Living Where the Tabernacle Once Stood ✡ "Thy Light and Thy Truth" - Israel365

O send out Thy light and Thy truth; let them lead me;
let them bring me unto Thy holy mountain,
and to Thy dwelling-places.

Today's Israel Inspiration

The Tabernacle, in Hebrew ‘mishkan’ from the Hebrew word which means to dwell, was erected in the desert as a temporary dwelling for God, and ultimately found its permanent resting place in the form of the Temple on Mount Moriah. But getting there took some time. Our Sages trace the movement of the ‘mishkan’ in the Land of Israel: 14 years in Gilgal, 369 years in Shiloh, and another 57 years in Nov and Givon. Altogether, it took 440 years from the entry into the Land of Israel until Solomon built the Temple, the permanent resting place for the presence of the Lord. In this psalm, the psalmists asks God for light and truth to help him return back to the holy mountain, to the resting place of the Lord. Although living in the Biblical city is a dream-come-true for many, their lives are not easy as they are surrounded by numerous Palestinian villages and cities and are often targets for terror attacks. Shiloh Israel Children's Fund aims to ease the trauma of terrorism in these young children and rebuild the Biblical heartland of the Holy Land.

Israel’s Biggest Advocate Takes His Message to Television

David Rubin, former mayor of Shiloh has made television and public appearances around the world to promote the right of the Jewish people to live in peace in the Biblical Heartland of Israel.

“The epoch grassroots movement that determined the U.S. election illustrates the impact that ordinary people can have when they are active and involved,” said David Rubin, former mayor of the Biblical town of Shiloh in Samaria.

Shabbat Shalom ✡ "A Willing Heart" - ISRAEL365

And they came, both men and women,
as many as were willing-hearted, and brought
nose-rings, and earrings, and signet rings, and girdles, all jewels of gold; even every man that brought an offering of gold unto the LORD.

Shabbat Inspiration

Often, it is the success of a project that history records. When great kings of antiquity built monuments to celebrate victories or to worship a pagan god, we know nothing of the ordinary people who participated in the construction. In fact, it is likely that these temples and monuments were built by slaves who were forced to labor with great suffering to build a magnificent structure at the whim of their master. Not so the Tabernacle. It is a simple structure constructed of items easily found in ordinary households – fabrics and skins and jewelry. And Scripture stresses that it is built through donations, simple items brought by ordinary people, as their hearts and spirits moved them, to take part in the building of a structure that would serve as their center of worship, their vehicle to reach God. WATCH: 100 New Ways to be Inspired by Israel

An Israeli contest set out to encourage people worldwide who love Israel to create brief videos featuring positive messages about the country. Here are just a few of the inspiring clips!

Weekly Torah Portion: Symbolism in the Tabernacle

The Tabernacle and its vessels are rife with symbolism and lessons. The woven fabrics of the Tabernacle were so unique, that when similar fabrics are described in the Book of Esther as adorning King Ahasuerus’s palace, the Sages learned that the Temple treasures which were looted during the fall of the Judean Kingdom made their way to the Persian treasury.

Music CD by Lazer Lloyd

Song artist Lazer Lloyd is known for combination of blues, folk, rock, and jazz. He eventually developed a unique style that incorporated all of these influences into his emotive blues all of which stem from his religious outlook on life. Inspired by his mentor Shlomo Carlebach, he moved to Israel where he expanded his musical career. This album mixes the Jewish soul and electric blues which stamps it as uniquely Lazer Lloyd.

Healing Terror's Young Victims ✡ "The Children of Israel Gathered Themselves at Shiloh"

And when the children of Israel heard of it, the whole congregation of the children of Israel gathered themselves together at Shiloh, to go up against them to war.

JOSHUA (22:12)

va-yish-m'-u b'-nay yis-ra-ayl va-yi-ka-ha-lu kol a-dat b'-nay yis-ra-ayl shi-loh  la-a-lot a-lay-hem la-tza-va

Jerusalem Inspiration

The ancient Biblical city of Shiloh preceded Jerusalem as the home of the Tabernacle. It was the first site of the Tabernacle after the Children of Israel reached the Land, before the establishment of the Temple. After arriving in Israel, Joshua portioned out lands to each of the tribes and sent them out to settle their holdings. The tribes of Reuben, Gad, and half of Manasseh set up their own competing altar to God. The other tribes reacted quickly, gathering together at Shiloh and threatening to make war if the smaller group did not put an end to this practice. Though the entire Land of Israel is Holy, God desires that His people unite to serve him with a single center of worship, which at that time was Shiloh. Today, the modern city of Shiloh stands on the site of ancient Shiloh, preserving an incredibly important Jewish site. Impressive archeological finds have been uncovered there, making it a must-see for any visitor who yearns to connect to Israel's Biblical beginnings. Shiloh is also home to the Shiloh Israel Children's Fund, one of the country's only rehabilitation centers designed to help heal children who were victims of terror attacks.

Welcome to Shiloh!

David Rubin, former mayor of Shiloh and founder of Shiloh Israel Children's Fund, talks about the terror attack that inspired him to help the children of the Biblical heartland overcome the trauma of terrorism and introduces you to the beauty and wonder of ancient Shiloh!

David Rubin, the founder of the Shiloh Israel Children’s Fund, has helped thousands of children cope with trauma caused by terrorism suffered by them or their family members.
