Will You Turn Away Family, Friends And Neighbors At Your Door When America’s Day Of Disaster Arrives? - Michael Snyder THE ECONOMIC COLLAPSE BLOG

Posted: 19 Apr 2017   Michael Snyder  THE ECONOMIC COLLAPSE BLOG

How will you handle all of the people that will show up at your door when a major crisis strikes because they haven’t been making any preparations of their own?  Earlier today somebody asked me about this on Facebook, and I thought that it was a very good question, because thousands of my readers will be faced with this precise dilemma at some point.

When America’s day of disaster arrives, it is inevitable that most of us that are prepping will have family, friends and neighbors showing up at our door asking for help.  When that happens, what will you do?

There are some people out there that are very honest about the fact that they do not plan to share what they have stored up with anyone, and that even close family members will be greeted with a shotgun if they show up unannounced.

Personally, I could never do that.  My wife and I have always had the philosophy that we need to work extra hard to prepare because there will be people that need to depend on us when times get really hard.  And turning away those that are in desperate need would go against everything that we stand for.  After all, I am even writing a book that is all about the true meaning of love, and so it would be quite hypocritical of me to turn away those that I care about when they need me the most.

And even if I wanted to be cold-hearted, my wife would never let me get away with it.  She has such a soft heart that she literally can’t bear to even see a bug die.  We often have spiders invade our place, and when she sees one she gently captures it and sets it free outside.  I tell her that they will just breed and come back in even bigger numbers, but that doesn’t seem to matter to her.  So needless to say we are going to have to find a non-violent way to deal with our spider problem.

But I certainly understand the frustrations of those that have been trying to warn family and friends about what is coming for years and they never seem to listen.

And it is true that resources are limited.  For the vast majority of us, there is only so much money and energy that we can put into prepping, and so why should those that have refused to listen to the warnings and prepare in advance be able to benefit from all of our hard work?

Unfortunately, life is not always fair.  And we also need to realize that there is a tremendous amount of deception going on out there these days.  Some of the deceptions that are currently circulating are very strong, and it can be very easy to be sucked into them.  So we need to have compassion for those that have been led into confusion.

Look, there are literally thousands of watchmen all across this country that have never wavered from warning America about what is coming even for a moment.  That is because they are standing on the truth and not on wishful thinking that is the product of overactive imaginations.

The ingredients for the “perfect storm” that so many watchmen have been warning about for ages are starting to come together right before our eyes.  We are closer to World War III than we have been in decades, our politicians are openly admitting that our relations with Russia are at “an all-time low”, the federal government is 20 trillion dollars in debt, our nation is on the verge of being torn apart by strife and civil unrest, the financial markets are primed for a crash of epic proportions, there are mass die-offs of animals all over the globe, and natural disasters are happening with frightening regularity as the crust of our planet rattles and shakes.

But we are somehow supposed to believe that “everything is going to be wonderful” even though we continue to kill babies on an industrial scale, just about every form of sexual immorality that you can possibly imagine is exploding all around us, our “entertainment” industry is an open sewer, and we lead the world in both legal and illegal drug use.

I’ve got dozens more facts that I could quote regarding our moral decay, but I think that you get the point.

If we actually changed our behavior, I could understand why it would make sense for America to be blessed.

But we haven’t changed our behavior, and there are no signs that this is going to happen any time soon.

As humans, we have the freedom to choose, but those choices inevitably have consequences.

The same thing is true for our nation as a whole.  We have made a whole bunch of exceedingly bad choices, and those choices are going to result in some incredibly painful consequences.

So you can do whatever you want, but my wife and I are going to continue to get prepared.  America is headed for a date with disaster, and those that are suggesting otherwise are not being honest with you.

Scriptures

Matthew 2:8-11 MEV And he sent them to Bethlehem and said, “Go and search diligently for the young Child, and when you have found Him, bring me word again, so that I may come and worship Him also.” When they heard the king, they departed. And the star which they saw in the east went before them until it came and stood over where the young Child was. When they saw the star, they rejoiced with great excitement. And when they came into the house, they saw the young Child with Mary, His mother, and fell down and worshipped Him. And when they had opened their treasures, they presented gifts to Him: gold, frankincense, and myrrh.
Matthew 6:31 KJV Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?

Don't Be Duped Again: An Open Letter to Black Clergy - BISHOP HARRY R. JACKSON JR. CHARISMA NEWS

Don't Be Duped Again: An Open Letter to Black Clergy

BISHOP HARRY R. JACKSON JR.  CHARISMA NEWS
We are in the middle of one of the most volatile and unpredictable presidential elections in living memory. Any political principles at stake are getting swallowed up by daily scandals and larger-than-life personalities.
And as often happens, so much focus has been on the presidential race that many Americans have forgotten that their governors, senators, congressional and state representatives—as well as a litany of local elected officials—will have far more influence on their day-to-day lives than whoever occupies the White House.
"Conservative" is often used interchangeably with "Republican," but the two words do not always mean the same thing, particularly this year. Although people define conservatism differently, in the American tradition, conservatism generally includes the ideas of restrained government power, affirmation of the traditional family, respect for religious conscience, peace from a place of strength in foreign policy, and respect for the autonomy and dignity of each individual human being.
I believe there are many reasons why conservative political principles are better for all Americans, but in this letter I will share just a few reasons why African Americans in particular should consider voting for Mr. Trump and candidates—at every level of government—who adhere to conservative principles.
1. Restrained Government
Blacks, more than almost any other people group, have good reason to be skeptical of excessive government power. From slavery to Jim Crow and the Tuskegee experiments, government power has been used to enslave, discriminate against and abuse blacks. While many government programs are promoted as "helping" blacks, the help always comes with the authority to regulate and intrude.
2. School Choice
For years, surveys have repeatedly demonstrated that black Americans overwhelmingly support the conservative idea that the zip code in which people can afford to live should not determine the quality of the education their children receive. Yet opponents of school choice repeatedly insist that children whose parents cannot afford private school must attend the public school for which they are zoned, even if that school is unsafe and incompetent.
3. Economic Opportunity
The black unemployment rate remains nearly twice the white unemployment rate, despite a theoretical economic recovery. Conservative elected officials resist the government interference in the labor market that raises unemployment and prevents many from getting needed job experience.
Furthermore, leaders governed by conservative principles will work to remove the stifling regulations and taxes that discourage new businesses from forming and existing businesses from growing.
4. Family
The decline of marriage has many complex causes, but it has hit the black community the hardest. Yet much of the liberal agenda has been devoted to redefining the traditional family out of existence. Blacks who marry and stay married have drastically better outcomes than those who divorce or do not marry at all. Strong marriages make healthy families and build vibrant communities.
True conservatives also believe that parents should have the right to raise their children how they see fit, as long as they do not abuse or neglect them. In many communities, African American parents have the reputation for being stricter than their white counterparts.
As Nancy Hill wrote this summer in US News and World Report, "To [keep their children safe], African-American parents are often much stricter and require more obedience than do other parents—aptly called 'no-nonsense parenting.' From the outside, this parenting may seem harsh and unyielding. However, African-American parents are preparing their children for a harsh and unyielding society." Hill notes that research confirms these techniques are associated with better academic and life outcomes.
5. Foreign Policy
We are living in a dangerous world, where various entities like ISIS and the regimes in Iran and North Korean openly declare their hatred of our country and desire to destroy us.
Conservatives generally believe that peace must come from a place of military strength, while their opponents tend to think that by making concessions to our enemies we can persuade them to hate us less. Yet history demonstrates that this practice emboldens rogue states and dictators, making them even more dangerous.
6. Religious Liberty
Religious liberty has been under assault for some time now, and African-Americans have been deeply affected. From Atlanta Fire Chief Kelvin Cochran to Dr. Eric Walsh, well-respected black professionals have been persecuted or even fired because of their faith. Conservatives believe that all Americans should be allowed to do their jobs and run their businesses in accordance with their religious consciences.
7. Self-Respect
Conservatives believe in self-reliance and personal responsibility, as well as the importance of mediating non-governmental institutions like the family and local churches. This viewpoint is deeply compatible with the long, proud African-American tradition which emphasizes strong individuals, families and churches.
This election, I urge African-Americans—and all Americans—to critically evaluate where candidates stand on these principles, and vote accordingly. This means voting for Mr. Trump and true conservative, down ticket candidates.

Why the 'Duck Dynasty' Family Keeps Speaking Out in Face of Vicious Attacks - BOB ESCHLIMAN CHARISMA NEWS

Why the 'Duck Dynasty' Family Keeps Speaking Out in Face of Vicious Attacks

BOB ESCHLIMAN  CHARISMA NEWS

Alan Robertson, the eldest son of Duck Dynasty star Phil Robertson, spoke once again at the Family Research Council's Values Voter Summit in Washington, D.C., on Saturday.

During that speech, "the beardless brother" explained why his family continues to be vocal about their Christian faith and how it informs their decisions, particularly in light of the response it elicits from those who oppose a Christian worldview.
"I don't know that, in my lifetime, I've ever seen more of an attack on traditional values traditional family and, really, religious liberty—that's where we're living today," he said. "Every time that I come in and speak for anything associated with FRC, or with Tony, I get the most vile, vicious, mean notes on my social platform that you can ever imagine.
"Because I'm a person obviously in the public eye part of our family, and so we're not supposed to talk about what we talked about—who we are, in essence. I guess, you know, it's OK for other people, but not so much for us. So we're blasted."
Tony Perkins is "a really convincing guy," he quipped, saying in response to questions about why he continues to endure the attacks. The FRC president keeps convincing him to come back, he said, but added there are really three reasons why he continues to "do what I do."
"One is that I don't run from a fight," he said. "Especially when I'm right—and we are right about what we're talking about and so we don't need to run from them. You know, as dad said last night, ultimately our conscience and who we are, those of us who are believers know that God has put us in this position on this Earth to be a mouthpiece for Him. ...
"In America, we have over 300 years of history on our side and success because this country was founded on the things we believe in and we should be able to talk about that consistently and not be maligned, but we are. But you know what? That's OK, because God also told us that we would be persecuted for living that godly life and speaking what we speak.
"If Jesus Christ—if it was good enough for Him to be persecuted, then it's good enough for me. I'm not going to back away from the fight.
"I also want to join and support those who are willing to fight this cultural war for our soul—and that's what it is, a fight for the soul of America—because we know that we're citizens of this great country and very proud of that. We're also citizens of another country—of someplace that's higher, someplace that we want all men and women to ascend to—and really that's the third reason why.
"Because I love the folks, even the ones who malign, and talk bad, and hate, and say the things that they say. Whether they hate me, I love them anyway, and I want them to know about eternal life. I want them to know there's something beyond. I want them to know there's something better than your family right here in the here-and-now—a life that's unimaginable when turned to Christ and turned to God."
Robertson also discussed why he's voting for Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump. He also addressed the concerns of evangelicals who still haven't been convinced to do the same.
"So we're at this point, again. You know it hasn't taken us too long to get here—where things are in pretty bad shape—in fact, it's at such a crossroads that I believe, as many have said on this stage during the week, that we're at a toppling point. It's so dangerous and it's so scary.
"Some of the decisions that we see that come down through the judiciary now, and through the Supreme Court, of course what's happening and mostly not happening through the legislative branch—in 2016, we're at a crucial moment and I believe we're at a clear choice, as well.
"Now, you know we've got same ol' same ol' coming in on the Democratic side. I mean, it's just so—in fact, the only thing that adds to it now is we got a person who we know how self-serving she is. And not only wanting to take forward what's been happening for the last eight years, but also then to serve her own interests.
"It's a clear choice, because you look on the other side and you see a man who we're not sure about, you know, because he's never been a politician—which could exactly be the answer we need, that God has raised up this person for this moment in time—but here's what I appreciate about Donald Trump ...
"He's evolving in the right direction. You know, he talks openly about where he was, and certainly the news media's gonna put out there every possible thing they can find about where he was, but he's telling you about where he's coming to.
"So, again, I'm not saying he's the next Ronald Reagan, but I'm saying he has a lot of the qualities of a person that evolved from one place to another place, because they see how bad America has gotten ...
"I'm clearly going to vote for Donald Trump in two months there's no doubt about it. I'm gonna be that guy. And to my fellow Christians, evangelicals, and those who said, 'I just, you know, I made my decision in the primary'—because I mean I supported someone else, I mean a lot of us did but—when it comes down to it, if I were a #NeverTrump, I would hope that person would have been a #NeverHillary far before they were ever a #NeverTrump.
"You've drawn that line in the sand and you said, 'Well, you know, I just don't know if my conscience will allow me to step over it.' Well, I hope you drew another line that was #NeverHillary before that. So, listen, let's wipe that off and let's go back and let's remember and look at what's going to happen if we don't do the right thing.
"I love what Dr. Dobson said last night: We can't quit now. We can't just say, 'Well, you know what? Maybe if we lose this election, then we can start looking for four years down the road.' We're running out four-year terms for our great country.
"The judicial is waiting. The legislative is waiting. It's up to us to do the right thing. It's so crucial at this moment at this time. I want to encourage all of you to trust in God's ability to raise up who He raises up. That doesn't always be the person in our mind that we think it should be. God has done amazing things throughout human history by raising up people that no one can imagine to make a difference."
