this evil.
We need a President who sees Israel as a faithful ally — not an adversary — in this showdown with the jihadists.
We need a President who rejects the insane Iran nuclear deal, and the notion of allowing Russia and Iran to run wild in Syria.
Commander-in-Chief is not an entry level position.
There is no time for on-the-job training in the White House for a new President who has little or no experience thinking about foreign policy and national security issues.
The next President must come in ready for war — because that’s what we’re in, and the stakes are simply too high to go with an untested outsider or newcomer.
Clearly, Cruz and Rubio have the most momentum, money, and higher poll numbers at the moment. Some analysts believe the GOP nomination contest could come down to a battle between Cruz and Rubio to be the conservative standard bearer in a fight against Donald Trump. That very well may be -- and that would be a very spirited and fascinating contest. Indeed, it already is.
That said, Evangelicals should not rule out a possible late surge by either Huckabee or Santorum. Why? Because Iowans have a history of breaking late.
The latest poll indicates only 19% of Iowa likely GOP caucus voters have made up their mind; 81% are still shopping around. They get to meet the candidates and ask them questions face to face. They are weighing each contenders pros and cons. They are taking their job of winnowing the field very seriously, as they always have. Remember: Huckabee won Iowa in 2008, while Santorum won Iowa in 2012. Indeed, in the 2012 cycle, Santorum was at the bottom of the polls in Iowa until three days before the caucuses and then was able to persuade Iowans to break for him at the last moment. This gave him a come-from-behind victory in Iowa, which he dramatically parlayed into primary victories 10 additional states, finishing second in the nomination battle to Romney. Could this happen again with either Huckabee or Santorum? It could. Iowa Evangelicals really like and trust these two. And it's important to note that Evangelical Christians make up about 57% of the Iowa GOP caucus voters.
People have asked me if I have settled on one candidate yet. I have not. I've met them all. I see plusses and minuses in each.I'm not looking for a perfect, flawless leader. And I'm continuing to pray for wisdom, discernment and clarity. Hope you are, too.
