Trump Praises Israel's Use of Racial Profiling
Tuesday, September 20, 2016 | Israel Today Staff
US presidential candidate Donald Trump on Monday repeated his praise for Israel’s use of racial profiling in counter-terrorism, and suggested the US would have greater success in its own security efforts if it followed suit.
During a phone interview with “Fox & Friends,” the Republican nominee noted that “our local police, they know who a lot of these people [terrorists] are, [but] they’re afraid to do anything about it because they don’t want to be accused of profiling.”
Meanwhile, “in Israel they profile,” Trump pointed out. “They’ve done an unbelievable job, as good as you can do. They see somebody that’s suspicious, they will profile. They will take that person and they’ll check out.”
Referencing the recent bombings in New York City and New Jersey by a Muslim immigrant, Trump wondered, “Do we really have a choice? They’re trying to be so politically correct in our country and this is only going to get worse. This isn’t going to get better.”
