Responding to the attack on families - ONE FOR ISRAEL

SHALOM!
Families are a key building block in God's created order and reflect different aspects of the Godhead to us. Yet families are under attack like never before. Romantic relationships have become more and more disposable as the world wanders away from God's ways. God's design of male and female is being challenged, and the meaning of love has become so twisted.

At ONE FOR ISRAEL we invest a great deal of time in teaching about love, relationships, marriage, and the family. Some of the students who graduated recently have been specifically trained to serve the Body of Messiah with counseling for couples and families - something so desperately needed in our country, and in many countries all over the world.

“And I will show you a still more excellent way…”

“If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give away all I have, and if I deliver up my body to be burned, but have not love, I gain nothing. Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends. As for prophecies, they will pass away; as for tongues, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will pass away.”
(1 Corinthians 13:1-8)
Shared passions

We were excited to have these very special visitors to ONE FOR ISRAEL recently - the famous soccer player Gustavo Boccoli and his wife, Josiane!

Born in Brazil, Gustavo has spent most of his footballing career playing with the Maccabi Haifa soccer team in Israel. Besides a shared enthusiasm for soccer, my wife and I share another passion with Gustavo and Josiane: we are eager to help Israeli believers navigate the complexities of marriage and family according to Kingdom values. Below you can see them with the book they have written, and they also spend time ministering and teaching on the subject.

The Power of One

The Bible begins with a union of man and wife in the Garden of Eden, and ends with the wedding of the Lamb in Revelation. Genesis teaches that man and wife are designed to became “one flesh”, and at the end of time we will join to become united at last with the God who has been invisibly present with us all of our lives.

While meditating on God’s design that man and woman should become ONE – that the goal was unity – I realised that this too was a picture of our relationship to God as his people.

Double celebrations! - ONE FOR ISRAEL

SHALOM!
Tomorrow is graduation day for the students at our Bible college. We are very proud of them and their efforts to become equipped and ready for God's service.

I am also delighted to tell you that we have been celebrating with our faculty and staff, since our Bible college recently passed our 5-year accreditation visit with flying colors. We not only maintained our status as a fully accredited academic institution, but those who visited to do the inspection were very impressed, and had many positive comments to make. Glory to God!

Graduation Ceremony

It's so important in these days that we are laying the infrastructure, ready to train and teach many people the full counsel of God.

We do not take our role in God's kingdom lightly, but understand the seriousness of the task before us. That is why it is always so meaningful for us at this time of year, to see young Israelis, Jewish, Arab, from different cultures and backgrounds in Israel, all awarded with recognition of their diligent studies in the Word of God. We also remain in awe and wonder at the mighty God who brings us together in unity, to serve as one family in his name.

Join us in praising God for all he is doing among us in Israel today! The kingdom is advancing, God's people are being raised up, trained to reach others, and united in his Son.

#1 Bestseller on Amazon!

While we're celebrating, we're also excited to see that the new book we've been working on has become the #1 bestseller in Christian Bible Exegesis & Hermeneutics on Amazon! Thank you to all who have purchased a copy - we hope you're enjoying it.

The God who goes everywhere - ONE FOR ISRAEL

SHALOM!
"Where can I go from your Spirit?
Where can I flee from your presence?"
(Ps 139:7)

As Jonah discovered, there's no getting away from God. Our omnipresent God is reaching Israeli adventurers in every corner of the globe - there is nowhere too far from him, and nowhere he cannot go! And the amazing thing is that we also have access to all areas through our prayers.

This week, we celebrate Shavuot, the Feast of Weeks, or as you might know it, Pentecost. What a symbol of God's heart for the nations! There is no wall God cannot traverse.

The God Who Goes Through Walls:
Prayer is a VIP Pass

Our God is not stopped by any border, wall or division. He does not need permission to march into the rooms – or even the minds – of leaders, kings and rulers. Their hearts are like water in his hands. God does not need to tap telephones or install CCTV to know what’s going on in top-level meetings. He does not need a special pass to enter the Oval Office. He’s just there, all the time. He is not just a VIP, he is the MIP – the Most Important Person, with access to all areas.

People all across the Middle East are experiencing Jesus showing up in their homes. Villagers in Jordan, housewives in Iran, a Palestinian judge of Shari’a law… Jesus appears to them, right in their rooms. An Arab pastor happened to be actually on the phone with a guy in the West Bank while he was seeing this remarkable sight.
The Revolution of Pentecost

Pentecost (the word “pente” relates to the 50 days counted since Passover) is also known in Israel as Shavuot, the Feast of Weeks. Pentecost was the event when the Holy Spirit was poured out and made available to all flesh, as God promised through the prophet Joel. It’s easy to forget that before Yeshua came and opened up the new and living way, Gentiles were banned from the Temple Courts.

But then, on the morning of Shavuot, a revolution began...
